3/11 Week 11 a day early due to schedule - Day 26 of Flower Buds building very well no signs of any deficiencies and the tips are ok so leaving all nuets as is. Halfway to projected harvest date according to Fast Buds, I believe them from what I am seeing. Having some humidity issues due to our funky weather. Humidity running higher than is safe on lights out , 60-70%, so installed one small dehumidifier but getting a larger one today to add to it. That is the extent of our problems so aint beechin guys One final comment here, these Fast Flowering photo strains seem tailor made for growing indoors. The flowering times, the way they grow and the lack of strong odors even with larger buds just impresses the crap out of me. 👍 Fast Buds 3/12 - 27/Flower Continue to stack up the buds I had to raise the lights one click to keep em at 16" on both lights. The increased feed PPM is showing in rapidly growing buds. No changes in feeding at this time. My wife has sweetly pointed out I messed up reading the calendar. This is day 27 of flower 😜 Yeah it was real good for 23 days too LOL So FB pegged 45 days of flower on the FF7 , with 18 days remaining. Flush could begin in 11 days at the soonest. Which consequently is when I drop the seeds for the last grow before my vacation. 😉 3/13 Day 28 Flower Raised the lights up a bit, want better dispersal from the two light sources and since there is now almost too much light this seems wise as the buds continue to stack up. The two light together are 1100 and 700 umols at a minimum so with 1800 Umols (the same as a 1000 watt HID) I can afford a dispersed pattern of light sans hot spots and dark corners. Multiple light sources is the way to go no doubt now. maybe pics later if I've time. Pics 3/14 Day 29 Flower Ye though there be no toilet paper in the land we do have buds... This virus thing is just insane aint it. Why toilet paper I wonder... Anyway increased PK to max 5ml/gal as I see no toxicity and they are building like crazy so feed em. This is the last week for the PK booster cutting it out in a few days, plenty in the pot to carry her through the flush. No other issues to comment on pretty easy grow so far. Pics

Not getting enough light coverage due to the light the tent came with and the inline fan not doin anything at all honestly but still doin pretty good so far hopefully I don't get bud rot before I can make it to my first harvest... I know it would be way better with a Grow Abby soil edition 😜

THURSDAY 7/18: She really perked up in the sunshine with the boom boom spray and kelp dosing, so I put her outdoors again at first light today. I also re-planted her in the same cup, but I put about 2 centimeters of coarse perlite in the bottom along with another handful of soil. Her tiny lower branches are finally getting some light! I'll start training her a bit now, and I should be able to FIM her tomorrow or the next day. She's in direct scorching sunlight for 8 hours a day and about 8 inches below a 40w Sansi 4000k LED and a 75w LED panel (6500k/460nm 1:1 ratio) for 16 hours a day, I'll dial it back to 22-hour days at the first sign of flowering and swap out the blue/white panel for an all 660nm red panel(or two), and continue to gradually decrease her nighttime until harvest I've also got a little 20w spotlight with a Cree chip that's tuned to 3000k that I'll probably hammer her "massive" cola with as she starts to ripen up.😎 SUNDAY: She was looking a little bit haggard after yesterday...I think the sun is beating her up too badly. With such a tiny amount of soil, I think the roots are getting way too hot, even being in a cup within a cup wrapped with duct tape. Today, I'm leaving her indoors under the LEDs, but considering putting her cup inside another solo cup without any drainage holes, and setting that cup into pot of water with a fresh "blue ice" pack so as to keep the root temperature down...and replacing the blue ice pack every couple of hours while she's outdoors...or maybe I'll just take a pot and fill it with some of the orange-red clay that I find when I dig down a couple of feet..create a solo cup sized hole in it so that she has a surrounding layer of clay to keep her cooler during the day...not sure.. I foliar fed her and mixed about 4 grams of Bactrex into a jug with 3/4 gallon of bottled water and douched all my plants with about 2 pints each, except her...she got about 6 oz. of solution. That should really get the beneficial bacteria and fungus kicked into overdrive. I started brewing a 4 gallon batch of compost tea today. Since I don't have any Orgatrex, I am using a little Big Bloom, Kelp Me Kelp You, and Grow Big in the tea in addition to the PK Compost Booster tea from Bio Tabs. I'll add Mycotrex to it about 2 hours before it finishes and thoroughly dowse them all tomorrow morning. MONDAY: Today, after I FIM'd her, I decided to move her outdoors into a semi-shaded spot, with the rest of the girls during the day. To deal with the heat on her roots, I decided to just bury the larger solo cup (no drainage holes or soil in it) up to the rim in a 3 gallon pot full of soil. This will allow me to easily bring her indoors every (or every other) night to soak up more light in my cabinet. The plant's roots will never have any access to the other soil, but I'm hoping that if I keep that outer soil wet it will hold the root temperatures down in the soil inside the cup. If it turns out that her roots are so strong that they "break through" the plastic to get to the outer soil, I'll either remove the plastic and drop out of the contest, or just bring her indoors permanently.😁 She got some freshly brewed compost tea this morning along with a foliar feeding...a major pain in the ass to lug a 5-gallon pail down to the site...maybe I'll invest in a small solar panel and 12 volt battery and inverter so I can do the brewing on site...

