I finally have my new grow setup on hand and got the clones into their very own pots, and under lights! This clone was gifted by Buddabud, a fellow grower here on Grow Diaries, and a personal friend of my brother (The_Evil_Twin). I can’t wait for this baby to grow and produce some bud! Starting today I’m only giving regular water till I know everything is going alright. This baby is already mature and has about 9 branches/stems, and is 11 inches tall. I have it planted in a 2.5 gallon pot with Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil (which is why I’m not giving nutrients yet.) my new tent is 27x27x62 made by Spider Farmer. It’s small, but it will do just fine as a veg tent. I can’t wait to see how they’re going to smell in the coming weeks! Buddabud says it smells like blueberry muffins, just like the name suggests. Can’t wait!!

Time to feed the plants! My Blueberry Muffin is looking pretty good today. It’s adjusting to its new pot well, and no issues are evident just yet. I’m starting to feed nutrients today at the “Early Growth” stage so it doesn’t get too much too early. Feeding will be as follows to start: CALiMAGic 2.5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 10ml, and FloraBloom at 2.5ml. The initial pH was 6.34, so I didn’t bother with any pH UP or DOWN. The runoff pH was 6.14. I fed the plant the entire gallon of water, but about half of it drained out the bottom, so I drained it all away so that it wasn’t sitting in water. The temperature in the tent was 79.6 degrees F, and the humidity was 44%. It’s branch/stem development is doing much better that it’s Blue Ox tent mate, so I’m going to start some mild LST in order to start positioning the branches how and where I want them to grow. Some new leaves are also starting to grow as well. I plan on topping the plant after another set of leaves grow out so the plant doesn’t get too big. For now, everything is looking good. Hopefully it stays that way!!
15 May 2021
Today I’m going to keep feeding my kiddos the “Early Stage” feeding levels of nutrients. Last time, neither of them, the Blueberry Muffin or Blue Ox, took the whole gallon of water. Both had a substantial amount of runoff. So, today I’m making one gallon and plan on giving both half. Feeding went like this: CALiMAGic 2.5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 10ml, and FloraBloom 2.5ml. The initial pH was 6.27, so I fed that amount. No pH UP or DOWN was used today for adjustments. My TDS meter dried out and is functioning, so the TDS in was 982 ppm. Runoff pH was 6.05, and runoff TDS was 2588 ppm. Tent temperature was 84.4 degrees F, and humidity was 37%. My Blueberry Muffin is looking good. New stem and leaf production is going well. I wanted to start the LST the other day, but still haven’t gotten around to it, but I will eventually, soon.
17 May 2021
I’m a lazy bastard and STILL haven’t tied down my branches for the LST! My Blueberry Muffin is looking awesome though! She has developed some new leaves and stems, and is going to be ready for the flip sooner than I had hoped for. Which is great!! Mature plants! Got to love them. Feeding is still at the Early Growth stage, so here’s how it went today: CALiMAGic 2.5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 10ml, and FloraBloom 2.5ml. The initial pH was 6.39, so no adjustment was needed. The TDS in was 980 ppm. I fed 1/2 gallon, and there was still a good amount of runoff. Runoff pH was 5.89, and TDS runoff was 2535 ppm. Tent temp was 76.7 degrees F, and humidity was 40%. She’s a pretty plant and growing well and is healthy. I guess I couldn’t ask for more right now.
19 May 2021
Finally got around to doing the Low Stress Training today. I have all the branches spread out and tied down in order to be able to control how she grows from now until harvest. I’m cultivating her differently from my previous grow. Trying to put some lessons learned to use. Hopefully it works out well. Regardless, it’s going to be a learning experience. Today starts the 6th week of the vegetative stage. I believe I’m going to be able to flip her sooner than expected. Today I fed: CALiMAGic 2.5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 10ml, and FloraBloom 2.5ml. The initial pH was 6.50 and needed no adjustment. The TDS meter was 768 ppm. I fed half a gallon again and still had plenty of runoff. Runoff pH was 6.10, and runoff TDS was 2400. The tent temperature was 81 degrees F, and humidity was 42%. Solution was chilled to 50 degrees F. So far she’s growing well.
