Week 10...The plants are looking good! Took out the microscope to look at the trichomes...Starting to get milky but still another week or two before the harvest! Started flushing the plant this week!

Everything ok, just waiting 1 more week before I top them. The banana krumble is clearly much more compact so I'm starting to think I shouldn't have put 2 different strains but it's too late now.

Week 8 of flower is in the books and this show is quickly coming to an end. I said last week we had about 7-10 days and I was spot on at the 10 day mark. I was only wrong about the order. The cheese is ready to chop before the rest and the gorilla cookies, cherry Bomb and lemon haze will follow in due course. The cheese is a beast and it’ll take a little time to get it all run through the bowl trimmer. At least the big one goes first. Her tallest colas have foxtailed like mar, despite the late supercrop. You can tell where the sweet spot for the light is at about 10” distance from the canopy. Any closer than that and the tails begin to show prominently. It’s a good example of just how close you can get to these fixtures with a little bit of prior experience. It’s been noted for the next run😎👍😎. The res. is on an h2o2 only flush for the remainder until the rest are ready to come down. Not a moment too soon either - the pollen chucking project has stalled out waiting for these girls to finish and now that we’ll have a little extra room, we can start running our cuts in the aerocloner🤟. Not long at all now folks. Thanks for tagging along through all this. Learned a bunch about this system and we’re back to hardware mode to make some serious improvements for the next run🤙😎. I love hardware mode😉. Background/Repetitive Nonsense The strain line up on this grow is look’n quite saucy 😈. We’ve got 2 FB strains this time around - Gorilla Cookies (seems we always have some GSC cross in the works). Mainly because the colours look stellar and remind me of a sugar breathe we did last year that was 🔥. The other FB is their original Cheese strain... because we already smoked all our cheese... and we really like our cheese...😉. Emerald triangle was kind enough to include a freebie of Lemon Haze. Wasn’t really big on the list but we haven’t done a haze strain to write home about yet so worth a go👍. The last is a Cherry auto from Bomb seeds that we’ve been trying to get to for months. Let’s just hope that she’s not a dud like the last bean. The new digs for this run are courtesy MarsHydro👊. Their 2x4 single grow tent, paired with a shiny new 240w QB courtesy ViparSpectra. These folks were kind enough to discuss a collaboration and as a result, here we are to test out the gear with an inaugural run of autos. Each week, we’ll try to expand on some of the benefits of each, as well as any limiting factors or considerations that need attention when pondering purchase. Already I can say that both are high quality products in terms of overall craftsmanship. MarsHydro 2x4 Grow Tent: Excellent construction in terms of durability. Reinforced stitching on the zippers and corners ensures zero tearing. Conveniently placed screen vents and intake/exhaust ports. The ceiling exhaust port only exists on the right side. Perfect for me but not great if you’re running exhaust from the top on the left side (left side wall port makes up for this however). The aluminum frame is rigid enough to support the weight of the lights and accessories. Once you have some weight in the tent, she’s go’n nowhere and you can assemble and break it down in record time if moving or stashing the grow op. Only limiting factors I’ve noticed is that temp. Control will be an issue for a tent. It just doesn’t have the same insulating ability as a wood cabinet or other permanent enclosed space. No worries, this is offset by a small desktop heater and keeps the environment exactly where desired. The other issue was a production problem - the ceiling vent was accidentally stitched into the corner seams on the assembly line. Again, no real issue - just pulled it out with no damage or fraying to the tent or port👍. Closest comparable to it that I’ve seen would be spiderfarmers line of qbs. They feature the same top-o-the-line components and roughly similar spectrums. Where VS takes the advantage is in the convenience of the dimmer nob which is easily accessible and works great at 50% with no strobing👍. The heat sink is also larger which contributes to lower temps. That’s not a good thing in my case but beneficial for most folks. I can already say that this will be a great fixture through all stages of growth. Where I know this light will excel will be in the veg. Stage for sure. Dimming function gives seedlings a much better chance of success with the ability to use lower lighting levels early on and the coverage area on a 240w is great. The average grower will find this panel suitable and fitting to their needs in a 2x4 grow space although I’d suggest 2 units if going any larger than that. The total output in this space equates to about 30w/sq.ft. Which is a decent amount of coverage based on power vs. Growprint. Ideal for veg. Certainly but, in flower - I tend to run closer to 50-60w/sq.ft to achieve higher yields. Again, similar fixtures have performed admirably in the past and while this wouldn’t be considered an “entry-level” fixture, I’d recommend that any grower new to the game not skimp on lighting and start with one of these. The price points are a great value for quality LED tech. These days, so there’s little reason to even consider a lesser fixture👍. I have no detail on limiting factors for this light as yet but have heard that stock branded fixtures don’t necessarily incorporate enough red diodes. I’ve seen no issue myself but confess - I’m no lighting guru. 11/30: I harvested the first 6 today, flushed 5 more for the second time, and fed everybody else for the last time. I washed all the branches using the 4-step method ascribed by Doc Bud at High Times/420magazine and many other notable cannabis connoisseurs, with slight modifications: 4 x big plastic totes/bins 8 x ounces of 12% hydrogen peroxide (or 32 ounces of 3%) 2 x cups of concentrated lemon juice 2 x cups of baking soda 10 x gallons of water in each bin Unless your tap water stinks, you're safe to use tap water for the procedure, but I used an inline carbon hose filter to fill my buckets. Bin #1 - 10 gallons of water mixed with the hydrogen peroxide Bin #2 - 10 gallons of water mixed with the lemon juice and baking soda Bin #3 - 10 gallons of water as hot tap water Bin #4 - 10 gallons of cold tap water I was mainly concerned about removing as much lint and cat/dog hair as possible, but also rinsing off any residue left from all the various foliar applications of humic/fulvic acid, kelp, axiom, big bloom, and tiger bloom I did. First, I put my leaf blower on low speed and blasted my plants thoroughly, one at a time, replicating 50-60mph winds for about 10 seconds and watched as a whirlwind of debris and hair flew out the back door. Bud-washing: Pluck any necrotic plant material and any old fan leaves off while they're still on the plant. Then, take a handful of branches and submerge them in Bin #1 for about 30 seconds, agitating it, removing from water, submerging again, agitating, etc...then remove it and let it drip out for a few seconds...then repeat the process with Bins #2-4. Let it drip dry overnight with a little bit of airflow, then dry as you normally would...baskets, boxes, etc.. I hadn't watered these plants in a few days, so they were almost in draught, but after doing this procedure, they were fully hydrated(turgid) and seemed to have brighter colors than before. Nice!😍 12/1: The bottom part of the closet seems empty with only 9 plants in there.. 😟 I cut the harvested plants up and put them into drying baskets in the top of my closet with a small oscillating fan on. I've got the temperature fluctuating between 68f and 75f and the RH is staying between 48% and 52%. To do that, I had to take down the small light in the top of the closet to fit the drying baskets up there. So, I moved the 3 shorter plants still up there down to the bottom and put them on top of buckets. Now the bottom of the closet looks full again!😃 I'm anxious to finish up this grow so I can get busy growing the Fastbuds Fast Flowering Photo Testers!!! When I harvest the next 5, I'll flush the remaining plants really well and that will be all the flushing they'll get..I'll let them dry back out for a few days and harvest them. I've got to make some minor improvements to the garden (adding UV, blue and red/far red booster panels and intake fans) That should put me on track to start germinating them by mid-December if all goes well. 12/3: ...early a.m... The harvested plants are already dry!?!?? And have excellent texture??? Wow..bud washing is for real..roughly 48 hours after I hung them to drip dry, and 40 hours after I put them in baskets in 50% RH/70f conditions with moderate airflow...usually takes 4 or 5 days to get a good slow-dry in the same conditions, so I'm convinced that this must be attributed to the bud-washing procedure. I'm sold! Here's the talley so far: plant #1 - 115g (plus 13g larf) - Candy Cane [F2] plant #2 - 108g (plus 18g larf) - Candy Cane [F2] plant #3 - 119g (plus 15g larf) - C4ndycaine [Candy Cane x C4] plant #4 -  92g (plus 6g larf) - Candy Cane [F2] - the smallest plant in the main area plant #5 - 112g (plus 22g larf) - Candesia [Candy Cane x Amnesia] plant #6 -  75g (no larf) - Candesia [Candy Cane x Amnesia] - grown in upper area under 200w ...afternoon: I flushed 6 of the last 7 plants for the first time today and harvested 4 more of them. I washed them and hung them to dry.....my dripping wet bathing beauties!😍

