Smoking_Joe_Frazier Welcome Back to My 2025 Grow Journal! Hello my Growmies, after growing only FastBuds automatics last year, this season is all about classic, controlled growing: I’m switching to photoperiod strains from Dutch Passion! My choices are Blueberry (Indica) and Durban Poison (Sativa) – two varieties praised not only for their flavors but also for their resilience in Germany’s climate. Let’s dive into the details! Why Dutch Passion and Photoperiod Strains? Automatics were convenient last year, but 2025 is about precision and control. With photoperiod plants, I can dictate the growth phase, train the plants strategically, and maximize their potential. Dutch Passion is known for stable genetics that thrive even in unpredictable weather – perfect for outdoor growing in Germany. The Star Strains Durban Poison – Sativa Power with African Roots - Flowering Time: 8 weeks (short for a pure Sativa). - THC Content: 10–15% – balanced for daytime use. - Height Challenge: Expected to reach 3–4 meters. To manage growth, I’ll use low-stress training (LST) and topping to keep plants compact without sacrificing yield. Goal: A robust outdoor harvest – though anything over Germany’s legal limit of 50 grams per plant will be responsibly disposed of. Blueberry – The Iconic Indica with Flavor to Match - Flowering Time: 9 weeks – ideal for developing deep purple buds and sweet berry aromas. - THC Content: 15–20% – that should be for evening sessions and relaxation - Height: They can reach up to 3 meters. I also try to control the height with some topping and LST - Why This Strain? As a fan of Blueberry hybrids, I’m eager to grow the original. Its compact size also helps it blend discreetly among my tomato plants. Bonus: Dutch Passion claims this strain handles cooler temperatures well – a plus for Central European summers. The Setup: From Windowsill to Garden - Pre-Growing: Seedlings will be started indoors under grow lights until mid-May to ensure strong early development. - Training: I plan to top the plants at least twice to encourage bushy growth, combined with LST to maintain manageable heights. - Fertilization: I’m using homemade compost from garden waste—sustainable, nutrient-rich, and beneficial for both cannabis and tomatoes. - Compost Preparation: I set up my compost in early March and boosted its activity by adding horn shavings, rock dust (Urgesteinsmehl), a potassium–magnesium supplement (Kalimagnesium), lime nitrogen fertilizer (Kalkstickstoff), and lawn lime (Rasenkalk), along with effective microorganisms. These amendments help accelerate the composting process and enrich the soil with essential nutrients. - Location: The plants will be placed in an area enriched by my compost. I’m mixing the native soil with Biobizz All-Mix in a 50/50 ratio, and I’m adding some Biobizz Tabs and mycorrhizae to further boost soil life. I’m committed to a 100% biological approach, keeping fertilizer additions minimal to let nature take its course. Join the Conversation and be a part of my growjourney Have you experimented with Dutch Passion strains or discovered effective strategies for outdoor cannabis cultivation in Germany? I’d love to hear your insights. What fertilization techniques have proven most successful for you, and how do you manage the height of your Sativas outdoors? As always, all suggestions and tips are welcome, and I’m excited to share this growing experience with the community. Stay tuned for more updates. Smoking_Joe_Frazier The seeds popped on 07.03.25.

