Week 2: Light Struggles, First Adjustments & the Patience Test Update: 14.03.25 Good morning, grow fam! Week 2 of my photoperiod journey is running – a mix of challenges and small wins. Here’s a look at the early days of my Blueberry and Durban Poison seedlings. Current Observations: Light Deficiency & Stretching Stems The first days post-germination were intense: The seedlings developed extremely long, thin stems (check the photos!), a clear sign of insufficient light. Since I’m intentionally avoiding extra lighting to save resources, I had to improvise: - Tray Rotation: I rotate the seedling tray multiple times a day to ensure even exposure to the weak March sunlight. - DIY Support: For the most stretched seedlings, a bent wire acts as a crutch to prevent them from collapsing. Interestingly, the tomato and cucumber plants in the same tray show no issues – their stems stay compact. Seems like veggies are better adapted to low-light conditions than cannabis! Nutrients & Alfa Boost: An Experiment Even though my Biobizz Lightmix should provide enough nutrients for the first weeks, I tested a sample of Alfa Boost (freebie from the grow shop) during watering. The product claims to boost roots and stress resistance – perfect for my light-stressed babies. So far, no negative reactions, but no explosive growth either. Slow Growth – No Cause for Concern The plants are growing just millimeters per day, but that’s okay. My focus is on building sturdy, resilient plants, not speed. Once days get longer and sunnier, growth should pick up. They’ll stay indoors until mid-May anyway – plenty of time to bulk up. Next Steps & Tweaks - Transplanting in 1–2 Weeks: Once the first true leaf pairs emerge, they’ll move to small pots with my Biobizz All-Mix blend. - First Topping Soon: Once the plants hit 4–5 nodes, I’ll top them to encourage bushier growth. Week 2 Takeaway: Patience is key! Even in suboptimal conditions, I trust Dutch Passion’s resilient genetics. Fingers crossed for greener progress next week. 🎅 So, as for the smoke after 30 days of harvest day. Biscotti Mints have a high concentration of THC, definitely above 25%, you can feel it. Beginners should exercise caution. -The taste, I wouldn't exactly call it mint. It's similar to peppermint, but it doesn't taste like mint, it tastes like flowers. Bottom line, the taste is similar to pepper flowers. -The effect is only evening, not daytime. It will be good for an evening relaxation or in the company of friends. -The appearance is something beautiful. Everyone who saw him liked him. Dense, stone buds, green-violet color.

Beginning of week 7, 6 full weeks of flower done, they should be ready this or next week. Trichomes are still mostly milky with few to no ambers. Some clear also still there. Found some larf hiding but able to reach the light so they are also fattening. Really hard to estimate how much it is going to be. So as a growquestion and a bit of a pool amongst us and to have an idea what the more experienced growers think, I'm giving away three Zambeza White Cheese Fast regular seeds to the GD meber who comes closest to real result, which I will display here once dried. Rules: This is, if you are over 18, from a country where sending and owning seeds is legal, have a GD account with at least one active grow. Otherwise you get a prize in same value but legal. Details about the grow and setup: - 300 watt lights in 3 100 watt boards, 252 LM301b with 12 Cree. Thats one board per plant basically, giving 850 ppfd on average on canopy level. - 140 cm (4.5 ft) by 70 cm (2ft) by 200 cm (6.5 ft) growtent. - Temps have been stable, so has humidity but 10 % more than I would want in this stage of flower, at 50 to 55 %. Nugs feel dense though, compact and weight to it. - middle plant has more buds, but are more larfy and little less dense. - all buds have sprouted little mini buds on them adding weight - Underlayer of buds are all less dense and more larfy. So I wonder what you all think!! See you soon with some results. As a reminder: I plan to dry-cure for at least 10 days at 15% celcius (60F) and 62% RH. A week has passed since the last time we saw the plants and as we can see, the weather has favored us and they have grown enormously, more than 20 cm each plant, let's see if in one or two weeks the flowering season begins and we can see those first signs of flowering.

