Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. Plants are fading slowly and naturally, I won't need to flush. Checking the trichomes every 4 days, the crop will probably need another 2-3 weeks. All plants are running on water now till the end. I haven’t been able to keep up with my diary as much as I would have liked to. Through week 6 a lot of pistils started to make a name for themselves. I defoliated when I watered them but was very worried I would lower my yield since they are autos and photos. The beginning of week 7 is when zkittles started to suck up tons of water! She also started to have her branches stretch up, I don’t know if this is normal or if she’s trying to tell me something. The following days is when the rest of the plants started to suck up a good amount of water fast too. I’ve been watering every other day one day with bloom nutrients the next with just ph’d water.

This is the 8th week. Thursday will be 9 weeks of 12/12. Some trichs are amber. They just added a good bunch of girth over the past few days, but most of the pistils are red now. The rest of them have been dropping leaves consistenly but the canopy remains full so they must be putting out more leaves. I just flushed to 80% runoff and found out that I had 1200ppm. I just got an ec meter but my last reading said closer to 600 so idk what happened there. I flushed until I had runoff ppm of about 150. Now they're back in the grow tent. I don't want to keep assaulting them with my microscope. I think they're ready. Just gonna let them settle another day or two to dry out a bit. I took one small branch off the small Wedding Cake plant on Thursday and I've just been watching it dry on my counter. It's been 5 days and the stem snaps but still leaves a fiber connecting. I put it into a small jar with a 64RH thing. I just want to try it. It already smells amazing. The leaves on the big CBD Blue Shark plant are going really yellow and some other colours are starting to come out as well. The buds all fattened up and got more frosty again. I was worried they were foxtailing but they got more calyxes underneath the peaks and have been making more of a pyramid shape. They're really close to peak. Harvest day will be March 17 or 18. March 17 1023pm chopped and hung after lights off all day. RH was 65% before I chopped and 50% after I closed the window and cut the plants off the saturated pots. I did a wet trim to prevent mold. The buds are sticky af. Gonna hang them to dry for 7-9 days before curing in jars :) March 18 : checked the RH when I woke up and it's chilling at 45% 😎 March 19 : just checked to see how they were drying. There are seeds in every plant. RIP I'll update when I put them in jars and again a few weeks later for final review. Overall it was a good grow despite the rocky start and a good introduction to the mainline technique and my new grow space. Next grow I should have everything pretty well dialed in. March 23 They were hanging for 3 days. Rh was around 45, then spiked to 65 overnight when I forgot to turn the fans back on. Temp was high at around 26.they felt wet after 2 days, and bone dry after 4 days. The stems still didn't snap but I put them in jars anyway. A day later, jar RH was 50%. I burped all the jars and there was a smell from the new jars. I took all the weed out, washed out the jars, and did a dry trim on the weed. One of the Wedding Cake plants must have gone hermie. I didn't see any bananas and didn't even realize there were seeds until the very end. The seed pods looked just like calyxes while the plants were growing. Many of the nugs are unusable. Under the sugar leaves are just layers and layers of seeds. Some weren't hit that badly. The CBD Blue Shark is much better off but still has some seeds. I'm trying to stay positive. It's a bit of a shock though. I'm anxious to try the finished product. If the flowers at least taste good and have a good effect, all is not lost.

Hat jetzt zumindest die Höhe aufgeholt, die Blüten sind noch nicht so weit entwickelt. Die Abstände sind aber hervorragend wie auch bei ihrer Schwester. Z-up #2 Zeigt immer wieder überdüngung an, aber entwickelt sich trotzdem super. Falls ich die hellen Blattspitzen falsch interpretiere, gerne was schreiben 😜 ph im drain ist 6,8 und ppm kommen bei gegoßenen 670 (hier habe ich die Nährlösung verdünnt) auf 1050ppm. Day 1 of week 7 in flower. Yesterday I opened the tent and for the first time thought to myself " Wow that's a big plant!". My grow tent is 1 meter by 1 meter and the plant is touching all sides. I am now wishing I had more wattage of lights. Day time Temps are 72 and humidity is around 35. My current LED wattage is 277 from the wall, let's see what it can produce. Time until harvest is 4 ish weeks and dropping. Judging by the speed at which the pistils are changing colors I am doubtful it's going to take 3.5 weeks to ripen. I am in no hurry, quality is my biggest concern.