Smoking_Joe_Frazier Week 2: Light Struggles, First Adjustments & the Patience Test Update: 14.03.25 Good morning, grow fam! Week 2 of my photoperiod journey is running – a mix of challenges and small wins. Here’s a look at the early days of my Blueberry and Durban Poison seedlings. Current Observations: Light Deficiency & Stretching Stems The first days post-germination were intense: The seedlings developed extremely long, thin stems (check the photos!), a clear sign of insufficient light. Since I’m intentionally avoiding extra lighting to save resources, I had to improvise: - Tray Rotation: I rotate the seedling tray multiple times a day to ensure even exposure to the weak March sunlight. - DIY Support: For the most stretched seedlings, a bent wire acts as a crutch to prevent them from collapsing. Interestingly, the tomato and cucumber plants in the same tray show no issues – their stems stay compact. Seems like veggies are better adapted to low-light conditions than cannabis! Nutrients & Alfa Boost: An Experiment Even though my Biobizz Lightmix should provide enough nutrients for the first weeks, I tested a sample of Alfa Boost (freebie from the grow shop) during watering. The product claims to boost roots and stress resistance – perfect for my light-stressed babies. So far, no negative reactions, but no explosive growth either. Slow Growth – No Cause for Concern The plants are growing just millimeters per day, but that’s okay. My focus is on building sturdy, resilient plants, not speed. Once days get longer and sunnier, growth should pick up. They’ll stay indoors until mid-May anyway – plenty of time to bulk up. Next Steps & Tweaks - Transplanting in 1–2 Weeks: Once the first true leaf pairs emerge, they’ll move to small pots with my Biobizz All-Mix blend. - First Topping Soon: Once the plants hit 4–5 nodes, I’ll top them to encourage bushier growth. Week 2 Takeaway: Patience is key! Even in suboptimal conditions, I trust Dutch Passion’s resilient genetics. Fingers crossed for greener progress next week. My goal is to stabilize the grow under the given conditions. Until then: Stay curious, enjoy the journey – stay blazing 😉 Smoking_Joe_Frazier

Smoking_Joe_Frazier Vegetation Week 2: Transplant Triumphs, Sunshine Therapy & the Marathon Mentality Update: 25.03.2025 Hey Growmies! Week 2 of vegging these photoperiod ladies (Blueberry and Durban Poison) brought some much-needed stability and a breath of fresh air—literally! Let’s dive into the progress. Current Observations: Transplant Success & Root Revelations The slow-but-steady growth finally demanded a bigger home! I transplanted both seedlings from the tray into individual pots this week. The roots? Absolutely nice - thick, creamy-white, and already circling the seedling plug. A good sign that the like Light Mix from the start. Here’s the setup: - Pot Upgrade: Moved to 0,27 L plastic pots with fresh Biobizz Light Mix. - Mycos: Dusted the root ball with mycorrhizae during transplant to boost nutrient uptake and reduce stress. So far, zero transplant shock—just grateful, healthy looking plants. Outdoor Transition: Sun, Wind & Resilience Training March decided to play nice! With temps hitting 16°C and sunshine finally peeking through, I gave the girls their first taste of the outdoors. They’re now chilling on my south-facing windowsill, soaking up direct sunlight and gentle breezes. Benefits so far: - Stem Strength: The light wind is already thickening those once-wobbly stems. - Light Boost: Natural sunlight beats my weak indoor setup—no more tray rotations! Still bringing them in at night (temps drop to ~10°C), but they’re adapting like champs. Growth Pace: Slow & Steady Wins the Race No explosive growth yet, but consistency is key. New true leaves are forming, and the stems are visibly sturdier. I’m sticking to my “marathon mindset”: no rushing, no overwatering, just letting the plants set their own rhythm. Next Steps & Tweaks - Watering Discipline: Letting the pots dry out thoroughly between waterings to avoid over-loving them. - Outdoor Hardening: Gradually increasing their time outside as temps rise (goal: full outdoor living by mid-May!). Week 2 Takeaway: Trust the process—and the sun! Stable roots + gradual environmental changes = happy plants. Let’s keep this zen energy rolling into Week 3! Until next time: Stay grounded, stay growing… and stay blazing!

