Her growth this week was extraordinary. The extra hours of light works. I will continue her in veg for another 3 weeks. Hoping she is ready before the end of November.

Explosive growth through the week, flipping to flower at the end of this week as plants have reached their 2foot marker. 2 foot tall is my limit for vegetive growth as the plants become unmanageable beyond that.

Vege lights - Mars Hydro FC-4800 Flower Lights - 650w 3400K 1900umol/s PAR, (3) 226w DIY 2900K 630umol/s PAR (678w and 1890umol/s), Substrate - 50/50 sphagnum peat moss and vermiculite in 5-gallon pots Climate Control - Luckily, the lights, winter and normal furnace use all equate to a decent temperature, though a bit on colder side in in vege phase, sadly. Humidifier is needed early and later a dehumidifier is needed when canopy develops. I only grow in the winter months. Irrigation - do not use the emitters in this diary. They suck a big fat dick to skip a line to suck a bigger dick. The 1-gallon pots fit well under the FC4800 in a 4x4 tent until day 21 after sprout. I plant 150% or more of what i need, so i can kill the weak without concern. The goal is for every plant that makes it to the 5-gallon up-pot being capable of producing a minimum of 160 grams with a maximum of a 35-40 day vegetative phase. Third up-pot is into 5-gallon nursery pots and now under the 3 DIY lights and the 650W light in the big tent for a couple more weeks of vege. An irrigation system in the big tent saves a lot of time. One scrog for training and another for support, just in case. Reverting back to a more systematic approach to canopy composition moving forward. About 2.3 colas per sq ft and 8 primary colas per plant. Yields were similar when over-crowding and being less systematic, but the proportion of less dense nugs is greater and trim time is needlessly elevated because of that fact. I was very controlling about this the first couple years but got away from it for far too long at this point. Drying / Curing - Into mesh racks for 9 days. I wet trim and cut down to similarly sized buds for even drying. Temps are controlled around 68F and RH is set to 60%. Then into some 5-gallon buckets with gamma seal lids and (3) 2-way 67g boveda humidipaks (58% or 62%) in each bucket - 1 at bottom, 2 at top. Temp/RH probe confirms that they hold the RH steady at 60-63%. Cost - 0.33 cents (USD) per gram produced. This includes an accelerated depreciation expense for all equipment used, fertilizer, water, electricity for all equipment used, new filters and other yearly purchases - bti, ph strips, sticky traps, etc. I'm a finance guy, so these numbers are comprehensively accurate and purposely err slightly on high side of cost. The only facet not included is the cost of my labor.

I'm happy with the way she's turning out.. bud sites everywhere! Starting to smell skunky, but nothing overwhelming!

So far my confidence in this next go around is very high! 😃☀️ Putting the seeds straight into a jiffy pellet is the way I am going to proceed with germination going forward. You are just adding extra variables to what should be a simple equation (seed in sterile medium + warmth + moisture = seedling) unlike with the paper towel method, where you need to transfer them to the medium. But this is just one opinion of a rookie grower.

TROPICANA COOKIES FF / FASTBUDS This week she was harvested her buds are frosty looking dense nugs that smell of sweet goodness 😍 she made some purple buds and she had some green buds she didn't have any issues this grow stayed in veg until I flipped the light 12/12 only real thing to watch out for is when she's stretching she'll get tall on you quickly. This strain is very heterozygous. 4 seeds were started. The 4 phenos were very different. I saved 2 of those phenos for my arsenal, which is quite exceptionnal. I ususally save just one pheno from a strain. The Pheno #1 was mainly sativa (75%). Long branches. Lots of fluffy buds. The more resistant to mold, but it has to be with the fluffiness. The taste was cheesy and spicy, which has nothing to see with the 3 other phenos. Not a single ressemblance with ak-47 parents as well. It shares the musky undertones of the strain, but nothing else. That pheno is gone. Not enough potential. Terpene profile was deceiving, just as the cannabinoid content. The Pheno #2 has more indica in it (45% indica). robust and tall plant with dense heavy buds. No mold resistance at all. Biggest producer. The taste was earthy and musky with hints of wood. That pheno is gone. Not enough potential. The Pheno #3 is my favorite one. It reminded me of the good old Ak-47, with her flowery/sweet/skunky smell and taste. Pure nostalgia! Tall and quite robust plant with huge fluffy buds coated with trichomes. She grows pretty similar to Lemon Skunk if you know the reference. Great producer of top quality buds. So sticky! In my top 3 sativa for 2 years. The aroma is very close to the old school Ak-47: sweet, flowery and skunky. It tastes like sweet lemon on the inhale, with a sharp touch of spicy lavender and earth on the exhale. IMO, that is the pheno we want to save from that heterozygous strain. Backcrossing this one would be a very good idea. The Pheno #4 is just as interesting as my favorite #3. The only issue with this one is about mold resistance. Crazy compact and heavy budst! One of the most productive I’ve ever seen too. More traits of the Ak-47 in the aromatic profile, but nothing like the #3. On the structure side, we can immediately recognize the sturdy and bushy structure of Ak-47. THC content is very high too. I suspect the CBD content to be high as well. The effect is a mood elevation, with good focus and a deep body relaxation; a bit similar to what White widow does. The aroma is earthy and pungent. Very skunky and musky. It tastes very sweet and earthy on the inhale, with hints of skunk on the exhale. That pheno #4 expresses the best traits of the Ak-47 in its structure, while pheno #3 kept the aromatic profile.

I have checked the plants and one plant is now showing about 10% amber trichomes on old growth. New growth clear. Starting to see some nice colour changes across the canopy. Have fed them a weaker feed to start the week but included a microbe tea.

My Runtz plant is a sturdy one! It's got thick, strong branches and robust leaves, like it could handle anything. I bet this one would thrive outdoors. The leaves are a beautiful deep green, almost velvety. This plant just radiates health and vigor. I'm excited to see how it develops! This past week has been a whirlwind of work, leaving little time for anything else. My phone's camera roll is sadly neglected, with only a few snapshots to show for it. But finally, I'm finding a moment to catch up on my grow diaries. It's been exciting to see the progress, even if it's just through photos. I'm looking forward to documenting the next stage!
