I'm very happy with this weeks progress. They transitioned very well to the garden, which I'm chocking up to the row cover. They didn't need any water due to the thunderstorm we had last night, but I did make a ring around the base of each plant and gave them about 1-2 TBSP of the Coast of Maine Stonington Blend fertilizer. They also got their tomato cages.

Intermediate Results Overview This grow was intense! Setting up the grow consumed so much of my time and focus that I started slacking at work, and it took me a month to get back on track. But hey, what’s the point of a job if it gets in the way of growing? 😉 In the end, everything worked out, and I gained invaluable experience. This was my first grow using coco coir. At first, I didn’t get it, but then it just clicked! Now I’m hooked: "I’m here to stay." Coco is more controlled than soil, flushes easily, and you can introduce beneficial microbes, which thrive in it. My main takeaway from this grow? If you buy coco, don’t forget CalMag! Next time, I’ll definitely install HEPA filters at the intake. The amount of dust was insane, and the grow box pulls air like a vacuum cleaner. Watching the timelapse, you can see the box sucking in every bit of dust. I vacuumed the intake filters weekly. The plant was incredibly sticky, but that also meant it caught a lot of lint and fibers between trichomes, especially visible under a microscope. Smoking microplastics? No, thank you! --- On CO2 CO2 only works if everything else is dialed in. If the plant experiences stress from deficiencies or overfeeding, you can forget about it. Since CO2 supplementation requires turning off the exhaust fan, it’s hard to manage temperature and humidity. The plant releases so much moisture that RH jumps to 80% within minutes. It’s doable, but definitely a challenge. --- On Magnetic Fields No clue what’s happening here yet, but it’s fascinating! I’ll test again with a control sample. --- Nutrients Dreams do come true—I’ve tested almost everything Advanced Nutrients offers. It wasn’t all smooth sailing; their feeding charts need adjustments for your conditions, and you usually need to feed less than recommended. Overall, I’d say the nutrients performed 100%, and I see no reason to switch. I’ll stick with them for future grows. --- Strain This strain is reliable, though not the most productive. It flowered exactly as advertised and delivered a frosty finish. It tolerated all my mistakes like a champ—especially mold. Despite an abandoned SCROG plan turning the plant into a bouquet, there wasn’t a single mold spot, even in the densely packed lower buds that got almost no light. Zero mold issues! --- Aroma As advertised: pine, wood, and citrus. At first, I thought it smelled like grapefruit, but now I’m leaning toward bergamot. Bergamot with a classic weed aroma—a recognizable twist on the usual scent. During the grow, the smell was strong, but the carbon filter handled it perfectly. --- Flavor It’s too early to say, but the flavor is definitely there! Embarrassingly, all my past harvests tasted the same—like nothing. Just smoke. This one has a distinct sour taste. I’m excited to see how it develops after curing. --- Effect Too early for a full review, but I love what I’ve tried so far. The high lasts about three hours, with euphoria and relaxation. It’s the perfect evening strain. I’ve smoked a lot over the years, but I’ve never experienced true euphoria—until now. Guess I’ve been stuck with garbage and ditch weed before. 😅 It’s not a strain for productivity or chores, but it’s perfect for chilling, watching something, or chatting. No anxiety, just great vibes. It feels like having a beer after a long day: you relax, and life feels good again. --- Roots The roots were healthy—maybe too healthy! While the AirPot (20L) prevented root circling, it didn’t eliminate it entirely. There were dead zones at the bottom where roots circled around the perimeter. A dense root mat formed at the bottom (so dense you couldn’t poke a finger through it), which likely contributed to salt buildup. Breaking through that mat required more water, and I suspect this caused EC to spike 1.5x the next day if there was no runoff. Next time, I’ll mix some pumice with the substrate at the bottom, about 3–4 cm deep. --- Timelapse I only got the timelapse running after the switch to flowering, so it’s not from the beginning. Still, it’s an incredibly useful tool for understanding growth rates. I’ll definitely use it for future grows. Comparing yesterday to today is one thing, but rewinding a week to see how things were is game-changing. I recommend it! You can even use an old phone with a timelapse app if your camera doesn’t support it by default. --- What’s Next I’ve grown fat buds before, but I’ve always neglected curing. This time, I’m doing it by the book with full control. Drying in the grow box with RH controlled at 50–60% (averaging 55%) for a slow, even dry. Temps are kept between 20–23°C, with frequent venting to keep it below 21°C for terpene preservation. After 7–10 days, when small stems snap with a characteristic sound, I’ll trim and jar them with humidity sensors. For the first two weeks, I’ll burp the jars twice daily, then reduce to once daily for the next two weeks. After that, I’ll monitor the RH sensors and adjust as needed. I’ll share the details after curing is complete. After drying, I’ll weigh the buds, take photos, and share another post in a month or two after curing to report on the flavor and aroma. For now, I’m taking a breather, fine-tuning my setup, and preparing for my next grow: Wizard Trees - Zangria S1.

