Woche 5 03.08.24 - 10.08.24 Das Wachstum geht ungehindert weiter....! Diesmal konnte ich leider keine Fotos machen, da ich in der Woche wenig nach den Pflanzen schauen konnte. Dafür kleine Zeitraffervideos von der Zeltkamera. Die Pflanzen zeigen leichte Anzeichen einer Überdüngung. Daher wurde diese Woche nur bei jeder zweiten bis dritten Bewässerung gedüngt. Außerdem wurde die Beleuchtung umgestellt von der Lumii auf 2x Sanlight Evo 120er da sie endlich nach mehrmonatiger Verspätung angekommen sind. Die Werte Temperatur, Luftfeuchtigkeit und VPD füge ich nachträglich noch ein. Die Behandlung mit dem Neemöl bringt leichte Besserung. Ab Montag kommen noch Nematoden zusätzlich mit in die Box, da ich ab jetzt nicht mehr das Neemöl benutzen möchte aufgrund der langsam voranschreitenden Blüten.

1/23/23 Well everything’s in flower now so I’m changing the journal to flower in the perpetual garden. Added humidifier. I top dressed everything w buildasoil top dress and build a bloom. Watering everything w the Q watering agent as well. It’s all taking off beautifully. I tossed a buncha lady bugs in there to help w the thrips. Also got spinosad but not sure if I can use it now with the lady bugs. We’ll see how it goes this week. Mandarin cookie Doing well, bushing out and up more. Stopped lst bc it’s getting very bushy and I need to defoliate. But waiting until there’s more stretch bc it’s a small little bush and I don’t want to take away too many fan leaves bc they have thrips. Would rather allow for more light to be absorbed. Head knock Looking like the best one after it was the safest! So much flower so many trichs. Fan leaves are all sorts of colors. It’s really poppin off. I defóliate da but so the lower flowers could pop through and they’re really colorful. I’d grow this guy again for sure. Might actually see it there are anymore clones avail. Headknock 2 We got big in veg. Defoliated a bit and got it to a great place before moving to flower tent. But ultimately I’m ready to flip it even if it’s kinda smaller than I’d want. Probably need a stronger light in veg tent to keep them up to par when moving to flower. Pre bloomed and moved to flower. Haven’t seen any trichs but it’s only been in flower since Sunday. Secret scone Finally looking like it’s supposed to with happy buds and flowers coming along. Thrips really. Did some damage to this guy and he went thru it with all the mishaps since September. Finally looking good. Sabowaka Tepremental little bitch. Starting to show trichs. Gave it too much water and it was sitting next to humidifier tube so old growth was not looking too hot. Cutting back in water bc he wonders drink fast enough. As Barnyard apples Got massive in veg just like headknock. Really happy with it and can’t wait to see how it flowers over the next month.

Flower18, riego con 6.2 pH y EC 2.2, pequeña defoliación. Flower22, riego con 6.5 pH y 3.0 EC. Hoy las plantas me han sorprendido, están creciendo mucho sus flores, se están viendo muy llenas. Me preocupa que por el espacio muy justo, puedan generar hongos, tendré que colocar tutores para separar un poco las ramas y mejorar la ventilación poniendo 1 o 2 ventiladores extra, quizás darle más potencia al extractor también. A parte de eso van súper bien 😁

Были пожелтело некоторые нижние и старые листья, но компот похоже хороший и все по ходит в норму) Ещё немного делал лст, следущий наверно буду делать когда они ещё подрастут! Mane she’s filling out lovely I almost was too impatient and started to flush. But Only 3 leaves Started to turn but i started her back on nutes once I seen more hairs but. She’s responding nicely and they are filling out. I ultimately. Am too overly excited to make it dis far so I move to fast but None the less lessons learned patience I think the reason this one and my gsc took so long because I damaged a branch or two and it took time to heal. Which why it took so long Being overly careful caused me that because I was constantly watching opening the tents my fan fell on. My gsc so many times noob mistakes But I think she’s doing awesome

