Our solo survivor has apparently decided that being quiet and elegant was not enough anymore. 😂 She's getting louder. And louder. And louder. 🍬🔥🌸 The stacking is becoming impossible to ignore. The flowers are becoming more substantial. She's continuing to build all over the plant. And every time I look at her, I find another little detail that wasn't quite as obvious the week before. She's beautiful. She's becoming more impressive. And she's definitely making herself heard now. 😂🍬 This is Candy Rain Auto. Our survivor. Our glamorous survivor. Our solo girl. And at this point... she's basically saying: "Okay, enough talking. Look at what I'm building." 😂🌸🔥 So... let's look. ──────────────────────── 🍬 WEEK 12 – SHE'S GETTING LOUD ──────────────────────── There are plants that quietly develop. There are plants that suddenly explode. And then there is Candy Rain... who appears to have chosen the middle ground and simply keeps getting louder every single week. 😂 She's stacking. She's bulking. She's developing flowers throughout her structure. And the whole plant is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. What I really like is that there isn't just one area doing all the work. The flowering structures are developing throughout the plant. You look at one branch... then another... then another... and there's always something happening. Another flower. Another developing cola. Another little section gaining volume. Another area catching the light. It's becoming a beautiful, continuous story. 🌸🍬🌿 ──────────────────────── 🔥 STACKING, STACKING & MORE STACKING ──────────────────────── This is probably the biggest thing I notice this week. She's stacking. And she's stacking beautifully. 🌸🔥🌸🔥🌸 The flowers are becoming increasingly defined. The structures are getting more substantial. And the plant is starting to look less like a girl who is simply flowering... and more like a girl who has decided: "Right. We're building now." 😂 And I absolutely love watching that transition. Because we've been following this plant from much earlier in the run. We've watched her establish herself. We've watched her flower. We've watched her develop. We've watched the first flowers become larger structures. And now... we're watching those structures continue to stack and gain presence. That's the beauty of doing these weekly diaries. You don't just see a plant. You see the progression. ──────────────────────── 📢 SHE'S GETTING LOUDER ──────────────────────── I keep coming back to that word. Louder. 😂🍬🔥 Because visually... that's exactly how it feels. She's making herself known. The flowers are becoming more obvious. The stacking is becoming more obvious. The overall plant is becoming more substantial. And the closer we get... the more she seems to say: "Hello? Are you looking at me yet?" 😂 Yes, Candy Rain. We are. We definitely are. 🍬👀🌸 ──────────────────────── 🌼 THOSE PISTILS ARE CHANGING ──────────────────────── And now we're starting to see another little part of the story develop. The pistils. 🌼➡️🌸 She's beginning to change their colour. We're starting to see some of that earlier bright, warm appearance evolve. They're no longer all sitting there looking exactly the same. There's a transition happening. And I really enjoy watching this because it's one of those small visual details that becomes much more obvious when you follow the same plant week after week. She's still carrying plenty of green. She's still very much a green girl. But we're beginning to see those little changes developing within the flowers. And that's another reminder that she's moving. She's progressing. She's following her own rhythm. Nothing feels rushed. Nothing feels forced. She's simply moving along exactly as she seems to want to. 🍬🌼💚 ──────────────────────── 💚 STILL PLENTY OF GREEN ──────────────────────── And yes... there's still a lot of green. 😂🌿 Candy Rain is not suddenly turning into an autumn postcard. She's still carrying plenty of beautiful green foliage. And that's perfectly fine. She's still developing. She's still stacking. She's still bulking. She's still doing her thing. I don't want to force the story into some expectation of what she "should" look like at a particular moment. That's one of the things this whole project has taught me. Every plant has its own rhythm. Every phenotype expresses itself differently. And Candy Rain is telling us her story in her own language. So... we watch. We document. We appreciate. And we let her continue. ──────────────────────── 🌿 SHE'S FOLLOWING HER OWN RHYTHM ──────────────────────── This girl has never really been interested in following anybody else's schedule. 