Flowering looks awesome on the ChemDog! Lots of bud sites and they're growing at a respectable rate. ATF's are running 3 plants in 3 diff stages- one's a couple weeks into flower, one's just starting,and one's still the holdout. Meanwhile, I've got flowering on the Night Nurse and one of the Viper Cookies. The rest are close but I can't say for sure they've transitioned. Weather's getting into a hot and humid phase, gotta watch that ChemDog. Think it's got a decent structure for ventilation but I've read horror stories on how the Dog loves mold. Further training of the branches has been fruitful, I'm seeing a lot more topside bud sites than usual. I'm working on irrigation-- I set up a 30 gal container and it works for drip, but without a pipe system it's still one at a time, although I have to admit it's worth it to save my back. Plus, I have to have a supply ready for use in case my buddy needs to fill in for me and water the ladies. Been checking the cameras regularly ( I have them all throughout the property, game cameras with IR flash), and to date haven't seen anything that would constitute a threat. Just some curious raccoons and one really ugly opossum. Even the skunks don't bother them this year, which is nice but a little strange considering they dig in them every year. It's really just the animals I'm watching for, people aren't as much of a concern. Mostly because I don't know any. Aside from that, I sleep with my head feet away from my babies, so somebody would have to have big brass ones to even try. Yes, I know, a little overprotective. Fingers crossed it'll be one hell of a harvest (by my standards). 8/11 Update: Been lucky still with the weather, but it's turning really humid. Fed the girls this morning, a mix of 1C molasses and 1/2C epsom salt in 20 gallons. Just a little supplement to the tiger bloom they've been feasting on. Speaking of the Tiger Bloom, I can't help but think I'd do just as well mixing my own nutrient solution, since the cost really adds up quick. For his year, however, it'll be fine. My watering gizmo is working well, just leaks a tiny bit and that's fine for the remainder of the year. Now that I have an idea of what works for me I can spend the off-season setting up something right. Had to thin out the Lamb's a bit, it wasn't getting anywhere near enough air flow. Also took a few on the ChemDog as I'm expecting mold/rot conditions for a while and she's prone. Shouldn't have much problem, wind blows almost constantly here, but you can never be too careful. Training is taking well, overall they look pretty good. Next year-- bigger grow bags, better soil, and much pickier seed choices. I think I may even abandon the idea of topping them in the future-- it just slows them down and you can get the same end results with training. Granted, my ladies are kinda sparse and ugly, but that's the learning curve. Next time around I think I have a pretty good idea of what to do and when to do it, based on what worked and didn't work this year. Another big thing is nutrient timing-- I def jumped the gun on flower power for a few of them and it just stunted them wicked-- shoulda continued veg food a couple weeks into flower even for the early bloomer, she'd be a monster.

15/10 - Bit of defoliation to open her up and remove some stacked leaves. Didnt take a whole lot but its made a decent difference. I think that'll be the last cut before harvest bar a few which have been hit by the cal lock. Next grow I need to figure out how to access the back of the tent, because at the moment its impossible without fucking my back up and craning my neck. Got would I could back there but could def be better. Topped up with plain water as shes drank 10l over the last 2 days. Not seeing any more rust spots forming so hopefully the cal lockout is fixed. Shes starting to smell quite strong with notes of citrus and shes sticky as hell. 17/10 - EC plummeting again, 10l drank over 2 days. Topped up with water and 3ml CalMag, 5ml Grow, 10ml Bloom added. 18/10 - PH has remained stable overnight after the top up. I ended up doing quite a bit of defoliation today, again opening her up and removing problematic or shaded leaves. Always amazes me how much plant matter can be removed and yet she still ends up looking super dense. 20/10 - Full res change. 5ml CalMag 10ml Micro 5Ml Grow 45Ml Bloom. 1.15EC 6.1PH. 21/10 - PH dropping much more slowly now, so in a good spot. Continuing to take the odd leaf here and there to help light penetrate and get them off bud sites.