12-15 don't know were my updates went...here is week 12...I killed the bagseed...she started flowering and I have a feeling she got too stressed after being dropped and replanted twice...im not too sad about it,,,these clones are getting HUGE and I have a Crop King strain in here with them so I needed the space...the game plan is double trellis atleast for these...they were a little damaged getting something cool in place for the xmas deal on here but they have recoverd...I can defoil these girls twice a week and it doesn't slow them...so that's were we are and I'm still gaining ground...up until now these girls have been getting blasted by a single mars hydro 300...things have changed and I will get this and crown royale updated today to be current on my diaries...here is the week that's missing though...

Week 7 is ending today. I decreased my Macro nutrient by half. This week will probably be my last week using it. I took the Armor Si out of the regimen completely. I started using terpenz at 5ml per gallon. No issues still. Keeping my fingers crossed for everything to continue on cruise control. The rainbow cake and London mint cake is super frosty. They all have a pretty strong smell. I have clones and will continue to run the strain I like the best.

Less is more. Lesson learned. Without training these plants, having the fifth plant has really cramped the tent. Because I have limited space for the tent, access into the sides isn't possible. I have only the front entrance. Next time I think I will stick yo maybe three strains that have been positive and try and find the time to train more. The WOS-Northern/Skunk has grown out so nicely into a Xmas tree type of posture. She is making her really good friends with her neighbours, perhaps to their detriment. Seedsman Blueberry continues to be solid and unphased by anything. This is the first time I have smelled a plant that has such a fruity aroma. It really took me aback in surprise. Very cool. HiFi 4G needs support. Did a McGyver solution for the time being. Doesn't appear to have bulked up much this week. Jack is about the same. A bit of bulk up but not expecting this one to be a big yielder. Appears healthy overall so I'm happy. CBD+ bulked up for sure on the main cola's. I'm skeptical she will be done at 60 days at this point....but have to trust what Dinafem are telling me. Be safe folks.

Day 51 - Week 8 started and it’s looking like I really need to stay on top of watering her. If she doesn’t get water every 2 days, she seems to get severely dehydrated and droopy. Within an hour of watering she perks right up. Went ahead and gave her a feeding of nutes and tucked some leaves as best I can. Day 52 - She’s perked back up again and looking normal. Did some defoliating to get more light to the bud sites and also tucked a few leaves to avoid over stressing her from plucking leaves. From the way she’s been acting, I will be giving her a gallon of water every 3 days to keep her from drying out and drooping. Day 53 - Did a little more leaf removal and tucking today to try and keep her opened up. She’s starting to fill in a bit more and will be giving her some water today to make sure she doesn’t dry out too much like the last couple times. Day 55 - All looking good and she’s dried up a bit but gave her a gallon of water today. Didn’t do any defoliating today, just watered her and tucked some leaves. The wife will be taking care of my girls while I’m out of town for a week so hopefully they survive till I get back.

 Even with 18/6 and TWO full weeks beyond week 10, I’d have waited another 7-10 days to ripen the Trichomes to my liking (>1/3 w/ vanishing abscission). As is - I know we’ve more mass - they’re both trichome laden - the smoke test will tell. Phenos #7 “Broader Leaved” demonstrated moderate inter-nodal spacing, stacking buds put to the terminal flower(s). Flowers started as tiny ‘sunbursts’ of pistols in the common form for broad leaved plants in general. She branched significantly more than I expected - the buds along each mainline cola are on a small stem that’s 1/2” - 3” long, with a 1.5” to 2” bud attached. Hey everyone 🤗. This week they both continued to develop very well. Flowering day 42 Today the tent was cleaned, the humidifier refilled and the plants sprayed with Canna Cure :-). Flowering day 43 The plant was watered today with 1.2 L 🙂. They were also checked for their health and pests 👍. Everything looks great 🙏🏻. Flowering day 44 Again the tent was cleaned and fresh osmosis water was filled into canisters. Flowering day 45 Today 1.5 l per pot was poured so that some drainage comes out again. therefor two days are not poured 😋. Flowering day 46 The tent was cleaned, the humidifier was filled, the plant was checked for vitality and the entire electronics were checked for functionality. Flowering day 47 Today she was sprayed again with Canna Cure and checked. Flowering day 48 We got to the last day of this week and 1.2 L were poured again and the tent was cleaned 👍.
