Gorilla Girl XL Auto
Growing it

The Gorilla Girl XL Auto’s turned out to be a pretty decent strain. The plants were not XL as I had expected but they were healthy and vigorous from start to finish. This strain had an extremely alluring smell from early on and the buds were dripping with resin as advertised by Sweet Seeds. I did find that the buds were much lighter, fluffier and not nearly as dense as I had hoped for and unfortunately that really affected the final harvest weight. I only harvested and cured three of the four plants as the forth was so larfy that it’s been put aside for bubble hash production. I did not bother weighing the final dry product but it filled up three full size mason jars which is usually about 50 grams of smokable bud. I would average 150 grams total or 50 grams per plant so definitely not a memorable harvest weight compared to previous grows. But as far as the smoke report for this strain- it’s great! Very strong, an energetic and creative Sativa high without being overwhelming and sending my heart rate/thoughts racing. I usually don’t enjoy a Sativa high all that much but this is a nicely balanced strain that can be enjoyed throughout the day into the evening without worries about keeping you up at bedtime. The flavour is tough to describe as it’s kind of piney, citrusy, and sweet all in one- let’s just say that it tastes like really good pot! So to summarize the Sweet Seeds Gorilla Girl XL Auto’s in a few words- easy to grow, tasty, intoxicating effect but a low harvest weight- quality over quantity with this strain. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to grow great weed for personal use. The genetics seem stable, reliable and a safe choice when looking at the overwhelming number of Cannabis seed breeders in today’s market. I believe that your money is well spent when you choose seeds from Sweet Seeds!

I was unable to complete the grow as the plants were somehow fertilized and well on their way to seed by the time I figured out what was going on. But I will say that this particular strain had an unbelievable amount of bud sites and the potential to be a massive harvest. Super disappointed and heartbreaking to have to chop four big, beautiful, healthy but fully fertilized plants. 😢

If you are seeking a potent Sativa high with a heavy citrus flavour than please consider this strain- The Sweet Seeds Cream Mandarine XL Auto. This is an easy strain to grow and it’s definitely lived up to it’s name with all four of the plants reaching over 48" or 4 feet in height. I did not top or train (LST) this strain but I am positive that it would have done well with either or both for that matter. Without topping or training these plants grew into the predictable xmas tree shape with a heavy, central cola surrounded by a ring of satellite buds. The majority of the lower buds were decent but not as heavy as I had originally hoped for. This strain has a low leaf to bud ratio which makes for easy trimming at harvest time with little to no defoliation needed throughout the grow. The buds are on the smaller side but they are quite dense and absolutely covered in sparkling trichomes! Definitely some of the frostiest pot I have ever grown. The smell throughout this grow is worth mentioning as this is a very strong smelling strain. It’s not a bad smell as most people enjoy a citrus scent but it’s definitely not easy to hide and I would not recommend for those seeking a stealthy strain. And now on to the smoke report… this is a Sativa lover’s dream. Although uncured- this pot when smoked or vaped tastes like a bag of oranges, lemons and limes. Pure citrus perfection! It’s super smooth and very hard hitting. You can feel it’s effects almost immediately upon inhalation (just a few tokes will do it) and the high lasts a really long time. This strain will leave you feeling energized and happy if you tolerate the sativa high well- If not, this strain will quicken your heart rate, leaving you sweaty and green if unlucky 🤢. Based on that, I would not recommend this strain for newbie smokers. This is a reliable strain for those looking to get super high from a small amount of product for long periods of time. The Sweet Seeds Cream Mandarine XL Autos are a great bang for your buck, probably best for daytime smoking by those seeking a hardcore sativa experience/high.

So unfortunately with this particular strain, it’s hard for me to give an objective review. I received three different strains from Original Sensible Seeds and this strain, like the previous two, produced male flowers at some point during the grow. I must have missed a flower or two during the last few weeks of flower only to find that my beautiful buds were once again well on their way to seed. This of course will affect the potency and flavour of the finished product. The buds look beautiful, lots of resin but they smell hempy and the taste is nothing to write home about. All in all, this grow was a complete waste of time and energy. I definitely would not recommend Original Sensible Seeds or this strain to anyone until they work out the kinks with their genetics.

