Eternity Grow Cup - Week 11 VEG Report This is a pivotal week in our Eternity Grow Cup journey as we wrap up VEG and prepare to transition into FLOWER. Our goal has been to ensure that the plants are thriving and optimized for the next phase. This report will detail everything that took place during this crucial week. Mass Defoliation & Structural Training We began the week with an extensive defoliation session. Every leaf with a stem was removed to clear space for optimal light penetration and airflow. This process was done mostly by hand, clicking them off in the opposite direction of growth, while some stubborn ones were snipped with scissors. By the end, it felt like we had taken out nearly half a kilo of leaves! The room now looks clean, structured, and ready to fill out the ScroggNet. To further enhance the plant structure, branches were attached to the pots, allowing for better horizontal growth. This technique helps maximize canopy exposure and prepares the plants for even light distribution once flowering begins. Defoliation before flowering is a key step as it reduces overcrowding, improves airflow, and sets the plants up for efficient energy use in the next phase. Light Schedule & Adjustments This week, we introduced a subtle but effective light adjustment. While still maintaining an 18-hour light cycle, we initiated a 15-minute delay with the whites, allowing the reds to start first. This gradual shift signals the plants that a change is coming. Similarly, at the end of the light cycle, the whites turn off 15 minutes earlier, leaving the reds on for an extended period. This strategy mimics natural sunrise and sunset, helping the plants transition more smoothly into flowering. Additionally, at the end of the week, we will be implementing 48 hours of darkness before the official flip to flower. This method has worked exceptionally well in past grows, helping plants recognize the transition and encouraging a strong start to flowering. However, it's important to emphasize that this is a personal technique and not a universal rule. Every grower should experiment with different methods to find what works best for their specific environment. Environmental Conditions & Challenges Currently, our temperature is at 27°C with 60% humidity, resulting in a VPD of 1.50. While slightly higher than the ideal for VEG, our CO2 levels are over 1000 ppm, and the light intensity is at 570 PPFD, making it a manageable balance. The solution pH is 5.79 (essentially 5.8), EC is 1.38, and water temperature is 17.7°C. One challenge we are facing is maintaining optimal reservoir temperatures. Currently, it's a bit low at 17.7°C, and we are exploring solutions to raise it slightly. However, the medium temperature sits at 22.2°C, which is a good range. The humidifier is still in use, though it struggles to increase humidity further, so we are working with what we have to keep the VPD in check. ICL-300s Integration The ICL-300 lights are now fully active. Unlike the last grow, where we introduced them later, this time they are on from the start of flowering prep. This adjustment is an experiment to see if the plants respond better to an early introduction. Learning is at the core of this journey, and each grow offers new insights. Whether this proves to be the optimal strategy or not, it will be a valuable lesson for future grows. I guess the correct headline here is bud rot. Took a while to figure out why I ran into these issues, after a bit more snooping around and investigating I came to a mostly certain conclusion. My passive intake was clogged with dust, barely any air was coming into the grow room. This, coupled with the fact my temperature and RH sensor/recorder was giving me back dated information and applying it to the present day. I didn’t realise I was getting 80%+ RH spikes during lights out for the last 3 weeks. I’ll call it a lesson, and start to check things more regularly around the grow room, not just the plants themselves. After a heavy crop scout with sterilised gloves and alcohol rub to hand, I carefully pulled back and inspected every cola, washing my hands between each cola. Unfortunately most of the largest colas fell victim to botrytis, in the end I cut off 7 colas completely and carefully sorted through into 3 separate piles on D100. One pile was the bin put into double tied sandwich bags with a good spray with 70% alcohol , this contained directly infected areas with a 5cm radius. (235g including fan leaves and stems (wet)) The second pile was for buds that were within 10cm of the rot sites that appeared to be healthy, this went into a brown paper bag, ready for hash making when I complete the harvest in the next couple weeks. (305g including buds and sugar leaves (wet)) The third, and most limited pile was bud sites that were more than 10cm away from the rot sites. These are now successfully dried and are now in their curing jars. Based on the smell, they already smell better than my last harvest so I’m hoping it’s a sign of things to come. (58g buds (dry)) I had to buy a 4x4 tent to temporarily dry the good buds, and will use again when I do the main harvest. The top colas that are left look a little stressed this week, not sure if it’s to do with shock from early harvest, but I am going in and checking every other day with clean clothes to make sure the problems are not progressing further. Based on the trichomes (video) the samples look like they’re a week or two away from harvest now, so hopefully I won’t have the throw anymore away before then. Anyway, waffling over, mainly wanted the detail for my own reference if I ever have to come back to this (I hope not). Good luck all!

