Hey guys, it's been a great journey but I've finally hung my Stardawg out to dry! Yesterday was their last day totalling 8 weeks on flower. Realistically they could have benefited from a further week because the lower buds are somewhat underdeveloped but then I would risk losing the preferred sweet high smoke of the top buds. With this being my first attempt it's been a great learner not only for how to care for the plants but also the environment. As soon as these went into flower and started stretching I knew that putting 6 in a 2.4 x 1.2m tent was a bad idea. They just got so big which is the cause of the lower sites not being as good as the top colas. Despite that I'm really happy with the outcome and I'm hoping ive got 30oz+ of real good quality nugs. All of the top colas have turned a gorgeous violet colour too which you can see on the pictures and I absolutely love. For my next grow I've gone with 6 fastbuds strains which hopefully will go under a scrog. Check back next week for the harvest and weigh in!

I took a photo with a flash while the babies were sleeping. I know I shouldn’t cos it could affect them. So I’m sorry if I’ll keep taking bad photo with the growing light, I will make better content for the harvest time :) They are starting to produce a nice amount of crystals and the smell is goin to be quite strong.

This week is another step towards the end goal of getting to see these beautifull buds. Gave them a dose of build a flower on day 17. Gave them a heavy dose of molasses on day 21 mild on 17 with flower. 1 pheno is getting covered in resin early. All have a musky gas smell as of now. Something sweet them fist open the tent.

Start of week 7(May 3rd 2022). I’ve been using Lotus Grow every watering and so I decided to flush the pots with 7x their water holding capacity in the bathtub. I will be alternating between Lotus bloom/boost and a plant based “tea” from Dragonfly Earth Medicine called Fat Flowers. Lights were too close and caused marks on the leaves which look like deficiencies, I’ll keep a close eye until I can be sure. The petioles are purpling on the indoor plants as well(might be genetics though from the Strawberry Nuggets).

I started a new job, so detailed comments will come shortly once I get some time to fill things out. Mostly I just transplanted at week 2 for the Banana Bombs and week 1 for the Cement Shoes... Honestly the Banana Bomb were already looking kinda root bound in their solo cups by the end of 2 weeks, so the advice that the leaf length to cup diameter seems accurate as they were definitely growing out past the cups. The Cement Shoes had decent enough root development that I had no issues with the transfer, but I also may have been able to wait 3 or 4 more days. It doesn't seem to mind one bit though and if anything appeared to have the least shock and quickest recovery time. Just have been watering and keeping to the light schedule. I sprinkled some diatomaceous earth on the top of the pots on Thursday as a kind of potential preventative. I saw a flying bug go into my tent from my room and was unable to smack it, and the last thing I wanted was it getting some ideas to lay some eggs. Hopefully the two days it was on the top of the soil before I watered deterred it, if it even was a bug that would cause issue to begin with (I had no idea but taking no chances). I will introduce molasses and maybe some other botanical or compost teas in the next week or so, possibly with the addition of some malted barley top dressing. We shall see what time and money allows. I also wish to start some kind of IPM with neem, azamax, sm90, Spinosad, D-limonene, or essential oil mixes. Wanting to stick to organic control of course, so options may not include some things or others. If I can afford predatory mites or nematoads or something to toss in the soil, that might be good too. More research must be done.