The Original Sensible Seeds Zkittles Auto is a simple strain to grow, smoke and relax with. All four plants were small to medium sized (28-32" tall) with approximately 18-20 branches each (untopped). They were well structured with thick stems and branches- thus allowing this strain to hold a significant amount of bud weight without sagging or falling over leading up to harvest. This strain was by far, one of the easiest I’ve ever grown but I would only recommend this to a more experienced grower. I did find about a dozen male flowers on three out of the four plants in week 5. I plucked them off and watched these like crazy throughout the remainder of the grow. Thankfully they made it through to harvest and the finished product is decent. The buds are dense and heavy but not as resinous as Original Sensible Seeds describes in their advertising for this strain. The buds were easy to wet trim (low sugar leaf to bud ratio) and smell like freshly chopped cucumbers! It’s difficult to give an accurate description of the flavour for this strain because it’s just gone into cure. At this point when smoked or vaped, I can taste a combination of flowery, sweet and sour. The buzz is 70/30- Indica/Sativa and I personally don’t feel that this strain is as strong or intense as other growers describe. All in all, I generously gave this strain a 5 out of 10 for the following reasons- super easy to grow but the male flowers found during Week 5 leave me questioning the ultimate stability of these genetics. Even though this grow turned out all right in the end, if I hadn’t known what I was looking at (the male flowers) this entire grow would have been pollinated/ruined. The buds are tight and heavy but not nearly as resinous or potent as advertised by the folks at Original Sensible Seeds. I doubt that I will grow this strain again because male flowers in feminized, autoflowering genetics are simply unacceptable. 😢

If you are looking to grow oversize buds, excessively sticky with loads of resin and high THC levels- Fast Buds Purple Lemonade should be a front runner on your list! I really enjoyed my first attempt at growing this strain and found it relatively easy going from seed to harvest in just 11 weeks. This strain grew as advertised maxing out at about 3 ft or 34" tall and I was fortunate enough to have a mixture of all the available phenotypes; purple, purple/green and straight up green- I found no difference in potency between the various phenotypes. These were strong smelling plants from about week 5 on- grapefruit with gassy undertones make this a difficult choice for those looking to stealth grow. These were by far the largest buds that I have ever grown indoors and they stayed large throughout the dry and going into cure. The dry buds are hard/dense and this is an extremely resinous strain- so much so that these three plants left large sticky patches where they were resting on the inside walls of my tent! The yields were decent but not outstanding as I made the mistake of only topping one of the three FB Purple Lemonade plants. In future, I will top all plants of this strain as it rebounds quickly and yields considerably more product compared to the untopped plants. And now to describe the smoke... it has a great flavour even prior to going into cure and it burns beautifully in either a joint, pipe or vape. It has a sweet, strong flavour similar to that of the FB Green Crack and I find this strain to be a perfect 50/50 balance of Indica to Sativa. It’s a well balanced high suitable for day or night, anytime really but maybe not for the novice or newbie smoker as it’s still really potent! Once again, I am very impressed with the Fast Buds genetics! This was an all too easy strain to grow, producing massive buds drenched in trichomes and feels quite high in THC (wish I could test it...). Thank you to Fast Buds for the opportunity to grow and showcase your fabulous Purple Lemonade strain and I will definitely grow this again! Highly recommend!

Impossible to give a fair smoke report on the Fast Buds Tangiematic strain as I don’t feel that this particular grow was successful. The only surviving plant of the three original seeds started was not healthy or normal (compared to other personal grows or other growers results observed on GD) therefore the bud quality is poor at best. I will attempt this strain again in future as I believe the Fast Buds genetics to be strong in general.

