Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. New year is here so after 33-35 days of curing its geting better and now is that point that you could smoke it but you are not 100% happy with resault of doing that only mounth and something, think that with time would be much better, like after 60days. I did some mistake in start of curing proces..why, becuse after i put them in jars and after 1-2 hours they show on meter 46-49% humidity and i react at first and right away put that 2way humidity bags, i think i should rather relase some time say or two to see will humidity rise up like it should, and this bags was strong for how much i had in jar with bag, so basicly i didnt let moist from inside turn up to outside of bud, and thats why i had till 20-x day problems with still feeling moist and harshnes in smell and taste.(while testing to see every few days how its going to understanding better of point curing) So i put away 2way bags, give them few times fresh air, trying to recreate begging of proces and remove with fresh air that shild that bud become from bag thats stops moist getting out of bud from inside, and i think that i did good job in that save and time will and must show more from this strain! So i fixed that and now going in ups side direction! And when am i by that word strain, need to say that northen light showed well for first grow,she could take some damage and good recover, easy and as you see in grow i didnt do lst or toping, i try bit of lst but i have holes on pots so i lost that option in my head from begginig, i am glad that i leave them alone and let them be them, to see how will they show up, at the end they did. Its hit nice and fluffy (not high thc %) (thats the maybe best part of text in whole proces from first day till now)(zaza is working nice and i got become more fulently writer)(maybe iam tripping 😁🍀🥦) Wish you guys all best in new year, enjoy more and lot of health 🎆🥂

One of the elbows on the fixture was loose and lowered a bulbs, getting a few tops a little crispy so I dropped the pot a half inch. Other than that we are trucking along. Probably another 4 weeks to go

On Day 127 i harvested a few buds from the right plant because she had perfekt condicioned trichomes and a lot from the left because i dont want to risk more mold.

2/22/24 - Day 108 - ok yall harvest is done! I'm exhausted! It took about 3hrs. There were a few things that I will highlight the differences. I have tons of pictures and video to go through. I'll update later...... I'm tired! 2/23/24 - Day 109 - Everything went really well yesterday. I was able to cut the harvest time from 9 hrs last time to 3 hrs this time. Here are some of the details on this. Last time I hung each branch on its own, it took forever to use the twist ties and then to hang each one. This time i used some drying nets. The only problem with the drying nets is for sure there will be one side that is going to be flat..... it's still going to smoke the same and if it saves me 5 hrs. then I'm doing that. LOL I also decided this time not to wet trim the buds before putting them up to dry. I did remove fan leaves that had 0 THC on them, but if there was a leaf sticking from a bud and it had THC on it i left it. That also saved me some time. The bud quality was better this time around, the buds are denser and more compact. I also had almost NO popcorn buds. The last grow I had 2 to 3 ounces in popcorn schwag buds. They were tasty and great but this time around every bud was a legit contender. This could be due to having more space, I used an Auto in the box this time. I thought Autos would be difficult to control in this space limited environment, but it was the exact opposite. It's just as easy if not easier to grow an Auto in this Magic Box. I think its important to note that anything I talk about here is from my own experience, I've purchased everything with my own money and no one pays me for my reviews or details. This is such a labor of LOVE for me. They day I get a job in the Cannabis industry is the day I stop working, at that point it would just be me living my dream having a BLAST! The girls have grown nice and healthy on her vegetation and on her roots.. I have kept feeding her the same as last wk up until today(26/5/20),checking my res daily for any rise or drops in pH and ec.. Today i gave her basic top up with bloom nutes but not any extra pk or flowering additives until she has clear signs of change.. Hopefully will have stretched a bit more and start to form her flowers by nxt wks diary's input..also gave her a little hst on the right plant as she was standing over her roomie.. Surprised by how well the water is wicked to the medium from the water bottle, it took a long time, but wick works as intended. I was unsure how much if any nutrient would be transferred via wick but the high salt content altered pH at certain parts. Right before the symptoms arose I decided to supercrop the stem top to bottom on one plant, shortly thereafter the burning happened from the same plant from running 8.0 pH, and nutrient uptake ground to a halt on the plant that was dealing with stress. She doesn't seem happy. Remedied with aluminum sulfate, things seem to be coming back to normal. I need to be more careful with salts. I need MOAR knowledge. How many weeks shall we veg? Going to take a while to fill that canopy with just two plants, should probably start topping now but I'll wait until pH problem Is remedied first, a couple more days hopefully 🙏. I defoliated maybe 6 bigger leaves that had burned yellow on one plant, as it comes back to optimal range, this will be a good opportunity to observe the subtle differences that early defoliation can make. Added a pound of tourmaline powder and biochar, both increase soil urease and invertase activities. *2025 Didn't charge the biochar skewing my ph drastically. Urease is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of urea into CO2 and NH3 and is a key component in the nitrogen cycle in soils. Invertase (d-fructofuranosidfructohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.26) is the enzyme that capable both break down α-1,4-glycosidic linkage between d-glucose and d-fructose of sucrose and transferring αβ-D-O-fructofuranoside residue to an acceptor substrate (Toledo et al., 2019). Since tourmaline is widely distributed in the natural environment and has many excellent physical and chemical properties including radiating far infrared energy, permanently releasing negative ions, producing an electrostatic field, releasing rare microelements, and stimulating the growth and metabolism of microorganisms and plants, tourmaline had been conducted to alleviate potential environmental pollution. Perfect for how much seaweed I've added just incase.