2024-07-23 A few months ago, I germinated three opium poppy seeds. Each seedling was given a different setup: 1. Outdorgrow in a 30L container 2. Outdoorgrow in a 75L container 3. Indoorgrow in a 30L Airpot This post focuses on the indoor plant, which was trained using various techniques such as mainlining, topping, LST (Low Stress Training), and some supercropping. The indoor plant thrived from the beginning, showing vigorous and healthy growth. It responded well to training, consistently displaying a robust appearance. Its growth seemed effortless, requiring only adequate water and minimal nutrients. Training began with topping and continued for 9 weeks during the vegetation phase. The main technique used was mainlining, shaping the plant into a circle using pipe cleaners. The plant's soft stems and branches made it easy to train without causing stress. After 9 weeks of vegetative growth and training, I was satisfied with the result and initiated the flowering phase. The plant continued to flourish, primarily needing water and care. Only a few NPK feedings were necessary, but it received many beneficial supplements with watering. The growing medium used was Terra Preta MJ-Mix, and I applied a mycorrhizal inoculant called DYNOMYCO. This significantly enhanced root development and nutrient breakdown. Essentially, And i applied aTodpressing with Insectfrass, so they stayed lovely green. I was feeding the microorganisms in the Terra Preta mix, which in turn kept the plant healthy. The plant developed beautiful colas while maintaining its circular shape. Harvesting was straightforward. The aroma was fruity (reminiscent of apricot) with a strong, gassy undertone. The buds are currently curing. I've taken photographs of the plant's "skeleton" and some pre-cured buds, showcasing the impressive trichome development. The OutdoorPlants are still growing, and the Diary will continue

I might switch the lights in the next days. Depending on her growth. Day44: Added some water and moved the camera a little further away. Day45: She felt lonely, so I got her a friend... Theobroma Cacao. New seedling that needs the warmth + humidity. Hopefully surviving winter. Day46: I decided to take some zoomed in stills of her. To show off her beauty. The purpling of the branches really make this lady something special. In some of the shots it might look like her leaves are yellowing, but it's just the angle of the light. You can see on the photo that I took from the top, that all leaves are a healthy dark green. At least I now have proof that she's a lady. She's short and stubby, but I'm not really growing for amount. I just neeed 50g, after all (hehe) Day47: She grew like a demon overnight. I'll check the height tomorrow.

I noticed some white blotches on a few leaves. Gorilla cookies is a beast of a plant it can easily fill up a 4x4 with one plant if done right. Really thick white tricombs strong smells big colas. What else can you ask for a good plant all around

Day 70: Want to know how the trichomes are looking on my OG Kush, they look pretty clear to me but not 100%🤷‍♂️🏼 any feedback would be great, this OG is about 10 weeks old from seed, there was some temp issues, and nutrients locks but still going strong I believe.
