If you are lucky Black Soldier fly's will show up to the party and you can collect the old casings for frass. They will also process food scraps 3-5 times faster than compost worms. Try worm castings. a little goes a long way. Water it in also. I also use/like the cheap stuff because... it's made about 100 km from where I live and I don't have to pay big shipping fee's to get it.
