Hey buddy, thanks a lot for sharing the photo, she looks beautiful. Really nice colors and resin coverage 👌🌱
At around week 8, you’re definitely getting close, but from what I can see, she’s not quite there yet. That said, harvest timing is very much a matter of personal taste and purpose, not just the calendar.
A quick breakdown that might help:
• Clear trichomes → more energetic, heady, sometimes anxious
• Cloudy trichomes → peak THC, balanced effect (most people aim here)
• Amber trichomes → more body-heavy, sedative, THC slowly converts and more CBN comes into play
Harvesting early (mostly cloudy, little amber) usually gives a more daytime, uplifting effect.
Harvesting on time (mostly cloudy, some amber) gives a balanced, full-spectrum effect.
Harvesting late (more amber) often results in a heavier, more relaxing medicine, which some people really need and benefit from.
Personally, I harvest differently depending on what I want from the plant.
Sometimes earlier for daytime use, sometimes later when I want something heavier and more medicinal. Both approaches are valid, it’s about your needs.
With the colder temperatures you mentioned, maturation can slow down a bit, so don’t rush her just because of the week number. Let the trichomes guide you more than the calendar.
If you don’t have a loupe or microscope, no problem, your phone camera is enough.
Take a close-up photo, zoom in, or use macro mode if available. Phones these days do a surprisingly good job for trichome checks.
This is just my humble opinion, always trust your instincts. You’re the one who knows what kind of effect you’re looking for.
Thanks again for the photo, Growers Love and she really does look amazing 🌸