I love Fast Buds Green Crack... and so do all of my friends! I have given away so much of this harvest already and it’s not even finished curing. These 4 plants were nothing short of perfect throughout the majority of this grow. Topped at 2-3 weeks, this strain will produce many branches with tight inter-nodal spacing. Buds will grow together to form beautiful, tight colas on every branch if enough light is applied to the plant’s canopy. The smell of this strain when harvesting is 100% pure pink grapefruit and remains solid throughout the cure. The buds trim up easily as there is a low leaf to bud ratio in the buds themselves (hardly any sugar leaves) and they are quite dense and tight. Lots of resin with the Green Crack, probably a good strain for those seeking to make rosin, etc. The high from this Cannabis is truly worthy of it’s name and reputation. It’s a strong smoke with the best characteristics of both a Sativa and an Indica for your enjoyment- Hitting hard and fast without the racing heart rate and the "I’m going green, need to lie down" effect. The flavour is reminiscent of the old school "hydroponic" herb that first became popular in the late 80’s early 90’s. It’s a full bodied taste with hints of pine and citrus- really smooth in either a joint or vape. My hubby is a long time smoker with quite a high tolerance to THC and he wanted a strain that would truly get him high again. The Green Crack has succeeded in achieving this task and then some so I wouldn’t recommend this strain for newbie’s or novice smokers. Definitely more of an evening/weekend smoke and an absolute favorite that I will grow over and over again! These 4 plants yielded over a pound of the best quality cannabis that I have ever grown and that’s why the Fast Buds Green Crack scores a perfect 10/10 stars for me.

Dutch Passion Auto Blackberry Kush definitely lives up to it’s name with a beautiful dark purple colouring and a notable fruity smell and flavour. I chose to grow this strain based on other grower’s positive reviews and of course- their incredible photos! As promised, the BBK’s are a joy to grow and photograph as the various phenotypes display a wide range of gorgeous purple hues. As far as the smoke is concerned- it’s hard to say at this point as the buds are just over a week into cure. There is a sweet/fruity undertone accompanied by the typical earthy/woody flavour of uncured bud. Hopefully in 7 weeks when all is said and done, I will be left with the super fruity/berry product that everyone raves about in their GD reviews. I will say however that the effects of this strain are quite enjoyable! It definitely ticks the "Indica" box for me as it’s a very relaxing buzz both mentally and physically. I’ve often read that the purple strains of Cannabis offer more medicinal benefits and in my opinion the BBK is no exception. I can feel my muscles relaxing almost immediately upon smoking/vaping and it seems to offer some mild pain relief as well. I find the buzz to be mild to moderate, less intense off the start but lasting longer than most for at least 2 hours. This is a great evening pot as it’s a pleasant downer at the end of a long day. I would definitely recommend my fellow growers try this strain just for the purples themselves but the smoke is pretty good too! Another successful grow using the ever impressive genetics of Dutch Passion.

Mephisto Genetics Sour Crack- what more can I say. This is a cross between two of my favourite strains (24 Karat and Green Crack) and it’s every bit as good as both of these strains combined should be. A sweet mango flavour with a hard hitting, heavy stone takes hold almost immediately upon smoking/vaping and lasts for a solid 2 hours! The hardcore high leans towards the Indica dominance of this strain and I prefer smoking this bud in the evenings or on lazy weekends. Although the yields are small, the buds are super dense and covered with loads of resin. Predictably small, well structured plants make for anxiety free growing in tight spaces while producing some of the best bud I’ve ever smoked. The quick time from seed to harvest makes this strain a perfect choice for someone seeking fully smokeable product in under 10 weeks (pre-cure). I will grow the Sour Crack over and over again as a personal favourite...no doubt this strain is of connoisseur quality and should never be overlooked!

This strain has a beautiful flowery/fruity/diesely smell while in the tent and during harvest and retains that gassy/diesely odor throughout the cure. In the end, the fully cured flower tastes far different than it smells- when smoked it tastes like pine with hints of citrus and an underlying flavour of dank! I think the dank is the gassy/diesely influence and I really enjoy that unique flavour found in this strain. I find the smoke to be a medium-strong sativa effect without the racey head high. It’s energetic and uplifting- perfect for social occasions/parties or at home/daytime smoking. The effects are almost immediate upon smoking/vaping and last for 1-1.5 hours. Medium-large plants offer up heavy, dense buds sticky with golden resin. I’ve been impressed with the Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate and I will definitely grow this strain again. I look forward to trying a few more super auto strains like “Think Big & Think Different" from this company as thier genetics produce a smooth smoking, strong herb sure to impress any level of smoker from connoisseur to newbie!
