Seedbooster Plus - PLAGRON.
Seedbooster Plus
0.1 mll
Kynareth Hello!! Welcome to this new adventure. In this diary, I will be growing the limited edition genetics from the GB Strains bank under a Mars Hydro LED light, the SP 150, which provides about 140 watts of nominal power and full spectrum. The grow tent will be a Trafika 60x60 and the growing medium will be 11L of coco in a white plastic pot. The coco will be a 3L ugro brick hydrated with water at a pH of 5.5 and without water recirculation. Germination will be done on paper, and I will use Plagron's Seedbooster since I've read several cases of germination issues with this genetics and I only have 3 seeds, so I'd like to use just one. As a novelty for the followers, I will write this diary in Spanish, my native language, given that the GB Strains seed bank mainly operates in Spain, and I believe also in France, and I think in the UK, but I'm not completely sure about that, and the idea is to make it as useful as possible for other people. In any case, remember that on the left side of the page, you can activate translation options to various languages. Regarding the genetics, I want to highlight that the bank indicates THC percentages of 30-33% under optimal conditions with a recommended medicinal use and intense relaxation effect. If I don't have any problems during the growing cycle and it develops correctly, I will conduct a cannabinoid analysis at the end of the drying process, and if this is inconclusive or shows values below 20%, which is a pretty substantial deviation, I will do another one after curing to verify. It's been quite a while (years) since I last grew a photoperiod-dependent genetics, but I hope not to have any issues. For nutrients, I will use GHE/Terra Aquatica, which I have already used with very good results (so far) in my first attempt with coco, and I will also add Fulvic (or Diamond Nectar) from the same company. I will germinate the seed once I have set up the grow tent in the coming days or weeks. I will also record the entire cycle and create a global and weekly time-lapse video to appreciate the plant's reactions to stimuli and continue improving the technique. The seed has germinated in 48 hours. I will leave it a little longer before moving it to the peat jiffy. It took a while, but the seed has finally germinated and is now in the jiffy in the tent. I've used the leftover water from moistening the paper for germination to feed it these first few days. When it shows its first leaves (not cotyledons), I will start with the feeding. Finally, it will be the GHE Flora series, not the specific one for coco. This is my second attempt with this genetics; in the first one, a watering timer failed and caused irrecoverable problems in the plant, so I discarded it.

Kynareth Day 5 and the plants are already showing their first pair of true leaves that practically triple in size compared to the cotyledons and have a nice green color. I will start fertilizing according to the growth chart and set the pH to 6 (a bit lower actually, but it will stabilize at 6 in the next few hours). The pH up and down that I use is from Boom Nutrients, which someone asked me about; I have the one from GHE but since I already have the doses figured out with Boom Nutrients, I use this one. In theory, GHE should be more stable, but I haven't had any issues with it. Day 10 - The plant continues its development; the shape of the leaves is a bit strange, but that sometimes happens with the first or second pair. I hope it corrects itself and isn't some weird mutation that gets worse. I've reduced the watering a bit to avoid over-saturating the coco and to make it easier for the roots to grow.

Kynareth The plant is developing well and it seems that the initial leaf deformation is subsiding. I'll wait until the next couple of leaves and then I'll do some topping and LST before putting up the scrog net.

Kynareth As you can see in the timelapse from last week, the plant is leaving behind those leaf growth problems and is getting faster, mainly helped by that great pair of leaves from the second node. I performed an apical cut right after the fourth node, as you can see in the images. I will apply LST when those two main branches are clearly visible, which I estimate will be in a couple of days, and then I will place the SCROG net (I estimate this will be around the fourth week of growth). Depending on how I see the net, I will either switch to the flowering cycle or leave it for another week of growth, but a maximum of 5 weeks of vegetative. Iโ€™m keeping the fertilization unchanged; thereโ€™s still quite a bit of nutrient solution in the reservoir, which keeps the pH close to 6 (6.07), and the EC has stabilized and risen a bit to 1.7, which is still a good value.