21 May 2021
Feeding time again. Blueberry Muffins is looking GOOD! All of her branches I tied down the other day have started to turn upward toward the light. My pH meter is on the fritz, but my records show that the solution hasn’t needed any adjustments since I started giving nutrients. I fed half a gallon of water chilled to 53.3 degrees F with the following: CALiMAGic 2.5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 10ml, & FloraBloom 2.5ml. The TDS was 842 ppm, and the runoff TDS was 2522 ppm. I decided to top the plant today and to try and clone the top myself. My history of cloning is 100% failure, so I’m not holding out much hope. Hopefully this arrests its upward growth for now.
23 May 2021
This little girl needs to CHILL OUT for a while and slow down her growth! It seems like she exploded in growth over night and is growing OUT (wide), and is getting bushy. I have 3, most likely 4 weeks left till I can move her into the larger tent, but I’m going to have to do something! Oh, she looks great by the way. I’m not increasing her nutes till I can flip her! I fed the same as I have been: CALiMAGic 2.5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 10ml, and FloraBloom 2.5ml. Historically the pH has been between 6.47 - 6.52 without adjustment, so I fed the solution with those nutrients in water chilled to 51 degrees F. The TDS was 762 ppm going in, and the runoff was 2561 ppm. Tent temperature was 80.6 degrees F, and humidity was 44%.
25 May 2021
Today is the last day of week 6 (2 of this diary), and I am going to flip the switch tomorrow starting the flowering stage in the smaller tent with just one light. It is getting bigger by the day, and I also noted some brown spots on the leaves which indicate a possible Calcium deficiency. The CALiMAGic will be increased in the next feeding, but I started giving the new amount today because of the spots on the leaves. I will harvest the DarkStar Kush in my large tent in 3 weeks, so I figure my Blueberry Muffin and her tent mate will do fine for the time in the smaller tent until I can move them. Other than the possible calcium issue, the plant looks great! I fed half a gallon of water chilled to 46.6 degrees F, and added FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 10ml, and FloraBloom 2.5ml. The initial/final pH was 6.6 and needed no adjustment. The TDS was 932 ppm going in. Runoff pH was 6.4, and TDS was 2701 ppm. The tent temp was 79.4 degrees F, and humidity was 53%. Projected harvest date is 09 July 2021. Can’t wait to see the colors and the smell!!
29 May 2021
I have been super busy and have neglected my little girls the last few days. I started the flowering stage (12/12 light schedule) yesterday, the 28th. I was going to start it on the 26th, but had trouble with the timer. I’m going to stick to my schedule though. Today starts the flowering stage feeding chart, and for this week I’m using the “Transition to Flower” amounts. The water was chilled to 41.5 degrees F, and I began feeding an entire gallon as well. I fed: CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 7.5ml, and FloraBloom 7.5ml. The initial pH was 6.7 and needed no adjustment. The TDS going in was 851 ppm. Runoff pH was 6.6, and TDS runoff was 1885 ppm. Tent temp was 75 degrees F, and humidity was 50%. I defoliated the living hell out of her today, and rearranged some of her LST points. I also cut some of the lower branches/stems to make the growth more controlled. I have enough to make several clones if I decide to do that. I’m still trying to make up my mind on that.
31 May 2021
My Blueberry Muffin is looking fabulous!! She has adjusted to her massive defoliation with ease and is looking BEAUTIFUL! I’m very pleased with how she’s doing. Both she and her tent mate are looking wonderful. I’m still using the “Transition to Flower” stage, so here’s what I fed: 1 gallon of water chilled to 51.2 degrees F, with CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 7.5ml, and FloraBloom 7.5ml. The initial pH was 6.7 and didn’t need to be adjusted. The TDS going in was 1054 ppm. She took the whole gallon and had plenty of runoff. The runoff pH was 6.5, and TDS runoff was 2237 ppm. Tent temp was 79 degrees F, and humidity was 44%.
