This is the start of my second grow and also second Northern Light Auto from RQS, the goal is to hit #1 in g/plant for that Strain. I didn't take as many notes as in the last grow but there are timelapses, some photos and metrics from probes. Started with 3 Seeds and then picked the 2 strongest. The System is a NFT System but due to the size of the tube and root growths the solution with submerge the roots ~70% later on. To combat that I use 3 small 1.5w air pumps, these are super silent, if one dies I got 2 more running and to be honest air pumps used in DWC systems are often oversized and rely on Broscience. In my Salad/Herb NFT Systems I don't use any air pumps and the plants are just fine and grow great. This time I added sprinklers to humidify the air inside the tube, slightly moisturize the Rockwool and speed up root growths. Spoiler: Was a great success :) The ratios for the fertilizers are not accurate in the following weeks, I have a 120l Reservoir that is filled 90-110l I top it up once or twice a week to sustain PH and EC, if you want to copy it just go by the EC and use the B (Calcinit) and A (Kristalon Blue/Orange) 50/50. I mix the solution myself with dry salts that I bought in bulk 25kg bags. 4l Water(distilled/RO preferably, tap water is OK) + 1kg salts mixes just fine, keep the solution dark and cool and it will stay stable for months. Dry salts don't expire if kept cool and dry so only mix what you need and keep the rest stored as dry salts. 40ml A + 40ml B is about 2EC and 6PH with my tap water, very similar to Canna, Plagron etc. isn't it? just with the twist that I pay ~20% of the known brands. P2O5, K2O, MgO etc. are always the same as long as they are produced by a good manufacturer, Yara is a world leader in fertilizer production just not to be found in you general hydroponics or hardware store. Any other known manufacturer is fine as well, pick the cheapest. Check Hoocho on Youtube to see a guide on how to mix your own solutions, it ain't that difficult trust me. From week 5 onwards I also use Oxygen granulate (KMPS, CAS-70693-62-8, 2KHSO₅ * KHSO₄ * K₂SO₄) if you want to use this check pool supply stores and buy the cheapest. Keep this one dry, cool and dark. I used a old pill bottle to keep some ready to go because it came in a 1kg container and I only need 2-4g per serving + the bottle has a silica pack in the cap. From week 6 onwards I used Haifa Grow Clean for Details check week 6, I use this one as dry salts and add it directly to the tank, it does not interact in a bad way with the solution. For meassurements I use a generic 8in1 Meter "PH-W218" branded by many companies, as usual, check stores and buy the cheapest. (Check week 1 for an image of it) I got mine from Aliexpress for ~70€ it uses the Tuya app so you can always check your metrics and export them aswell. The PH and EC probe are accurate and are giving me stable results for almost 1 year now, I re calibrate the PH probe once in a while and it is tops 0.15 off after a month, always double check your results with PH drops/paper. Bluelab is... A LOT more expensive for less value. For the timelapses I use 2 Tappo C210 2k Cameras, these have the ability to make the stream available trough RTSP so that you can access it trough a link in a browser and that way I snap a Screenshot with a raspberry pi :) after that I just render it with blender to a timelapse. Week 6 looking lovely

plant has been very easy to grow the smell is very strong seems to have a week to go. The plant seems to have a very big buds all over their branches and it is maturing at a very high rate of speed the smell is to die for but you got to keep an eye on the flowering stretch because it's quite large for the those who have small spaces now I'm growing in a tent 3 by 3 foot by 8 foot so they don't have much space to stretch and become monster in my tent everybody's fighting for light and space so if this is grow outdoors with a Canadian long hours of light in the summer and a little bit of vegetable grows indoors maybe two months it will become a truly huge plant in the outdoors the grower only needs to protect the plant so it doesn't get stressed out and doesn't had more weeks to outdoor grow ,for sure for the 1st of October you should have a decent amount high quality flower. I will continue to update have a happy grow.

Another week done not much has happened over the past week nothing seems to be getting any fatter the budz are still small and airy the orange sherbet have got a lot of bud on them but very spaced out the main colas don’t look as if they are going to be anything special but things could change over the next few weeks the big yield aren’t growing like they have done previous these 2 have stayed very short about 50cm not been able to do much LST with them been short both have plenty of budz on them but they are also very small needing these lot to fatten up so I can start on germinating the next lot for Christmas time well thanks for looking till next week 👍👍👍👍👍

10/31 - Harvested the short fattie (Halle Berry)..washed and hung to dry. 11/14 - Harvested the bushy one along with several other plants. This is the second time I've grown this strain, and had pretty much the same results. Excellent weed, but not a lot of it. Neither plant gave me any trouble. The short fat one came in pretty heavy considering she had no lower branching at all. Both plants produced very greasy, very pungent bud, covered in trichomes. The bushier one had no training and produced more, but wasn't as fat. I pressed some of it for the rosin, and it's delish. Very terpy.👍 Dry weights: A - 52g B - 71g Final thoughts: Will probably grow it again because it's my wife's favorite flavor, but I'd refer to find a strain that produces the same flavors but much heavier yields. Potency: 7/10 Yield: 5/10 Flavor: 8/10 Aroma: 9/10 Bag-appeal: 8/10 Bud Density: 7/10

Update

Temps got to 88 degrees as the highest. Night time temps ranged from 70-75 degrees. Leaves show small nutrient burn but nothing major. Still green. Bottom leaves are somewhat yellowing. Light defoliation at the beginning of week 3