😂 And I love that. She's moving according to her own rhythm. Not necessarily screaming ahead. Not necessarily taking forever. Just... moving. Perfectly. At her own pace. And I think that's one of the most important things to recognize in a room like this. When you've got twelve different plants sharing one environment, you're going to see different speeds. Different structures. Different expressions. Different reactions. And that's exactly what makes the 8×8 Adventure so interesting. Candy Rain isn't late. She isn't early. She's Candy Rain. 🍬💚 And she's doing Candy Rain things. ──────────────────────── 👑 THE SOLO SURVIVOR HAS BECOME A CHARACTER ──────────────────────── I still think back to how this girl started her story. She was our solo survivor. The one that remained. And somehow... she has evolved into one of the characters I most enjoy following. 😂🍬 At first, the story was simply: "She's still here." Then: "She's growing." Then: "She's flowering." Then: "She's stacking." Then: "She's bulking." And now: "She's getting louder." 😂🔥 That's quite an evolution. She may have started as the survivor... but she's definitely not behaving like a background character anymore. ──────────────────────── 🌸 FLOWERS EVERYWHERE ──────────────────────── Look around the plant... flowers. Look again... more flowers. Move closer... even more flowers. 😂🌸 That's what I love about this stage. The plant has developed enough structure that the flowers now tell most of the story. You can see the framework. You can see the branches. You can see the foliage. But your eyes keep getting pulled toward those developing flowering structures. And Candy Rain has plenty of them. She's filling her space beautifully. Not necessarily in some dramatic, explosive way... but consistently. And consistency is beautiful. Week after week. Flower after flower. Stack after stack. ──────────────────────── 📸 THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE TELLING THE STORY ──────────────────────── Looking at this week's photographs, I really like how clearly the plant's progression comes through. The wider photographs show the overall structure. The closer photographs reveal the individual flowers. And then you get those little details... the pistils. The developing resin. The flower texture. The different stages of development across the plant. It's almost like looking at a little map of where she's been and where she's going. And honestly... I could probably keep photographing her all day. 😂📸 Because every time you change your angle, another flower catches your eye. ──────────────────────── 💡 SAME ROOM. SAME PHOTONS. SAME CANDY RAIN. ──────────────────────── And of course... we have to come back to one of the biggest themes of the 8×8 Adventure. Same room. Same general environment. Same lighting philosophy. Same irrigation system. Same nutritional foundation. Same 12/12 schedule. Same grower. And yet... different plants. Different genetics. Different expressions. Candy Rain is receiving the same general lighting environment as everyone else. The two additional Future of Grow Black Series 600W fixtures are still part of the room. We can give the room the photons it needs without simply running everything flat out. And then... we observe. That's the interesting part. The light provides the energy. The plants interpret it. And Candy Rain? She's interpreting it beautifully. She's stacking. She's bulking. She's developing. She's getting louder. 🍬☀️🌸 ──────────────────────── 💚 THERE'S NOT MUCH FOR ME TO DO NOW ──────────────────────── And honestly... this is probably the biggest thing I can say about this week. Earlier, those warmer yellowish tones were already giving Candy Rain a unique character. Now we're beginning to see more change. It's subtle. It's gradual. And it's exactly the kind of thing I enjoy documenting. Because this isn't about one photograph. It's about the sequence. Week 10. Week 11. Week 12. And suddenly you can see that little shift. That's the magic of a diary. You capture something that seems tiny today... and a few weeks later, you realize it was part of a much larger transition. 🍬🌼💚 ──────────────────────── ❄️ AND YES... 26-09-2021: 3rd week of veg-stage. Great. Will the be the last week or am I going to let them grow another week. I am switching to 12/12 as soon as the containers are not visible anymore. Then I also put the light on 100% power (75 right now). I sprayed the leaves with Hy-Pro Spraymix. Also topped the Runtz Muffin to slow her down a bit. Ladies almost touching the SCROG-net so probably next week starting to SCROG. I like that period on soil. Had no succes on hydro jet so I am curious how this will go. 27-09-2021: Ok.. The growth is good now, it's nice to see how they get a boost as soon as the roots hit the water. 