02 Jun 2021
Today starts week 8, and the second week of flower. I’m going to start the “Early Bloom” stage of nutrients today since using the transition stage last week. She is growing wonderfully and developing several new branches and beginning to stretch. She was basically almost all purple from stress when I planted her, but while some purple still remains on some branches, she’s mostly turned green which makes me happy. For a while I thought that maybe she was supposed to be purple because of her strain, but obviously that’s not the case. Today I was going to give her another full gallon of water, but she didn’t need all of it, so she got about 90% of it. The water was chilled to 53.4 degrees F, and infused with CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 2.5ml, and FloraBloom 10ml. Initial pH was 6.7 and didn’t need adjusting. The TDS going in was 870 ppm. Tent temp was 74.7 degrees F, and humidity was 56%. Runoff pH was 6.5, and TDS runoff was 2343 ppm. She’s looking great!
06 Jun 2021
Feeding my Blueberry Muffin is weird (but not really). I was going to feed it on the 4th , then again on the 5th, but the soil was still moist knuckle deep. I’ve gotten so use to more frequent feedings for my DarkStar Kush that I forgot that even IT didn’t require as much water when it was smaller. I’ve had the solution ready and refrigerated since the 4th. It should still be fine to feed it to her (🤞). She and her tent mate are both looking wonderful! Both very bushy, green and healthy. I’m pleased with them so far! Still giving the early bloom levels of nutrients. I fed: CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 2.5ml, and FloraBloom 10ml. pH was 6.8, no adjustment needed. TDS going in was 842 ppm. Runoff pH was 6.7, and TDS runoff was 1977 ppm. Tent temp was 83 degrees F, and humidity was 55%.
13 Jun 2021
I have been so busy the last week that I have totally neglected my babies! I haven’t fed/watered my Blueberry Muffin or her tent mate in 7 days! Miraculously, you can’t even tell. The stretch is on, and BBM is looking great! Lots and lots of bud sites all over the place. She is growing quite a bit more than her tent mate too, and is kind of overwhelming her with her branches. Anyway, enough about all that. I’m continuing to give the “Early Bloom” stage of nutrients for this week. I fed a gallon of water chilled to 52.5 degrees F (she took about 90% of it), with CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 2.5ml, and FloraBloom 10ml. The initial pH was 6.8, so I didn’t adjust it at all. The TDS going in was 924 ppm. Runoff pH was 6.7, and TDS runoff was 1559 ppm. Tent temp was 79 degrees F, and humidity was 44%. She’s looking great, but I believe I’m going to have to do some more LST or maybe even HST to keep her under control.
19 Jun 2021
I’m surprised that my smallest babies are still alive! I pulled my hamstring and hurt my back last Tuesday, and I haven’t done much of anything since then. Today I knew I had to grin, bite down and just do it. Blueberry Muffin is looking a little dried out, and suffering from some heat, but no REAL damage has been done. Two of her longest stems were about 6 inches taller than all the others, so I did a little High Stress Training (HST) today. I squeezed the stems flat for approximately and inch, then slowly bent them over to be the same height as the rest. It was my first time implementing a HST technique. Hopefully I didn’t screw it up and they end up dying! I’m advancing the feeding stage to the “Mid Bloom” stage. I gave a gallon of water chilled to 51.4F, and added CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraGro 2.5ml, and FloraBloom 12.5ml. The initial pH was 6.8 and was not adjusted. The TDS going in was 963 ppm. Runoff pH was 6.5, and TDS runoff was 1648 ppm. Her buds are forming very well, and are very numerous. She has stretched quite a bit, but I don’t know if it’s done, or is going to continue. Hopefully she will look a little more chipper tomorrow since she was fed today. I’ll keep my fingers crossed 🤞.
24 Jun 2021
Once again, I have been a neglectful grower. I was suffering from my hamstring and back pain longer than expected. That shit sucks! Once I felt a little better I needed to harvest my first plant. I never realized how much work that would entail.
My Blueberry Muffin is still looking wonderful, despite my neglect (lucky me), and now she has a new home! I was finally able to move her to the large tent with better light, ventilation, and most importantly, space. I’ve advanced her feeding level to the later Mid Bloom stage. I fed her 1 gallon of water chilled to 56.5F. I added: CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, and FloraBloom 15ml. The initial pH was 6.0, so I added pH UP 2ml which adjusted the pH to 6.3. The TDS going in was 990 ppm. The runoff pH was 5.8 (lower than usual), and the TDS runoff was 2086 ppm. The tent temperature was 81F, and humidity was 39%. My attention is no longer divided in 3, now it’s just 2.