The lighting intensity is at 833 PPFD, and the solution in the reservoir is fine-tuned to a pH of 6.22, EC of 475, with a temp of 21.8°C. Let’s talk pH in the reservoir: it’s a dynamic process, and I’m constantly adjusting it to keep everything at the right level. The pH tends to rise throughout the week, and each day, I work it back down, fine-tuning it to keep those plants happy and balanced. Managing pH is truly a hands-on job, and it’s worth every moment. I love staying on top of it for optimal nutrient uptake—it’s all about consistent effort and keeping that perfect range dialed in. Leaf Maintenance & Selective Defoliation These leaves are HUGE and gorgeous, creating a lush canopy that’s nearly too perfect! I’ve been taking a few leaves here and there, focusing on leaves that may be blocking light from reaching lower parts of the plant. Selective defoliation at this stage is key because it opens up airflow and allows light to penetrate deep, boosting energy distribution across the whole plant. Big, healthy leaves mean we’re getting excellent photosynthesis, but a gentle, strategic defoliation can guide that energy toward those developing buds. Hi! Thanks for checking out my Royal Dwarf grow! Please comment on how healthy you think the plant is or any thoughts. In less than 2 weeks I have learned so much from you guys and i want to make a point of thanking you as this medicine allows me to live what I would consider a normal day to day life! :) So... Beginning week 2 and from the first few pictures and videos I think the plant is getting healthier, Getting a ph meter this week also, will probably resolve any issues I think I'm having. Day 7/8 I was going to switch from the Vitalink Plantstart + Canna Rhizotonic schedule to Canna A, B, Rhizotonic and Cannazym. I have not gotten around to doing so yet as I think I've been overwatering the plant. stopped watering and started using the spray bottle to keep the moisture up. will water with the new nutrients once the plant has dried out a bit. Day 9: Transplanted from a 1L to a 19L/5Gallon, the top half of the 1L container was dry and had what looks like well developed roots and the bottom half was wet and the roots were hanging out when transplanting. I definitely should have let it dry out more. Day 10: Rhino pro 200/600 Carbon filter arrived and it's the 1100cfm/overpowered version as I read it was better to get a filter with a better CFM rating than what your fan can move. The fan is an Isomax 900cfm or is it m3/hr ? I added a short video after the pics so you can get a fairly good view of the setup. I got 5m acoustic ducting and connected it up as best I could with the space I had. I Was covered in rock wool, didn't have wire cutters and had to go buy some to finish the job 😅. Talk about a nightmare! I left 1mtr spare ducting for the intake fan in future grows. I think it's worth mentioning that the 6 fans on the back of my grow light are louder than the filter/ducting/fan/ducting (in order). Noise level of light and fan combo is between a really expensive/good quality bedroom fan and a hairdryer as a comparison. As I don't have my intake fan yet Im using passive intake and my fan has a 3 speed controller so I have it on speed 1 and there is negative pressure. Finally i mixed up the canna nutrients and changed ph from 7 to 6, I'm not sure what's ideal for autos but I read that anywhere between 5.8 and 6.3 is good for autos? Let me know! Day 11 (update) As I have now realised how to edit my weeks in the diary I will start doing so! Read that a fluctuating PH is good between 5.5-6.5 so I'm gonna stay at ph 6 and let it do its thing. The plant seems to like this a lot more than ph7 although it is still stressed from transplanting (1ltr-19ltr) it's still growing new leaves but growth appears slower. Finally after a few cold showers I have recovered from being covered in rock wool! (thank god😂) also I started a RQS Quick One as a backup for the dwarf and RQS Fast Eddy as Im eager to see if medical marijuana has a better effect on my depression, anxiety and sleep problems than regular high thc low cbd strains. Day 13- my dwarf still seems stressed from the transplant, its growing some new leaves slowly but is still drooping from transplant. gonna be a dwarf-dwarf by the sounds of it! 😆 and i was doing some research on optimal hang heights for my Phlizon "3000w" COB LED, it seems that 40 inches is good to start from. i also read another users opinion that the switch on the fixture labelled VEG&BLOOM is mixed up with the other switch that is labelled STRONGER. The VEG&BLOOM switch is LEDs along with IR. (i read that the IR is probably further stressing my transplanted dwarf) and the STRONGER switch is COBs. i took a minute to think about this but after realizing that the plants can probably handle the COBs (STRONGER) at the right distance i may aswell use them for veg and switch the LEDs and the COBs on 1 or 2 weeks before flowering for full flower power! after reading all that i went straight over and switched the LEDs off and put the COBs on. il post pictures in the morning to show how the plants reacted. fingers crossed people! Day 13 Update: took some photos and it likes the COBs, although they are very hot combined with a sunny day reaching high temps of 29c. turned the fan up and opened another passive intake on the tent. finally im going to get some calmag and a oscillating fan for the leaves and hot spots in tent :)

WEEK 6 (Day 36-42) My Runtz have now nicely adjusted to the flowering phase. The stretch is beginning, and the plants are slowly gaining height. However, I’m trying to keep them as small as possible since my space is somewhat limited at the moment. The two plants are in a dimly lit corner of my tent but currently receive 24-hour light because I still have other plants inside. I’ve already fertilized them a bit with everything. They’re still thriving beautifully.

This was a quiet week. The girls were recovering from their topping but were also flipping into flower. They have been getting water every two days and that seems to be an issue so I bought an auto watering drip system to install next week. The gorilla cookies is still the best grower out of the batch and really doing well. Excited to see the girl after some more training. This week marked the full transition into active bud development 🌸 The plant has completely finished stretching and is now focusing its energy on building buds and increasing resin production. • Final height stabilized around ~100 cm • Stretch fully completed • Energy directed into bud growth and trichome production Bud sites are now clearly developing across the canopy, though they are still in the early stages of stacking. Trichome production is steadily increasing, with a light frosty layer already visible on the sugar leaves ✨ Canopy management was adjusted this week. After a light defoliation in the previous week, additional leaves were removed and the plant was lollipopped to clean up the lower growth ✂️ Toward the end of the week, branches were gently spread apart using wires to improve light penetration.