Week 7 of flowering Buds are swelling and not much production anymore. Seeds are also developing and I think that the tops don't have that much seeds in them and most are in the larf. I moved one Cree led from top to bottom last week and now I moved it to closer to these girls to promote the production of the lower buds/popcorn. pH has been stable 6.4 no matter what but ec is drifting and I diluted it this week from 3.6->2.8 and now the ec is 2.6 Trichomes are maybe 70% clear and 30%cloudy so I'd say that two weeks and they are ready!

Choco Cookies: This one has been a little too sensitive with nutrients, it only has a few small buds, the other plants overshadow it. Banana Cake: TBH I thought this was going to be the one with the biggest buds, they look frosty tho. 15 Jan Some fan leaves are starting to look pretty damaged by a previous nutrient lock.

I stopped giving them Bio Grow since the harvest is near.. I cut some yellow leaves and they all look beautiful :) Can't wait until harvest :D

Week 5 – Time to Bloom! We’ve entered Week 5, and it’s time for a big change — we’ve switched the light schedule to 12/12 to trigger the flowering stage for our beautiful Gorilla Girl! She’s growing impressively — now standing over 30 cm tall and stretching out nicely in width as well. To guide her structure and maximize light exposure, we applied some LST (Low Stress Training) and gently tied down the main stem. We’ve also carefully removed a few top shoots to help redirect energy where it’s needed most. Everything’s going smoothly — our girl is strong, healthy, and ready to bloom! Big thanks to Sweet Seeds for the outstanding genetics and to Xpert Nutrients for the support in every stage of growth. Let the flowering begin!

Northern lights is doing good. She is starting to get a citrus aroma. I have been feeding twice a week. Everything is going well. I hst her some more mid week. Going into week 9, seeing some frost on the leaves and the aroma is stronger and so nice. She looks great after the heavy defoliation last week, contrary to opinions from a few critics. Sometimes I like to find out for myself, I read many different viewpoints on defoliation and I decided to try. And it worked. Peace friends, happy growing! 🌱👍

The crisping of the leaves where bothering me so I decided to do a hard flush of the plants to lower what I think was a EC issue. I was also wondering about the PH and it was on point at 6.8 from the flush water I gathered. I do not own a EC pen so could not monitor that aspect of it. It looks like it may have helped a bit. Hard to tell at this point the death has slowed a lot and I am seeing fading signs that I am used to seeing so it makes me feel a bit better. I think I have stunted this growth a bit because of this mishap but should still be a good harvest. The soils temp is getting down to 12c at night, The ambient air temps of the tent are aorund 15-18 at night though. Good for adding colour into the fade. During the say its keep steady around 26-27. Starting to smell more and more and loving every time I open the tent. Given they are stuck in a scrog net trying to remove the bottom trays to empty them cause them to be rustled a bit and they released a lot of lovely scents. I am in the last week or two now. Will be giving them one more heavy molasses feeding and then nothing else. They got their last ChitoSal and I think it made this plant more frosty then the Blue Cindy, would really need a side by side to confirm if its working at all. Will monitor its length from the SCROG net vs soil as its easier to measure. 33cm from SCROG net to base of plant 33cm from SCROG net to tip of plant Total 66cm for week eight of flower. +/-0cm from Last Week, all done growing now Just like last week I am no longer posting about the clones in this diary. A friend had a chance to take some photos for me, also continued with some defoliation as well. Nutrients are doing well, hopefully buds really take off this week.

Welcome back!!! It’s the beginning of week four. I now consider this plant to have finished the seedling phase, now move onto the veg stage. THURSDAY - Day 22 10 October 24 - Switched the blue spec light out for the red spec light. - 380 PAR/ PPFD at 26 inches distance. - Topped the two bottom branches. - Started doing a little LST by adding a few staples and a little bit of branch manipulation. - She’s slowly shaping to my vision for this plant. - Gotta start thinking of up potting her soon into her final home. FRIDAY - Day 23 11 October 24 - Added two more LST staples. - Just a day under the lights. SATURDAY - Day 24 12 October 24 Watering day, 1 litre of dechlorinated tap water. - Base water 1 litre - 61.1 PPM Final - 1 litre at 6.45 PH at 62.8 PPM Runoff - N/A - Thinking of removing those giant fam leaves soon, they’re becoming cumbersome. - Did my final planned topping of the two top branches. - I tweaked a top branch and there was a pop at the knuckle, not a complete break but there’s a bit of damage. - I’m fairly confident that she’ll send resources to fix it and make it even stronger. - No stress, we push forwards and roll with the punches cause that’s what we do around here. SUNDAY - Day 25 13 October 24 - Just a day under the lights. - She doesn’t seem too bothered by yesterday’s branch tweaking. - There’s a but of a split but it seems to be scabbing over. - I’ll keep monitoring it over the next few days. MONDAY - Day 26 14 October 24 - Just a day under the lights. - Also a good recovery day. WEDNESDAY - Day 28 16 October 24 - Just a day under the lights recovering from yesterday’s transplant and extended light hours. - She’s perked back up and looking happy though. - Probably resume with LST staples tomorrow. - The tweaked branch looks like it’s going to recover just fine, just a little weary about working it too soon. This is effectively the end of week four, it’s been quite eventful but we’re done with topping and transplanting so we’ll see how she gets on these next few weeks of pure unadulterated vegetation.
