Hey everyone! Quick update on the grow. We're officially in week 3, day 2 of veg, and so far, everything’s looking pretty solid. I’ve noticed a bit of slight nutrient burn starting to show on the edges of the leaves, so I’ll need to monitor that. Nothing too serious yet, but I’ll be keeping an eye on it and adjusting if needed. Today I did a little more defoliation to help open up the canopy, and I also topped both plants to encourage some more lateral growth. After topping, I finished off the training with some LST (low stress training) to spread the canopy out and give the lower shoots a chance to catch up. I’m aiming for an even canopy spread, so this should help with that. I gave them a full watering with 3L of pH’d water at 5.8 and 400ppms going in. However, the runoff came out higher than I wanted again, Looks like next feed will be just plain pH’d water to try and bring those numbers down a bit, similar to my last run Everything’s moving in the right direction, though, so I’m feeling good. Just tucking away 🤣🤣🤣 Last weeks feeding was slightly too high for transition. I am realizing that the amount of fulvic/humid acid reduces the need for full strength ratios. This week we are going to feed 800 again, as the need for ppm’s has increased, but I am going to stay under 850 unless I see deficiency in leaves. The photosynthesis plus has been added to the mix. I know, I have recharge. However, there are certain strains in PP that recharge does not have. Specifically there is a strain for absorbing more from the lights. I have some purple stems from the light being a little to intense. We will be adding a little more cal-mag to the next feeding also. Looks like feeding will take place Tuesday/Wednesday this week. All plants are female and no Herms present for the party 😂😂 10-25 did a pre-feed of cal-mag, 8 oz. Later this evening I will do the main feeding 3 cups. The ratios are still 8-8-8 at 800 ppm’s. The extra ppm’s come in the form of extra cal-mag. Did some tucking as I am in stretch phase. So I work with a grower who is 76 years old. He has some old school techniques that make sense. He pre-waters his containers with 25% water. The remainder 75% is either nutrients OR additives that need to be added to the water. I took it a step further. I added cal-mag to the pre-water stage. Then I fed the nutrients second stage. Cal-mag is the “carrier” for nutrients throughout the plant. “Adding the nutrients after, makes it easy for the nutrients to fully saturate the soil and reach all the roots. This also prevents salt build up.” Ron’s Words. I will say my containers held double the amount of water using his method. 10-28 added some reflective material around the sides. My Growmie at RedmanFarms suggested I add it to the room. I am inside of an open air room for flowering cycle. Today was watering day. First watering was a light dose of cal/mag. Second watering was kelp, seaweed, photosynthesis plus, monk beans SST, fulvic/humic acid. One of the plants ( top left) seems to have a sulpher/magnesium deficiency ( it’s also the one with the soil I don’t like). I made some Iron/Tone tea by Espoma at 200 ppm’s and did a foliar feed. So far I see some progress on purple recessing and the growth has started to match the other 4. I have 1 more week of tucking to do and then I do a HEAVY defoliation on day 21. After than I won’t touch the plants other than feedings and water.

160 days of life harvested on day 63 of flower. I don’t have photos of her vegging but she started off great. About two weeks in, she started having some major issues. Her leaves started atrophying, curling up at the borders, growing 3 finger leaves, all new growth was deformed and twisted and growth in general almost stopped completely, to what I suspect was from broad mites. These fuckers are nasty! I dm’d my local grow shop and tried out some Neem Oil. I diluted it in water like they recommended and sprayed that baby every day for one week, then every other day the following week, then down to once a week. I sprayed her leaves stem and surface of the soil. I also cleaned the entire grow space with some bleach solution. Doing this allowed her to really bounce back, growth started to take off again! So I vegged for a few more weeks and trained her as much as I could to keep her uniform but short, she responded well to this. During flower, she was very happy. I had two main issues during this time, one was being too hot in Nitrogen and a week of very hot temperatures which burned her a slight bit, although she didn’t seem to mind much. I also could’ve continued a once a week spray of Neem oil because I think they might’ve started to come back on the lower and younger leaves that weren’t getting much light. Overall it was a dope grow and hope to do better on the next one!

