July 27: still growing fast. The new growth is a bit yellow and I haven’t decided what that’s due to. Lack of sulphate or excess Phosphorus are the two options I think. Anyway, she’s doing fine and is startling to preflower. 👍 Started using a 730 nm far red light for a few seconds at dusk. This is called phyto-forcing apparently because it promotes flowering. I really love science when it figures out random shit like how photosynthesis and light wavelength (or colour) interact. Outdoor plants naturally see a flash of far red light just before darkness and this light kind of ‘puts it to sleep’ or into dark mode two hours faster. So, two extra hours darkness or a 26 hour day. Sounds bogus but is totally legit. July 28: foliar spray of Extreme Blend and potassium silicate. July 30: plant is looking great. The yellow on the new growth has faded and is now a better looking shade of green. I think it might have been excess P because the other plants kind of had it too and the timing was a couple days after adding barley and Power Bloom. This is right at the start of flowering when plants need lot of P, and the yellow is fading, so I’ll just let it go without doing anything about it. She’ll get over it.

So Flowering has started, I defoliated a bit and started giving some Bloom and flower...the humidity is starting to stress me out because its super humid outside and getting some crazy RH (70/80%) I need to fix this before it becomes an issue. So I moved my clip on fan to the bottom to see if I could move the canopy a bit better. it lacks power though.

Welcome to the Zamnesia Spring Cup 🏆 Hello everyone :-) A lot has happened this week 🤗. It has developed very nicely and its roots have exploded properly 😍. It is also slowly becoming lighter, since it has obviously been slowly consuming its nutrients from the soil :-) That is why it was repotted today, mixing 3 layers with a total of 60-75 g Monster Bud Mix between the soil. Then everything was mixed and distributed well, and the plant used. Unfortunately I noticed too late that I didn't take any pictures of the root ball while repotting 🤦‍♂️🏻. I look forward to seeing how it evolves this week. Above all, I am excited to see how she is doing with the Monster Bud Mix, as I have been used to mixing everything for each wash separately 😊. During the course of this week I will also spontaneously decide whether I will give her an LST, topping fimming, etc., since I have to see how I am in the vegi phase, because the Spring Cup has a limited time 😁. Thank you to everyone for following this journey! The results were nuts. Honestly, I would've been happy with 40g dry as this is my first grow. I DEFINITELY did not expect this outcome which is insane. This gives me so much confidence in my future grows and appreciation for the companies whose products I used. So, now to the point - Dry weight - Top class buds - 176g, smaller buds - 32g, larf/leaves/scissor hash - 26g. To sum up - 208g of product you can smoke and 26g that'll go to edibles. First grow, 2x2 tent, 100w light, three-part fertilizer and cal mag - that's insane, especially because I was expecting nothing more than 60g and like I mentioned, I would've been happy with 40g. I even thought my scale was broken or something went wrong, I still can't believe I pulled 208g of bud. It took 117 days from seed to smoke - that's disregarding the cure. Seed to flower in 42 days. Flower to harvest in 61 days. 14 days drying. Thank you to FastBuds, I've sent them an email about the grow with some questions and got a speedy reply with some pointers towards the end of the flower. Also, I don't have anything to compare this grow with but I had 0 issues with pests which I was really happy about. I didn't have to spray anything on the plants, didn't have a single bug inside the tent. They mention on the website that NL is a very resilient strain so that might've been because of this specific strain. Spiderfarmer light did amazing too - 208g of bud from 100w light!. General Hydroponics did way better than I expected - there's so many companies with multiple bottles of nutrients that expect you to spend ridiculous amounts of money on their products while I got crazy results with just 3 basic bottles. Cal and Mag by Canna worked with no complaints. Takeaways - seems like the runoff pH doesn't matter in coco - I could be wrong but I struggled with coco pH from the very beginning. Regardless, the outcome speaks for itself. Maybe the harvest would've been even better with an optimal pH but in this particular grow, I don't think it mattered much. Before starting this grow I've done A LOT of research and it looks like it