Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. there is a significant increase in growth after bending the upper cola, as compared with the sativa, the WB grows and blooms much faster, very grateful to your advice, everything is clearly illuminated, on the next allotment I think to add some ice and shed everything with cold water, the flavor is very strong, for three days I made leaf clippings on the lower part of the plant, fertilized 2-3 times a week, I try to add less than the specified norm, I don’t feel like leaves, I feel as you can see it’s not very bad, I feel this variety will be closer to the harvest than the neighboring sativa, it pleases, and I feel the harvest will not be bad) Well, we are waiting for 7 weeks, wish me luck)

Nearly gave up on these as the whole tent door ripped. Tried various ways to fix it but failed. Temps and humidity were all over the place and they really suffered. Managed to rig up a temporary door out of Kingspan and some roofing membrane and I’m kinda glad I did now as there looks like there’s some buds on these. Dont think yield will be massive but glad I didn’t pull the plug.

Girls are looking stunning, first round with the cropsalt nothing else PH 5.8, no fluctuations, DTW. It been a slow transition to flower but this could also be due to flippin’ early, in a weeks time when I see more pistils and flower development I’ll be switching over to Bloom nutes. Temps/RH are on point 80/60 has been my range for this one.

Mein erster Auto Grow auf dem Balkon. Hatte einen Gratis Samen von 420 fast bud und bin schon richtig gespannt auf diese Pflanze. Habe mich für den Plagron Royalmix entschieden. Ganz unten im Topf habe ich Bad Mix von plagron genommen und als Drenage schicht am Boden habe ich Tongranulat genommen.

It was a fairly busy week for this fine lady. No one likes their lady too bushy, right, 😉 so I have been cleaning up lower growth every 2-3 days as of late. I also put her in a 20 gallon pot this week and that was a bigger challenge then I anticipated 😅😅. First I had to get her untied. Then I didn’t quite get her tied down as well as I had her in the 10 gallon pot but she is still nicely laid out IMO. I may have to adjust how she is tied down in the weeks to come as these genetics can really stretch out!! Stay tuned 😎🍿🍻🌱

This week went by well, I will start checking the trichomes on the Runtz at the end of this week. It should be ready for harvest in the next 2 to 3 weeks The G13 is still smelling like magic, looking majestic. The GDP buds are starting to put on weight

These girls are mostly doing amazing I had an issue where my pup came in to the greenhouse and lollipopped my GG4 but she stayed alive.

So sadly we lost the first seed to some unforeseen catastrophe. So we popped another one and it has taken the place of its sister wonderfully. Fat sticky buds, they smell delicious

She still drinking a good amount of water but able to extent the waterings to 3 days apart before she gets thirsty again. Stopped feeding except one watering was with molasses and the other ph'ed filtered tap water to 6.5 and bubbled a few hours before use. Upward bud growth is stopping and the buds are starting to plump up more and becoming more dense. Sill a good amount of white hairs but most are brown now. Terps are starting to get much stronger this week. Very frosty and shiny buds are sweet and pungent. Plants are holding them self up nice despite all the weight. No signs of leaves fading color yet. Temps and humidity gave been in much more favorable range and starting to get a nice Day-night temp differential. I think the colors will start to ahow this week.
