Wow what a week this has been, the plants have all undergone fair dramatic changes. A real flurry of leaf yellowing, pistil darkening/curling, and bug swelling. The smell is really coming along now, I think we're really quite close to harvest. On the assumption that pre-flowering was two weeks, this strain should be ready at the end of week seven flowering, so in the case of this diary the end of week nine (i.e. one week to go!). Pistils are about 70-80% amber, and the lower pistils on buds have started curling inward. Trichomes look to me to be something like 10% clear 80% Milky 10% White. I have smoke tested a small bud off the lower part of plant 3 today after quick-drying overnight in the airing cupboard, taking into consideration the obvious chlorophyll from the fast dry, the high was much closer to what I am expecting than the last smoke test. It came on at the normal pace, was quite effective, and lasted a good while. I am really hoping I can navigate my way through the next process, as I feel quite close now to having some home grown bud for the first time. The plants are being well watered this evening with just water, and this will be the last time that I water them until harvest. I will continue to monitor these daily, I intend to harvest at the first sign of any amber trichome. Advice and comments welcomed. P.S. Exciting news! My order from Green House Seeds arrived today for my next diaries! :)

Chemical reactions in which, a single substance splits up into two or more simpler substances are called decomposition reactions. These reactions are carried out by energy, supplied by different sources. The required energy can be supplied by heat (thermolysis), electricity (electrolysis), or light (photolysis). Let’s talk about photolysis reactions (not photosynthesis): Photolysis (also called photodissociation and photodecomposition) is a chemical reaction, in which a chemical (an inorganic or an organic) is broken down by photons and is the interaction of one or more photons with one target molecule. The photolysis reaction is not limited to the effects of visible light, but any photon with sufficient energy (higher than the dissociation energy of the targeted bond) can cause the chemical transformation of the said (inorganic or organic) bond(s) of a chemical. Since the energy of a photon is inversely proportional to the wavelength, electromagnetic waves with the energy of visible light or higher, such as ultraviolet light, X-rays, and γ -rays, can also initiate photolysis reactions. Like all other peroxides, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) also consists of a relatively weaker O−O bond, which is susceptible to light or heat. The net equation for the reaction is: 2H2O2⟶2H2O+O2 The step-wise reaction mechanism is suggested as follows (Ref.1): H2O2+hν⟶2HO∙ HO∙+H2O2⟶HO−O∙+H2O HO−O∙+H2O2⟶2HO∙+H2O+O2 Using isotope studies it was confirmed that the O2 formed is cleanly derived from H2O2 (Ref.2). Notes: The rate increases rapidly in the presence of catalysts such as MnO2 and KI (Ref.2). The rate of decomposition is slow at room temperature, but it increases with temperature. It is believed to be due to thermal decomposition of H2O2, which seemingly accelerates the photolysis (Ref.3). References: 1.J. P. Hunt, H. Taube, “The Photochemical Decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide. Quantum Yields, Tracer and Fractionation Effects,” J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1952, 74(23), 5999–6002 (https://doi.org/10.1021/ja01143a052). 2.A. Interestingly, as early as 1934 Haber and Weiss (Ref. 1) proposed that HO2∙ is formed in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. The subsequent reaction of the transient superoxide radical anion with hydrogen peroxide has been determined to also form the hydroxyl radical (Ref. 2). The higher pH version of the last reaction is, therefore, best represented as: O2∙−+H2O2⟶2HO∙+OH−+O2 And as H++OH−=H2O, the net product formation is not altered. However, alkaline H2O2 is well known to be less stable than acidic hydrogen peroxide (Ref.3) even in absence of light exposure, which accelerates its decomposition (which can involve radical pathways) liberating oxygen! The High intensity was to strong (clearly my fault) in the beginning which stunted her overall stretch, she however still delivered super dense, terpene and trichome loaded buds.

A little confusing but i put my other to pineapple and the Hulkberry in this tent and send it into flower 2 days ago (14.3.2023) I believe the plants might have a nitrogen deficency but we are on it. All in all lookin good Now we have 2x TSL 2000 (300W) = 600W/120cm*90cm Plants: 2x Big Hulkberry (one topped early, one topped late) 2x Critical Kush (second largest plants) 2x SuperSilverHaze ( pretty small both plants) 2x Pineapple Kush (Had it rough) 1x Pinapple Kush (very small plant, 2l fabric pot..)

Well sliding into another week, I'm checking the trichomes and waiting for them to go milky, not sure if i can just check leaves for that. That's what i have been doing. I've been told i'm waiting for a portion of at least half of the hairs to go an orange/bronze color. Weird blotches become more prominent on leaves that its visible (they are just in some leaves) less than half id say around 15 - 20% and less than half of those seem pretty bad. I would like to know the cause if its nutrient lockout or a disease etc. Or perhaps its normal for late stage flowering i do not know

This is the final week, they are going to be chopped coming week. Already had some darkness and they are very very smelly. I am amazed at this strain's resilience. It had to deal with my noobishness with autos, heat, very hot soil and less PH buffering with my own super soil recipe (see the yellow image in the germination page) in the smaller bags. Still, they became huge and full of bud. Forbidden Runtz is an amazing strain. Very strong growth but also with most auto's I've grown: once the grow derails, it seldom recovers. But these do. I'm sure next grows I'm going to get even more out of them. Can't wait to try them again with what I've learned now. And you should all consider the SP-3000 as a growlight, look at my results! I will update when I've harvested, thanks for visiting!! Don't forget to check out the special spring discounts on www.mars-hydro.com Big hug Bud

🗓️ Week 11 – Flower Week 7 (MAC n Cheese only) This week brought a noticeable shift: After raising the input EC to 2.0, runoff EC spiked to 2.2–2.6 – a clear sign of salt saturation in the medium. Despite that, pH remained stable between 6.2–6.3, and no visible signs of overfeeding or nutrient lockout appeared. 🔧 Adjustment planned: Starting next watering, EC will be reduced to 1.6–1.7 to rebalance the substrate and maintain nutrient uptake efficiency. 🌿 Current plant status: MAC n Cheese is looking incredibly strong – healthy, vigorous, and showing no stress despite the high EC in the runoff. Frost production is in full swing now, and the buds are packing on serious weight. 🧀 Visuals & Flower Development: The buds are massive, dense, and coated in a thick frost layer – already resembling little icicles. She’s maturing into something special. ❄️🔥

I had alot of Fun with this Grow, and a lot of Growers, had a Story about the Strawaberry Cough. Thank you all for sharing that with me!!! I learned alot about the heritage of this Strain and its appearing in Movies and Music. Mr. Kushman itself had a great Story about Strawberry Cough, and how he got them as a Present But back to the Grow fast Germinating, Germiating Rate 100 Percent, fast grower, and then the Journey began...... One Pheno turned out with Cottoncandylike Buds , The other Pheno with Fistsized Dense Buds Booth showed a wonderful Scent, and they were a Pleasure to look One Plant is still growing Thank you @Miister_lee , for the opportunity to grow them And LEGALIZE WORLDWIDE
