Week 9: Late Flowering and Ripening Signs of Maturity As we enter week 9, the plants are well into the late flowering stage, with the buds ripening beautifully. The trichomes are becoming more prominent, and there's a noticeable increase in resin production. The aromas are intensifying, making the garden a fragrant delight. The plants are showing clear signs of maturity, indicating that harvest time is approaching. Nutrient and Watering Adjustments To accelerate the ripening process and boost bud production, I'm using FinalPart by Terra Aquatica for Banana Purple Punch and Blue Dream. As from T.A recommended I use it alone with no other nutrients combined. I use it at full dosage but I hope I don't burn them in the end. No risk no fun. However, for Tangie and Gorilla Cookies, I have not changed the nutrient composition, as these plants will likely need another three /four weeks to fully mature. The watering schedule remains consistent, ensuring the plants are hydrated but not overwatered, which is crucial during this delicate phase. Pest Management and Plant Health To combat thrips, I've placed yellow and blue sticky traps around the plants. Fortunately, there have been no further signs of aphid infestation. The plants appear healthy and vigorous, showing no additional pest issues. Individual Plant Observations Blue Dream: Some pistils are starting to change color, and the main bud is becoming denser. The fan leaves are also transitioning from green to yellow, indicating that the plant is drawing nutrients from them. The trichomes are becoming more cloudy. Banana Purple Punch: The plant is experiencing slower growth, with minimal bud expansion. The pistils are changing color, and the buds are developing a beautiful purple hue. The fan leaves are turning yellow as the plant draws nitrogen from them. I’m hoping FinalPart will stimulate a final boost in bud production. Gorilla Cookies: Bud development is also progressing slowly. However, all the large leaves are still green, so I’ll hold off on FinalPart until at least next week. My goal here is to maximize yield. The resin production and aroma are intensifying daily. Tangie: Still in a growth phase, Tangie is a real eye-catcher. While the bud production is underway, the plant may need at least three, possibly even four more weeks to reach full maturity. The resin production and aroma are not yet as advanced as with the other plants, but Tangie looks very vibrant and healthy. Seeking Final Tips and Harvest Advice As we approach the final stages, any tips or advice on maximizing flavor, potency, or overall plant health would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to gear up for the most exciting part of the grow cycle—harvest! Update 27.07: Today, I decided to switch my Gorilla Cookies plant to FinalPart as well. This should give her a boost in trichome production and aroma, and hopefully enhance the flavor too. Tangie is the only plant still on regular bloom nutrients, as she clearly needs another three, maybe even four weeks to fully ripen. Judging by her current growth, she seems poised to yield the most by far.

So there is actually very little work this week .. She has been a real joy to grow so far.. I do understand what they meant by pheno-hunting...

Thanks to Seedsman for the idea of a 420 grow-off and the chance to try some of the latest and greatest. Anyway, started some Blueberry Pie F1 Fast seeds from Seedsman today. Very promising sounding genetics, and I’m very keen to see how she goes. Hopefully we won’t get as much wildfire smoke as we did last year. The plan for this plant is a 16 cola manifold with force flowering (12 h darkness) starting in late July for a couple of weeks. Starting in a glass of water on a heat mat at 25 C. Kept in dark using foil. I’ve decided to avoid plastic for the seed starting. Also, based on a science paper I saw this winter, I’m leaving a ripe apple in the dark with the seeds. Apparently the ethylene gas helps, but only in the dark before light is applied. Tried it with tomato and pepper plants and seems to work. First time trying with my cannabis seeds. Will add the reference to the paper some day. Apr 22: moved into soil. Starting three seeds but I only have room for one plant. Will adopt out the other two. Apr 25: removed foil cover (and apple) and set the plants beside the light that is going for tomatoes and peppers. The seedlings need minimal light at this stage so taking it easy. Day 63 of flower. I started the flush. I'm very satisfied with the grow, the cookies Is fattening up day by day..She Is so frosty and smell so good. Huge top colas by the way..9 on 15 off as light schedule. Maybe i Will flower her till day 70 or 77.

August 14, day 104 (37f), the Red Mandarine is getting chunkier bit by bit. The canopy is pretty dense, but I have plenty of airflow so it should be alright. It just needs to ripen a bit more in the coming weeks and gain a little density and it should be good to harvest. August 17, day 107 (day 40f), the buds are really putting on weight at the end! The smell is also increasing, along with the lovely red tones. Switched to dry koolbloom for the last week or so, then a short flush and harvest. The Mars Hydro SP-3000 is powering through the flowering stage. Defoliated the younger branches and feed her some fish fertiliser. I await the pre flower mode so I can transplant to their new home. Strangely these girls are always light green I fed her some more fertiliser for confirmation during the week.

4/24/23 @ 12:30pm - We did something a little different today. Both plants given 1 gallon of campden water + 1 TSP RECHARGE + 1 TSP Mega Crop + 2 TSP Bloom. This should act like a flush of sorts but the water is loaded with nutes so hopefully this helps the plants turn more green. 4/26/23 @ 9pm - I checked on both plants tonight and the first inch or so of soil felt dry so I decided to water. pH'd 6.5 campden water + 1.75 tsp MegaCrop + 1 tsp Bloom + 1 tsp RECHARGE. 1.5 Gallons per plant. Still some yellowing and wilting but the leaves have straightened out since the wind burn adjustments. Hopefully they uptake all these nutrients, the smells are getting incredible. 4/28/23 @ 2:30pm - Checked on the girls today and I am happy to report they're finally starting to turn back to a nice shade of green. The wind burnt leaves have either died off or recovered. The smells are getting very strong and all the colas are super sticky. Hoping to see some fattening up over the next 2-4 weeks until harvest time. 4/29/23 @ 6pm - Both plants given 1 gallon of campden water + 1/2 tsp MC (4 grams) + 3/4 TSP Bloom + 1/2 TSP RECHARGE pH'd to 6.5 - First pistils starting to turn amber!

The grow was really easy and without any problems. The brunches were so heavy that the lady got bent to the side a bit. Totally sticky fat buds with a strong and sweet smell. I‘m really looking forward the dried and cured result. Really happy about that strain.