27 Jun 2021
My Blueberry Muffin is looking pretty good. She has plenty of buds that seem to be growing a little more every day. She has adjusted to her new home well. Today I decided to do a little defoliation, as well as remove several smaller limbs hanging down around the bottom of the plant. On my first plant I let them all grow as much as they could, and many produced some nice bud. It wasn’t as dense as those at the top, but it was bud. The bad thing is that most were very small when I got them trimmed and ended up being left in the trim bag. I’m not going to do that again. I figure that less on the bottom means larger, denser buds at the top. I could have taken more leaves off, but I thought I had better not push it too much. I kept with the mid-bloom feeding stage for now. Today I gave a gallon of water chilled to 45.7F and added CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, and FloraBloom 15ml. The initial pH was 6.3 and was not adjusted. The TDS going in was 856 ppm. The runoff pH was 5.8, which is much lower than usual. Normally my pH given is about 6.7-6.8, and the runoff closer to that given. Maybe I should keep it that way. The TDS runoff was 2701 ppm. The tent temp was 84F, and humidity was 47%. On another note; it looks like some of the limbs I took before switching to flower are actually growing roots! So it looks like I’m going to have several more Blueberry Muffin diaries in my future.
01 Jul 2021
The harvest for my first plant is all done and documented! Yea!! My Blueberry Muffin looks fabulous. Her buds are starting to get frosty and grow, grow, grow! She looks great, and she’s still doing a little bit of a stretch, but it’s slowing down some. She’s still way bigger than her tent mate (Blue Ox), but still way smaller than my first plant. I have a feeling that if she doesn’t produce a lot, it will be my fault since I haven’t been giving her as much care as she really needs. I’m going out of town for the holiday weekend, so maybe they’re used to going without long enough that there won’t be any issue. I’ll keep my fingers crossed 🤞just in case. In feeding, I’m sticking with the Mid-Bloom stage for at least another week, then maybe I’ll adjust them some. Today I gave CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, and FloraBloom 15ml mixed into a gallon of water chilled to 42.2F. The initial pH was 6.6 and didn’t require adjustment. The TDS going in was 842 ppm. Runoff pH was 6.1 (better than the last time), and TDS runoff was 2548 ppm. We’ve been having a heat wave here, so the temp is creeping up in the grow tent. Today it was 86F, and the humidity was 48%.
03 Jul 2021
My Lady is looking lovely today! I can see by looking at her HST branches that she’s still into the stretch just a little bit because they have increased in height since the other day when I first made a mental note of how they were lying on the top of my support net. Today they are resting about 2 inches above it. Now that growth has been since I put her in the big tent with the net of course, so that was on the 30th just a few short days ago. Some of her leaves are showing some issues, but just on the side with the rotating fan. I’m wondering if it could be drying them out some, and not a deficiency because there are no other issues anywhere on the plant. The same goes for her tent mate, so by rule of deduction it has to be the fan. Maybe I’ll lower the power a bit when I get back? I’m going to be gone for a few days and I don’t want them to get too hot in case the heat wave doesn’t let up. I received one of the new nutrient supplements I ordered and started using it today with the nutrients already in use. Today I fed a gallon of water from the tap. Due to time constraints I didn’t chill it. I fed CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 7.5ml, FloraBloom 15ml, and started Floralicious Plus 1ml. The initial pH was 6.3 and was not adjusted. The TDS going in was 1242 ppm. The runoff pH was 5.9, and TDS runoff was 2777 ppm. The tent temperature was 79F, and humidity was 53%. Hopefully the Liquid Kool Bloom will have arrived by the time I get back!
7 Jul 2021
I’ve run into a little problem. It’s not really a problem, but more of a decision I need to make. The funny thing is, even as I write this, I haven’t completely made up my mind. I ordered some new nutrient supplements, and as I was doing the research on how to best use my new nutrients, I came across some information that made me stop and say, “Huh?” Note the question mark at the end? I found a new feed chart on General Hydroponics website that is SPECIFICALLY made for the exact nutrients I’m using. Every last one of them. The thing is, is that it is ONLY for the nutrients I am, and have been using since I started growing. It’s not a long time seeing how I’ve only harvested one plant so far, but still… I’ve been using them for months! The specific feed chart is their 6-part feeding chart, which happens to be for the 6 that I use. The feed chart I have been using has a whole bunch of nutrients that I don’t use as well as the ones I do. Also, the strengths on the one I’ve BEEN using is way stronger than what this new (and more precise) feed chart recommends. Even the “Aggressive Feed” uses less than I have been to this point. Maybe that’s why the runoff is always so much higher. 🤔 Decision is made! I’m going to start using the new chart that is specifically made for my nutrients. This is going to be the first time I’ve ever shared an entry with another diary. I have been feeding my 2 current plants the same solution mix (different gallons), so to address the change, this note is going to be copied and pasted to both notes today. However, I will also include individual notes for each plant.
