Bienvenidos a la semana #3 El crecimiento ha sido espectacular  Esta planta me está devolviendo el gusto de cultivar fotodependientes como cuando era joven, da gusto ver como crecen de forma exponencial día tras día Ha pasado un par de días de la semana en interior debido a la inestabilidad meteorológica.  Se ha mantenido en la maceta de 3 litros hasta el día #21 Día #22 (09/06). Hacemos el transplante a maceta de 15 litros La composición del substrato es: Base tipo Light mix + perlita (hasta 25 por ciento) + hummus de lombriz + micorrizas + guano de murcielago La idea era pasarla a una maceta de 7 litros y después de 20 días aprox a la maceta de 15 litros, pero estaba el cepellon lleno de raíces, y he decidido pasarla directamente a la maceta final, porque me parecía que había poco más espacio al pasar de 3 litros a 7 litros A ver cómo reacciona!    Este día #22 también ha vuelto al exterior hasta nuevo aviso meteorológico  Se planea hacer topping cuando alcance el quinto - sexto nudo para que no se vuelva de un tamaño incontrolable (que por otro lado estaría bien   ) Gracias por leerme y seguir mi diario!

I’ve spent the last six days recalibrating my grow room. It feels more like a lab now because I am doing a lot of experiments with different variables and this week I have learned an awful lot. After pushing the environment to its absolute breaking point, I had to balance what my eyes were seeing against raw data to identify exactly where the Traffic Jam was occurring. I got so excited at the ability to control proteins in a plant with light spectrum I did the usual thing I do I drove them to their limits. Maximum photons (and beyond) in an environment where the plant just works like a suction funnel with a VPD of 1.6 kPa. What I forgot is that in my organic setup, the bottleneck is the speed the microbial life can create immobile nutrients. Under any normal conditions, the Biotabs 'just add water' method is more than capable of keeping up, but I had to be that guy and push them with 950 µmol of whites. By the time my Emerson burst came on, I was hitting them with around 1150 µmol, not counting the drain from the UV-B! This, on ambient, is just too much to ask; the plants used up all the calcium available, and my microbial life was unable to keep up. This is good to know, as if I wish to grow at this rate later, I will know what I need to add to facilitate that. I'm still blown away by spectral steering and the way proteins in a plant cell work. Grows are not normally still this fun at this stage. ________________________________________ 1. The "950 µmol" Mistake & Conclusion • The Error: I was running the main rig at 950 µmol, but with 4 strips of DRFR engaged, I was hitting a total ePAR of 1150 µmol. • The Failure: This intensity, paired with an aggressive 1.6 kPa VPD, outran the plant's metabolic capacity under ambient conditions. • The Result: 'Pistil Frizzle' on the crown of the Triple Cheese—the delicate stigmas literally toasted under the radiant load. 2. The Calcium Benchmark & The "Traffic Jam" • The Action: I noticed rusty, necrotic spots scattered across the leaf surfaces. • The Conclusion: The plants weren't 'low' on Calcium; the Biotabs microbial factory couldn't mine it fast enough to keep up with the 1150 µmol demand. I have officially flagged an image as my 'Calcium Benchmark' to track this in future runs. 3. The attempt to fix • The Adjustment: I have lowered the light ceiling to 800 µmol (targeting a DLI of 31–36) and stabilized VPD between 1.2 and 1.3 kPa. • The Rationale: This matches the 'spending' of the plant to the 'income' of my organic microbes, allowing the nutrient highway to move smoothly without crashing at the leaf tips. 4. Emergency Recovery: Bactrex & Bio PK • The Action: To clear the jam, I introduced a targeted top-feed of Bactrex and Bio PK to the Cheese. • The Goal: Boosting the microbial workforce and providing a direct PK source to support the Week 5 bulk while the Calcium delivery recovers. 5. Rhizosphere & Water Management • New decontamination for my 10L res refills: 10 drops of ExoThrive Neutralise, 5 minutes of violent blending, and an 8-hour air stone session • The Goal: To strip all residual chlorine and chloramines from my London tap water to protect my Bactrex and Mycotrex factory workers. • Future Intent: Researching the Water2 Pod 2.0 with a Fluoride filter to automate this and ensure consistent, medical-grade hydration. 6. Pot Size & Substrate Logic • The Constraint: Bigger pots are not happening • The Solution: To compensate for the smaller volume, I will increase Bactrex frequency and explore high concentrations of Gypsum (20g per 10L) in future mixes to increase mineral density without changing the footprint. Summary: I pushed for maximum push and hit a wall. By respecting the biological limits of a just add water system, I’m moving toward Environmental Harmony where every photon is used rather than wasted as a stressor. Been a great week for learning. Hello everyone 🌱 I’m writing this while walking by the sea, reflecting on the next run. I’m currently smoking some White Russian from my last grow, and I have to say… it really surprised me. I’ve always had a simple philosophy: life is short, so I try to grow as many different strains as possible instead of repeating the same ones. But this time, Serious Seeds really got me. White Russian, Bubblegum, AK-47… these are not just strains, they have a very strong identity. In particular, I found a White Russian phenotype that I would definitely keep and grow again. I regret not cloning it. That experience made me appreciate even more the work behind these genetics. Each strain expresses something unique, both in structure and effects, and that’s something I’m starting to understand more deeply. ⸻ About this run I honestly didn’t expect this opportunity. I reached out to Serious Seeds without big expectations, and they gave me the chance to test one of their new strains: 👉 Fruity Durban (Serious Mimosa × Durban) This is currently a test strain, so I’ll be growing it almost completely blind. I deliberately avoided researching too much about it. I want to observe it for what it is, without external influence. ⸻ Constraints & approach Due to where I live, I can only run one plant, which means I won’t be able to explore different phenotypes or evaluate stability. So this will be a more focused test, centered on a single expression. At the same time, this run will be more challenging than usual: • I’ll likely be harvesting in mid-summer • high temperatures could impact terpene preservation and plant stress ⸻ Living soil system I grow in a living soil system (113L pot), which I like to think of as a bioreactor. Before starting, I reactivated the soil by: • adding fresh worm castings • light top dress amendments • reintroducing clover as cover crop The goal is to rebuild microbial activity before transplanting. ⸻ Philosophy for this run Unlike my previous grow, where yield was very high, this time I want to focus on: 👉 terpene expression and overall quality For this reason, I’m considering a very light-touch approach: • minimal training • possibly a single topping (to avoid excessive main cola density) • otherwise letting the plant express itself naturally I don’t want to interfere too much. I want to observe. ⸻ Germination I started by placing the seed directly in a glass of water. I decided not to use H₂O₂ this time, in my experience it can help, but it’s not essential. Now we wait. ⸻ I’m really curious to see how this strain will behave in this environment, especially in these conditions. This will be a journey focused on observation, learning, and quality over quantity. Let’s see what comes out of it 🌱

