Week 4 - It’s Friday again, and that means it's update day! Another week has passed, and as usual, there's plenty to report. A lot has happened, and once again, I’m bringing you along on my journey as a total beginner in the world of growing. Every week is a new learning experience, and I’m excited to share what’s been going on in the tent as my Amnesia Zkittlez and Gorilla Cookies continue to grow. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Key Growing Parameters -Humidity: 43-55% -VPD: Max 1.4 -Airflow: Always active at level 1, auto-adjusts when needed -Day Temperature: 25-26°C -Night Temperature: 22°C -Light Cycle: 20 hours light / 4 hours dark -Lamp: IONBOARD S24 from AC Infinity (240W) Watering Schedule: -Day 24: 1 liter -Day 26: 1 liter -Nutrients are applied with every watering Light Adjustments: -Light distance now at 50 cm -Intensity increased to level 10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Growth Update The most noticeable change this week has been the incredible growth of the plants. I’ve uploaded some new photos for everyone to see, and it’s amazing how much they’ve shot up compared to last week. The differences in growth behavior between the Amnesia Zkittlez and Gorilla Cookies are becoming even more pronounced. The Amnesia Zkittlez has more than doubled in height since last week, shooting up and stretching outward. Meanwhile, the Gorilla Cookies hasn’t grown as much in height, but it has become noticeably rounder and bushier, almost like a pufferfish. It's fascinating to watch these plants develop in such different ways. While the Zkittlez focuses on vertical growth, the Gorilla Cookies is spreading out horizontally, forming a dense, compact structure. All around the plant, small flower sites are emerging, extending from within the plant and beginning to take shape. This difference in growth styles really highlights the unique characteristics of each strain, and I’m excited to see how they continue to evolve. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Training: LST and Defoliation This week, I’ve also focused heavily on training the plants using Low-Stress Training (LST) and some selective defoliation to optimize light exposure and encourage better growth. I applied LST more aggressively over the past few days, using clips to gently bend the stems of individual branches outward, almost to a 90-degree angle. This technique has helped the plants spread out horizontally, allowing more light to reach the inner and lower branches. I’ve been adjusting the clips nearly every day to refine the structure and ensure that the light penetrates deeper into the canopy. The goal is to encourage outward growth and create more space for the lower branches to thrive. In addition to LST, I began selectively removing leaves. I started with the first set of fan leaves, followed by leaves growing inward toward the plant’s center. These were either shading promising bud sites or simply not contributing to the plant’s energy needs. I’ve also removed the lower bud sites, which likely wouldn’t have developed into anything substantial. This way, the plants can focus their energy on the more promising, higher-up buds that are receiving better light. Throughout the defoliation process, I’ve been careful not to remove too many leaves at once. I’ve only taken off leaves that were either blocking key bud sites or were small and shaded, ensuring that the plant still has enough foliage to continue its healthy growth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nutrients and Watering Routine There haven't been any changes in my nutrient schedule or the way I water the plants this week. I’m still using the same BioBizz nutrients at the recommended dosages with each watering, and the watering process itself remains unchanged. Each plant receives a consistent 1 liter of water every couple of days, and so far, the plants are responding well. However, based on some recommendations I’ve received, I’m planning to introduce CalMag from BioBizz into my watering routine over the course of the next week. This will help ensure that the plants have enough calcium and magnesium, which are essential for strong cell structure and nutrient uptake, especially as we move further into the flowering phase. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Personal Reflections and Lessons Learned As I progress through this grow, I’m realizing how much more there is to learn, especially when it comes to managing light exposure and training techniques. It’s been rewarding to see how the plants respond to LST and defoliation, but I’m still figuring out the perfect balance. Every small change seems to make a big difference, and I’m constantly amazed by how quickly these plants adapt. Being a beginner, this process has been both challenging and exciting, and I can’t wait to see how the flowering stage develops. This journey has been a humbling experience, reminding me that growing plants isn’t just about following steps, but also about observing and learning from the plants themselves. Every day brings new insights and challenges, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see these changes reflected in the health and growth of the plants. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looking Ahead In the next week, I’ll continue to monitor the pre-flowering phase closely. I expect the water and nutrient demands to increase even more as the plants transition into full flowering, so I’m preparing to increase the watering amount to 1.2 liters per plant soon. I’ll also be keeping an eye on the structure of the plants, especially the differences between the Gorilla Cookies and Amnesia Zkittlez. I may begin defoliating some of the lower leaves to give the plants more room to breathe and allow light to penetrate deeper into the canopy. There’s a lot of excitement ahead as the flowering phase approaches, and I’m eager to see how the plants respond to these new stages of growth. She looks a lot like a pure indica already, very pretty :) Her root system is developing amazingly as well! Week 9 .......... Flower Week.........June 6 to 12, 2020 ........ Days 57 to 63 from germination She took a lot of shape this week and buds are swelling. She has reacted well with Massive and has increased her nodal spacing. Now she needs to work bulking up and filling in that spacing😀👍 A little more leaf strip at the end of the week to let more light into the middle of her. Focussed on the leaves on the inside of her and left a number of the fan leaves on the perimeter of her to help with sugar production. Her hairs have never really been long but the buds are swelling in nicely. They started off a little small but have grown a lot wider in the last week.......as expected in week 9. Starting to see some possible nutrient issues forming as she is aging and some of her leaf tips are starting to curl down a bit. Red hairs have started so we should be less than three weeks to go and guess at roughly 2 weeks to go. Will be feeding next week but that might be the end......see what the week brings. Environment has been hovering at 79 degrees and 61 percent humidity for most of the week. Yeast and sugar CO2 in use. Still feel there is going to be trade off battling the pH issues of the pots by feeding her 4.5 water and feed. I have to keep it that low to have a runoff of 6.6pH🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 Going to start letting the pH drift higher the next couple of days though and give a couple of waterings at 5.6 to ensure she is taking up enough phosphorus and potassium. The frost coming out on this girl now but she is a little slower coming on. Anticipate the last two weeks here should see good frost coming out. Have not even really looked at it too much yet to be honest. Changed up some of the supplements this week and added in some Advanced Nutrients Big Bud and Overdrive. Always liked Overdrive and when moving the bottles had more than I realized so figured I would change it up a bit......she is already fighting pH issues so no further harm. She is a very pretty little girl and she has beautiful shape. Not bending over her top seems to have been okay for this girl. June 7, Day 58 VPD - 1.2 7L water - 285ppm and 4.4pH......checking pH in medium Runoff was 580ppm with 6.8pH Hairs are whiter now and buds are wider and stacking. June 8, Day 59 VPD - 1.2 Dry out day....... She is dark and bushy. June 9, Day 60 VPD - 1.2 4L Feed - Sensizym, Rezin, Vitathrive, Liquid Weight, Massive, Terpinator, Dual Fuel. 1150ppm and 4.2pH.......pulling down a little more since last runoff number. Fair bit of runoff from the feed. Starting to fatten up a bit more.....branches are looking larger. June 10, Day 61 VPD - 1.2 3L Feed - Overdrive, Rezin. 485ppm and 4.5pH Just some supplements and feed tomorrow. Her side branches are reaching up more and increasing the nodal spacing. Now she needs to fill that gap in😃👍 Noticing a pattern with Massive and nodal spacing????? June 11, Day 62 VPD - 1.2 Dry out day....... June 12, Day 63 VPD - 1.2 4L Feed - Terpinator, Overdrive, Rezin, Vitathrive, Sensyzime, Liquid Weight, Dual Fuel. 1380ppm and 4.5pH Hitting her and Sweet n Sour harder as they get closer to the end. She is 19” tall now and 24” wide Leaf strip to increase light penetration......lots of small leaves. Tricomb production getting going now. Nice little Cannabis plant😋😋😋

D71/F24 - 11.29 - There's not much to say about these two. They didn't even hiccup after the defoliation, though it does appear their stretch has just about finished. They both have fat greasy prebuds right now, and the Passion Berry has particularly long pistils. Big week here. Got the girls transplanted to their 7 gallon pots. First time with pots this big. Gonna really let them grow. Got a little water with BT and mycorrhiza.

