Flowers starting to form towards the end of the week, but first they were lollipopped at the beginning of the week. This was just the first of 2 leaf strips from under the canopy, to allow better air flow and to remove the lower, unwanted flowering sites. These would only grow into fluffy nothingness if left throughout the whole cycle, and would probably even shoot some nuts due to stress from lack of light/airflow, especially as im not using the most powerful lights 😅 Nutes increased with the adition of sugars and a slight pk boost to promote healthy growth now they're getting hungrier. All looking healthy and filling out nicely 🦊

This week, my cannabis plant is showing some signs of thirst. Unfortunately, I had to cut back on watering due to a small infestation of fungus gnats. To combat the problem, I decided to apply nematodes. Hopefully, they will take care of the larvae in the soil. Despite the reduced watering, the plant still looks strong and healthy overall. The buds are continuing to develop nicely.🌱🌱 I'm really curious to see how things progress in the coming weeks, especially now that the pest issue is being addressed.💚 Be excited for the coming weeks 💚🌱🌱

~ Day 71 Update ~ Hello everyone! Hola! I’m Meus and this is my 10th weekly update for “First Mainline Attempt!”. I’d like to welcome new & veteran growers, Thanks for taking the time to stop by :) ~ Progress ~ You know, I’m astounded by the level of growth in this past week, my mind is blown! 5" of growth compared to the avg of 1" for the past few weeks (9,8,7, etc), just wow 😱. The smell is pungent, dank, and slightly sweet. I can only dream of what these girls will skunk out, soon, very soon... I’d like to flower now but I have a few small issues. First: I wanted to stop at 8 toppings but I need clones of the others so everyone gets topped to keep an even canopy. Of course I’m not taking 8 clones each 😏, just 2-3 of each strain (5 strains, 6 plants; 2 phenotypes) to put in my 2nd tent till these girls (mainlined beasts) are harvested. This is ambitious though I’m optimistic that this will work out 🙏 Second: Related to the first issue I’m going to need a trellis net to support these girls with their 16 tops. Thing is, all my plant have varying flowering schedules (55 to 70+ days). I’ll need to make a net set up that I can cut out each plant individually as they’re ready to harvest. Third: MOLD! Though it’s not a lot I do have a bit of mold developing at the bottom of the fabric pots (which are known to mold). I’m going to switch to Superoots Air-Pot so I can avoid the mold. They’re $10+ a pop so I might have to wait till my next grow to afford the amount I need to make a full switch. Depending on how things go I’ll start flowering at week 13. Now concerning the mold I found a few ways to deal with my problem without harming or altering taste of these young ladies. This will be a tough 11 - 14 weeks, I’ll keep ya updated fam! ~ Individual progress notes ~ (will post full information soon, update delayed for personal reasons) [Purple Urkle #1] Height: 14" Tops: 8 Notes: 14 inches... That's quite a climb :) Though she's stretchy like her sister I'm excited, can't wait to see the development in the next few weeks of veg 😊 [Purple Urkle #2] Height: 13.2" Tops: 8 Notes: I'm surprised at the uniformity of these two sisters, I'm going to veg a bit longer and get me some clones just in case ;) [CBD Blueberry] Height: 9.8" Tops: 8 Notes: I thought this girl was a goner, definitely didn't respond to the mainline well like the others, wonder why? 😶 Still I'm impressed that my smallest plant is filling in, though she looks weird I still love her and her minions <3 [White Widow] Height: 11.2 Tops: 8 Notes: Well... This was one of my smallest girls, she's by far the bushiest and most filled in. For an example look at her root mass, one word, insane! Roots are spreading everywhere, so aggressive and the trunk is huge, perfect for transporting all those nutes. Tanya here recovered from a split too, awesome :) [Mazar] Height: 13.8 Tops: 8 Notes: Taller but just as dense as the white widow, the Mazar has potential! A beautiful, healthy canopy, one of my best girls. It's a good feeling knowing that my hard work is paying off 😭 I'm afraid of topping this one because she is so dense that 16 tops will be off the hook, better make a plan soon 🙏 [Super Silver Haze] Height: 11.2 Tops: 8 Notes: I’m starting to get impatient, I love this strain! Well, most strains developed by Arjan are great <3 I will need to feed soon with diluted nutes, she looks hungry a bit. Other than that she’s a healthy young lady that’s ready to flower :) ~ Final Thoughts ~ Where to start... I’m excited! Getting my clones are my top priority right now, then I'll focus on canopy support. I’ve come a long way from my first grow, even though I failed I learned a lot. Those lessons are keeping me on my toes and I’m learning more everyday. Thank you to those who have been influential to my success, much love! I can honestly say Grow Diaries is the best! Good solid strain easy time of it, not a heavy feeder nor drinker about average on both Not a lot of problems at all in fact none. Will tend tall-ish so take that into consideration about 200% stretch 140 grams dry meh sativas

the plants are happy and drinking 1/2 gal of water everyday Pheno 1 is purpling up and is the shortest out of the run pheno 2 is super frosty with a fundip nose pheno 3 is less frosty but has a grape soda smell to her

1.20.2024: Time to gives this a go. 2.3x2.3 tent, XS1500 light, 2 gal fabric pots. Pots filled with FFOF(90%) & Perlite(10%.) Don't ask me why I chose 90/10. Nutrents are the FF Trio. Also growing a freebee seed from Humboldt Seed Co(Emerald Fire OG Auto.) Decided to germinate directly into the medium. Light is at 50% power at 2.5ft from the top of the pot(s). I'll have the light running 24hrs until it sprouts(fingers crossed it does.) I sprayed the top soil with pH 6.5 water when i stuck the seeds in then placed clear plastic cups over the seed location. My 4inch fan is on the way and it comes with a monitor for temp and humidity....no idea what current stats are. Just hope the damn thing spouts. Fingers crossed. More to come. 1.23.2024: 3 days and still no sprout. Going to give it another day or two before i go fishing for them. Off to a fantastic start! 1.24.2024: They've finally popped....aaaaannnddd we're off! 1.25.2024: Took the lil domes off, opened 2/3 vents for some circulation. Been misting the top soil just to keep it moist with 6.5ph water. I also "bottom fed" 12oz of water just to keep things lubricated. On the fence about when to give the plants a proper watering. Might keep things going "as is" for the next two days. Inline fan and associated hygrometer comes tomorrow(1.26) so i'll finally have an idea on what the current stats are in the tent. Will make adjustments at that point in time. Light is 2.5 ft from soil at 50%. 1.26.2024: Inline fan came yesterday. Only set up the probe just to understand temp and humidity. With the light at 50%, 2 ft from the soil, all vents closed except one(1) port at the top, my current temp hovers around 79 and the RH is 50%. After setting up a humidifier, i'm now running 75 degrees, 64% RH and VPD .58. All within tolerance. I can already tell it will be a delicate dance managing heat, exhaust fan speed and humidity. Still haven't given the plant more than 2 cups of water and i'm only watering when the soil is dry. Tomorrow(1.27) marks 1 week since the seed was dropped. Plan is to lightly water the entire pot when dry for the next week or until growth really kicks in.

Day 23 The third week of flowering is complete. Most of the height growth is finished. Time for a radical defoliation. The girls look great. Unfortunately, Kush has formed hermaphrodites on the flowers in the shade. I hope that I have removed them all. The lamp will be raised to 100% output in two stages.