Blueberry Muffin is still alive, and actually looks pretty good considering that she has been neglected time and time again. The leaves in the back facing the tall circulating tower fan are looking dried out and ragged to a certain degree. The surrounding buds look fine, but the leaves on that side look ugly. There isn’t anywhere else to put the fan where it will blow on both plants in the tent, so I decreased it’s intensity and readjusted the smaller fan in the front to provide more air flow. As mentioned above, I’m going to start using a different feeding chart and adjusted the nutrients accordingly. Today she was given 1 gallon of water chilled to 50.4F with CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 4.7ml, FloraBloom 8.5ml, Floralicious Plus 2ml, and Liquid KoolBloom 2ml. The initial pH was 6.8, and wasn’t adjusted. The TDS going in was 754 ppm. Runoff pH was 6.5, and TDS runoff was 1993 ppm. The heat wave we’ve been having had the tent hot today at 86F, and humidity was 38%. I promise to be a better grower for my babies from now on! No more trips scheduled, no more (known) reasons to neglect them. Hopefully they continue to do well.
10 Jul 2021
Today I decided to do something that I should have done a while ago, but didn’t believe it was necessary. I was wrong! I have only grown one full plant and a solo cup clone from that first plant. I erroneously believed that I could tell where a plant was in its development by comparing it to my first plant. Evidently, different strains grow differently, and look different when they mature. Looking at my Blueberry Muffin’s buds, they are different than my DarkStar Kush’s buds did. From that, I assumed that it still had a way to go till harvest.
Today I took pictures of her trichomes and was flabbergasted to see that she IS READY for harvest! 😳 All of her trichomes are milky, and there are more amber colored trichomes than my DarkStar had. Too bad I took the pics after I fed her today, or I would have started the flush today! Quite honestly, I’m shocked!!
She got the normal nutrients today. A gallon of water chilled to a mild 60.8F, with CALiMAGic 5ml, FloraMicro 4.7ml, FloraBloom 8.5ml, Floralicious Plus 2ml, and Liquid KoolBloom 2ml. The initial pH was 6.8 and was not adjusted. The TDS going in was 814 ppm. Runoff pH was 6.2, and TDS runoff was 2484 ppm. I have a lot of flushing to do!! The tent temperature was 84F, and humidity was 45%. I didn’t expect to harvest her this soon, but according to her profile on Humboldt Seed Company’s website her flowering time is only 45 days. That would have made her harvest date July 9th; yesterday! I guess they do know better than I!
12 Jul 2021
Today I started flushing my dear beloved Blueberry Muffin with properly pH’ed water chilled to 57.3F. The initial pH was 8.5, so I added 20 gtts (roughly 2ml), which adjusted it to 6.1. Too low for Me normally, but it’s just water. Hopefully those words won’t be thrown back into my face. Anyway, the runoff pH was even lower at 5.5, and the TDS runoff was 2307 ppm. The temperature in the tent was elevated today at 88F due to our recent heat wave. Humidity was 53%. I don’t have much else to report today, except that I hope I haven’t screwed this up! Till next time.
14 Jul 2021
The plant is still looking lovely, and her buds look wonderful. I’m continuing with the flush of properly pH’ed water chilled to 46.3F. My initial pH was 7.7, so I added 15 gtts (1.5ml) of pH DOWN which adjusted the pH to 6.2. I’d like it to be higher, but working with pH DOWN is so much harder than pH UP! The TDS going in was 75 ppm. Our heat wave is still going strong, and the temperature in the tent was 88F with humidity at 44%. The runoff pH was 5.3, and TDS runoff was 1897 ppm. That’s a reduction of 410 ppm from the watering on the 12th. At this rate it’ll be next week or later till I can harvest. If it does, I may end up harvesting sooner and curing longer. 🤷♂️ I’ll have to wait and hope I guess.
