Ginger Nut cookies & Aussie music Videos Grow Diary update 27th Feb 2020 The preflowering Stretch has well and truly begun with every branch that wasn't tied down , shooting upwards a few inches. The plant itself looks very healthy and content. Once flowering starts I'll begin to add P+K to the feeding regime. We have had bugger all sunlight here for over a week and also we have had lots of rain and wind. Daily max temps have been around the 24-25 celcius range and the minimums around 15 c. RH has been high 67% on average. That is about it for this weeks plant update . Now for the weekly Music videos. ** Last week I posted the links to three different artists who were picked by fellow growers thru the Grow question that I posted asking for requests. ** This week is back to just the one featured Artist from Australia. This week's artist is Mr Paul Kelly who is an Australian rock music singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has performed solo, and has led numerous groups, including the Dots, the Coloured Girls, and the Messengers. He has worked with many other artists and groups and is considered one of the finest singer songwriters to have come from Australia. Once again I couldn't narrow it down to just one song as he's had many great tunes but I have chosen the two with the best Music video as that is the main criteria for my Diaries Theme. Week 10 of flowering! This last week has been one of the most challenging when it came to climate, After I stopped C02 the humidity levels just continued to climb and the AC and Dehumidifier could not keep up. I'm guessing this has to do with the sheer volume of the plants in the airspace, and without the additional C02 keeping the stomas partway closed. I've decided to just leave the tent open during the day and its sits right at 55% humidity. Now on to the flush...

Day 30 toady, i switched to 12/12 3 days ago e the babies are already stretching hard and some are showing preflowers i'm pretty happy i'm watering with no nutrients as i'm using Canna Pro Plus soil and it should have enough nutrients for the first 3/4 weeks of flower. I cleaned the bottom of the plants from lowers branches and leaves and i will continua till day 14 of flower and i fixed it with a bamboo stick i got gifted from @AlpineGoat i will fix the other branches in the next weeks i'm pretty stocked with this grow this genetics are really solid growing strong and fast! Through germination and was delighted to experience 100% success rate👍 Excited to run this strain from Mephisto. It is supposed to be a couple of their strongest and fruitiest crossed. My Skywalker was a good experience and I could have ran her again but I wanted to try another strain from this breeder and see if there are some similarities......this sounded fun👍😋 Just popped one of these girls and will probably miss some timing but that is how the game works.......learn from this one with hopes of dialing in the siblings😀👍 Greater focus on VPD this run. Already pushing the humidity higher than I ever have with having controller set at 72% with temperature at 79 degrees. I have been reviewing the numbers and I have normally been close but it looks like I have to raise everything by about 10% and for a few weeks long😬😬😬😬😬😬 Trust the science and lets learn some more from this grow!!! *****Daily Detail: Apr 11, Day 1: - VPD - 1.2 - 500ml first watering given with nutrients as listed. (minus Velokelp) - pH water to 5.6 - Girl is up and looking like she is ready to go. Apr 12, Day 2: - VPD - 1.0 - 500ml feeding with VeloKelp @ 2ml/L, Piranha & Voodoo @ 1ml/L. pH to 5.6 - lowered light intensity a bit more. - She is getting taller now. Seems to be speeding up. Still the slowest of the group. - She seems most affected by too much light. Apr 13, Day 3 - VPD - 1.2 - 500ml water with 0.5ml/L each of Piranha & Voodoo, Dual Fuel. - 300ppm with 5.4pH. Apr 14, Day 4 - VPD - 1.1 - 500ml water with Virtathrive and Piranha & Voodoo Juice @ 1ml/L, VeloKelp @ 2ml/L, and SensiCal @ 0.5ml/L. - 210ppm with 5.5pH. - She is doing well. Starting to see the first set of leaves growing a little odd. Both offset to one side of the pot. Good progress though little early to worry about some things. Apr 15, Day 5 - VPD 1.0 - 250ml water with VeloKelp @ 1ml/L. - 95ppm with 5.4pH. - She was a little slow and little dark but she seems to be coming along. Once she strengthens up the bend should come out of her stem👌🤞 Apr 16, Day 6 - VPD 1.0 - 500ml water with Piranha & Voodoo @ 1ml/L, Vitathrive @ 0.5ml/L, Dual Fuel @ 0.5ml/L. - 300ppm with 5.8pH - She is looking more healthy today. Being more robust. - Her second set of leaves are not as progressed as the other girls. Just an observation. Apr 17, Day 7 - VPD 1.1 - Turned on flower light on UnitFarm this afternoon and they are happier. - Dry out day today and no added water/feed, just misting. - Let the medium dry out a bit and give a nice week 2 feed tomorrow.....they are ready for a little more nutrients now. - Not a lot to report today. She is happier than yesterday and getting bigger......can’t ask for much more👍💪👌