10 September Harvest - see pictures. While some growers leave the plant whole when they cut, I do not. It is a personal preference and situational convenience if your a home grower. I chose to cut large, long branches, and remove any whole water leaves, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the bud formation. I don’t trim yet. This is done for a few of reasons: 1) It’s my last good close-up look at her until another 5 days or more, 2) I don’t want wet leaves drying on my buds if I can help it, and 3) I occasionally like being able to shine a small LED flashlight on the flowers while its drying. Mold is our greatest problem as growers, it can destroy a beautiful grow right up until the end process. Then I hang it in a dark closet, provide circulation and ventilation. Light and heat, anything above 80 degrees F, will start a break down in cannabinoids during the dry, it is ideal to stay away from both. I’m fortunate that a humidity level of 50- 55% and temperature of 65-70 degrees F is fairly consistent and easy to maintain. Anything below 60 degree F will prevent the adequate drying out of chlorophyll. Almost all my flower routinely take 5-7 days, some a little longer, to properly dry out. 15 September Trim - see pictures. First you’ll notice the buds have shrunk up to half their original size. This is just a fact that we growers have to deal with. Due to evaporation without uptake of water, it takes about 3 days for the chlorophyll to dry up, then slowly go through a chemical change. Along with the leaves, cannabinoids also begin a chemical change after 3 days called decarboxylation. A slow process where the THC level increases while curing. You want the leaf to be dry so they can be hand trimmed easily, but you do not want that bud so dry that it starts to fall apart in your hand. Try to handle carefully by the main stem to avoid touching the bud all together. A lot of these cut leaves will be covered with trichomes, good for making oils, or other products, it’s an option worth looking into keeping it. After trimming, I do separate a few premium flowers for my first smoq. Then loosely fill wide mouth quart mason jars with about 1 oz/28 gr of product per jar. I seal the lids for a few hours to determine what relative humidity they are at, see hygrometer pic, before making a decision to put in a 62% humidity control pack of my choice or to wait, then place in secure in a cool dark place with stable humidity and temperature. It is very important to then observe/burp or exchange the air as needed, up to several times a day, until 62% rh is achieved. Once your close to to your mark, put in your desired RH level control terpene shield. If you have a problem getting there: 1) it has dried out too much, no real solution, try to put several large cut stems left over from harvest into the jars with the buds to try and increase humidty, 2) it has not dried out enough, in this case no problem, just remove and dry out a little more. This is also a personal choice, some people like it drier in the 50% plus range. Whatever you do, research and preserve. At that time burping is no longer required. Cannabis will reach its peak potency potential at about 40 or so days into the cure. The finished product should be a perfect grind when cured correctly without clogging up your grinder, this could take a month. Now that I’ve said that, I’m sure someone has grown something that they have not been able to grind. It can remain in this state for an easy 6 months with little change, locking in all the terpenes and potencies. All you need to do is occasionally check the product to ensure there are no molds. If your grow/harvest/cure techniques are good this should not be an issue. It would not be uncommon to find many cannabis strains will last, with small degradable change, for up to one year after being stored this way. Using an airtight glass container, controlled relative humidity, maintained low temperature, and kept in darkness will equal maximum shelf life. Always avoid direct sunlight and temperatures above 80 degrees F. The reasons I’ve ultimately chosen Deep Water Culture as a grow medium. Each has their own pros and cons indeed. I found the most efficient, less maintenance and ideal solution for my situation was DWC. Burdens to overcome depend on size up set-up; initial equipment cost, size of containers, ph monitors, air pumps, type of water to use-reverse osmosis, RO cost/set-up/maintenance, ways to transfer/change water and nutrients, what nutrients to use and schedules, takes several grows to learn and understand, a 1 year learning curv, easy to nutrient burn. The Benefits of growing in water; no dirt, no bugs, no diseases, rare nutrient deficiencies/toxicities, steady and rapid growth that enables the plant to reach its genetic potential. After harvest, there is about a 1 hour equipment cleanup, sterilization and turn around process before replanting. Cannabis will perform in so many different ways and mediums, no one way is the best and the best way is the one you are using, right. Chose what works for you in the long run. There will always be an initial cost in set-up. My advice if one were in need to cut corners, I would not recommend cheap lights. This single factor is the most critical, afford for the best. The notion that organic and water has a different taste, flavor and potency effect is absolutely debatable. The more we learn the better we grow and experience is always the best teacher. This is what works for me and my methods of growing in general from beginning to end. A BIG “Thank You” to everyone who stopped by to take a look. My next diary will start at the beginning of October 2023 with a Forbidden Runtz Auto. There will be minor differences during the grow. I enjoy Auto strains simply by what can be achieved in a short time. No matter the strain they will unveil one thing in common, the demand for attention. Many times over it is the anecdotal gardener that surmount plant scientist. Last should I mention, do not forget to stop and enjoy the fruits of your labour...