most definitely paid off! I was panicking at first because of the slow growth. The plant also had some leaf deformities and the color wasn't as green as I've expected it to be. It was stressful at first, I think especially because I was constantly comparing my grow to someone else's. This specific LST method where I kept rotating the main stem clockwise every day or two paid off as well. The canopy was relatively even and new tops grew crazy fast. The only thing left to do is to cure the bud. I had two 1.5L containers ready for cure/storing since I didn't expect to pull much but had to go acquire a few more "big boys" to fit all the product in, which is a good problem to have. I don't think that I'll be updating the cure here but the plan is to burp 2x/day for 15-30min each time for the first week and 1x/day for 15-30min the second week. After the first couple of weeks I won't be timing the burps. As of now, I've placed boveda 62% packs inside the containers to maintain a RH of at least 58% in the jars. About the Northern Lights strain - the smell hasn't fully returned yet post trim, but it smells like sweet fruits with a hint of black pepper. You can still smell a bit of pine/grass but I think that'll be gone after the cure. Buds are covered with trichomes, they shine like diamonds when you take a better look. Also, the buds look a little airy but are still really dense when pressed. The smoke - It's a tasty, relaxing high. I get why people describe it as night time smoke but for me personally, it grounds me a bit and I can enjoy it anytime. Also, it burns white ash :)) P.S. This is a lengthy diary but I hope that people can learn some stuff from my notes shall they read them! Thanks to everyone that followed the journey, showed support or just browsed through. Well hello there 👋 thanks for stopping by and joining this journey of my White Widow grow! 💯 So to begin the week I was thinking....should I screw with this lovely girl or shouldn't I....?!?!?! Weeelllllllllll..... I just could not resist and dove right in lmao!!! Now in the new pictures for the week I really hope I've done my research and try and look for documentation about "LEAF LINING" and I am pretty sure there has been no terminology about it so I'm sure there will be critics and I look forward to your knowledge towards this training method for similarities....💯 MOVING ON 🤦‍♂️ Alright here we go.... so the beginning of the week I measured her at 8inchs. She grew a good 2.5 inches in 5 days so I had to top this girl because of height issues in the tent. I ultimately feel this was the absolute best thing for my height and the plant! 💯 and I 100% do not want to kick her early!!!! Now she's grown an 1inch since topping her 2 days ago and the prizes inside are flourishing and are growing like wild fire 🔥 🔥🔥 What until you see them 🤯 So what I have done to the inside this week is what I like to call "LEAF LINING" I basically pin the shoots created by the fan leaves to the actual fan leaf itself!!!! I know right 🤯 This has proven to be very effective which you can see the length of the shoots themselves. (some are 3.5inchs long) The stock of the fan leaves provide a straight path for growth outward! Its truly fascinating! (PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS HAS TERMINOLOGY OR NOT) Ok so I have introduced a new idea to the grow! Adding a Ring of 4 rows of wire that are attached in a circle to the top of the self-wick pot. I have fastened it using Zip ties as I did for the "LEAF LINING" 👈🤪 This was introduced for when those shoots grow out with the fan leaves as the fan leaf can no longer be of support at some point. Cant wait for that to happen. This is going be a wild ride growmies and growmettes!!!! 2 october First of all... This girl was planted in a position under a tree. She is a real outdoor strain. I had succes with maroc in guerilla grows before. Sun hours are key. Having that in mind. The way this Outdoor Grapefruit performed in her bad spot is incredible. She grew away from the shady patch just like Maroc did. Meaning she was leaning and basicly I ended up scrogging her to face the southern side. The backside was of the net was empty. In a sunny spot this girl would have gone through the roof. She is super sticky. Amazingly fruity, my favourite strain outdoors this year. She performed wel in the cold and rain. Mould was everywhere but she managed best. Could have gone another week but forecast were bad and my planning did not allow that extra time. So many thing still left to do with such monster plants and incoming harvest. Ill keep you posted on weight, with budshots in the smoke report. Peace out✌️
