This week the photoperiod girls continued to show steady growth and healthy development. Their leaves are a rich green, with wide blades and strong node stacking. The plants are branching nicely without excessive stretch, which means the 18-inch, 50% light setting is still working perfectly. The cover crop has taken off and is providing great soil protection, though it may need some trimming soon to prevent light competition. Humidity and pest prevention measures (sticky traps, nematodes applied earlier) are keeping things stable with no major pest pressure noted. On the feeding front, the plants have been living off the nutrients in their soil with no deficiencies showing. The plan is to water with silica tonight (Sept 3) to strengthen cell walls and prep them for training. Topping is scheduled this week as well — this will help shape the canopy and encourage even bushier growth moving into later veg. Overall, Week 4 has been smooth and productive. The plants are thriving in their environment, setting the stage for training and stronger structural development in Week 5.

I see some bugs

10/5: Comparing photos from the beginning of last week and today, it was pretty decent growth. If they were stunted from being in the temporary grow bags for too long, it wasn't too badly. --Blackberry I (I call her Halle), is really purpling up well, and looking like she'll be a single uber-phat cola...no branching at all..whereas her sister is all about the branches. --Wedding Cheesecakes are consistently big and vigorous. They'll probably be the best producers of the crop. --Orange Sherbets look like clones they are so consistent in shape and leaf structures. Kinda short compared to the other varieties, but nice and bushy. --Gorilla Cookies are also identical in plant shape, but two of them are a few days ahead of the other as far as pistil production goes. Also not a very tall cultivar, but many branches. --The late/stunted Lemon Pie is praying to the sun at all times and starting to look like she belongs in the same crop. The bigger LP is gorgeous..perfect structure, the other one is catching up, but my cat keeps defoliating her.😏 ---Strawberry Pies have massive sun-blocking fan leaves that require constant tucking, but they are branching well, and a couple of them are pretty beefy. The other SP is doing fine considering her crooked trunk and slow start. 10/6: Today I noticed 9 "lone" nanners on the nodes of the crooked trunk-Strawberry Pie!😧 No clusters.. just single pollen sacs here and there.🤨 These plants have experienced no major stress at all...I'm keeping it like late-August upper-peninsula Michigan in the closet. 80f/50%RH 👌 Damnit...this is a new, stable strain, right??👈 I've seen no other SP diaries with hermaphrodites...just my fukt luck I guess.😖 I plucked them and will watch for more..and I guess I'd better keep a close eye on the other two SPs as well... I just got my wife a new 16 x 7 x 7 greenhouse frame with the green semi-translucent cover for her 4' x 12' raised bed...if i see any more sneaky nanners appear, I'll probably remove the plant(s) and move them outdoors to finish in there. I swore I'd not do any training this run, but while removing the pollen sacs I couldn't resist opening up and tieing down some branches on the hermie.🤷 10/9: I fed them.

There have been no trips for 2 weeks, but prevention is better 😀. Because of the neem oil, the plants look very dark and shiny, which I really like when they shimmer like that 😝. I didn't do any training these days, that will be done again the next few days 👌. it was watered twice this week with around 0.6 l per plant. The Ph / Ec measuring device was also recalibrated. So far she’s growing great, I noticed she was a bit finicky with the nutrients at 75% strength, I noticed a couple claws here and there so I only fed big bud and sensi bloom and a little lower strength and she reacted great to it.

Back to low maintenance. Getting closer to harvest! Giving it a little longer to fatten those buds up.

I watered today with 1.5g of de-chlorinated water which was then ph'd to 6.6 @ 72℉ turned her pot and shot a few pictures of her. 10/6- Today I watered her with 1.5g of her usual straight de-chlorinated water that's ph'd to 6.5 @ 72℉ and turned her pot. She's definitely starting to fade, is still stacking her flowers, bulking up and has an incredible amount of trichomes which I'm beginning to monitor daily. 10/8- The routine of watering every other day continues like clockwork. Yesterday was a 'no water' day and I did a basic check over of the plant, removed a couple of yellowed lower leaves and turned her pot. Today she got the usual 1.5g of straight de-chlorinated water that's ph'd to 6.5 @ 72℉ and had her pot turned. I've also begun to check her trichome development with a digital USB microscope to try to identify the ideal harvest time which will be in the next 12 days +/-. 10/10- Well, Week Eight of flower has come, gone and has been a trial once again of my patience! She's so freaking frosty that I've wanted to chop her several times but, I know from experience, good things come to those who wait... then wait a bit more. Her fade is in full swing now and I anticipate that she'll be ready by the end of this coming week... I can't wait! I've cut the wattage back on the HLG 650R to 500w at the wall now to simulate the way that sunshine becomes weaker as fall approaches due to the lower angle of the sun in the sky. This helps outdoor plants to know that winters on the way and they need to hurry up and complete their life cycle. Cutting the wattage back creates the same effect on the indoor plants, especially when coupled with lowered temperatures in the tent. I have also noticed that her water uptake has slowed. After her heavy watering on the 8th, her pot still had some weight to it and she was looking great so I went ahead and skipped watering her today, watering her tomorrow at lights on with her usual. Huge buds everywhere. I for sure unlocked most of these seeds. I wish the trichome production had been better 😏