16 Jul 2021
I’m continuing with the flush today, and I’m beginning to think I should start flushing more often, yet I don’t want to damage the plant. At this stage of growth I don’t know if overwatering is as detrimental as it is to a younger, less developed plant. I want to harvest it before she gets too far along in her trichome development. She was clearly ready when I checked them on July 10th, and I don’t want her to get much farther along. Today I’m giving water at tap temps because at this point I don’t believe it matters. Everything I’m deciding to do is purely by instinct and trial and error. I feel like a researcher working on viable material that has a known outcome in general, but getting to the final stage (harvest) is detrimental in how the individual works the issues, or problems, and prepares for a desired outcome. Only each strain is different, and learning to adjust to those differences is the learning process. I never knew that growing weed could be so much fun, or as stressful! But I dig it!
Today she received a gallon of water with an initial pH of 7.7. I added pH down 5 gtts (.5ml), which adjusted the pH to 6.4. TDS going in was 91 ppm. Runoff pH was 5.9, and TDS runoff was 1407 ppm. Temperature in the tent was 84F, and humidity was 60%. There was a 390 ppm reduction from the last watering 2 days ago. At least it’s moving in the right direction.
18 Jul 2021
The flush is going well as you’ll be able to see once I post my numbers a little later in this note. Her buds are still looking awesome, and she still looks healthy for the most part. Her leaves on the fan side still look dried up on the edges, but not completely dead. Since it’s happening on both of my plants in the same location, the cause was easy to surmise as I’ve noted it before. I’ll be ready for harvest in about a week or less, and then her tent mate will be left alone for a while. Today she was given a gallon of water chilled to 57.2F with an initial pH of 8.0. I added 8 gtts (>1ml) of pH DOWN in 2 separate increments to adjust it to pH 6.7. The TDS going in was 80 ppm. The runoff pH was 6.1, and TDS runoff was 784 ppm. That’s a reduction of 623 ppm since the last flushing/watering. So I’m down into the 3 digit realm now, so hopefully it won’t be too much longer! She smells like blueberry muffins! I’m not even kidding a little. Like blueberry muffins. I’ve never seen a better named strain ever!
20 Jul 2021
Flushing continues in my grow room today. I swear this part takes so long and is so frustrating. I only have myself to blame, but all is still good. She is ready for harvest, but I still need to finish this up first. The TDS runoff shows that the level is still dropping, just not as fast as I’d like it to be. Today I chilled a gallon of water to 57.7F, then got her ready to give my baby. The initial pH was 8.1, so I added pH DOWN 10 gtts (1ml), which adjusted the pH to 6.8. The TDS going in was 74 ppm. Runoff today: pH 6.3, and TDS 658 ppm. Our heat wave is still kicking hard, so the tent temperature was 88F, and humidity was 49%. I’m still hoping to harvest in a few days to a week from now. It all just depends on the flush. I didn’t bother with any pics today. Mainly because the lights went off as I was finishing up and figured there aren’t any changes from 2 days ago to bother. However, today ends a week, so the next will be a fresh week, so I’ll take pics then.
22 Jul 2021
Flush, flush, flush. Continuing the flush today, but it’s slow going. My buds look darker, and I’m afraid to take more trichome pics for fear to see my time management blunder. She’s been ready for harvest for the past couple of weeks and the TDS has dropped down considerably, but it’s still not ready. Today starts week 15 of a grow that should have taken less. 🤷♂️ Oh well, eventually I’ll get everything perfect! Today she got a gallon of water chilled to 59.3F, that had an initial pH of 8.1. I added a total of 14 gtts, or close to 1.3ml of pH DOWN in 2 increments which adjusted the pH to 6.7. TDS going in was 69 ppm. The runoff pH was 5.9, and TDS runoff was 619 ppm. Just a small change in the runoff TDS level today compared to previous days. If the TDS runoff maintains this small level of drop after the next watering then I’m going to begin the harvest since it will seem like I’ve hit the bottom of what I can expect to flush out. If it drops more, then I’ll have to think more on it to decide exactly when to harvest. So far she’s still looking pretty good.