Day 36 11/6 - General: She keeps going up, and you can see more and more pistils everywhere. Techniques: Made some adjustments to the tallest and longest arms, tried to level everything and did what I thing is my last defoliation. Maybe another one a few days before I chop her down. But at this stage, I think we're done. Feeding: After last night feeding, she had a lot of water in the bottom of the pot, so I emptied it and today there's no food for her. One day abstinence, just a little mist before lights on. Smell: #3 still win the show and is 9 days behind. But she has a smell, very light/mild. Temps and RH recorded today: 29c - 20c 88% - 41% Pests and plagues: Nothing to record, just took all out of the grow and cleaned the floor with a proper disinfectant I have home, and washed all plates from the pots, as I do every week. Day 37 12/6 - General: Accentuated growth of pistils overnight. She's growing steady and healthy, looks happy in the given conditions. With this warm days, I'm struggling again with higher temps and low RH. Even with an humidifier using 7 liters of water every 24h, the light 3/4 from the top of the tent, the extractor on - regulated for 25c max and full on.. I hope it doesn't get any worse s if this levels keeps or lowers, I'll definitely have problems in the grow. Techniques: Another few leaves were gone. She really likes to grow leaves and can't imagine her without lst and defoliation. Feeding: Gave her the week 5 schedule, according to biobizz schedule. Tomorrow will do the same and maybe from monday will start going over, depending on her response. Smell: With the development of all the pistils, she gained a new aroma. Very pleasant but still very 'green'. #3 still ahead on smell Temps and RH recorded today: 30c - 18c 69% - 30% Pests and plagues: Nothing to record. Day 38 13/6 - General: She keeps stretching in a good rhythm! A lot of leaf growth lately, that made me broke my own promise of not defoliate her more. Well I did it again. Regarding the heating and RH problems, after a full morning and afternoon working inside the grow and outside, they're finally solved now. I didn't have the thermo-hygrometer in the right place, and made some adjustments in the setup that brought me back to desired values. Having the fans in the right place and speed and the same with extractor made all difference. Techniques: Another few leaves were gone. A handful. Move all the the plant around a little, to get more light and air around. Feeding: Gave her the week 6 schedule, according to biobizz schedule. Tomorrow will do the same and maybe from monday will start going over, depending on her response. Smell: With the development of all the pistils, she gained a new aroma. Very pleasant but still very 'green'. #3 still ahead on smell Temps and RH recorded today: 30c - 18c 63% - 28% Pests and plagues: Nothing to record. Day 39 14/6 - General: Good general growth. Going to stop with the training, to let them go up. It's getting tight in there. Pistils are whiter and longer, lots of new foliage. On the temperatures, still not happy with overall temps, that can easily go up to 30c. And that's way too much. Happy with RH values at the moment, but not so much with temps. Start to think I have a nice couple plants to make a SCRoG, and will eventually consider it during the week, while the plant grows. May be a nice way to support the weight if needed. Techniques: Bent the tallest arms around, like an arch, to even it out. More foliage removed. I feel I could just strip off her fan leaves. It's dangerously addictive to cut this leaves and to try to make the best light-surface possible. Feeding: Reacting well to the nutes given so far. I've increased slowly the amounts, to avoid overfeeding and other related problems. Gave her the "week 6 biobizz schedule", with a 1ml/L extra of Top-Max. Tomorrow will do the same and maybe from Wednesday/Thursday will start going over, depending on her response. Smell: Nothing new since yesterday. Temps and RH recorded today: 30c - 18c 87% - 30% Pests and plagues: Nothing to record. Day 40 15/6 - General: She's getting taller. Today didn't touch the plant at all, been just around the tent