Didn’t expect the stretch to be so huge given the genetics. Like 10 cm in 3 days! Let’s see. Put in a dehumidifier, trying to reach optimal humidity of 60% for this stage. 02/01 The stretch is really strong. 75 cm by 02/01 04/01 I have been doing just minimal pruning/defoliation during the veg stage. I guess it was the reason why the stretch is so strong as the main colas try to reach the light. And there is a lot of weak side-shoots which make the plants really messy. Did some minor pruning today, because I don’t want to stress the plants much during early flowering. I’m going to remove all the side-shoots in two weeks when the stretch is over. Next time I should do more pruning early, before the flip.

Week 10...The plants are looking good! Took out the microscope to look at the trichomes...Starting to get milky but still another week or two before the harvest! Started flushing the plant this week!

Pretty basic week. I transplanted the Green Tea plant from a Jiffy Pot to a 1 gallon fabric pot. The plant probably could have stayed in the Jiffy Pot for another week or so but some of my plants that were a little bigger when I transplanted them were packed with roots. I just figured I'd transplant a bit earlier to give my roots more space sooner.

I started to scrog The Church (left side of the closet). I topped the plants after the fourth node. Of the 4 Churches, I didn't properly top two of them. These two are looking like they are developing the main cola as well as the two side colas equally, so it seems there are three of them. Serious 6 is growing slowly. Two of the plants are staying small and scrawny. I'm wondering if that is the phenotype or if I messed up. And to top it all of, there was an accident with the Autopots :-(( This is the second time it happened in my AP system: The float gauges in one of the trays got stuck and the water kept flowing. The tray overflowed and the water ran all over my wooden floor. This also happened at night and I only discovered it the next morning. Luckily, the float became unstock at one point of time and the waterflow stopped. If it hadn't, 30 Liters of water in my tank would have caused serious issues. I was going to start the 12/12 flowering cycle next week, but looking at the Serious 6s I will postpone it by at least another week. That way the Church can scrog longer and I assume won't fill up the net as quickly as Serious 6 anyway, since it more bushy compared to the Serious 6 sativas.

Fo' Twenny Back with another update on our "Grandaddy Purple" from Blimburn Seeds! 8/24: I did some selective defoliation to help increase light penetration. Next watering will be a flush with 2 tsp/gal of Fox Farm's flush agent SledgeHammer. A flush is recommended after week 3 in the Fox Farm Feeding chart. I figure the recommended flush will do some good considering I have a lot of coco in the mix and there are small amounts of salt fertilizer in my schedule. She is really starting to do some stretching and she has an abundance of growing shoots. She has a few leaves that look textured or "crinkled". I tried doing some searches and not sure if this is due to a virus or some other factor. She is center in the tent and the only plant being grown in a fabric pot. She has also been vegging longer than any of the other plants in the garden. She was a survivor from previous run when I almost killed all my plants (did kill one) trying to kill so spider mites. This is the only plant presenting these abnormalities. I gave a lot of detail about the abnormal leaves because I am hoping someone may be able to help me troubleshoot. 8/28: Flushed the medium with tap H2O run through 2 KDF filters with 2 tsp/gal of Fox Farm Sledgehammer flushing agent and pH adjusted to 6.2. I started by giving 5 gallons. After checking the PPM of the runoff I ended up adding 5 more gallons mixed to same specifications. 10 gallons total was shared by 3 large flowering photoperiod cultivars and 1 smaller autoflower. She probably ended up with about 3 gallons give or take. I didn't measure how much each plant received. I just kept flushing each and checking runoff until it was under 1600 ppm. She's really ramping up the trichomes making her flowers look like their sugar coated! 🤩 I watered her today with 1.5g of de-chlorinated water with 1 tsp/g of unsulfured molasses added which was then ph'd to 6.4 @ 72℉. The molasses will give the microbial colony some additional food as well as supplying micro-nutrients to the plant. I finished out the daily maintenance giving her a check over and turning her pot 1/4 turn to ensure she gets light to every inch of her. 10/1- Yesterday was a 'no water' day as her pot was still fairly heavy to lift. Today she was watered with her usual of 1.5g of de-chlorinated water which was ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉. Her flowering continues to impress me with her trichome production covering her flowers with 'frost' she's a sight for sore eye's! 😍 She's looking to be on track for a 11-12 week finish and will be an epic cultivar when she's done! 10/3- With Week Seven coming to a close we've got 4-5 weeks to go for this lady finish and she's right on track, looking like a Rock Star! 🤩 I watered heavy yesterday and added 1 tsp/g of Unsulfured Molasses to the 1.5g of de-chlorinated water which was then ph'd to 6.6 @ 72℉. Flipped to flower on 01/25. Pretty easy week and she stretched as I hoped she would. Almost as tall as my other plant in the tent that's 2 1/2 weeks older! She's healthy and strong. Excited to see what she does in the flowering stage :)

Adjusting Nutrient Levels Given their positive response to the nutrients, I decided to continue with 2/3 of Terra Aquatica Tripart feeding schedule, adjusting slightly to meet their increasing demands. Here's the updated feeding plan for this week: CalMag: 2.5 ml/l (Starting EC before adding nutrients: 0.50 mS/cm) Grow: 1.5 ml/l Bloom: 1.0 ml/l Micro: 0.5 ml/l EC: 1.2 mS/cm (600 ppm PPM-500/TDS) pH: 6.0 Each plant is watered with approximately 20% runoff to ensure there's no nutrient buildup in the coco mix. I will maintain this nutrient level until the pre-flowering stage to avoid the risk of nutrient burn due to over-fertilization. Weather Improvements and Adjustments The weather has been steadily improving, with temperatures expected to rise to around 25°C starting Wednesday, accompanied by abundant sunshine. This upcoming forecast is excellent news for my plants, as I anticipate a final growth spurt before flowering begins. Every centimeter of growth counts at this stage, and I'm optimistic about maximizing their potential under these favorable conditions. Strengthening with Wind Exposure On days with good weather, I move the plants out of the greenhouse to expose them to natural wind. This practice helps strengthen their stems, improving overall stability. Additionally, the wind creates a more challenging environment for pests, helping to keep them at bay. Smart Watering Strategy I only water the plants when the pots feel noticeably lighter. This encourages the roots to search for water, promoting the development of a stronger and more extensive root system. This method helps ensure the plants remain healthy and resilient. Pest Management: Observations and Actions At the beginning of the third week, I noticed dark discolorations on the undersides of some leaves. A few days later, these spots turned into yellow patches. I am still unsure about the cause of these spots. To prevent a potential insect infestation, I sprayed all the leaf surfaces, both top and bottom, with a mildly dosed neem oil mixture. Since then, the spots have not spread further. Because these discolorations are only affecting the lower leaves, they are not causing me significant concern at the moment. Regular inspections and preventive measures are crucial to maintaining the health of the plants and ensuring that any issues are caught early. Decision Against LST At first I have decided against using LST. But some of your comments made me try some LST on two of my plants. I choose Tangie and Gorilla cookies to try out and learn some stuff. Blue dream and Banana purple punch stay without any training.