5 cm in 1 night is really no exception. In the meantime, the first Gelato has just tapped it, so topped it right away. Now in doubt... The EC is at 1.1 and as you can see in the diagram below, the EC decreases slightly over a period of 3 days and the PH increases slightly. In 1995, scientists placed human DNA inside a sealed, air tight tube with photons. Without the DNA, the photons arranged themselves in a random scattered pattern, but when the DNA was inserted, the photons formed an alignment. Are there metaphysical, multidimensional aspects to our DNA? Have we just begun to understand what DNA is and what it represents? Vladimir Poponin is a well known Russian scientist who in 1995, with his colleagues, including biophysicist Peter Gariaev, conducted a very interesting experiment during their time at the Russian Academy of Sciences. In their paper (P.P. Gariaev and V.P. Poponin. Vacuum DNA phantom effect in vitro and its possible rational explanation. Nanobiology 1995 (in press)), Poponin states, in the introduction of the report, that, “We believe this discovery has tremendous significance for the explanation and deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying subtle energy phenomena including many of the observed alternative healing phenomena.” Why did he feel this way? We will get to that. Poponin and Gariaev tested the behaviour of DNA on photons, little tiny bits of matter, in the “quantum” that our world is made up of. They put photons into a tube specially designed to simulate a vacuum, just like the vacuum of space. With no air inside, they inserted the photons as they wanted to see what they did and how they behaved. The photons were distributed in a way that was completely unordered and random, scattered all over the container. This of course was what the team of researchers expected. Next, samples of human DNA were placed inside the tube with the photons, and what happened next is what’s truly mysterious. The photons reacted to the DNA, and changed their pattern and formed a specific alignment. In the presence of living material, the human DNA, the photons organized! This signified that the DNA was clearly having a direct influence over the photons. It’s one of many examples hypothesizing that something within us has a direct affect on the physical material matter outside of us. This experiment was repeated and confirmed, and it was further observed that human DNA has a direct affect on the quantum ‘stuff’ that our world is made up of. Fascinating to say the least. The Next Big Surprise The next big surprise was observed when the researchers removed the DNA from the container. The scientists assumed that the photons would simply return to their original scattered state, but this didn’t happen. Instead, the photons remained ordered as if the DNA were still in the tube. Poponin described the light as behaving “surprisingly and counter-intuitively.” The researchers hypothesized and were “forced to accept the working hypothesis that some new field structure is being excited.” Is there something being left behind? Something in non-physical form? This experiment tells us that DNA is communicating with the ‘stuff’ our world is made of, and that there is some sort of invisible field that exists. Perhaps DNA represents a place of storage and communications to the past? To the future? To others in the universe who have left their mark, so to speak. Who knows. Quantum Physics and Consciousness Nobel laureate of the twentieth century Richard Feynman once said, with regards to quantum mechanics, “we choose to examine a phenomenon which is impossible, absolutely impossible, to explain in any classical way, and which has in it the heart of quantum mechanics. In reality, it contains the only mystery.” Another great quote that comes to mind anytime the world of science dives deep into the mysterious world of quantum physics: There seems to be a deep concern that the whole field will be tarnished by studying a phenomenon that is tainted by its association with superstition, spiritualism and magic. Protecting against this possibility sometimes seems more important than encouraging scientific exploration or protecting academic freedom. But this may be changing.” – Cassandra Vieten, PhD and President/CEO at the Institute of Noetic Sciences. The reason why the association with