trying still to get the perfect environment, which is not being that easy task to accomplish. Got it going very well, steady temp and RH (25 celsius, 45%) until the afternoon when the high temperatures outside thrown the temperature values to the 30c for some minutes. She looks healthy, developing properly, and seems to react well to higher dosages of nutes. Techniques: Just checked everything out. Nothing done in this area. Feeding: The medium looks good enough to skip a day on the feeding. The pot feels heavy enough to wait at least 12+ hours. Smell: With the increase of the heat and RH going down, the smell got a bit more intense, but again, still all very light on the nose right now. Still behind #3 Temps and RH recorded today: 30c - 19c 71% - 36% Pests and plagues: Nothing to record. Day 41 16/6 - General: Pistils are growing evidently. The whole plant under the light looks very well. After 48h without watering, today was time to feed her again. Funny was expecting to be drinking more than a liter a day. It's the second day I don't touch the plants, and will keep this way until tomorrow, last day of this week. Techniques: Just checked everything out. Nothing done in this area. Feeding: Week 7 Biobizz Feeding schedule (as above). Smell: Nothing new to add. Still behind #3 Temps and RH recorded today: 29c - 21c 60% - 38% Pests and plagues: Nothing to record. Day 42 17/6 - General: Another day without touching her. I'll let her do her thing for a week and then I'll see what to do. Right now she looks so nice I won't touch. Overall she's getting bigger and pistils are getting bigger by the day, it's full flowering now. Finally get a hold on temps and RH, which makes me super happy. Today I'll delay the feeding for 12h, fastening her for 36h. Techniques: Just checked everything out. Nothing done in this area. Feeding: Nothing to record. Hello Diary, It's time for another round. I am continuing with F1 strains since I am delighted with Medusa F1. This time I will have three different strains on the "Farm" Apollo, Milky Way and Titan. I will keep separate diaries for each strain, and this one is dedicated to Apollo F1. First, here is some information about the strain itself. As usual, I prepare everything I need for planting in advance. I still use Air-pots because they are really great. For the soil, I used BioBizz - Light Mix, which I filled 2/3 of the container and then added the Organic booster in pellets, Mycorrhiza and Rhizobacter. I mixed everything together well with the soil and filled the container to the top. I soaked the earth well with 2 liters of water, made a small hole, put the seed and lightly covered it with earth. The conditions on the Farm are good, the temperature is around 25 degrees while the humidity is around 50%. I think that after sprouting I will put a humidifier to increase the humidity. 23/04/2023 I sprinkled some water on the surface of the earth to let them know where they should go. 24/04/2023 Apollo F1 sprouted like its other two roommates. 26/04/2023 First watering. I regulated the p.H. of water at 6.0 and watered the plant with maybe 0.5 liters of water. That's all for this week, see you soon.

Day 11: Watered each plant with 0.1l with nuts 465 ppm, 987 us/cm, 0.9 EC Lights at 35% The strawberry banana seedlings was very late in coming out of the ground, I had to give the helmet a hand to get it out, through 2 or 3 drops of water. One of the seeds is not good, it grew poorly, I put a Gorilla Cookies to replace it, also from fadtbuds. Let's see how it goes Day 12: The strawberry bananas are recovering well, one of the seeds is starting to get normal leafs, sounds perfect Day 13: Watered each plant with 0.25L with nuts 480 ppm, 1027 us/cm, 1 EC Lights at 50% Day 16: Watered each plant with 0.3L with nuts 668 ppm, 1423 us/cm, 1.4 EC Performed foliar callmag while the lights were off

Day 49 - Had to put the 3 Girl Scout cookies on a 12/12 light cycle to get them to switch to flower for some reason, first time I have had that happen with autos but all the plants are doing good, 2 of my strawberry pies are showing a little calmag deficiency but overall they are doing great and getting extremely frosty!
