Někdo, kdo půdu otevírá, provzdušňuje, proměňuje a z obyčejného odpadu vytváří látku, ze které se rodí síla. Žížala Darwin ji nazval „střeva Země“. A nepřeháněl. Bez žížaly by se půda jen pomalu probouzela k životu. S ní dýchá, měkne, tmavne a sama v sobě nachází úrodnost. Práce, kterou nevidíš Žížala pracuje bez hluku a bez okázalosti. Prochází tmou, přijímá do sebe mrtvé listí, staré kořeny, zbytky kompostu i neviditelný svět mikrobů. A všechno, co projde jejím tělem, se vrací zpátky jiné. Už to není odpad. Je to temné, živé zlato. Vědci tomu říkají vermikompost. Staří zahradníci mluvili o černém zlatu. Je to hmota plná bakterií, enzymů a huminových kyselin; hustá paměť půdy, kterou rostlina přijímá s lehkostí. Žížala ti zadarmo připraví potravu, kterou žádná lahev nenahradí. Ale žížala nevyrábí jen výživu. Ona staví domov. Architekt podzemí Každý tunel, který po sobě zanechá, je drobný zázrak. Voda jím odtéká, když je jí příliš, a kořeny se netopí. Vzduch jím sestupuje hluboko do země a probouzí mikroby nahoře i dole. Půda díky ní nepůsobí jako mrtvá hmota, ale jako tělo, které se umí nadechnout. Půda bez žížal je jako město bez cest a bez kanalizace. Všechno se zastaví, voda uvízne, vzduch zmizí a život začne tiše slábnout. Žížala je neúnavný traktor v měkkém těle. Pracuje ve dne v noci. Nepotřebuje naftu, nekazí se, nevyžaduje servis. Chce jen stín, vlhko a potravu. Jak žížala myslí Žížala nepočítá fosfor ani nehledá dusík. Neskládá si plány, neměří tabulky. Dělá jednu prastarou věc dokonale: přijímá mrtvé a vrací živé. Potká kus listu? Promění ho v humus. Narazí na zrnko minerálu? Obalí ho životem, aby se stalo dostupným. Najde zhutnělou půdu? Otevře ji a dá jí šanci znovu dýchat. Nemá mozek jako my. Má instinkt starý miliony let. A ten instinkt často rozumí půdě lépe než všechny tabulky hnojiv dohromady. Co žížala potřebuje od tebe Tři prosté věci. Nic víc. A přesto na nich stojí celé podzemní království. 1. Tmu a vlhko. Žížala nesnáší světlo a sucho. Mulč je její střecha, její přikrývka i útočiště. Pod mulčem půda zůstává vláčná a klidná. Holá zem je pro ni poušť. 2. Jídlo. Dej jí pod mulč hrst posekané trávy, kousek banánové slupky, zbytky salátu. Ona je přijme a trpělivě promění. Nekrm ji chemií z lahve. To by bylo, jako bys živému motoru nalil palivo, které mu nedovolí dýchat. 3. Klid. Nerýpej do půdy každý týden. Nerozbíjej její chodby a tichou práci. Když půdu převracíš, trháš nejen žížalí cesty, ale i jemné houbové sítě. No-till není lenost. Je to úcta k životu, který pracuje pod povrchem. Žížala je test Chceš vědět, jestli je tvoje půda živá? Odhrň mulč. Když se pod ním mihne žížala, země ti odpověděla ano. Když tam není žádná, problém není v rostlině. Problém je v podmínkách, které jí dáváš. Žížala jako první mizí z půdy, která ztratila rovnováhu. A jako první se vrací tam, kde se život znovu usazuje. Je to tvůj tichý biosenzor. Zadarmo. Spolupráce tří králů Teď si to spoj. Rostlina posílá cukr houbě. Houba přináší rostlině vodu a fosfor. Žížala otevírá půdu, aby houba mohla dýchat, a tvoří humus, aby rostlina měla z čeho růst. Nikdo z nich nepracuje pro peníze. Pracují pro proudění života. A když se ten proud nezastaví, živí všechny. Ty nejsi šéf. Jsi správce krajiny v malém. Tvoje práce je chránit žížalu před suchem, rýčem a chemií. Aug 23: Lemon Cream Kush is doing fine. Aug 26: quite hot now (finally summer?) with a week of 30 C starting now. Upped water volume to about 9 L a day.

Progress is there. One of them is not doing so well but is starting to show a little bit of life. We’ll see where she is by the end of the week.

July 1: tied one down using 12 gauge wire. Soil might be a bit too rich for two of these three plants with the tied down plant being the best so far.

