GoodTimesOrganics Hi dear community and welcome back! 💚🌱 We are proud to present the second strain from Good Times Genetics!
We present to you from the very beginning the cultivation of our first attempt at the DMO Grapefruit!
Where does this name come from?!
It all started with the fascination of one of our growers with the GMO genetics. He selected a genotype that exhibited a strong spicy aroma and a deep earthy and herbal flavor profile with a strong grapefruit-like and sour note.
Then our breeder Dewo had the idea to cross it with our long-cultivated Diesel x Afghani strain, as it also has a very herbal and earthy touch.
Additionally, this strain is very stable and has been growing for several generations in the Swabian Jura in Baden-Württemberg.
The D stands for Diesel, the M for Marjoram, and the O for Oregano 😁 (a good friend once said about the GMO)
And here you see the worldwide premiere of this crossbreed result in the first generation!
The goal of the cross is to breed a solid, bushy, diesel-heavy strain that has an earthy, spicy, and yet grapefruit-like touch.
The parent generation consists of the Diesel Afghani strain with 50% Sativa and 50% Indica content. The mother plant was a GMO Grapefruit with specifications of 90% Indica and 10% Sativa content.
Therefore, we have philosophized about which proportions will prevail in the cross. Thus, we refer to it as having a 70% Indica and a 30% Sativa content.
So we expect a slightly short-growing strain with little stretch in the flowering stage. We will see this in this diary.
The cannabinoid range should be somewhere between 15% to 20% THC.
We are selecting all males out in this grow, as we are starting the first test run. It is also regular/dioecious seeds.
Feel free to join us on the journey to discover this amazing strain.
Update: I have also decided to document two grows of the strain to discover a possible genome special.
Green greetings 🌱💚🍀

The growth form of the plants looks very homogeneous so far, but it's important to note that some grow a bit faster than others.
The stem width also varies a bit.
Overall, the young plants appear very compact, which suggests a certain indica dominance.
That is intentional.
I will continuously document different plants from the same breeding and filter out which two plants will be used for completing the diary after determining their sex.

GoodTimesOrganics Hi dear community! 💚
The second strain from Good Times Genetics. It's developing wonderfully, and there are very nice large and wide-spread leaves to see. A beautiful growth pattern combined with a strong indica dominance.
However, with this type, the side branches are a bit closer to the main stem than with the other plant.
Yesterday, the ladies were selected and planted in their new pots.
We're super excited to see how the plants continue to develop.
After next week's recovery, topping will follow.
The growing conditions in the grow tent are still at optimum and stable:

The second strain from Good Times Genetics. It's developing wonderfully, and there are very nice large and broad leaves to see. A beautiful growth pattern combined with a strong indica dominance.
After selecting and transplanting into the new pot, last week we went ahead with topping the plant.
This genotype develops rather close to the main stem, which is not what we desire in terms of growth behavior. Therefore, this type is simply being grown for the taste.
We are super excited to see how the plants continue to develop.
After the next week of recovery, another topping will follow.

The second strain from Good Times Genetics. It's developing wonderfully, and you can see very nice large and broad leaves. A beautiful growth pattern combined with a strong indica dominance.
This genotype is developing very homogeneously with even spacing between the side branches. This genotype is a bit shorter and has less vigorous leaf growth.
We are super excited to see how the plants continue to develop.

After the first week of flowering, the flower shoots are gradually developing, and the first stigmas are visible.
For nutrients, I used Greenhouse Feeding BioBloom and the corresponding enhancer.
The stem rub already smells strongly of sour, diesel-like nuances, with a slightly GMO-typical aroma.
The growing conditions in the grow tent are good due to the dry heating air, but it's already very dry:

GoodTimesOrganics Hi dear community and welcome back! 💚
The second strain from Good Times Genetics. Developing surprisingly different than expected.
A beautiful growth pattern combined with an underestimated stretch! The plant has put on a strong stretch of nearly 20 cm in the last 2 weeks.
This means that the Diesel Sativa genes are now fully kicking in.
So, more of a tendency towards 60% Indica, 40% Sativa.
After the second week of flowering, the flower shoots are developing stronger and the stigmas are continuing to form.
The stem rub already smells strongly of sour, diesel-like nuances, with a somewhat GMO-typical aroma.
The growing conditions in the grow tent are currently super again!

