Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. I used a macro lens from a fish eye kit you can buy for any phone to make that macro video, i highly recommend them it’s so easy to see when i can harvest , these are also very cheap but you do need a steady hand haha. I smoked some smaller buds about a week after harvest & it already tastes amazing almost like a reaalllyy sweet banana haha & the burn is good also i was suprised it was smokeable so fast. Fat banana is one of my favourite strains from now on! I also had 1 Sour Diesel in the tent but i’m still curing that one

This week I decided to recruit my husband to get a proper look at this girl's roots. She's gotten so damn big that it's impossible for me to get a shot otherwise. Her root ball is massive. She's large and in charge. I went through and gave her another thorough round of defoliation. What I removed was any droopy leaves in the underbrush, as well as any fan leaves that were casting shadows and blocking light from my bud sites. When I was finished, I was able to stand over my plant, look down, and visibly see through to the base of my plant and grow media. Being able to do this suggests to me that my light source is also able to penetrate down throughout the plant as well. The removal of these leaves also contributed to improved air circulation and decreased humidity - both which are important as we progress through the flowering stage. This week I also caught my first whiff of this plant's sweet aroma. I'm excited to see how her terps develop over the upcoming weeks! 😋😋😋 I cloned another branch off this plant. I started germinated these beautifull ladies on the 15th, All 5 are doing great showing there first leaves Only the weater is not the best right now but i have faith it will come alright

Day 43 and things are progressing well but I still have some time to make up if I'm going to stick to this year's planning and need to get this run done asap, I pulled the girls out and gave them a eco neem shower for preventative measures and I will flip them to flower by days end, hopefully they show no signs of nutrient deficiency I've encountered during flower while using up the old mega crop formula, I'm guessing it's a mag deficiency as Epsom salts seem to keep it in check. Any advice on this would be great. Stay safe and happy growing.

Start of week 5, everything is healthy. Most of the plants are short I’m guessing those are the ones thats grape ape dominant. Only 1 plant ( Z 1 ) is a fast grower. They are now under 750 watt hps for the rest of vegg. Last week of vegg. Then flower for 10 weeks.

This week I noticed a decent increase in height and I figured I should get LST started. I wanted to wait to transplant my ladies, but due to covid, my supply of soil is not here yet, and I can’t fill my 10 gallon pots for the transplant. I looked up online and people said you should be able to transplant the plant successfully by cutting the ties and ensuring you just don’t disturb the roots / medium. I went ahead and got started with LST and I accidentally snapped one of my plants main stems during the process. I mean literally snapped, could see the hollow centres, hanging by a thread of fibre. *so heart broke * I had read online e you can repair it with duct tape and that aloe Vera helps. I did not have duct tape handy but I got some aloe and used the ducting tape that came with my exhaust fan to try to secure it. Fingers crossed it’ll heal If I had some root stimulant I would’ve tried planting it but I don’t have any. I was wondering could that be a form of super cropping? Do you think it’ll just be like a really brutal attempt at topping the plant? Very curious about everyone else’s thoughts on this Pics are attached. Aside from that one my LST went well from what I can tell. I did not train my blue dream out of fear of wrecking my one plant of that strain. I also did not LST one of my mystery caramel due to the stem feeling the same as the one that snapped. The rest I tied down and attached photos can you guys tell me if it looks like I did it correctly ? Would love some feed back. All in all I feel like we are kicking off the week strong.