Growing multiple phenotypes side by side is one of my favourite parts of this project because every week nature reminds us that there is no such thing as a "correct" way for a plant to grow. Pheno B has chosen a completely different rhythm from her sister. While Pheno A stretches toward the ceiling with long internodes and a very expressive narrow-leaf structure, this lady prefers patience. She's shorter, more compact, and slightly behind in her overall flowering development, yet she's thriving under exactly the same conditions. Same room. Same lighting. Same nutrients. Same watering. Same training. The only thing that's different is the genetics expressing themselves in their own unique way. And that's exactly why phenotype hunting is so fascinating. 🌱 The 12/12 From Seed Journey For anyone joining this diary for the first time, welcome! Every plant in this project has been grown under a 12 hours on / 12 hours off light schedule from the day the seeds germinated. Rather than extending the vegetative stage, this method allows every phenotype to reveal its natural growth habits much earlier, making it easier to compare structure, stretch, flowering speed, and overall efficiency. Watching sisters grow into completely different plants while sharing the exact same environment is one of the biggest rewards of this experiment. Pheno B is proving that slower doesn't mean weaker—it simply means different. 🌿 A Compact Personality Standing at around 69 cm, she's noticeably shorter than her sister, but she's beginning to develop a personality all her own. Her internodes remain tighter. Her branching is beautifully balanced. The canopy is naturally organised, giving every future flower plenty of access to light without requiring much intervention. The overall impression is of a plant that's taking her time, investing in structure before committing fully to flower production. The first pistils are now multiplying across every growing tip, and although she's still stretching slightly, it's clear that flowering has become her main priority. Sometimes genetics prefer to build slowly before rewarding us later. This may very well be one of those plants. 🌸 Flower Production Is Taking Over This week marks an important shift. The explosive vegetative growth is beginning to slow, while clusters of fresh white pistils continue appearing across every branch. Instead of producing dramatic vertical growth, she's now directing more of her energy toward building the framework that will eventually support her flowers. Watching this transition happen is always exciting because it's the point where each phenotype begins revealing how it intends to build its harvest. Every week, her own personality becomes a little clearer. 🍃 Gentle Training, Natural Development Training continues to be intentionally minimal. Low Stress Training performed earlier in the grow has already created a balanced structure, so this week only occasional leaf tucking was needed to keep developing flower sites exposed. Rather than removing healthy leaves, I prefer allowing them to continue acting as efficient solar panels while simply repositioning them whenever necessary. Healthy leaves mean more energy. More energy means stronger flowers. Sometimes the best decision is knowing when to leave the plant alone. 💧 Feeding the Transition Into Bloom As with the rest of the room, Pheno B is now receiving a flowering-focused feeding program while still supporting the final stages of stretch. This week's nutrient schedule includes: • Plagron Terra Bloom • Plagron Power Buds • Plagron Sugar Royal • Plagron Pure Zym • Plagron Green Sensation • pH adjustment using pH Plus and Lemon Kick This week also introduces one of my favourite bloom additives: Green Sensation. When the environment stays stable, the plants can dedicate their energy to growing instead of constantly adapting. 📸 This Week's Gallery This week's photographs perfectly capture the personality that's beginning to emerge. The full-plant portraits showcase a compact, balanced structure with excellent branch spacing and a strong central leader that's quietly taking command of the canopy. Every branch has found its place naturally, creating a canopy that's both easy to manage and full of future potential. She's not trying to compete with her sister. She's simply becoming herself. Last week of flowering then switching to 12/12 light cycle. Put the other plant into a bigger pot. Roots looking healthy and plants are still loving the nutrients.

Day 55 - 18/11/19 i still think another 1-2 weeks for this one, getting a jewelers loupe for the beginning of week 9 so i can tell exactly where were at in terms of harvest :) anyone got any thoughts on this little plant? have a look at the photos and videos and let me know in the comments below :) oh and i finally nailed what this strains smell is - tropical hubba bubba gum with cheese :'D Day 59 - 22/11/19 Got my jewelers loupe 2 days ago and ive been having a look at them. its pretty hard to see for a newbie grower. ive looked at harvest guides online and seen pictures of clear, cloudy and amber trichomes. mine look mostly cloudy (60%) and slightly glassy (40%) with barely any ambers. i may be wrong but the reason i think its cloudy is that it looks white against the leaves instead of see through or like glass. so going on this for my first trichome inspection im gonna harvest in the middle of next week. Smell is getting strong enough to stink out a room, still that tropical cheese smell, although its just so pungent it lingers in the rooms after bringing it out of the tent to inspect it. smell isnt a problem if you put it back in the tent and spray some air freshener stuff in the next room. the carbon filter is doing its job exactly as described along with the fan. The fan leaves started to get yellow patches and sugar leaves starting to curl. and a friend thinks its nearing the end of its life. I flushed yesterday and will flush again today to drain out any excess salts and nutes. Thanks for following along. im excited for week 9! Happy Growing!

Harvest is imminent! I'm basically just waiting for her to drink her last watering. So 1-3 days I guess - my last few "finished" plants basically stopped drinking much at the end, and she seems to be the same. But my last post was about a week ago so one more flowering week report! A few days ago I took off some of the brittle taco-ified fan leafs. My guess is they don't do much for photosynthesis anymore and just prevent lower growth from getting light. Upper leafs by now have turned a pretty violet/plum color! I put a leaf from another plant in the picture for comparison.😊 Structurally there is little change since last week. Smell is still incredible too! She is significantly heavier than three weeks ago so the stems are losing the battle against gravity.. but as she's coming down in a few I'm not gonna go wild with jojos or garden wire. 🤷