25 Jul 2021
This is a late entry for Sunday, July 25th. I went out of town that day and didn’t get the entry written or uploaded till today. I was hoping to be in the middle of the harvest right now, but still haven’t gotten started. It just goes to show that the best laid plans are sidelined by life’s unexpected issues! She is still looking wonderful, but I want to get her harvested before it gets too far past the perfect time. On Sunday I gave her a gallon of water chilled to 43.7F with an initial pH of 8.5. I added 15 drops (gtts) of pH Down (1.5ml), which adjusted the pH to 6.4. The TDS going in was 69 ppm. Runoff pH was 6.4, and TDS runoff was 535 ppm. The tent temperature was 82F, with humidity was 54%. I’m going to flush again today to see what the TDS runoff is. If it’s lower than the 25th, then I will determine if I should continue. If it’s about the same as before, then I’ll start the harvest. We’ll see in about an hour or so what the new numbers are.

Today is the last time I’m going to feed this Lady. She’s had enough time, and she’s ready to give up her buds!! I flushed again today to get one last look at her to see if she’s ready, and I believe she is. Today she got a gallon of chilled water (56.4F) that had an initial pH of 8.4. I added 15 gtts (1.5ml) of pH DOWN, which adjusted the pH to 6.7. The TDS going in was 74 ppm. The runoff pH was 6.4, and the TDS runoff was 484 ppm. I believe that that is enough, and I’m going to start my harvest tomorrow. I took some more pics of her trichomes and they are still looking awesome! The temperature in the tent today was 82F, and humidity was 45%. I’m really looking forward to what comes next!! Harvesting my second plant!!!

I have finally harvested my Blueberry Muffin. It’s about damn time! This note is just to let the 3 Growers following this diary, or anyone else who may be interested in this lovely plant that this will be my last update till the harvest is completely done. At which point I will complete the Harvest entry to end this diary. Stay tuned!

HARVEST DAY!!
I want to start by thanking Humboldt Seed Company for producing the seeds that created this marvelous plant! Absolutely awesome genetics! 🏆🏆🏆 First rate quality product through and through!! I also want to thank fellow grower, and friend, Buddabud, for gifting me this wonderful clone that grew so well! Thanks brother!

Today I finally harvested my Blueberry Muffin plant from Humboldt Seed Company. This plant has been a learning experience in many ways. Don’t worry, I’m not about to start listing everything here. That’s for me and my knowledge toolbox.
I was able to cut down the entire plant in about 20 minutes, and get all her buds stacked quite nicely on a single foil covered cookie sheet. This was a change because my first plant had to be done over two days due to its large size. This was easy by comparison!
28-29 Jul 2021
I trimmed all of the buds overnight. ALL NIGHT! So in the morning I was able to get the wet weight done before hanging my beautiful buds up to dry. I’ll cover the weight all at once later on.
I was much smarter with my trim as well this time around. Once I had the all of the buds hung up in the large tent to dry, I took all of my trim and spread it out on the foil covered cookie sheet that once held the trimmed bud and stuck it outside to dry in the sun. I went out several times over about 4 hours and mixed the trim up so it would dry evenly. Once it was all dry, I took out any of the larger leaves and threw them out. The total weight of my dry trim was 1.355 ounces. Can’t wait to make some edibles out of that. Even the trim smells like blueberry muffins!
Fast forward 7.5 days.

I left the bud hanging to dry from early morning on July 29th to late afternoon on August 5th. She looked wonderful!
I took all the bud down and prepared to get the weight of the harvest. Now, if this is the first diary of mine that you’re looking at, allow me to explain my weighing method.
First, I trim all of my bud to prepare it to hang up to dry. Once it’s all trimmed, I weigh it to get the weight of the bud wet. I weigh it while it’s still on the branch/stem so it can be hung up to dry. Once it is dry, I weigh it again the exact same way so that I can see the exact change in weight from wet to dry. After I do that, I separate all the bud from the branches and stems and then weigh it again for the TRUE weight of the harvest. My weights went as follows:
Trimmed, wet bud on branches = 7.92 oz (224.528g)
Trimmed, dry bud on branches = 2.862 oz (81.136g)
Actual HARVEST weight (buds alone) = 2.17 oz (61.518g)
I must admit; I have no idea if this is a good harvest or not. This is only my second full harvest, and my first plant was an absolute beast that yielded 7.91 oz of DRY bud! This plant weighed 7.92 ounces WET! To go from one plant yielding 7.91 ounces to another giving me 2.17 ounces is a big difference!, but I know that my first plant was unusually large!