Day 120 On day 120, the plant appears to be in a very advanced stage of flowering, with large, dense clusters of buds forming across the entire canopy. The flowers are heavily coated with a thick layer of crystal-like trichomes, giving them a frosty and mature appearance. The leaves near the top remain mostly green, though some show subtle fading, while the lower leaves display more pronounced yellowing, creating a clear contrast between the upper and lower sections of the plant. The overall structure is wide and full, with many branches carrying well-developed buds. The environment’s reflective surfaces emphasize the size and texture of the flowers. The plant looks robust and visually mature, showing the typical signs of nearing the very end of its life cycle.

Soaked 7.27 for 36ishhrs, into paper towel for 12 hrs then into a solo cup with greentree garden supply pro ultra (coco/perlite). First feed was a diluted leftover feed from my other auto youngins. Basically about 1 ml/g of grow, 7ml/g humid acid, 1ml/g more roots, 1ml/g orca, cannazyme, hydroguard and a sprinkle of living organics in the nutes and on the top of the coco. Usually the ppm will be higher than I want it so I just dilute with r/o water until I'm down to 200-250. It makes it so I cant be accurate on ratios so that's why I'm tellin ya, but it's how I always do it no matter what nutes I use. I started this, a pineapple express and mexican airlines cuz I had 2 slow growers from the first crop I germinated so I just ripped em out and started these in the same cups.

Just like the other autoflowers in the room, she continues to behave in a way that closely mirrors the photoperiod plants — steady, structured, and rhythmically aligned with the rest of the genetics in the tent. Despite the diversity of cultivars running side by side, all plants are maintaining very similar height, pace, and development, each expressing itself slightly differently but moving forward together. This consistency speaks volumes about both the genetics and the stability of the environment. Growth & Structure • Vegetative stage: Ongoing • Flowering signs: None observed • Node count: 6 nodes • Growth habit: Compact, controlled, well-balanced • Leaf expression: • Lush, deep green • Broad, healthy leaflets • Excellent turgor and texture Growth this week can only be described as spectacular. Internodal spacing remains tight, structure is clean, and the plant shows no signs of stress, deficiency, or imbalance. Autoflower vs Photoperiod Behavior Even though GMO Cookies is an autoflower and has been run 12/12 from seed, she continues to challenge expectations. At this point, it’s still difficult to clearly distinguish behavioral differences between autos and photoperiods in this room. Everything is moving: • At the same rhythm • At the same pace • Under the same conditions This reinforces an important observation: environmental consistency often outweighs genetic labels, especially early on. ⸻ 📸 Photo Session & Documentation This week, GMO Cookies was briefly removed for a dedicated photo session using an improvised studio setup. Photography setup highlights: • Sony A6700 camera • iPad used as a remote control and live viewer • Controlled backlighting for leaf detail and depth • Full camera control (aperture, ISO, settings) without touching the camera This approach eliminates camera shake and allows for precise adjustments on the fly — crucial for capturing clean, sharp images, especially when documenting fine leaf texture and color.