Week 4: Growth Spurts and New Challenges Continued Growth and Health As we move into the fourth week, the plants are showing impressive growth. Their leaves are a lush, vibrant green, and the stems are becoming stronger. The transition to the larger 11-liter fabric pots has clearly paid off, providing the roots with ample space and better aeration. Adjusting Nutrient Levels Given their positive response to the nutrients, I decided to continue with 2/3 of Terra Aquatica Tripart feeding schedule, adjusting slightly to meet their increasing demands. Here's the updated feeding plan for this week: CalMag: 2.5 ml/l (Starting EC before adding nutrients: 0.50 mS/cm) Grow: 1.5 ml/l Bloom: 1.0 ml/l Micro: 0.5 ml/l EC: 1.2 mS/cm (600 ppm PPM-500/TDS) pH: 6.0 Each plant is watered with approximately 20% runoff to ensure there's no nutrient buildup in the coco mix. I will maintain this nutrient level until the pre-flowering stage to avoid the risk of nutrient burn due to over-fertilization. Weather Improvements and Adjustments The weather has been steadily improving, with temperatures expected to rise to around 25°C starting Wednesday, accompanied by abundant sunshine. This upcoming forecast is excellent news for my plants, as I anticipate a final growth spurt before flowering begins. Every centimeter of growth counts at this stage, and I'm optimistic about maximizing their potential under these favorable conditions. Strengthening with Wind Exposure On days with good weather, I move the plants out of the greenhouse to expose them to natural wind. This practice helps strengthen their stems, improving overall stability. Additionally, the wind creates a more challenging environment for pests, helping to keep them at bay. Smart Watering Strategy I only water the plants when the pots feel noticeably lighter. This encourages the roots to search for water, promoting the development of a stronger and more extensive root system. This method helps ensure the plants remain healthy and resilient. Pest Management: Observations and Actions At the beginning of the third week, I noticed dark discolorations on the undersides of some leaves. A few days later, these spots turned into yellow patches. I am still unsure about the cause of these spots. To prevent a potential insect infestation, I sprayed all the leaf surfaces, both top and bottom, with a mildly dosed neem oil mixture. Since then, the spots have not spread further. Because these discolorations are only affecting the lower leaves, they are not causing me significant concern at the moment. Regular inspections and preventive measures are crucial to maintaining the health of the plants and ensuring that any issues are caught early. Decision Against LST At first I have decided against using LST. But some of your comments made me try some LST on two of my plants. I choose Tangie and Gorilla cookies to try out and learn some stuff. Blue dream and Banana purple punch stay without any training. Just a perfect outdoor grow, after last year I wasn't very confident that the plants would finish, but the dry weather helped a lot. It's about the journey too for me, just love to see them grow everyday, combat problems and have a big community here that's always willing to help!

Thank you to everyone for following this journey! The results were nuts. Honestly, I would've been happy with 40g dry as this is my first grow. I DEFINITELY did not expect this outcome which is insane. This gives me so much confidence in my future grows and appreciation for the companies whose products I used. So, now to the point - Dry weight - Top class buds - 176g, smaller buds - 32g, larf/leaves/scissor hash - 26g. To sum up - 208g of product you can smoke and 26g that'll go to edibles. First grow, 2x2 tent, 100w light, three-part fertilizer and cal mag - that's insane, especially because I was expecting nothing more than 60g and like I mentioned, I would've been happy with 40g. I even thought my scale was broken or something went wrong, I still can't believe I pulled 208g of bud. It took 117 days from seed to smoke - that's disregarding the cure. Seed to flower in 42 days. Flower to harvest in 61 days. 14 days drying. Thank you to FastBuds, I've sent them an email about the grow with some questions and got a speedy reply with some pointers towards the end of the flower. Also, I don't have anything to compare this grow with but I had 0 issues with pests which I was really happy about. I didn't have to spray anything on the plants, didn't have a single bug inside the tent. They mention on the website that NL is a very resilient strain so that might've been because of this specific strain. Spiderfarmer light did amazing too - 208g of bud from 100w light!. General Hydroponics did way better than I expected - there's so many companies with multiple bottles of nutrients that expect you to spend ridiculous amounts of money on their products while I got crazy results with just 3 basic bottles. Cal and Mag by Canna worked with no complaints. Takeaways - seems like the runoff pH doesn't matter in coco - I could be wrong but I struggled with coco pH from the very beginning. Regardless, the outcome speaks for itself. Maybe the harvest would've been even better with an optimal pH but in this particular grow, I don't think it mattered much. Before starting this grow I've done A LOT of research and it looks like it most definitely paid off! I was panicking at first because of the slow growth. The plant also had some leaf deformities and the color wasn't as green as I've expected it to be. It was stressful at first, I think especially because I was constantly comparing my grow to someone else's. This specific LST method where I kept rotating the main stem clockwise every day or two paid off as well. The canopy was relatively even and new tops grew crazy fast. The only thing left to do is to cure the bud. I had two 1.5L containers ready for cure/storing since I didn't expect to pull much but had to go acquire a few more "big boys" to fit all the product in, which is a good problem to have. I don't think that I'll be updating the cure here but the plan is to burp 2x/day for 15-30min each time for the first week and 1x/day for 15-30min the second week. After the first couple of weeks I won't be timing the burps. As of now, I've placed boveda 62% packs inside the containers to maintain a RH of at least 58% in the jars. About the Northern Lights strain - the smell hasn't fully returned yet post trim, but it smells like sweet fruits with a hint of black pepper. You can still smell a bit of pine/grass but I think that'll be gone after the cure. Buds are covered with trichomes, they shine like diamonds when you take a better look. Also, the buds look a little airy but are still really dense when pressed. The smoke - It's a tasty, relaxing high. I get why people describe it as night time smoke but for me personally, it grounds me a bit and I can enjoy it anytime. Also, it burns white ash :)) P.S. This is a lengthy diary but I hope that people can learn some stuff from my notes shall they read them! Thanks to everyone that followed the journey, showed support or just browsed through. All the ladies bounced back from the little stress at the transition. They are all charging. On 9.11 I’ve increased the light from 600 to 660w. We will see tomorrow how they handle it.