So here we are with the last chapter of this journey which had many ups and downs but overall was a great experience. I love growing, it slowly became my passion thanks for GD and the community. It makes so much better, and lot of fun, one can interact with others and can learn from each other. Thanks for everyone who was with me in this last 2 years, you made me a better grower.🌱🌞 So let’s talk about the progress. I grew Liberty for the second time because it was my first photoperiodic strain 2 years ago and totally impressed me with it’s high yield and the effects. I wasn’t disappointed this time either. She had great structure, responded well to topping and training, and was resilient to pests. The germination rate wasn’t as good as usual and finally got 3 different phenotypes from the 5 germinated seeds. I topped them once and performed low stress training to get a flat canopy. The strong structure and rate of growth was impressive in the first 10 weeks which was actually a vegetative phase. They didn’t have any nutrient issues and even though they were under stress for two weeks (was my fault) in mid flowering, they performed really good. So it is a stress tolerant variety in my opinion.👌🌱 The buds are large sized and fat with medium resin production and a different scent for each phenotype. They aren’t dense and sticky like some indicas, but that says nothing about their potency. Flowering time was longer than the breeders recommendation but it's worth all the patience. Four plants were harvested 10 weeks after switched to 12/12 and one after 11,5 week. The harvest took place in several phases and some were immediately trimmed, some were hung with leaves. Calyx to leaf ratio was high except one plant so was relatively easy to trim. Plants which were trimmed after drying was easier this time.💚✂️ Based on the name, you'd really think it's a strong sativa strain but actually, this plant is a balanced hybrid, and it shows in both the growth characteristics and the effect. I am satisfied how this grow turned out however I know that it could have been better without my mistakes. In those two mid flowering weeks when the VPN was off and they were in stress I lost both the yield and the quality of the bud structure. So the total weight is 475 grams. 41 grams ore smaller airy popcorns and the rest are nice nuggets. I weighed the plants separately because I stored them also like this for later testing and smoke report.

- 3rd round of veg nutes; doubling last weeks and upping cal mag from 2.5 to 3 - Bucket has 3.75 gal of water in it - First defoliation. Learned I should have cut more bottom leaves since I ended up doing that down the line anyway - Trying to keep humidity between 55-65%

Getting closer to the end and it's showing. Upping the BioPK still a little bit. I think they'll be ready in a day or 10. A couple more rounds and I'll start flushing. Even though everybody keeps telling me flushing has been scientifically debunked, I dont really feel comfortable not doing it. Any comments on that from you guys?

Overall this was a wild grow. Had some ups and downs, trial and error, but at the end of the day I learned a lot and I’m going to keep on trying new things. Wish the solo cup challenge was still going on I totally would have won.

Got bud rot. It was foggy and raining second last week before chop….and not gonna lie, prolly cuz it was sitting under the carbon filter. I haven’t changed or washed the pre-filter in a year, just a light tap and I can see dust flying everywhere. Prolly tossed 1/3lb into garbage. Harvested prolly 1/2lb of tops and mids. And threw all the larf into the freezer for bubble hash. Will update in a few weeks after cure. This was a fun run. Mars Hydro for the win!

welcome to Day 29 15/1/21 she has grown so much in 1 week and that makes me happy as she was quite small. I have done light trimming of the lower leaves and toped up the res with the addition of flower nutes. that's all for this week happy growing and as always keep your stick on the ice

These were all pretty Uniform in height and weight even with #3 being replanted 2 weeks in, lots of Haze smell diesel and pungent on the front end and some sweet at the tail, I should of let these go a few more weeks I think it would be better. I have read and have heard that the flowering time the breeders recommend is based on a 1000w set up. and light plays an important roll in yield as far as flowering goes Its all about time. and maybe next time I will grow these to a more perfect pant. but this round as a grower I give myself a 6 out of 10 got some buds to some and turned the trim and larf to hash, not a huge return and the Trichomes were mainly in the 25 micron range with a minimal amount in the 76 micron bag. so My thinking is that these were all small and under developed trichomes, this leans into my theory that they could have gone another 3 or for weeks, Failure has been my greatest teacher and I really enjoy this hobby. Next grow will be an Organic Dry Amendment Auto Flower with new lights no more Blurple import lights. I got my 1st vaccine shot. hope you all are staying safe and lifted. This plant was planted a week after the other six plants in the tent and she stretched very good during the first week of flower, in veg I saw she was gonna get big fast, she grows super fast and ended up the same size if not bigger than her sisters, very recomended strain, amazing powerful smell, very strong cerebral happy high, I enjoy a lot sativas, diesel it's not my favorite flavor but it's definitely awesome for everyone specially you diesel fans! Congratulations to Gea Seeds providing amazing quality strains to the growers!

This week was ok I have noticed that she is started to go into pre-flower may be my last week on grow. I don't think she's going to be a big plant because she is going into flower at that size . but I have a lot of work to do with them autos anyway and I knew that from the start .The other plant that I have I've noticed may have a calmag issue. so I have added sensei calmag extra to the mix I would normally do that in coco anyway but didn't think it would need it in the soil but obviously does. I will post a question with a picture of it today to so you can have a look and decide what the issue is but I think it may be a calmag issue thank you for looking at the update and we'll be one every week 👍