superstition, spiritualism and magic mentioned in the quote above exists when it comes to examining certain phenomenon is simply because the observed phenomenon is unexplainable. But it’s important to remember, just because something is unexplainable does not mean that it’s not real, it simply means we don’t fully understand it yet. Academia has a long history of rejecting phenomenon, that’s clearly real, yet simply unexplainable. Quantum physics clearly has a strong connection to consciousness and metaphysical phenomenon. Max Planck, a physicist who originated quantum theory, regarded consciousness as “fundamental,” and matter as “derivative from consciousness.” He said that “we cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness.” This has been demonstrated quite clearly by multiple experiments, like the quantum double slit experiment. A paper published in the peer-reviewed journal Physics Essays by Dean Radin, PhD, explains how this experiment has been used multiple times to explore the role of consciousness in shaping the nature of physical reality. In this experiment, a double-slit optical system was used to test the possible role of consciousness in the collapse of the quantum wave-function. Photons were shot through two slits, in multiple different ways. The study found that factors associated with consciousness “significantly” correlated in predicted ways with perturbations in the double slit interference pattern. In this experiment, tiny bits of matter (photons, electrons, or any atomic-sized object) are shot towards a screen that has two slits in it. On the other side of the screen, a high-tech video camera records where each photon lands. When scientists close one slit, the camera will show us an expected pattern, as seen in the video below. But when both slits are opened, an “interference pattern” emerges — they begin to act like waves. You can refer to the actual study to find out more about that if you want to see a visual demonstration of the quantum double slit experiment. The point is, consciousness changes the behaviour of the particles. “Observation not only disturbs what has to be measured, they produce it. We compel the electron to assume a definite position. We ourselves produce the results of the measurement.” The study cited above points out that “factors associated with consciousness, such as meditation experience, electrocortical markers of focused attention, and psychological factors including openness and absorption, significantly correlated in predicted ways with perturbations in the double-slit interference pattern. The results appear to be consistent with a consciousness-related interpretation of the quantum measurement problem.” The Takeaway DNA is fascinating, and it’s probably the least understood part of our biology. There are definitely interesting metaphysical non-material aspects to our DNA, and changes to our DNA can come as a result of our thoughts, feelings, and emotions alone. HeartMath researchers have shown that physical aspects of DNA strands could be influenced by human intention. The article, Modulation of DNA Conformation by Heart-Focused Intention – McCraty, Atkinson, Tomasino, 2003 – describes experiments that achieved such results.

There were problems with the grow. First I burned the leaves with self made insecticide. Then she got nitrogen poisoning. She grew rather small, but the smell was beautiful: fruity and exotic, pineapple 😊. I am very happy that she still managed to grow such nice buds. I only trimmed the fan leaves and hung the stalks with buds in the basement. I hope that humidity will stay reasonable. ATM there is 75% RH I will update the report after first smoke

Good bit of growth this week, plenty of bud sites forming and she is drinking alot of juice. I think she is doing really height wise, I only vegged for 4 weeks to keep her height appropriate and I don't want her to stretch too much towards the light so she's growing accordingly. I accidentally split the topped stem during transport when I forgot she was attached to the grow bag but she seems fine and getting on with it. As soon as all the budsites have formed I'm going to defoliate and get some light on them lower budsites and make her focus on growing some nice colas. Next time I will leave the LST on until about now cos she's straightened up a lot and it's a bit more crowded lower down than I would have liked. Wappa was a real joy to grow. It stretches enormously during flowering and doesn't require a long vegetative period. The aroma is fruity with a slight hint of vanilla. The buds are very dense.