2 1/2 litres of feed per plant every 48 hours Avge temp 80F avge Humidity 44% removed 600w LED left just the 900w too much light with both. The plants with both lights on went into overdrive, uptaking more water and expelling less, causing a big drop in humidity 35 and less, removing 600w light humidity went back to mid 40's. Useful to know if you have high humidity extra light can help reduce it, or so i'm thinking. Did some more light cropping.

This strain is very resistant of beginner mistakes. And very productive with no training or topping. So with a little training it's can be very good.

Final few days of life time to chop her down after a few days of dark

wonderfull colours and smell, plant is looking fine, i see another 2/3 weeks from now, for a full development of the buds. heavy and frequent rain occurring, didn't have to water so much, hope it get better from here to the cut. i am gonna decrease on the nutrients, to make them disappear in 10-15 days and a have a full week on just pure water. the quality of the smell is incredible, very sugar-candy like, not so citric.

Environmental Control: Slight increases in temperature and adjustments in humidity levels were monitored to ensure optimal growth conditions. These adjustments were crucial as the plants transition from seedling to more mature vegetative stages. Conclusion: The second week showed promising growth and stability across all strains. While minor issues were quickly addressed through targeted interventions, the overall health of the plants remained strong. Week 18 Day 120 (11/12/2020): I checked the girl’s trichomes and they are looking great. They are definitely getting more amber but still a small percentage. Also most of the pistils have browned now so I think she is about 2 weeks away from harvest now. So I will start the flush at the next watering! Day 121 (12/12/2020): The girl is looking good today but the leaves are going more an more yellow and crispy. Although I think during this time it is actually good news and I will be happy for her to take up all the nutrients left into the buds to make them extra tasty!🤤 Day 122 (13/12/2020)💧: Sooo this week is the start of the flush, just 1.5L of water. They are definitely ready for the flush and the buds are looking gorgeous! So gorgeous, in fact, that we cannot wait for the girls to be ready. So I cut some stems off to dry 🙊 We basically realised that they will not be ready and dry by Christmas (plus we would want to still cure them for min 2 weeks) and so I cut some of the smaller stems off to get some buds ready for Christmas celebrations 🎄 I only cut 1 stem off the girl and in the photo you can see how much smaller it is than the main buds. I’ve put the flowers into a box with holes in a room that has good airflow. I’ll also make sure to weigh and add it to the final dry weight. Day 123 (14/12/2020): Didn’t have time today to take pics of the girls but I’m sure they are fine 😉 Day 124 (15/12/2020): I swear the buds look fatter and fatter every single day that I check her. Looking great, smelling great, and will definitely taste great! Day 125 (16/12/2020)💧: Second flush of the week, great stuff. Just gave her 1.5L of water and ripped off some dry leaves. There are some stems at the bottom that are quite weak and cannot hold their weight. A lot of them have bent over and I don’t think they will get enough water to survive until harvest. At this point it is too late to cut them off but I have definitely learned to lollipop for the future! Day 126 (17/12/2020): What a great end to the week and just 1 more week to go! Buds are looking astonishing at this point. And I swear they are getting more and more red even though I thought they wouldn’t. The trichomes are developing beautifully as well, definitely harvest-ready in just a few days! And next week, I will be watering twice and probably harvest after the whole week is finished, so on Christmas day! What a great present 🎁

This is more Indica dominate, small bushy plant with lots of lower growth I did not lollypop this as well as I should have. The buds are surprisingly dense and a light mint green in color. I will try this again as I feel the strain has a high potential for rosin production. solid THC levels for an auto.
