A new review for Crop King’s Hash Plant. This was a clone that was given as a gift, but the genetics are from the original pack I purchased and subsequently gave my friend a seed. The plant got through all the different rides, mites and pests, freezing cold winter temperatures, and overnuting. I didn’t realize how hot the soil still was and I just kept feeding liquid plant food with no restraint. The last mess up was a big one because excess nitrogen just nuked my yield. The buds were more leaf than flower. This plant did less well than others in nutrient recovery, I’m guessing because it had a shorter flowering time. Once found, I flushed for a period, and recovered some flavour. Overall, I composted much more than I kept. The taste is bland, sort of harsh. The nutrient excess really comes through. There are very deep, hidden sweet tones, but I can’t get to it. I will say, I’ve overnuted much worse, and tasted much worse weed that wasn’t overnuted. Not much trichome production on top of the veggieness. The potency is unaffected. Not as strong as some of my previous Hash Plant grows, it still is a very heavy indica. I really round this iteration makes me straight tired. Disappointing ending on almost all fronts minus potency. I do enjoy mixing it, and the pitiful 8 grams was worth the 8 grams of effect, but at a “meh” taste. The big mistake was at my hand and I will live with it. Please refer to some of my other reviews for Hash Plant because in reality it is a very, very good strain.

I grew this iteration of Crop King’s Hash Plant from seed, in a peat pod outdoors. I grew Crop King’s Black Indica alongside this plant in the same conditions and in the same way, and they are similar so it makes for a nice comparison. Hash Plant had more peat activity compared to Black Indica. I would constantly see leaves munched on, or be surprised by a massive grasshopper or slug. Overall, it resisted the attacks but certainly invited more guests. I’ve made this direct comparison before, and so I was surprised to see Hash Plant larger than the other. Usually Hash Plant is squat and stout but I was happy with the main stalk and crown flowers. The main storyline: if you follow this grow you would find out that I live next to an industrial mill which has a very strong floodlamp to light their storage yard. This light illuminates the entire rear of my garage minus the space shaded by the perimeter fence. I was concerned of light stress in flower all along and my plans were to top and train the plant to remain below the fence line. I have learned that outdoor grows are a bit harder to control, especially the timing of flower, so ultimately Hash Plant stretched past the fence. At night the tops of the main crown bud was illuminated from a distance estimated at more than 50 yards. On rare nights the light was not on. I’m unclear if the horizontal light in the early stages, that is the indirect light, caused the plant to want to stretch further and ultimately into the light. The result of this tale is a stressed hermaphrodite plant full of seeds. Very disappointing. I have to imagine this effected yield in terms of energies expended by the plant. I’m not sure if seed production effects taste directly, but there are so many seeds that its hard not to get part of a husk or other plant material into the bowl, and this taste stands out badly in the vape. Overall, the taste is bland, herby, very few hints of sweet. No taste of hash. I would say potency is not heavily effected by seeds so this is good. Indirectly, the degradation of the bud may alter the power of the effects, but I can confirm THC contents are still fairly fine. This is clearly a strong indica. If you have read my other reviews, Hash Plant has a reputation as concussive ... even this batch is a good type of strong! Noticeably more relaxing than the Black Indica. This recurring theme seems to be a major perk of the Hash Plant strain. This isn’t a fault of Crop King Seeds. However, I can’t give a good rating based on the hassle of picking out seeds and the bad taste. 5/10

A near disaster turned into a master plant! Everything went well for Hash Plant up until weeks 10-12 when it was stricken with a nutrient imbalance, all the leaves turned yellow and spotted. A massive flush of water and a ton of time, and the plant eventually recovered. Strong genetics and patience allowed it to bounce back, with a repotting, and eventually it regrew lush green vegetation and used its framework to become even larger. This thing had the largest leaves of the tent. So this plant had an uncharacteristically long veg. time, this probably skews my yield and review a bit. It could have been bad, and it ended up better than it normally would. Other than the one imbalance, no issues growing. Hash Plant created massive white haired buds which eventually turned orange, and I mean orange! The buds were full on red. The main cola is the best I’ve grown in my entire history. The smell is sort of just musty/sweet when growing. The taste is earthy/musty/pungent and the dried buds really smell. Taste is the not the prize. The effects are HEAVY indica, Hash Plant is strong. Head gets heavy, body relaxes, really heavy head, red eyes, sleepy, etc. Do not consume before something important or where you need to be alert, mega couch lock! I’ve had multiple people comment in concurrence. If you want strong indica, devastating couch lock, which I do, then Crop King’s Hash Plant is the strain for you.

Complicated history for the individual plant, but what it did yield was nice sweet, musty, hash buds. The main story for this strain is potency: it is a strong indica! This will relax you and put you to sleep. Very good description online. Hard to describe taste. As it cures it does taste like hash, but there is also a strong sweet overtone. Growing was fairly easy, the plant bounced back from severe light damage and yellowing, although not as fast as a similar indica strain (also Crop King). The plant was also more squat and yielded less than the before mentioned competitor. However, the heavy hitter results is most important. Thats what I am looking for. I’m hoping future Hash Plant grows will yield more, bigger and better buds. I forsee the star count increasing.