I topped the pot up with compost and have been watering with rain water. I've given her rice starch water as well 👌

Hello growmies! Welcome to week six of An Epsilon Adventure! Massive thanks to both Shogun and Royal Queen Seeds for sponsoring this grow! So here we are at week six and every one of these girls are at a slightly different stage, it is quite fascinating to watch them develop one after the other. Today I made the last adjustment to the light possible. I removed the adjustable hangers and affixed a carabiner which I tightly tied to the top of the tent bar. There is about 1.5 inches of space between the top of the shade and the tallest part of the roof of the tent. Plant 1 is already taller than this, and it looks like plant 6 and maybe even plant 5 are going to join it. It's a madness. I am sure you have already looked at the photos but just in case you do what I do and read the diary first... Here is my assessment at the beginning of week 6: Plant 1: Height: 1st (137cm) - what can I say about this ridiculous plant? Day 36... 137cm tall. I have had to raise the light to as high as it is physically possibly to raise it and it's still not high enough. She is done stretching now, she may add 3-5cm over the next week or so but I don't expect more than that, so her top of her main cola going to have to develop above the level of the light. Nothing I can really do, nothing wise anyway. What a monster plant. Maturation: 4th - early into flower - bud sites developing, pistils just starting to explode. Plant 2: Height: 4th (111cm) - this plant has been there or there abouts as the tallest plant for most of the grow, but she has topped out at 111cm. She will gain some during flower but not much more than a few centimetres. Very impressive plant, loads of bud sites, really big strong secondary branches. This one is going to be colas galore. Maturation: 3rd - well into flower - all white pistils Plant 3: Height: 6th (95cm) For some brief days the tallest plant in the room, she peaked early and is now the "shortest" at "only" 95cm for this "50-70cm" strain. She is utterly dwarfed by four of her five sisters in just about every department, being quite a bit smaller even than plant 4 (although I have removed the most lower nodes from this plant). Compared with her sisters she is almost a runt... except that she is 25cm taller than the strain top-end average and matches the maximal height of the previous tallest Epsilon F1 plant I am aware of. It's not that she is small, actually she's pretty big for an Epsilon F1, it's just that the rest of the girls are on another level altogether. Plants 1, 5 and 6 are all absolute beasts. Maturation: 1st - well into flower - first shades of brown in some pistils. Plant 4: Height: 5th (98cm) although only 3cm taller than plant 3, overall she is a much larger plant. Her secondary nodes are the same height as plant 3. Maturation: 2nd - well into flower - all white pistils Plant 5: Height: 3rd (113cm) - one of the two thick/short girls who have grown at a similar pace all along - she is further ahead than plant 6 but not by much and I think she will probably exceed 120cm this week, though I do not think she will outgrow plant 1 or 6. Maturation: 5th - early into flower - bud sites developing. Plant 6: Height: 2nd (120cm) - my predictions were correct about this girl and her continued growth. I now think she might actually outgrow plant 1, which is quite worrying. Maturation: 6th - early into flower - bud sites forming - by far the least mature plant of the six. ### Week 6 Day 2 23:00 30/7 Photographed. Raised the light. Rotated the plants. Inspected, measured and reported on each plant. ### Week 6 Day 3 23:00 31/7 It has not escaped my attention that the plants that are more advanced into flower have darkened and have some burnt tips. I need to flush them and lay off the base nutes a bit. Aug 31: now done six weeks of flowering. Started force flowering by putting her in the dark garage for 10 h plus two hours of bonus darkness by using a 730 nm far red light at dusk as a bloom booster. After three weeks of moving in and out of garage I’ve just been using the red light at dusk. I use Civil Twilight as listed on dateandtime.com for my location. Civil Twilight is getting earlier by about 3 min per night and will be at 9 pm tonight. Awesome plant should be 2-3 weeks to finish and the weather forecast is perfect for next two weeks. Should be a strong finish, and we’re still in August. Awesome. Sep 1: flowers are huge and progressing quickly. The top buds seemed to change colour a bit today. Overnight temperatures are still above 10 C so no purple colour showing yet. Maybe right at the end in a couple of weeks she’ll show some extra colour. Sep 3: buds are getting big, dense and sticky. Perfect. Sep 4: flash pics are okay if using the 730 nm far red light right after. If you don’t have a red light, don’t take flash pics of your photoperiod plants. Nice big buds are quite hard too. We back with some buckets! Time to fire up the pumps and get this show on the road. Soaked this beautiful little gem of a bean in some water until it cracked then threw it into the bucket with 100% perlite. Started them on a low dose of maxigro on day 3. Doing these diy Dutch Bucket style as always. Going to be running 8 in house genetics strains on the system with constant 24 hour a day irrigation. Not much exciting going on yet, but with a little luck that may change pretty soon. A huge thanks to @wildeweed for this little truffle.