Ar first when she sprouted grows slowly and in early veg i made many stress and techniques in little pot before transplanted in big pot she grow really faster and get many inside stems whick i cut them all and stay only big n top ones it was very hard to make lst and somethimes i needed to make hst her stems are wildly hard as steel and not easy to give her nice bodybuilding she had many wound and cuts on stem. Flowering phase was amazing beautiful at first it was full white stretching so long middle stems nonstop growing whole 6week and only at last weeks she get many trichomes flavors and starting yellow pistils visually looked pineapple

So from this point I had lost hope. the plants weren't looking to good. But with some help we went to town on the plants and did some LST'ing and hoped this would help the plants.

Well that was a special day, it always make me sad in a way, but this time, I enjoyed the moment a lot. As I wrote in a reply to a comment, things can always be better, and they are with good decisions at the right time. These are the smallest and the biggesr plant, one seed didn't germenated and that's why I had to put a Red Gorilla. Not sure I will try a main mlinning on auto flowering strains any more.... but I think I did it wrong, first I took the one that seemed less strong for the experiment, and having 2 other plants to compete for lights. FIM is definetly a technique I will reuse if needed. It's so nice to have these genetic contrasts, colors, aromas, shapes. Many thanks for all the help you gave, precious. 19/04/2024 lower popcorn buds seems dried already! But still branches don't crack on bends. Will check again on Monday. I finally have received, lately a portable microscope, will be more ususeful next year! But this confirms that lower buds might have need more maturity but did the choice to not over complicate by harvesting in 2 times, my indoor tent is also my drying tent, and I wouldn't have any other place to dry the upper buds separetly while allowing the remaining to harvvest with more maturity. In general I think I might have began the Final part too early. BTW, we smoked the popcorn bud, and it's very promissing, we liked it.

2020-08-11 Another week gone by... Plant 01 is still fattening up, drinking normally. Plant 02 has been completely choked out of the lights so it's not doing very well. Keeping the nutrients the same as they are both pretty steadily drinking. Some death amongst the lower leaves on plant 02 and the buds are getting trichomes but not getting very fat. Plant 01 is very dense and sticky af. Excited to harvest in a couple weeks! The tent is definitely ugly as hell and the vegetative state clearly went on for about 2 weeks too long (first time grower) while I messed up the nutrients and other things that caused them to grow slowly. The 2nd plant never really recovered. I have continued defoliating and super-cropping plant 01 away from the light and keeping the distances even... It's an ugly canopy, can't wait for the next one so I can get it right!!

Growth Stage: Early Flower / Stretch Environment: Temperature: ~26 °C Humidity: ~60 % RH Light intensity: increased to ~850 PPFD. ☀️ Watering / Feeding: Watered every 2–3 days, based on pot weight, using RO water + CalMag. 💧 During this week, the plants received 1x BioTabs Bio PK. Observations: Stretch continued clearly during Week 5. Apricot #2 stretched even more and is now definitively the tallest plant in the tent. Apricot #1 stretched more moderately. To balance the canopy, #1 was placed on a crate so both plants now sit at roughly the same height. 🙂 The first pistils became clearly visible at the forming bud sites, marking the transition into proper flowering. 🌸 Both plants look vital and healthy overall. Leaf posture is mostly neutral, although #2 still shows slightly drooping tips, which remained stable. Notes: Week 5 represents the overlap between stretch and early bud initiation. With increased PPFD and the first Bio PK application, the plants are now fully entering the flowering phase. 🌱💪

Que pasa familia, aquí andamos que vamos actualizar una semana más Fumándonos un troncho de haribo con Rosin de Le Xupet Negre . Mientras tanto os comento ya en la recta final de estas Red Cookies Gelato, siendo sinceros están muy pepinas y bien resinadas, los cogollos van muy tricomados y están súper hinchados, pero comento también que la variedad no es del todo estable, es algo complicada tienes que estar pendiente de ellas cada día observar que no salga un macho porque de 100 plantas habrán salido 3 machos y alguna hermafrodita , son frágiles. Fue mi primer proyecto de cruce que aún así dentro de ser el primero a salido demasiado bien porque no esperaba ni resultados positivos pero ahí están y toda la gente que la probó, todos los que se molestaron en conocerla o interesarse por ella se agradece ,porque todos habláis muy bien de ella aún siendo así de frágil, se agradece y valora mucho vuestra opinión, Fieras. Voy hacer estrés hídrico, cada vez regaré menos cantidad para que no se mueran las plantas pero si dejen de comer de las raíces de la parte de abajo, aparte van amarilleando las hojas más rápido y mientras terminan de madurar. Hasta aquí es toda la semana y casi todo el cultivo como quien dice, así que buenos humos y hasta la semana que viene 💨💨💨

Wedding Cake Auto is a vigorous growing strain with strong genetics. Do not forget your Cal-Mag. Caution on overfeeding I got lazy and didn't check the runoff the last month and the Ec reading was 2.8. Yikes, not good but lesson learned and quickly rectified with ample flush. Took to topping very well but I'd recommend some training as well to ensure an even canopy as I just let her grow resulting in me harvesting in sections to allow the lower nugs to firm up.