GoodTimesOrganics Hi dear community and welcome back! 💚
A beautiful growth pattern combined with an underestimated stretch! The plant has made a strong stretch of nearly 21 cm in the last 3 weeks.
This means that the Diesel Sativa genes have now fully kicked in.
After this week, however, the stretch will calm down, and you can see that the plant is now focusing on flower formation.
The trichomes are starting to sprout, and a sour smell is slowly emerging, just as desired.
The leaf shape is becoming slimmer on the upper shoots.
The flower shoots are developing more strongly, and the stigmas are really starting to develop rapidly.
With this genotype, the growth behavior is largely similar, only the main growth phase was characterized by slightly shorter internode distances.
In terms of smell development, the GMO genetics, in my opinion, come into play a bit more, as the sour grapefruit scent is currently coming through more.
The growing conditions in the grow tent are currently great!

After this week, the stretch completely calms down and you can see that the plant is now focusing solely on flower formation.
The trichomes are starting to sprout and a sour smell is slowly emerging, just as desired.
This week it was time to give the plant a compost tea from BiotabsNL, which I can only recommend to every organic grower.
The flower shoots are developing more and more, and the stigmas are continuing to form.
With this genotype, the growth behavior is largely similar, only the main growth phase was characterized by slightly shorter internode distances.
In terms of smell development, this type is now somewhat more diesel-heavy and doesn't have quite as sour a note.
The growing conditions in the grow tent are currently great again!

GoodTimesOrganics Hi dear community and welcome back! 💚
We're gradually heading towards the final flowering week.
It can be observed that the flower formation in the middle area of the colas has spread out significantly, while the plant becomes a bit thinner towards the top.
She is developing the flowers very diversely, ranging from thin and compact to broader, denser spots.
In this genotype, the growth behavior is somewhat Indica-dominant, as it didn't stretch much.
However, her smell is becoming increasingly intense, leaning towards grapefruit (GMO). As described, this aroma strongly comes from the GMO phenotype. However, there is also a slightly sweet and more fruity note coming through.
The growing conditions in the grow tent are currently great again!

It was time for the trichome check, and yes, it looks exactly like the plant is right in the 8-week flowering range.
Next week, it will finally be time, and the DMO Grapefruit goes under the scissors ✂️.
I have thinned the plant out a lot again, and it definitely shows a very pronounced flower structure. Absolutely in the XL range.
You can observe that the flower formation has spread strongly in the middle area of the colas, while the plant gets a bit thinner towards the top.
It forms the flowers very diversely, from thin and compact to broader, denser spots.
Its smell is now very pronounced, with a grapefruit note emerging as the prominent main note. This is rounded off with some skunky, acidic, and slightly onion/peppery notes. A slight sweetness component also comes through a bit.
The growing conditions in the grow tent are currently super again!

After checking the trichomes, it was time to harvest the DMO Grapefruit.
The plant has now completed exactly eight weeks of flowering, just as desired.
During this time, it made an enormous sprint in flower development, which wasn't easily observable.
A very impressive plant! It shows a huge and pronounced flower presence under its foliage. Absolutely in the XL range.
It's noticeable that the flower formation has spread significantly in the middle area of the colas, while the plant becomes somewhat thinner towards the top.
It develops the flowers in a very versatile way, from thin and compact to broader, denser areas.
Its smell is now very pronounced, with a grapefruit note emerging as a distinctive main note.
While cutting, there were also some gassy and slightly licorice-like notes with a hint of sweetness noticeable.
The growing conditions in the grow tent are currently great again!

DMO Grapefruit No.1 - Aroma is intense and has a great structure! The bud density is a bit airy, yet the structure is very uniform. The trichome formation is in the medium to pronounced range, and there are many more pronounced spots. The aroma profile is the real value of the plant. As the name suggests, a strong grapefruit scent comes to the forefront with nuances of licorice and gas/sour aromas. (I'm still waiting for the smoking experience after the curing) In any case, the combination is very spectrum-rich. The growth form still retains some characteristics of a classic Diesel, combined with the power of GMO...
