Plants with more direct UV showed much more purple across all 3 plants. The data shows that the number of terpenes in dried Cannabis flowers increases with a “No Red” light treatment for the final three days of production. Based upon these findings, we feel confident in recommending a spectrum control program that eliminates red light output from fixtures for the final 72 hours of the Cannabis flowering cycle. Terpenes are aromatic compounds that give cannabis some of its most distinct aromas from citrus and berry, to more earthy tones. Many species of plants produce and emit terpenes in a diurnal, or daily cycle that is regulated by a complex web of signaling. There are also many plants that emit terpenes at night to attract nocturnal pollinators (Marinho et al., 2014346). Regardless of when the terpenes are produced or emitted, these processes are often dependent upon cues derived from natural light/dark cycles via a native circadian clock (Dudareva et al., 2004). Several light-sensitive pigments are involved in these processes of production and emission, and the different photoreceptors are dependent upon different wavelengths of light to be activated or deactivated. Emission of terpenes is a process that is entirely dependent upon phytochromes and red/far-red light cues in most plant species (Flores and Doskey, 2015). For example, repeated light/dark phytochrome signaling is necessary for the emission of terpenes in tobacco plants (Roeder et al., 2007). Based on previous findings, we hypothesized that a lack of red light and phytochrome-mediated light/dark signaling on the part of the plant is responsible for an increase in terpene content in cannabis. Day 43/56: Hi growmies. We are rolling along nicely with the flowering period of these Expert ladies. The Mimosa Lemon continues to look huge from a distance but like any political party , up close it doesn't have a lot of substance to it. I suppose the Mimosa will prove herself in a few weeks time unlike our political elite !. lol She is a beautiful lemony scent that is a sweet and not acidic aroma. Her flowers are single pods with pistils clearly visible jnstead of the usual melded in sacs pushing the white hairs we are used to seeing I think she will be a very potent lady and base that in how she is raatinf resin and oils so far she will be a pain to trim and dry with her possible finish but would be a perfect candidate for extractions. I have started her on the shogun Dragon force for the next part of their cycle and am hopeful of a good finish with her. Swell weeks ahead !. Glueberry has continued to get her groove on with some very nice sticky and fruity buds buried among the bushy girls frame. I do regret not doing a defol but she was in recovery from the underwatering I had been doing and would have been possibly stunted more She has such a sweet/diesel tune to her now amdnreminds me so much of her gg4 lineage ( personal ,desert island strain by choice.lol) She has a lot of growth within her small frame but getting light below decks is not easy with her bushiness. she will be an interesting yield hopefully. I have also now started their week using the Shogun Dragon force finisher. I do rate this product and their whole range and as a user for many years now , I had hoped they would sponsor a grow with a complete @shogunnutrients run. here's hoping!!!. lol The Dragon force will replace their normal feed for a week. it provides a boost to the usual slowing down period at the flowering cycles near end point. When fade out begins to show , it can re invigorate them with balanced ratios that this part of the cycle needs and stop the plant decimating her stores and power plant, fan leaves . There is nothing I find less attractive than a "2 week flushed" plant that really needed the green chlorophyll to help finish the push to survive. It can miss the beneficial oil and rescue attempt to keep her last flush and hope of survival , alive. We adopt many odd techniques that induce major stress at the near end of the cycle in the hope of creating a final push of thc and oil. Things like stem splitting or snapping the mains a few days before harvest to simulate an animal attempting to eat them. This product offers the same without the risk for me. So there we have it this update folks. A good week and only about 20 days to go . fingers crossed I keep mould at bay till then.

Flipped last week, starting to tretch a little. Worried about the stretch Been watering until runoff each time and seeing better results. The girls sometimes end up really hungry because I an really being careful with the nutrients, but a day or two after feed they darken right right. Slowly turning up the lights up 1-2% a day to harden them off. Giving transition formula for the nutes - supposed to be 2ml per gallon for all three base nutes - I add a little less bloom until about 2nd week when I start to really enhance the P and K.

