A true autoflower is homozygous recessive for the day neutral genetics. Therefore most crosses between classical photoperiod / short-day strains and autoflowers produce few or no autoflower progeny in the F1 generation. Chances are its photo. even more so if this was "bag seed" big growers use clones for stable genetics vs seeds. and Autos don't clone... or well they keep the same clock when cloned and flower on the same schedule as the main plant, they won't stay in a vegetative state by editing their environment like photos do. Good news though, you can grow it on a 12/12 light schedule from seed-harvest and it will start to show its sex and act like an autoflower. I did this once by accident on my very first grow, Was told seeds were autos and to put them on 12/12, but later discovered they where photos via the breeder. Still got a good amount off my plants. Best of luck.

Well, until they flower on their own, you don't know. As well, they could be regular seeds, so female is not a given. All depends on the history(origin) of these "random" seeds. Did they come from a periodic female plant that was not fertilized by a male (nanners)? Did they come from an Auto that hermied,, etc.
