- i'm back already! i decited to harvest today on day 93, there was about 5-10% amber so i din't want to wait any longer! - all pics are from right before/during/after harvest - the 2 lowest branches are trimmed up and drying in a brown paper bag, the rest is drying in my carboard box - i will be back with a harvest report and smoke report in about 10 days when everything is nice and dry. - added 3 videos at the end so check em out

Plants have stopped stretching completely and buds are stacking. Supposedly 41 days of flowering to go.

📆 Week 5, 19-25 May 2024 19-25 May - Observed and let the plant grow. 📑 The plant is very compact with big, wide leaves, typical with Afghan varieties. The spacing between nodes is a good 1”. What I do is tuck the big leaf under the developing branches rather than cut them off early in this stage, to help the plant produce maximum energy. I also snip very low sucker shoots that do not have a chance to keep up with the plant, which is only a few. This keeps all the growth focused on the top of the plant for now. The three girls are almost switching into flower, so this week i'll start with a low dosed flowering mix in terms of nutes Differences between the three are huge, there is no doubt that the three different environments we've put them in are definetely putting their mark on the growth and overall character of the plants. the signs of light deficiency on plant number 3 are showing clearly: its brittle and very wide spread, you can tell its looking for more light. Number #2 gets the most light and is hardly stretching at all. it seems like a crop of lettuce. Number #1 gets plenty light, not showing any signs of slowing down however i'm noticing that this one consumes less water (probably has to do with temp/RH levels being different due to the different lamp) than number #2. Probably should give #2 some more straight water because its consuming so much water and i do not want to overfeed it. I think #1 is doing fine and can do with a little less water, but with nutrients. #3 is hardly using any water it seems like, i'm thinking of moving it next to a radiator so it should be able to get a quicker absorbtion and vaporisation of water in its system, hopefully charging it with some more power. Just did some LST on day 29 as well, including removal of 2 leafs of both #1 and #2. Not sure if it should be considered defoliation though.. Don't think so ;) ------------ end of week 5: i've flushed plants #1 and #2 as seen on a video on youtube. the idea behind this is to flush out any leftover grow nutes and start with a clean slate when the girls transition into flower. as an added benefit i've discovered that it is much easier to maintain a beneficial VPD value when the earth is completely soaked once a week instead of watering it with smalller portions more often. The earth contains a lot more water and evaporates it into the climate, easily reaching a 60% RH without a humidifier in these fridges. I've even lowered the lamps to get the temps up, because the VPD was reaching values below 0.90.

These beauties are shaping up nice. The frost on some of them is crazy how much there is on them. They're definitely getting close, I'd say a couple within the next few days. Looking forward to harvest some to make some rosin and hash. All in all Happy

This week I transplanted my little Strawberry Banana girl to a Big Girl Bed-LOL. Seriously though, I transplanted her to a large garden bed as opposed to 5 gallon pots like I usually do. I wanted to give this plant all the room she need to grow her very best. I'm curious to see if having a larger grow area will produce a larger plant. I am thinking more room for the roots to expand. My plant did not grow very much in height but the width of the leaves did grow. Weather has been very nice here this week.

Plants are all doing well and growing fast. The lights are still a bit strong for these guys so I moved them lights up a bit. Fed with fairly strong veg mix, thena supplement and water only feed once they had dried, and then a strongv eg feed again at the end of the week. The plants are burning through Nitrogen very fast. The canopy is almost completely filled in. Once every hole has a node or two I will begin the flip into preflower. I defoliated heavily to increase the amount of light getting to the center nodes. By two days later the plants had bushed out quite a bit. I think one more week before Flip should suffice. The Maui clone has quite a bit more nodes than the seeds. But the seed plants have much sturdier and healthier looking structures. I am excited to see if any other phenos express themselves. The Maui clone has been a great version in previous grows,
