UV exposure can trigger the synthesis of more xanthophyll cycle pigments to increase the plant's capacity to dissipate excess energy, but it can also cause direct damage, particularly to Photosystem II, and may lead to a decrease in the de-epoxidation state (DEPS ratio) which indicates a reduced capacity to dissipate excess energy. Plants can respond to UV stress by increasing the synthesis of xanthophyll cycle pigments, such as violaxanthin and zeaxanthin, to improve their photoprotective capacity. UV-induced changes in xanthophyll cycle pigments can be linked to a plant's overall tolerance to high radiation stress. The xanthophyll cycle helps protect against photoinhibition, which is especially important when the plant is exposed to high levels of both UV and visible light. High doses of UV radiation can directly damage photosynthetic components, including the proteins, lipids, and pigments in the thylakoid membranes. Exposure to UV radiation can have a mixed effect on the de-epoxidation state (DEPS ratio) of the xanthophyll cycle pigments. In some cases, UV can inhibit the conversion of violaxanthin to zeaxanthin, resulting in a lower DEPS ratio and a reduced capacity for energy dissipation. However, the total pool of xanthophyll cycle pigments may increase, and this enhanced pool size could provide a greater potential for photoprotection despite a lower DEPS ratio. The xanthophyll cycle works alongside other mechanisms, such as the accumulation of flavonoids (UV screens), to protect the plant from UV-induced damage. Blue light repairs 100% UV-induced damage in plants through a process called photoreactivation, which uses a light-dependent enzyme called photolyase. This enzyme uses energy from blue and UV-A light to directly reverse the damaging pyrimidine dimers in the DNA caused by UV-B radiation, a key mechanism for maintaining the plant's genetic integrity. After carbon, light, water, temperature, and nutrients, the limiting factor of a plant's growth is often its own internal factors or the amount of a key ingredient. Chlorophyll concentration is one such factor, as the amount of this pigment limits how much light can be captured for photosynthesis. The plant will produce more enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants to neutralize the reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced by the UV-B radiation. The plant activates enzymes, including photolyases, to repair DNA damage caused by the UV-B. These repair mechanisms are critical for preventing permanent genetic mutations. While protective measures are activated, a high dose delivered over a short period can cause stress that overwhelms the plant's defenses. Photosynthesis is highly sensitive to UV-B. A high dose can inactivate Photosystem II (PSII), damage thylakoid membranes within the chloroplasts, and reduce chlorophyll content, which lowers the plant's overall photosynthetic capacity. Despite repair mechanisms, high UV-B doses can inflict persistent damage on the plant's DNA. The overproduction of reactive oxygen species can cause oxidative stress, leading to the oxidation of lipids and proteins and disrupting cellular function.

Up up and ... one more week here We go ❤️🤘 so they are grooving hehehehe i'm focus on producing good amount of trichomes and tryin to bring some colors to them. i reduse nutrients and stabilized my condictions . i like this AC thing lol I brouth down my temps to77 day time and 65 nigth time, humidety is the one i'm having problens bringing it down but is not too bad any way is going up and down and arround 55% so is ok Peace out and stay happy and safe D

Been trimming for past week. Lemon Cherry - 20g Chemdawg 73g Tropicana cookies - 83g Banana purple punch- 78g Total - 253grams Not bad. Buds were a bit on the smaller side. Room for improvement, however not a bad harvest for a 2.7x2.7 tent and relatively cheap set up. It was fun to grow and good learning experience. I hope to grow some more and see you guys in future diaries. Thanks!

Been a busy week, everything is looking good I still have 1 that is behind and still recovering. Potted into 6.5L pots. Vpd is in range but does fluctuate. Gonna back the EC off a little as i find it to be high in nitrogen in places I don’t like doing plain watering so I shall lower the ec and do a little extra run off Midweek so some good recovery from transplanting everything looking good still environment perfect backed off the nutrients added a water butt and and air pumps to the room. Later week update, all these ladies are thriving in there environment really healthy plants, I need to get rid of the shite from the early growth when they were fresh cuttings now. The branching has exploded now these girls take about a week from topping to get back to full growth rate under these led lights other than that all good. 🌱

The plant is beautiful but she will give a poor harvest, smell is citrus and pungent like the GG4 usually is with gassy notes 🔥 I look forward to smoke it and hope one day to have the Exotic Genetics seeds to grow 💚

Hi everyone. Time for another update. Day 6 since I flipped lights. All ladies looking healthy, no stretching at all so far, might take the net down after week or two since I’m keeping them low. I also have few more clones of royal gorilla, danceworld and random autogorilla seed sitting in my veg tent. I’m very happy with CMH system too.

6th week already and this lovely girl is filling up nicely with lots of resin and dense buds, compact and thick pistils and strong thick stems compared to my previous non mainlining grows, hopefully will yield even more this time even though Im using a 250watter this time instead of the 400w used before...

Finally has started to flip 🌸 just seeing some buds forming and is really starting to drink alot in this heat. I've heard alot about this one and I see why 😋 the smell rn just from the leaves + stem rub are already very unique. Hope she and I do well the rest of the way. Happy growing 🌴

I'm finally ending this strain and for a minute I had posted the last 2 weeks as a different name... I'm an idiot. From now on, its all going to be different strains so I won't need to keep too much track on what I'm growing. I have several plants right now and will be doing more videos on my youtube channel. Wow, looking great, buds have taken shape and can start with filling up a bit. This Mars Hydro light is amazing, the buds are quite big for week 4. Cant wait to see next weeks development. The boosters name is Pro Bloom, most have new names in europe, same company, different names