The temperatures, humidity, height, and watering volume(if measured) in grow conditions are all averaged for the week. The pH is soil pH. Any watering done by me is well water which is 7.6 pH and 50° F. Any listed nutrients are ml/gallon of soil spread evenly across the top of the soil. Daylight hours this week will be below 13.5. I can't use halves in the grow conditions, so I'm noting here. Day 1 we had a high temperature of 85°. Skies were cloudy all day. We had a huge thunderstorm with high winds roll through followed by heavy rain most of the day. I added another 100 ml of feather meal top dressed to each pot. Day 2 we had a high temperature of 90°F. Skies were partly cloudy. I watered about 5 gallons per pot. I treated today with Growers Ally fungicide. Day 3 we had a high temperature of 94°F. The girls were thirsty. I watered about 6 gallons per pot. I really wet them and the ground under the pots. They're feeding on the runoff in the soil as they've rooted through the pots. Day 4 we had a high temperature of 94°. It felt like 102°F. Skies were sunny and clear. I watered about 5 gallons per pot twice today. The girls were super thirsty. I added 80ml Coop Poop top dressed. Day 5 we had a high temperature of 90°F. Skies were partly cloudy. I watered about 5 gallons each pot. Day 6 the high was 94°F with mostly clear skies. I watered about 5 gallons per pot. Then I watered in the evening about 3 gallons per pot. These girls are eating now. Day 7 we had a high temperature of 89°F. Skies were mostly cloudy to overcast. We had a lot of rain today so no need to water

So gonna stick with 1ml/l for the rest of the grow now, i think the problems were just too much in the soil and since lowering nutes the problems are slowing down. Another week or two for the Zkittlez, seeing amber on the sugar leaves but not quite on the buds yet although it is mostly cloudy. Lemon AK is behing as it was germed later but still looks to be forming some nice buds and now has a fantastic smell of its own. Looking forward to these so much cant wait!!!!

Day 77-84 (April 17th-24th) (Day 78) I honestly cant believe I’ve been vegging this long. The growth for almost 80 days of veg is laughable. I’ve compiled a little list of what has gone wrong so far. - I added too much glacial moraine which made the soil too water retentive - I’ve been foliar feeding too much kelp - I gave too many bloom nutrients for a plant in veg - EDIT: DID NOT WATER ENOUGH AT ONCE The plants have been drooping like crazy this past week and I’m going to try watering in a full gallon per plant. I first thought it was from the medium not drying out enough, soil compaction ect. and I’m sure those are definitely areas where my soil mix could improve but the bottom of the container is pretty damn dry. I could actually be under watering despite soaking the top with 500ml a day. I’m going to sit the pots on some plastic sheeting so they don’t evaporate as much from the bottom and water in a full gallon each making sure I get some runoff. I was going to wait until I get my air pump but fuck it, it’s coming tomorrow afternoon. The pots are so big that they’re not fully wetting to the bottom even with a gallon. I’m going to try to water in a gallon every 4 days while keeping the top soil moist with the sprayer. In hindsight 6 plants in 5-7 gallon pots would be the most ideal. (Day 79) Holy fuck did a full gallon watering make a difference. I should have been doing this the whole time. All 4 plants are praying and stretching upward like crazy. They just look more vigorous and happy within a day. I bet they will be even happier with that supplemental air. If things stay this smooth I should be able to flip around day 84, possibly earlier. Got my air pump in the mail today. This is kind of a shot in the dark so hopefully it works. It’s super loud and vibrates like crazy. First I’m going to try running it 24/7 and see if there is any improvement over the next few days. If it does work, I’ll try running it on my humidity controller so it’s not constantly humming and will only turn on when the humidity is high. I’m going to turn the night time temps down to 70f to prevent root problems now that I’m watering much bigger amounts less frequently and it’s getting warmer during the day. (Day 81/Day 1F) Ever since I’ve been watering in the proper amounts I have seen an absolute explosion in growth. I’ve decided to flip today, now that I’m confident my soil mix isn’t completely fucked. I might run into some N/mg problems during the stretch so I will make sure to give a final foliar feeding around the end of week 1. (Day 3F) So I’m literally seeing dwc growth rates now. Plants have grown more in the last 5 days than the last 3 weeks. If I had stayed at this pace of growth since day 1, I would have an 8 foot tall plant or I would be halfway through flower already. Oh well. Good learning experience. *grits teeth* I’m going to put up the second layer of trellis before these girls stretch out of control. Bbb#3 is seriously stretchy and will likely more than double in size in the next 2 weeks. The other 4 are all quite stout and bushy. I’m giving a light, preemptive defoliation each day and picking off some of the lower sucker branches. I will do a full strip around day 21F.
