Greetings my dear Jungletamers, So a major surprise came when @MarsHydroLED contacted us and asked if would like to try out their new SP 3000 light. Being a fan of Mars Hydro for years, we of course accepted their offer. We are totally in love with this light. I was when I saw it in another grower's setup and was in awe of its output and results. With many lessons learned from the previous grow, a mighty producing strain in the form of Expert Seeds Gorilla Glue #4, a.k.a Expert Gorilla's and a tweaked super soil mixture, we are setting out to hopefully get over a gram per watt, preferably 1.5. The Setup A 4.5 (140 cm) x 2(70) x 6.2 (200) grow tent, giving me a .98 m2 workspace. This space is customized to my needs. A standing fan will provide airflow through the whole grow, a top fan will help guide cooler air past my lights onto the grow. 3 56 ltr pots will be the home for the plants when they are 2 weeks old, up to then in smaller jars. The Light The leading role and star of the show will be played by the Mars Hydro SP-3000, so kindly provided by MarsHydroLED, which we will test and review here and I might say, endorse. I'm very careful with who I endorse and support these days, but a company with that many wins in design, I'm talking ever since their first range came out in 2009 these guys have been raising the bar for the whole industry, I did not hesitate to support this leading brand. The first days was with my old LED light, and when i switched to the new light, they suffered from light burn and high temps adjusting it. They are looking crusty, but we will get through it." Let's remember, in week 6 one of my king's tart had been broken in 2 because of the tension due to my bad LST. This plant grows much taller than the others. I'm trying to lower his height by doing HST. Currently she does not seem to complain about it. I preferred to remove my net this week, to more easily access my plants and water them. I hope the branches will hold I cut a lot of leaf this week. I hear different opinions that say it's beneficial others not... Day 37 (from sprout): the last two days, were really hot and the humidity increased to an uncomfortable value of 60-70%. Today I tried to lower the humidity with more ventilation, keeping the tent open and reinstalling a pot cover I had previously removed from the pot in the back. Furthermore, I made sure to give the girls another intense trim.

Week6 of bloom, feeding Cal-mag+Floranova Bloom, both at 1tsp/gal. Each plant receives a glug or two from a 1gallon mixture. Runoff is removed. New Clones of different phenos have entered the arena! Happy growing!

Week 21 of the Pineapple Upside Down has been a slow, steady week of adaptation. Nothing dramatic happened, but this phase is crucial, because the plant is still adjusting to the new light spectrum. At the start of the week, I had bumped the PPFD up to around 500. But it became obvious pretty quickly that she wasn’t handling that intensity well. The apex looked tired, the leaves were curling downward like a soft saddle, and the whole plant was signaling that the metabolic shift wasn’t complete yet. So I made the decision to step the intensity back down to 300 PPFD. A gentler light, less metabolic pressure, and a better environment for the plant to recalibrate after the spectrum change. These adaptation phases always take time— forcing it only delays the recovery. Over the next few days, I started noticing some very subtle signs. The apex seems to be lifting again, and the leaves that were curling now look like they’re slowly opening back up. It’s still too early to confirm anything, so I’m keeping expectations realistic. Right now, visual impressions are all we have, and the plant still needs space to stabilize. For this stage, the strategy is simple: no adjustments, no extra stress, no forced progression. We keep the light at 300 PPFD and let her rebuild her momentum naturally. Only when she gives a clear, confirmed sign of vigor—not just a hint— will we start considering the transition to flower. So Week 21 was a quiet-looking week, but an important one metabolically. The plant is processing the spectrum change, resetting its rhythm, and hopefully setting the foundation for a clean, strong pre-flower phase. We’ll check back next week to see if the recovery continues and whether she’s finally ready to move forward. 😎

Radical Juice – Week 4 of Flowering The Radical Juice is looking amazing! 🌿 The buds are starting to form beautifully, and the scent is becoming more noticeable with every day! 🌸 The plants are doing great and are getting more and more frosty as time goes on. The first trichomes are appearing, and I’m already excited about the upcoming harvest! ✨ The stretch seems to be slowing down now, and the plant is focusing more on bud development. Everything is progressing as expected. I’m still only using water, and I’m letting the soil and the microorganisms do the work. 🌱 As for the clone trial, the clone that received my homemade fertilizer with every watering is noticeably bigger and healthier than the other clones that didn’t get it.