SuperSativaSeedClub PurplePunchOG Auto Week 13 Weekly update on these two amazing ladies. This week I had some temperature swings from cold to hot but all in all they handled it like Champs. I checked the trichs today and only seeing mostly cloudy on the bigger one with still clear and cloudy on the one thats LST. I'll check later this week as I'm shooting for a 90/10 cloudy to amber. Hey now, hope everyone is having a great weekend. This Purple Punch didn't break soil until 4 days from getting wet. I ended up with a slightly mutated Purple Punch Seedling as she has 3 Cotyledons instead of 2. I have friends who have had this and they told me they turned out just fine yield and terp wise just really based more on the phenotype than the fact that it was genetically mutated. She is in a Solo Cup in ProMix/Perlite under the Spectrum X at 30% Power which is 230 Watts in V1 or Veg Mode. Very happy so far with the light as it is keeping all nodes tight and all leafs green and pointed upwards. I will also this Purple Punch's roots to fill the solo cup and then I will transplant her into a final 3.4 gallon airpot and hook her up to an auto feeding halo coming from a reservoir. When a plants roots are just fertigated in soil they are lacking in oxygen until some drying takes place. In Coco Coir, they have the perfect ratio of H20/Oxygen just after watering and as long as the Coir stays somewhat saturated. This is why high frequency fertigation pays off in coco coir. My plan is to top her one time by day 28 or so at the latest, or at least before she starts flowering, so whatever node that will be depends on her growth between now and then. Happy New Year!!! Over the past week I did some HST bending. The branches are starting to recover and straighten out after the HST now. I still have some issues with pale leaves and a few spots here and there. I’m going to try adding some Dolomite Lime with the next watering and think that should help with the paleness. I’m also going to up the amount of CalMag and Mammoth P to see if that helps with the spotting. I’m not sure if I should see the spotted leaves recover or if the spots will remain. I suspect the spots will remain on the existing leaves regardless of what I do at this point, but hopefully no new spotting will develop. The lights went off before I was done taking pics, so some pics will look a little different. The pics with the lights on I had to color correct, they still look a little more on the yellow side than in reality, but much closer to reality than the pre-color corrected versions. Once the lights went off I turned the flash on for my camera, those pics did not need any color correction. You can see the differences in the pics of all plants, the first 2 are color corrected with the lights on, the last 2 are taken with a flash and no color correction. I read several books on cannabis over the past few days, some good, some not so much. One that I liked was “Marijuana Cultivation Reconsidered: The Science and Techniques For Huge Indoor Yields” by Read Spear. This book is available on Amzon’s Kindle Unlimited service, which costs $9.99/month, but they offer a free 30 day trial (which is what I’m using at the moment). Reed’s book is broken down into 3 sections, the first and third go fairly deep into the science behind growing, he does a pretty good job at breaking it down in easy to understand terms, but I had to read several sections 2 or 3 times to really get it (or just move on with as much understanding as I could digest). The second section is the nuts and bolts of growing. Most was a review but there were several topics he touched on I hadn’t thought of in a while. And again its well written. He also offers the section only in a separate book called “Small Spaces, Big Yields”. If you are not interested in going deeper into the science behind growing, “Small Spaces, Big Yields” is what I would recommend (if interested in reading books on cannabis). I took some notes while reading and I’m going to add some of these notes in my dairy updates over the next few weeks. This week I’m going to include a note on electrical, this should be a fairly basic concept, but it is super important IMO… “Electrical Items In a sealed grow room or in a tent, you will have water pooling on the floor from time to time. There is no avoiding this. Mop it up when you see it, and never put your electrical gear directly on the floor. Never. Not even for a moment. In fact, let me stress this point in bold capital letters. ALL ELECTRICAL GEAR MUST BE MOUNTED SECURELY ON A WALL OR TENT POLE.” -Read Spear I’ll add more did bits like this in my diaries over the upcoming weeks. If anyone has any good book recommendations please let me know in the comments. I’m looking for books that might not be as popular as the ones by Jorge Cervantes or Ed Rosenthal (I’ve read those). I did just order “True Living Organics” by The Rev which I’m looking forward to reading. But I’m looking for more. I really want to step it up and learn as much as possible. They got huge. Nice green leaves and smell great. I bend the fan leaves a little to get more light in the canopy. They love the nutes. We having a great time! Transplanted 3 to 3 gallons pots. They love the air. Topped(fim’d) one. She getting lanky but I feel she’ll snap back strong.

I seperated them now. The bigger one stays in the 90ltr Pot. The other got in a 13ltr pot. Later in 20ltr. Topping the small on in 1 or 2 weeks. Than LST and 12/12. Its a bit hot the next weeks. Have to look more after the plants.

01/03/19 The girls popped, 1 didnt make it so we have 2 left. We got lucky again and got another trident! Hopefully she keeps producing 3 branches at every node. 24/03/19 Today ill germinate the seeds getting ready for the coming run. I wont be ph'ing my water unless my soil's ph is off. I read all over 420magazine about not ph'ing your water when growing in soil. This explains why my first grow was such a success and started having ph issues as soon as i started ph'ing my feeds. Ill keep my soil in check to make sure it stays in the 6.5 range. I hope this grow will go better then my last one. I have high hopes for this grow🤞. Ill be using smartpots to allow max oxygen to the roots and so ill be able to water throughly without any issues. Wish me luck.

02 October 2018 - Day 99 3rd day of flush and we see her begin to grow nicely. Day 100 - Happy lady as she gets densier and begins to really smell. Day 101 - She is maturing lovely. Day 102 - Orange pistols curl. She is on her way. Day 103 - Mature and ready. has thickened up significantly. Day 104 - Water topped up and pH balanced 5.4 Day 105 - Trimmed after the video.
