Girls are thirsty still! Been having to feed/water every third day! It’s been so hot and humid, the humidity was in check but the temps hovered around 82-84 degrees in the tent this week. Gave them a light feed, with emphasis on the micro and big bud, along with two straight ph’d waterings. Tricomes are mostly cloudy with a few amber, and some clear still hanging in there. Another week for sure, maybe two or close to it. It’s a 7-8 week flowering strain, but after 16 weeks of growing, I don’t want to rush to the finish. This coming feed will be their last with nutrients and then PH’d water till harvest. I don’t flush, I just “rinse” and allow the plant to take the remaining nutrients for about 4 feeds. This seems to have worked out the best for me, flavour and smoke wise… stay tuned, here comes the good part 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨

9/16/23 - Day 106 - Today was the last day of nutes. Tomorrow I start my 6 day flush with just PH 6.1 water. This is the last step before the chop! I'll throw some pictures up tomorrow of the last water exchange. I'll take some videos of the process as well. 9/17/23 - Day 107 - I added a video uptop to show how a manual water change is completed. There are two options when you start your grow to either use a water hook up or add and remove water manually. I got the unit so quickly that I didn't have my water hook up ready. For the next grow it will be ready for automatic everything. Over the next 6 days I'm going to let her drink up as much water as she can then on the 23rd I will harvest and then hang them in the box to dry. 9/22/23 - Day 112 - I've been on vacation for the past week. I turned 40 on the 18th and I took the family to Disneyland. I've had someone managing the box for me in my absence. The box is so easy to use the person who is house sitting was able to keep the operation going. That's a great sign that anyone can do this. Tomorrow is the chop! I'm super excited! So far this week she has been taking in 2x the amount of water than normal. She's dying and she knows it! She still looks just as green, no welting. Looking good. Check out the photo up top. I just got home after a CRAZY long drive home. The plant still looks the same as far as color. I was expecting her to welt, and to have yellow leaves. But she looks like shes still doing good. This is nuts. Shes not really showing any signs of dying even though shes been in .7 ppm for over a week! I may let it go another day or two? Im not really sure, I'm in super unchartered territory, you're all going to learn this along with me. Ill post updates.

Such Bittersweet Joy Added this week as ‘Flowering’ although technically should be harvested as I but I haven’t had a chance to weigh or anything. I will do that next week once trimmed etc. So finally cut them down on D89, it was a beautiful day outside and it just felt right. Although when it came to the deed itself I felt sadder than I thought I would for my girls and the time we had together. All 6 (I’m growing another 3 different strains but not included on this diary) are now hanging to dry in the tent. Temp -18 C; Humidity-60% seems to be holding steady with no tinkering thankfully. After the 3 days they have all dried noticeably, perhaps 4/5 more before trimming / curing. I’ve had quite a close look at most of the harvest and as far as this noob can tell, there doesn’t seem to be any issues with mould / bud rot. Fingers remain crossed. I did have one very profound moment this week... It happened as I was surveying the harvest hanging up for the first time. I could feel my mindset change suddenly from the constant paranoia over their health and overcoming my impatience to “I actually have a crap load of weed”. It was beautiful beautiful moment... Hello!, Day 60 Flower I just done the my first harvest ever. Gelat og has cool looking buds, After seen the BUD ROT on one single bud in day 59 yesterday , Today in Day 60 i just cut the plant down for Dry. Going to WASH the buds with H202 (half of them) and going to dry for 10-14 Days and in to Jars for another 14-21 Days as I learned from fellow growmies. The girls are just fat blooms. It is approaching the harvest. Certainly not next week, but I'm already checking the trichomes under a magnifying glass. It's time, they're not all white yet. Blooms makes me very happy, they smell beautiful, they are big and thick and even red. 😍

The Mold Incident: A Teachable Moment This week brought a challenge—a few buds succumbed to bud rot (Botrytis), particularly on the Papaya Zoap and a single bud from the Gorilla Melon. While disheartening, it’s a reminder that mold can occur even in the most well-maintained gardens, especially with dense colas and a full canopy. After a thorough inspection, all affected buds were removed and discarded to prevent the spread. A quick note to all growers: defoliation plays a massive role in airflow and prevention of such issues. This is why mid-flower defoliation is a game-changer, and I’m grateful it kept the rest of the garden healthy! Papaya Zoap’s Unique Quirks The Papaya Zoap continues to be a star of the show with its frosty buds and… albino tips! These tiny white tips are likely from being too close to the lights. While it’s a cosmetic detail that doesn’t affect quality, it’s a fascinating display of how genetics and environment interact. A Frost-Filled Wonderland The room is absolutely glistening with frost. 8/19 (Day 63) - Pretty normal/typical today. Have just been monitoring since the defoliation a few days ago. Environment has been stable, stay around 78/79 degrees during the day and around 73 at night. Humidity fluctuates between 55-60 RH. PH stays 5.8/5.9. I did accidentally feed a bit much and have been watering with just RO water and they have been drinking fine, a few deficiencies and I also lowered my light power by 10%. I may end up changing the res and water tomorrow just because I did mix my nutrients a little hot by accident and took me a few days to notice. Everything is looking pretty good thus far and we are getting closer to finishing! Pretty pleased with my first grow but excited for the second because I have more knowledge and have a few things that im going to correct and do differently. Will be updating throughout the week. Thanks for looking. 8/20 (Day 64) - Decided to just ride out and keep topping the res with RO water, Calmag, and Rootdrip. I think I added too much Calmag last week trying to correct the calcium deficiency I was seeing. Girls are drinking just fine and not showing any real issues. Everything is stays in check. Tomorrow is water and nute change. 8/21 (Day 65)- Woke up early and got the everything pumped out and fresh water and nutrients back in. Definitely over did it on the calmag last week by mistake but doesn't look like any real harm done. Roots and plants are looking good and getting big! All the plants seem at slightly different stages in flower though, not sure if its something ive done or just differences in plants genetically. All conditions are in check and gonna continue to watch them hopefully keep fattening up! As always, tips and recommendations always appreciated!

The smell on this one is next-level for real! I got 2–3 different phenos, but they all carry that same loud scent I’d describe it as sweet and fruity I honestly can’t wait to smoke it, and judging by the insane layer of trichomes she’s rocking, I already know she’s gonna hit hard.😝😝

These are going to be some pretty in a month from now. The tallest is at approx 6” from the light at approx 380w so we’ll see so far no sign of light or heat stress.

Day 56 - Rinsed with Botanicare Clearex solution. Day 58 - 2 Days after the rinse and the buds are fattening nicely. The pots are still too wet to water so I'll patiently wait to introduce the new Fox Farms Bembe and Cha Ching.