Smoking_Joe_Frazier Vegetation Week 3: Steady Gains, Environmental Harmony & the Art of Boring Update: 30.03.2025 What’s up, my Growmies? Week 3 with the Blueberry and Durban Poison was blissfully… ordinary. No drama, no breakthroughs—just the quiet hum of plants doing their thing. Here’s the low-key recap! Current Observations: Subtle Wins Leaf Development: The first true fan leaves are finally unfurling—wider, darker green, and more serrated. My Blueberry lady is slightly ahead of my Durban Poison babe! Stem Thickness: Those once-spindly stems now feel sturdy and stable, thanks to their exposure to light winds. Environment Report: Stability Wins The weather’s been a steady 10–16°C with occasional clouds. Plants are now outdoors soaking up direct light as long as possible (still bringing them in at night—better safe than sorry with these chilly temps!). The "Boring" Philosophy No news is good news! This week’s mantra: Don’t fix what isn’t broken. Watering Rhythm: Sticking to plain pH’d water (~6.3) only when the pots feel light. No overthinking, no overwatering. No Nutes Yet: Biobizz Light Mix is still feeding them plenty. No rush to disrupt the balance. Future Prep: Laying Groundwork Topping Plans: I’m planning to top them next week for the first time! I’ll decide spontaneously if the girls look stable enough, but I’m leaning toward waiting until Node 5 to minimize stress. Slow and steady wins the race—no stunting allowed! Week 3 Takeaway: Slow, stable growth means the plants are content. Sometimes, boring is beautiful. Until next time: Stay grounded, stay growing… and stay blazing! – Smoking_Joe_Frazier

Smoking_Joe_Frazier Vegetation Week 4: Sun Therapy, Side Branches & the Durban Overdrive Update: 07.04.2025 Hey Growmies! Week 3 blessed us with sunshine and dry skies – but nights are still frosty flirtations. Week 4 is the same and my girls are living their best sun-soaked lives… with a strict “indoor curfew” after dark! Current Highlights: Daytime Glory, Nighttime Caution - Weather Wins: 10–15°C days (sunny & dry!) but temps dip close to freezing at night. The ladies soak up 8–10 hours of direct sun daily, then retreat to my cozy indoor setup. - Side Branch Debut: First lateral branches are popping! - Height Race: Durban’s stretching ahead – classic sativa energy! Blueberry’s trailing but building density. Nutritions: - Biobizz Light Mix + mycorrhizae = root heaven. Still no nutes needed! - Nighttime strategy: Avoiding cold stress = steady growth. No purple stems, no droops! Next Moves: - Topping Countdown: Durban gets topped at Node 5 (waiting for that final push!). Blueberry follows when she’s ready. - Pot Upgrade Watch: Roots are peeking out the fabric pots… 5L homes incoming next week? - Hardening Off 2.0: Gradually extend outdoor time as nights warm up (mid-April goals!). Week 4 Takeaway: Sunlight by day, inside by night = unstressed vegging. . Catch ya next week: Stay grounded, stay growing… and stay blazing! – Smoking_Joe_Frazier

Smoking_Joe_Frazier Vegetation Week 5: Topping, Pistil Puzzles & the All-Mix Countdown Update: 14.04.2025 Hey Growmies! Week 5 brought some plot twists and big moves! Let’s unpack the story. Current Highlights: Topping & Tiny Pistils Topping Done Right: Both ladies got their first topping this week! Cut the main stem carefully with disinfected scissors above Node 5. Let’s see how they recover from that, but I guess they’re big enough to take that blow like champs. Durban’s Pistil Surprise: Spotted early pistils (white hairs) on the Durban – wait, already?! Stay calm: Durban Poison is photoperiod, so this isn’t full flowering. Likely causes: Light stress? Double-check nighttime darkness during “indoor curfew” – even small light leaks can confuse photoperiods. Longer days in late April/May will keep her in veg. No need to panic! What do you guys think? Have you experienced pre-flower this early under sunlight? Nutrient Needs Rising: Lower leaves on the Blueberry show faint lighter green hues – Biobizz Light Mix is running low on juice. Next move: Transplant into Biobizz All-Mix (richer in nutrients) after topping recovery. ______________________ Chapter Update: Garden Bed Prep – Building Their Forever Home This week’s big project: Prepping the outdoor spots where these ladies will live their best lives! Here’s the dirt: - Holes Dug: Two 50x50x50cm pits (perfect for root freedom!). - Soil Mix: - 20L Biobizz Worm Humus – worm-powered nutrient gold. - 20L Biobizz All-Mix – for structure and organic goodness. - Homemade Compost – loaded with worms, horn shavings (slow-release nitrogen), and lime (pH balance). - Why It’s Lit: This mix is a 100% organic buffet – worms till the soil, microbes feed the roots, and the girls get everything they need to explode in summer! ______________________ Chapter Update 2: Pot Upgrades & Root Magic Update: 15.04.2025 (Day 39) Today’s mission: New shoes for the ladies! The Trigger: Noticed the first true leaves hinting at hunger (fading green, subtle yellow whispers) – Biobizz Light Mix had given its all. Time for a nutrient boost! The Process: - Pot Upgrade: Swapped their 0.27L cups for 1.5L plastic pots (hello, legroom!). - Soil Mix: - 2:1 All-Mix to Worm Castings – All-Mix for structure, worm goodies for microbes. - Root Reveal: Popped the old pots off – root porn alert! Creamy-white tendrils everywhere, with fuzzy mycorrhizal hyphae hugging them like a snug sweater. - Myco Re-Up: Dusted the root ball’s “four corners” with fresh myco powder (symbiosis 2.0!). - Tomato Trick: - Removed the lowest node’s leaves and tiny side branches. - Planted them deeper to bury part of the stem – this’ll spark new roots along the buried stem (works like a charm for tomatoes, so why not cannabis?). ______________________ Catch ya next week: Stay grounded, stay growing… and stay blazing! – Smoking_Joe_Frazier

Smoking_Joe_Frazier Vegetation Week 6: Rainy Resilience, Recovery & Nutrient Safeguards Update: 22.04. Day 46 Hey Growmies! Week 6 tested patience with April’s mood swings – rain, sun, and chilly nights – but the girls are bouncing back like troopers. Let’s break it down. --- Current Highlights: Post-Stress Revival - Post-Topping/Repotting Pause: After 2 days of “stasis,” lower branches exploded this week! Durban Poison’s side shoots are racing upward, while Blueberry focuses on steady node development. - Durban’s Lead: Still ahead in height (classic sativa stretch!), but Blueberry’s holding her own – compact and focused. - All-Mix Awakening: The soil finally “clicked” after the rain eased – deeper green hues, no more deficiency whispers. --- Environment Report: April’s Mood Swings - Weather Forecast: Light sun mixed with rain showers, day temps up to 16°C, nights dipping to 6°C. - Indoor Nights: Girls still retreat indoors after dark – nights are too chilly for young photoperiods in pots! - Soil Defense: Covered prepared garden holes (not pots!) with waterproof foil to protect All-Mix nutrients from rain washout. - Moisture Check: Pots still moist from rain – zero watering needed. Letting the girls sip slowly. --- Next Moves 1. Sun Grab: Capitalize on sunny spells – every hour counts! 2. Transplant Prep: Wait for consistent 10°C+ nights before moving them to their foil-protected garden beds. 3. Recovery Watch: Let the All-Mix work its magic – no feeds, just soil power! --- Week 6 Takeaway April’s tantrums can’t shake these ladies! The combo of All-Mix resilience and cautious hardening-off keeps them cruising. Slow growth? Nah – smart, steady growth. Catch ya next week: Stay grounded, stay growing… and stay blazing! Smoking_Joe_Frazier Week 8: Sunshine Boost! Day 60 | 02.05.2025 Quick Update Hey Growmies! After weeks of gray, the sun finally showed up—and the plants are loving it! --- Highlights: Growth Burst: Durban Poison and Blueberry doubled the site of her side branches. The topping gave them both to really bushy structure. Durban: Tall, stretchy, classic sativa vibes. Shows still preflower signs on the new growth. Blueberry: Compact, dark green, strong indica traits. --- Environment: Sunny days around 27°C, chilly 8°C nights. Still bringing them in at night (cold soil = unhappy roots). Letting the soil dry well before watering—patience works! --- Next Steps: 1. Moving to garden beds soon (nights warming up). Should be around 15 May to finally put them in the prepared spot. 2. Though days have 14,5 hours of sunlight, the preflowering continues. 3. Stems are getting bigger. Letting the wind toughen them up—no more coddling! --- Takeaway: Sunlight = pure rocket fuel. They're finally taking off! Until next time: Stay grounded, stay growing… and stay blazing! Smoking_Joe_Frazier
