The clone turned out great. Awesome smell, heavy frosty buds. Smells just like the mother plant she originated from. I did capture the light green pigment mutation, and she grew great overall. Just got my automatic humidity controller set up and they seem to really like the stable environment. Keeping temp. around 24ยฐC and humidity at 72%. I'm aiming for a VPD of 0.55 to 0.70 kPa. I'm also thinking of topping two plants and compare their growth and yield to the untopped plants since they are all the same strain. Wjat is your experience with topping autos? Do you do or recommend it?

~ GG4 SHERBET FAST FLOWER by FastBuds ~ Well fam, here we go again with another epic strain from FastBuds Fast Flowering stable. After having such tremendous success growing their Gorilla Cookies Fast Flower outdoors last year, I've decided to run another of their fast flowering strains outdoors this year... GG4 Sherbet Fast Flower! The best description of this awesome cultivar comes directly from my friends at FastBuds which is as follows: "Bred from extremely potent and flavorful Gorilla Glue and Orange Sherbet genetics, GG4 Sherbet FF (Fast-Flowering) takes all the best traits to the next level, offering a high-yielding strain that can produce up to 600 g/m2 in a 7-week flowering time. This super resilient Indica-leaning hybrid thrives indoors and outdoors, and in all types of climates while producing mouth-watering sweet, fruity, spicy and earthy terps that translate into a delicious sugary hazelnut aroma. Expect an extremely relaxing and overall happy effect thatโ€™ll leave you with a huge smile from ear to ear. Itโ€™s the perfect strain for growers of all levels of experience seeking low-maintenance yet highly productive photoperiod varieties that deliver quality and quantity without extra effort. GG4 Sherbet FF grows chunky buds with long dark orange hairs and spade-shaped calyxes that get encrusted with trichomes by harvest time, giving them a gorgeous silvery-white appearance. This medium-sized photoperiod can reach up to 200 cm in height and yields up to 650 g/m2 while developing that typical hybrid structure. GG4 Sherbet FF grows with a stocky, bushy appearance, developing one sturdy main cola and fat side branches that support huge yields without much effort. This super-fast variety produces distinctive light-green buds with a high bud-to-leaf ratio, making your trimming sessions a breeze. Itโ€™s a top-notch resin producer that doesnโ€™t need much maintenance and will thrive in almost every climate, rewarding growers of all levels with extremely flavorful resin that makes for outstanding hash end extracts." ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Setup: This is going to be an outdoor grow, but I have started the GG4 Sherbet Fast Flower indoors as our weather is still too cold to put her outside (nighttime temp's dipping regularly into the 30'sโ„‰). The plan is simple... let her grow inside under a 19/5 light schedule until the nighttime temperatures stay above the mid 40'sโ„‰, at which point she'll be moved outside and transplanted into the soil which I have already setup and inoculated with beneficial microbes, and then let the fun begin!๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ’š ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 5/2- Here we go into the fifth week for the GG4 Sherbet Fast Flower from FastBuds. Our weather is finally beginning to warm up and you can start to see it in the GG4 Sherbet FF as she is beginning to 'wake up'. 5/4- I have yet to see any insects either on top of, or underneath her leaves to determine what's causing the perforations on her leaves. I went ahead and sprayed her down with Neem oil and I'll keep an eye out to try and determine what the culprit is. 5/6- Rain showers today handled the watering duties and all I did was to add some straw to a couple of bare spots on the mound. 5/8- I'm not seeing much in the way of any new damage to the leaves of the FastBuds GG4 Sherbet FF. I will continue with the Neem oil preventative, along with spreading some powdered cayenne pepper around the base of the plant to take care of any slugs that may think of trying a taste of sherbet! Thank you for checking out my diary, your positive comments and support make it all worthwhile! ๐Ÿ’šGrowers Love!๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ™

