BelSun_420 looks good so far! At this stage I don't have many worries, but the time will come when I will have to transplant it into a bigger pot, and it will be the first time I do that. I've never planted a photoperiod before

BelSun_420 Just been transplanted, let's see how it reacts. unfortunately I started it in a pot with soil reused from another plantation, and I notice problems with the calmag that I used to keep the soil moist when it wasn't in use. I hope it gets better now with fresh soil 💚🌱

BelSun_420 This plant seems to be doing well overall. After giving the soil a small flush to remove excess Cal-Mag and following up with a new watering to balance the nutrients, it appears to have stabilized and recovered slightly. The top buds are developing nicely, and I’ve been defoliating gradually and regularly to ensure the lower buds get better light exposure. 💚

BelSun_420 The plant looks good for its final stage. The top buds are well-developed, though the lower buds are a bit below expectations—probably because my lights aren’t quite enough for this photoperiod strain. After all, I’m only running 180W. But overall, for a first attempt, I’m actually quite satisfied! Plus, I’m loving the colors of the buds—they have a beautiful soft purple 💜💚

BelSun_420 According to the website, it takes 8 to 9 weeks to flower, and we’re now entering the eighth week, so I’m already counting down the days until I can chop this girl! From now on, I’m only watering with plain water until the finish. 💚

BelSun_420 My girl is just a few days away from harvest time! 💚💜 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Unfortunately, some buds developed mold… I’m not sure if it had already started before or if it developed during the two days of darkness. Three top buds were affected, but the rest seems fine. I did a wet trim, placed them on the drying rack, and increased air circulation in the drying cabinet to prevent further issues. The soil was still moist when I put the plant into darkness, which may have increased humidity inside the cabinet and contributed to the problem. Either way, this is a technique I won’t be using again. To be honest, I’ve never really noticed a significant difference between doing the two days of darkness before harvest or not..I think it’s more of a placebo effect. We learn from our mistakes! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Happy Harvest Day!

Finally, trimming is done! This one was a pain in the ass to trim since it had a lot of inner leaves in the buds. In terms of yield, it only produced 70g dry, but I lost 3 branches to mold after putting it in darkness for two days, so it could have yielded more—shit happens . The smell isn’t very intense, but the buds are really resinous, which made trimming even harder. Overall, I expected a bigger yield, even without the lost branches. The top buds fattened up nicely, but as I mentioned throughout the grow, the lower buds stayed small. Now it's curing time, and I’ll post a smoke review later! For now, that's it! I'll add more updates later. Meanwhile, I’ve started a new journey, this time with Runtz Auto from Zamnesia for the contest in partnership with Plagron. You can follow my progress in my Diary Runtz Automatic@Eternity Grow Cup 2025 Thanks for the support!

@BelSun_420, thank you! I started up a diary today. I’m only two weeks above soil, so not much excitement in my tent yet. The fun has yet to begin…..but they all sprouted.

BelSun_420 commented2y ago
Yes, it looks delicious, especially the top buds, they're nice and fat, with beautiful colors and covered in trichomes. The lower buds didn’t develop as much, but I really can’t complain overall. After all, I’m only using 180W for this photoperiod strain. That’s why I believe that if you’re planning to grow it outdoors, you’re going to end up with a real beast! 👊🏻

@NAS_Garden, a classic, isn't it? 🌱 Honestly, I haven't planned much, it's my first time planting a photoperiod, I think the site said 5 weeks of vegetation, but I'm thinking of making the switch between the eighth and tenth week! I have an auto in the cabinet in the final flowering stage, so I'm kind of playing with the time it takes for the other one to finish flowering to reduce the light schedule and switch this one to flowering! For now, it's recovering from the transplant 😉 thanks for the support! We're in this together 💪🏻🌱💚

Hi, beautiful plants, amazing colors : ) did they only grow to 20cm in height? and I assume they are photos you ran for 12/12 throughout life-cycle?
BelSun_420
BelSun_420 commented2y ago
@DateCake, Thank you! The plant was on an 18-hour light cycle during the first 7 weeks of vegetation, then reduced to 12 hours for flowering. As for its height, I stopped measuring after the first few weeks because I started training and bending the main stem. However, the average height of the branches is around 55-60 cm. Without training, it probably would have reached around 100-110 cm.
BelSun_420
BelSun_420 commented2y ago
@DateCake, Only one of the plants is a photoperiod , the Durban Poison; the other two are autoflowers—Blueberry and Purple Lemonade. You can check them out in my other grow diaries!

Nice work, my friend! I hope it smokes as good as it looks! Try not to leave the dark hours at the end; they've done several tests and found that it's not beneficial for them. If you want, you can do the opposite and give 24 or 48 hours of light with low temperatures, but I would recommend trying not to change the light cycles at the end :)
BelSun_420
BelSun_420 commented1y ago
Thanks, Nas! I believe that a stressful effect somehow activates the plant's defense systems, influencing the final product. That's why I think that in the next grows, I'll try to do the light cycle with lower temperatures. Interestingly, I was already thinking about that; a week ago, I watched a podcast where they talked about 24 to 32 hours of light instead of the 48 hours of darkness. At least, there won't be any issues with humidity spikes in that case. 😉 Big hug!
NAS_Garden
NAS_Garden commented1y ago
Yes, after I heard Dr. Bruce Bugbee talking about this, it's always low temperatures in the last 10 days and the last 24 hours of light. Personally, I've never seen better results with more than 24 hours, but that's my experience. Now, the last week of low temperatures really does give good results!

BelSun_420 commented2y ago
@NAS_Garden, yes, the nights are getting colder!! I have one of those heating cables, it's not a big deal, but it always helps keep the temperature from dropping too much. This week I gave the soil a little flush to see if I could eliminate the excess calmag I had... it seems to have helped.

BelSun_420 commented2y ago
@NAS_Garden, thanks Nas! They are responding well, but I started in a pot with soil from another grow where I was adding calmag and leftovers from other products to keep the soil active, and it affected this plant a bit; it's not as green as it should be, but I think it will recover 👍🏻