Day 73 - 1/3 - Day 26 into flowering. Soil pH too high over ~6.8. Watered with 5.0 pH water. Day 74 - 1/4 - Day 27 into flowering. Fert Water 1 + 2ml. Day 75 - 1/5 - Day 28 - 4 Weeks into flowering. 5-6pH plain water. Day 76 - 1/6 - Day 29 into flowering. 5pH Plain Water to adjust soil pH too high over 6.8; almost 7. 0.5+1 Ferts added. Finally pH restored to 6.5. Day 77 - 1/7 - Day 30 into flowering. Feed 5pH Plain Water. END WEEK 11.

I was really wishing for the pheno on the seedsman website but I guess I would have to just hunt through many more blueberry seeds to find that one. Overall I enjoyed the grow.

I turned her pot and plucked a couple of yellow shade leaves...the basic daily maintenance. 9/22- I didn't water her yesterday as she looked great and was 'praying' hard. Today she was given 1.5g of de-chlorinated water which was ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉ which I gave her through her drip pan (bottom chuggin) and I also gave her pot a turn. I'm keeping an eye on what appears to be a few seeds developing. I'm hoping they're just fat calyx's that haven't matured yet however there's a strong possibility that, due to a temperature fluctuation that was excessive (20℉) may have caused her to stress and turn hermaphroditic... Fingers crossed! 🤔🤞 9/24- We're getting close to wrapping up Week Six of flower in a couple of days and she'll be around four more weeks from finishing, with the most exciting weeks yet to come! I didn't water yesterday and today I went ahead and Top Dressed her with 2 tbsp/g Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4, 1 tbsp/g Dr. Earth Gold Premium 4-4-4, 1/2 cup Down To Earth Bio-Fish, 1/3 cup Down To Earth High Phosphorus Bat Guano and 2 cups of Worm Castings. I watered in the Top Dress with 1.5g of de-chlorinated water which was ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉ and let her enjoy her meal! 😜 9/26- After her heavy watering on the 24th I didn't water yesterday and when I checked her today at 'lights on' and she still had some weight to her pot and her leaves were praying hard so I held off on watering today and will hit her tomorrow with her usual 1.5g watering. ~Thanks for stopping in! D71/F23 - 11.29 - Maybe didn't love the defoliation, but looking ok. No discoloration or anything, just a little slower to start chunking up than its neighbors. <3 D73/F26 - 12.1 - The 3x3 9lb seems to have done better with the defoliation, but after I fed with a bit of molasses, found some fungus gnats flying around. Have traps and diatomaceous earth down, so we should nip this pretty quickly. D74/F27 - 12.2 - A little concerned about this one cola whose top pistils seem curled compared to the other on the plant. Take a look and let me know if this is normal or not. All my mature fungus gnats have been trapped, not seeing anymore buzzing around. I suppose the larva could still do a little damage for now? D76/F29 - 12.4 - Doing fine in the 4x5 tent :)