We had rain morning Day 1 and the previous night. Early morning Day 2, around 2-3 a.m., we had thunderstorms with strong winds and heavy rain. This was followed by sunshine that afternoon. Despite the 5% rain forecast for day 3, we had a thunderstorm. It produced heavy rain and strong winds. For about a hour in the morning Day 3 and that evening showers. Day 4 was all day sunshine with a lite breeze. That was excellent turn of weather to dry out the soaked soil. Day 5, 6, and 7 we had sunshine and a breeze. I added 2.5 ml of ferrous sulfate per gallon of soil on day 1. I added a second dose of 2.5ml ferrous sulfate per gallon of soil top dressed on day 5 for a total of 5ml/gallon of soil, top dressed for the week. I added 1.3 ml/gallon of soil(10ml) blood meal, top dressing on day 5. I watered on day 6 and 7. The ferrous sulfate really began to work on day 6. On day 7 they had a healthy even green color and are rdy for the stretch to begin flower. These plants surviving and thriving through the challenging spring weather and grower proves how resilient these fastbuds genetics are.

W13.D1(88) ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ง๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒŸ The tips of the leaves are starting to burn ๐Ÿ”ฅ. In the drainage, TDS levels are between 1800 - 1900 ๐Ÿ’ง. Given my unconventional ๐ŸŒฑ fertilization scheme, which aims to provide everything for passive absorption ๐ŸŒŸ (without the expenditure of ATP on active), and the lack of data on the actual condition of the soil ๐ŸŒฑ, I will perform a small flush with pure spring water ๐Ÿ’ง each evening ๐ŸŒŸ. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ•’โซ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ“ˆ Today, I'm once again extending the daylight cycle ๐ŸŒž by 10 minutes โซ. The total increase has now reached 30 minutes ๐Ÿ•’, and currently, we're thriving on a schedule of 14.5 hours on, 9.5 hours off ๐Ÿ“ˆ. W13.D2(89) ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ“ˆ Partial flushes ๐ŸŒŠimmediately show their effect ๐Ÿ”ฎ - the scent of resin ๐ŸŒฟ and flowering ๐ŸŒธ intensifies significantly ๐Ÿ“ˆ W13.D3(90) ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ“œ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฟ Yesterday, I realized that almost no one scrolls down to what I consider fascinating content ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ“œ. Thus, I've decided to periodically repeat it ๐Ÿ”. Today, I want to return to the source of growth and vitality of the plant ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฟ. ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒž All energy in carbon-based life forms is produced through three mechanisms: cellular respiration, photosynthesis, and fermentation ๐ŸŒŸ. For plants, only cellular respiration and photosynthesis are relevant ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿƒ. Cellular respiration is the primary mechanism generating ATP (the universal cellular battery) ๐ŸŒฟ. The fuel for this process is oxygen (from the air) and glucose ๐ŸŒž. ๐Ÿค”๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ”ฌ But where does glucose come from in plants? It originates from the air through the second process called photosynthesis ๐Ÿค”๐ŸŒฟ. During its two phases (dark and light), water and carbon dioxide are converted into glucose and pure oxygen in the chloroplasts of leaves through the action of light ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ”ฌ. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ—๏ธ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒŸ Thus, glucose is then used both for cellular respiration and for growth (as building blocks) ๐Ÿ—๏ธ. It can be confidently stated that plants derive their mass and energy directly from the air ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฟ. And that leaves are the source of life force ๐Ÿ‚. The more leaves that remain, the more glucose the plant can produce, meaning more nourishment and "building blocks for growth" ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒŸ

Wow, what a great week for the plants! Despite some challenging weather conditions, they really thrived. We discovered that watering them more frequently helps them deal with the sun and dryness in the greenhouse, which is fantastic news. We've also taken steps to control pests by using peppermint and more neem oil around the house, and we've improved the greenhouse's foundation. It feels great to see everything coming together! While we're aiming for the best, we know there's still plenty to learn and do. Next week, we'll likely start implementing some new growth techniques now that the plants' stems are getting sturdier and more leaves are sprouting at the lower levels. It's exciting to see them progress through this vegetative stage!