April 19, 2024 Day 64 A new week and nothing to change. I took each plant out and separately took pics. But that's it. Banana Purple Punch A has a final height of 23". She is 24" from the light and the DLI is 43 mol/m²/d. She is the bigger of the two but has more space and less bud. The buds are still really nice and covered in trichomes. I'll get a couple pictures in when I remember to. Banana Purple Punch B has a final height of 21". She is 23" from the light due to the risers. The DLI is 44 mol/m²/d. She's the smaller, but has way more bud and it appears the size isn't going to matter with this one. I can't really tell for sure what the yield will be for them, but if they bulk up enough, I may get 4 oz out of each plant. Maybe 5 depending on the bud density. No watering today. They will be needing water tomorrow though. I may pull back on the Overdrive. I'm getting some burning tips. I'm guessing it's the dose of Overdrive. I'll drop it down to 4 ml instead of the 8 ml it's currently at. Same thing with the Bud Candy. I just don't think they need the full dose. Especially when everything else is getting a half dose. The light is obviously staying the same this week. Probably for the next 2 weeks. Unless they start to finish up super quick. So maybe another 3 to 4 weeks left on the plants total. The environment is a bit off today. The temp is kind of high at 78° and the humidity is also kind of high at 56%. I'd much rather everything be down. 75° and 50% is good for now. Still don't know how I'm going to get the humidity down to 45%. I may have to work with 50% for the rest of the grow. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 53.3% VPD: 1.31 kPa April 20, 2024! Happy 420! Well, today was watering day. I decided not to add the Overdrive today. It should help with the nutrient burn. Next watering I'll start the 4 ml dose. I also dropped the Bud Candy down to 4 ml also to help with the nutrient burn. Banana Purple Punch A looks great! Her buds are super fat. I can't wait to see the end result for this lady. Great leaf to bud ratio and beautiful colors. Banana Purple Punch B is getting super fat buds. Not as big as Banana Purple Punch A, but still swelling. I'm also fairly certain that, Banana Purple Punch A started flowering earlier, so her buds are naturally further along and of course are bigger. However, Banana Purple Punch B has more bud throughout the plant. When the buds really start to swell, I may not see branch anymore. Lol. That would be fantastic. The lighting didn't change yet again. The environment is back to normal today. The temps are gradually climbing up from last night's 68° with the humidity staying happily at 51%. As I said, it would fix itself. Happy days! Now it's at 74° and should be back up to 76° in a couple of hours. I was planning on starting this week, and there are tons of trichomes, but not enough to be impressive. Banana Purple Punch A has super fat buds and looks great! She is a tiny bit crushed against Banana Purple Punch B and it's pressing the leaves inward. No big deal, but I need to document something. Banana Purple Punch B doesn't have the fastest buds like her sister plant, but they are still fat and compact. Hopefully they bulk up like Banana Purple Punch A. Her leaves are also being forced in from the contact with Banana Purple Punch A. Lighting is the same. The environment finally fixed itself and is now at 75° and 49% humidity. Looking great! Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.4° RH: 49.7% VPD: 1.39 kPa April 22, 2024 Nothing going on today. I filled the jugs with the nutrients and they are standing by. Both reservoirs are still about a quarter full. So watering will be waiting for either first thing tomorrow or later today. The advantage is I don't have to water just in the morning. I can water anytime, so when the reservoir is near empty, I can refill it. Hell, I could do that later tonight. But I don't think I will unless necessary. I don't like to pull the plants out more than once a day, just Incase they get stressed or damaged somehow. But I take them out for inspection and solo pics. Banana Purple Punch A is getting heavy buds now. The branches are starting to sway in that way now. She looks great! Banana Purple Punch B is also looking great! She had a couple leaves snipped off today. Just a couple though. 2 leaves that were being crushed. Other than that, her structure is still great and her buds are coming along nicely. I may be expecting this to finish up in the next 2 to 3 weeks. As always, the lighting has stayed in place. Another week and we shall see if I'm dropping the intensity down. We will see what the plants are doing. The environment is doing quite nicely. A good 75° today with the humidity at 50%. I couldn't ask for any better with this setup. It has been dipping down to 48%, so that's a good sign. The night temp and humidity are still looking pretty good. Steady humidity at 50% and the temp average for last night was still 68°. I'd like to see the average at around 66° for the rest of the run, but I'm still having trouble getting the temp that low. It did drop down to 65° for a bit last night, but through the night, the temp needs time to drop and I only get about an hour or so of cold. I'm planning on cooling my room off earlier in the evening, so when the lights go out, we are down to maybe 72° and will drop even lower for a longer period of time. I'll start that next week I think. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.8° RH: 49.2% VPD: 1.41 kPa April 23, 2024 Not a lot going on today. Just watering and inspection. Both plants got the full watering and half the dose of Overdrive and half the dose of Bud Candy. Banana Purple Punch A has great fat buds, but spaced out quite a bit. She still looks super good though. Beautiful greens and good sized fan leaves. Banana Purple Punch B is the best of the two by far. She has the most bud and the cleanest structure. Leaf to bud ratio is right on point if not a little high. But no big deal. I'll be doing a wet trim anyway, so it won't matter too much. In the mean time, I'll just leave her alone. Just watering and observation. Both ladies have a wonderful aroma. Strong and sweet. A little hint of gas as well. It's a sharp smell, the best way I can explain it. It's not super heady like diesel, but sharp like petrol. I'd like to discuss the time frame these ladies have left. By the way they look, id say another 2 to 3 weeks. Maybe less. They have tons of pistils and only a couple have turned orange. So they're still going strong. The lighting is still spot on for these two. Depending on how they look next week, I may leave it or drop the power down. We shall see. The environment is looking good today. Currently 8 have it at 78°, but that will go down to 75° in an hour. I had to kickstart my heater and bring the temp up as quick as I could. Now I just have to adjust it down to 75° simple. Also, I discovered that my dehumidifier was off. Oops. Anyway, I turned that back on and the humidity is hanging just below 50% now. The VPD is around 1.60 kPa. Should be fine for the next few hours. Honestly, I'm pretty sure the VPD should be around 1.60 kPa anyway. But that's with the temp at 75° and the humidity at 45%. Currently it's fine, but with the dehumidifier back on, I should be able to lower the temp a bit and really drop the humidity. Hopefully. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 49.0% VPD: 1.42 kPa Nothing going on today. Just observation. What I'm observing is tons of trichomes. Frosty tops and leaves. Frost everywhere. I'll start with the trichome pics next week. Then we should have tons of good pics. Now if I can keep my hand steady... That's the trick. Banana Purple Punch A looks great as always. Her buds are getting fatter everyday. No orange pistils yet. Well, not an abundance of them. Just a few scattered here and there. You can tell she's got another 2 weeks left. But that's a good thing. Big ole fat buds. Lots of frost and tons of smell. Banana Purple Punch B looks majestic. Her buds are coated on trichomes and she's almost at the place where I can really call her frosty. Not quite yet though. I want a full blanket of frost. Very close. And with her structure, she looks all the better. I'm not expecting to move the light for at least another week or so, and even then I may only drop the power down to 80%. I just don't quite know yet. The environment is a bit off today. The temp is fine at 75°, but it's the humidity that is a bit high today. It's holding at 52%. Nothing crazy, but definitely not below 50%. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.6° RH: 50.9% VPD: 1.41 kPa April 25, 2024 Today is the end of week 9 and moving into late flower. Things will be changing starting next week. Lots to document. Nothing to do today. Both reservoirs are still too full to refill, so that won't be happening until later today or early tomorrow. There honestly isn't much to report at all. Everything looks the same as yesterday. The buds are bigger, but that's about it. Same thing with the lighting. Nothing to change. The environment is actually really nice. I have the heat in my room cranked for now. I've been keeping the tent around 76°. The humidity has been happy at 50%. I also managed to get the temp down to 62° last night. Not for long though. It was too cold on my room for that. Lol. The average for the night was 65°. Right where I want it. Now to figure out how to keep it at 65° without slamming it all the way down to 62°. The humidity was also nice and low at 48%. Excellent night temp. Let's hope I can keep it up. Everything is looking great ! Cheese is nearly done, it is starting to show amber. Maui is very happy and smells amazing, it just glistens with tri-chromes. Buttercream is doing well but I think it will take a week or two longer than the others. Blueberry is looking awesome very large thick dense buds. No Blueberry smell but a very strong plant otherwise. *Update Buttercream gelato started throwing Banana's so I removed it from the room. I trimmed it down and did not notice any other signs of hermaphroditism but I will still harvest the plant now just to be safe. There have been no issues with light or heat fluctuations at all, nothing that would trigger it to Hermie that I can think of which makes me think genetics are the issue. I have One other Buttercream going that was cloned before this one went into flower. If it hermies late in the bloom like this one has I will remove the strain from my rotation. I am not particularly pleased with the structure of Buttercream for scrog in any case. The plant that I took down had very large bud sites but were no where near as dense as the other strains in the tent.