Day 130 – Harvest Day | Sweet Seeds – Gorilla Girl Today marks the official harvest of our Gorilla Girl by Sweet Seeds – exactly 130 days from seed. Final Techniques: Last 2 weeks: Only clean, purified water (flush stage) Last 3 days: Complete darkness Twice during the dark period: Placed 2 kg of ice directly on the soil The effect was noticeable — right after the ice melted, the smell intensified dramatically, and the trichomes looked even more frosty and swollen. Throughout the entire grow, she was fed with the Xpert Nutrients line, and the results speak for themselves — healthy growth, strong structure, and top-quality flowers. That’s it. Ganja Farmer’s GG4 performed really well, except for one plant that apparently had a genetic defect. All the buds turned out very dense, large, and highly resinous!

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. Heloooh So this sour tangie is starting to grow realy nicely, it seems that it recoverd good from their transplantation. it's got small branches popping up everywhere . witch will be nice when i start putting them under my hid that's arriving soon. I gave it some alga grow and not seeing burning on the leave's so will probably continue this. Happy with my grow so far let's hope these plants grow big in flowering, they got a nice base so far. This week I performed a good defoliation to clean up the canopy and improve light penetration and airflow. I also added a second scrog net to help support and organize the branches as the plant continues developing in flower. On the positive side, I haven’t seen any more signs of the thrips since the treatment, so hopefully the issue is under control now 🌱💪

I am excited to try out this new gorilla cookies from fastbuds. I originally started this setup to compete in the solo cup challenge, but I needed something that will be minimal maintainence and doesn't require hand watering. So this is what I ended up with. I will not be entering since I know it will bring controversy, but I am going to follow the rules and treat this grow as if I am competing. I didn't want to use regular solo cups because last time I had a lot of algae growing in the root zone when I harvested. I opted to use a black light proof cup. These cups were 27 oz originally so I filled them with 16 oz of water, marked the level, then cut them down to 16 oz. I set the drain pipes about an inch from the bottom so they have a little reserve if I have pump or power issues. I know people will see the drains as a way for roots to grow out of the cup but in reality I have to keep the entire pipe free of roots or it will clog and overflow. So I am actually losing a little volume due to this. I filled the bottom inch or so of the cups with river gravel to stop the perlite from washing into the reservoir. I am running a 5 gallon reservoir with a small air pump and the plants will be getting irritated 24 hours a day from an aquarium power head pump. I set the system up to be totally self contained and easily portable. It was all built from things I had laying around other than 97¢ for the cups. I will be keeping the feed simple as always feeding maxigro and maxibloom with a couple flower boosters.

Creo que un poquito más de lo normal la distancia internodal parece un poco larga no sé a qué se debe... y están alimentándose de lujo

THURSDAY 12/20: Charlene is still popping pistils, but I went ahead and flushed her again today with 2 gallons of ph'd water, some bembe, and some terpinator. Her trichromes are only about 50-60% cloudy still..might've started flushing a little too soon... Charlotte looks pathetic...so sad about her demise. She'll end up in the trim bag for making e-liquid I guess.. One of my 2 x C4 seedlings is already purple in the middle??...really??? FRIDAY: The new evaporative cooler is working pretty well in the tent. High temp was 84f with it running on medium and with ice in the reservoir. That's a win. I suspect that when I need to run the other two 85w bar lights it will be pushing 90f again unless I run it on high. RH is is staying between 38% and 45%, which is another win! SATURDAY: I flushed Charlene again today with 2 gallons of ph'd water + bembe. Next time will just be plain water..Charlotte is super fugly but I'm trying to kickstart her again..she's just making leaves it seems. SUNDAY: Photo session today..Charlene posed well for me, but it was hard to take photos of poor Charlotte... Charlene's got a few ambers now...last flush will be on Tuesday.👌