Kynareth day 27 - I pruned the lower and larger leaves so that when applying LST, more light reaches the branches. The goal is to achieve at least 8 colas. Next week, I will probably set up the SCROG net and switch to 12/12 for flowering. You can see some slight fertilization issues (excess) at the tips of the leaves, but it doesnโ€™t seem really concerning, as overall the plant has a very nice green, as can be seen in the photo of the cut leaves in more natural light. I also opened the dripper a bit more since I haven't identified any excess water in the tray for the last two days, and the coco is better when it drains to release excess salts.

Kynareth Week 5 day 35. The plant is clearly developing in an indica way. As you can see in the images, the apical pruning has caused deformed leaves to sprout again, although the overall health of the plant has not been affected. This will be the last week of vegetative growth; it should have been four weeks, but the first week did not develop properly. I have placed the scrog net to guide the colas, ideally aiming for 19 colas. I also cut two large leaves to improve light penetration, and I will probably do it again in week 7 or late week 6 to encourage branching. Day 36 - I changed the light cycle to 12-12 with the net quite full, and I also changed the nutrient dosage that I will add next week.

Kynareth Day 43 - The last internode is starting to clear up, indicating the beginning of pre-flowering. You can see a slight chlorosis at the tips, which is normal due to what I mentioned in previous weeks about the possible excess from the shape of the tips. With the change in nutrient solution, that has already been corrected and the leaves are perfectly normal; it's just that the damage, although slight, was already done, but it shouldn't get worse or affect the plant's development.

Kynareth day 48 - The plant is doing well, itโ€™s starting to stretch as part of the flowering process and has already surpassed the first net. Later on, I will place the second one which will support the weight and form the heavy bud tails. When I set up this second net, I will take the opportunity to defoliate the lower leaves since they wonโ€™t get light and without a fan, moisture can accumulate in that area and cause mold.

Kynareth day 71 - this week the buds are getting bigger and some orange tones have appeared in the hairs that give them a very appetizing look. as can be seen in the leaves, it's generating a large amount of resin. in some spots, there is some phosphorus deficiency. I attribute it to watering issues since I was away for a few days and the reservoir ran out. the good thing is that it shouldn't get worse and the damage is very localized.

Kynareth This week everything's good. The buds keep fattening up. Some signs of calmag issues there, but nothing serious, it's something relatively normal when growing in coco. I've trimmed some branches to let more light through to some colas.

Kynareth This week I haven't been able to take photos because I've been away, but the plant is doing well. Maybe next week I'll apply defoliation to allow more light to reach the lower buds and do some cleaning on the bottom due to humidity concentration issues.

Kynareth This week the buds are fattening up and you can tell that the hairs have changed color. One of these days I'll check the trichomes under the microscope to see how they're doing in that aspect. It's something that can't be conveyed through photos, but the buds are really hard. The harvest might be approaching; according to the bank, the flowering time is 56-63 days and we're at 51, so basically, depending on how the terpenes look, it'll be harvested sooner or later.

Happy Harvest Day!

Kynareth Harvested on day 100 after about 10 weeks of flowering - While trimming the plant, I discovered some mold on a few buds in the central leaf mass since the plant generates a considerable amount of branching. Despite having defoliated the lower parts several times, I hadn't identified that accumulation of plant material; I estimate it affected about 50-80 grams of lower buds, so it wasn't a huge loss. Before moving to drying, I checked the buds to ensure there was no further contamination, but that can never be guaranteed, so we'll see. Other than that, good genetics, quite a bit of resin, and the buds are really dense. Considering a defoliation of medium layers, I still see a scrog with this genetics as viable.

Coir can be quite iffy. If you continue to see any issues, might I suggest this product for veg cycle made by the same company, but it has the trace minerals already in it. Pretty good NPK Ratios too, in case you're interested. These were the best prices that I found.