Next I put all the loose bud into quart sized mason jars with individual hygrometers inside to keep track of the humidity while I cure the bud. I’m thinking of switching them to pint sized jars because it only filled two quart sized jars up about half way. What I’ve read says that you should fill the jars up to about 75% capacity to properly cure it. I don’t know if only being a little more than 50% full is going to effect the cure or not. 🤷♂️ I’ll figure it out eventually. (*I just went ahead and switched to pint sized jars which filled 3 jars 75% full as recommended.)

This plant produced challenges for me the whole step of the way! Mainly because it started out as a clone, and not from a seed. My only previous experience was growing a plant from a seed, and cultivating it to maturity. As a clone, this beautiful plant was already mature from the start.
My mistake was not recognizing it from the beginning which made my feeding plan a jumbling mess! I was feeding as if it was maturing slowly, but it was already mature. I also didn’t take into account the proper flowering time as documented by the seed company.
[ * For anyone actually reading this… IF the seed company says that their strain takes a specific amount of time to flower; TRUST THEM!!! THEY know better than YOU!]
With my very limited experience, I had difficulty in identifying a plant that was ready for harvest on sight alone. However, I was smart enough to recognize that she WAS ready once I looked at her trichome development. Under the microscope, her true beauty was revealed, and I was shocked!
I went from giving her mid-bloom nutrients to flushing in a period of 5 days! Needless to say, it all turned out well enough in the end.
This was an absolutely beautiful plant! Her smell is amazing, and is the most aptly named strain I have seen or smelled so far. She smells like blueberry muffins! Her buds almost took on a uniform pinkish, blue/purple hue at the tops of her buds, and a lighter mix on the lower branches. Her dry buds are tight and compact, and show the mix of green, and pinkish/purple colors throughout. She has some nice large nuggets, but even the small ones share the same colors, smells, and dense quality.
I’m very thankful that this plant gave me three clones that rooted, and are growing well. Check out my Blueberry Muffin Trio grow diary if you’re interested.
I plan to cure it for at least two weeks before trying it for the smoke report. So, for now, this concludes the grow diary for my Blueberry Muffin by Humboldt Seed Company. It has truly been both a challenge, and a pleasure growing this strain!

OFFICIAL SMOKE REPORT
Apparently my wife did not approve of my timeline and insisted that I “grind some of that sweet smelling weed so we can try it!” She didn’t want to wait, so of course…. Happy Wife, Happy Life!
Let me start by saying, that this is the best smelling weed I personally have had the chance to smell. Granted, I admit my limited experience in time smoking weed, but I have hardly ever smoked the same strain more than just a few grams worth at a time. This beauty doesn’t really smell like marijuana as we normally think of it. It smells like ground up fruit, berries, but with weed texture. It’s really awesome!
Oh! By the way, my mind is ABLAZE right now while I’m writing this; so forgive any mistypes or other hair brained foolery.
Back to the smoke report.. It tastes like blueberry muffins. There, I said it. But, it’s totally true! It also tastes fruity, sweet, with a earthy sweet finish. It is super smooth! FYI, both my wife and I are non-smokers, and it is SmOOOth! Very pleasant. If you rub your tongue on the back of your teeth at the exhale you can taste the blueberry muffin clearly. It’s same grade A tasty bud!! 🏆
It smells great! It tastes great! But how does it make you feel you may ask? Allow me to tell you a tale…
I was sitting on my deck with my wife, and after a couple of hits, she looks at me and says, “Maybe it will be better in a couple of weeks.” At that moment I was thinking the same thing.
Then it started….. slowly at first, very slowly. You feel it first right in the middle of your forehead. The best way I can describe this is: Try to imagine your head is hollow and is being filled by (who knows, but I’d like to image water, or light.) something, pouring into you through your forehead. You feel it filling you up from the chin, until your hollow head is full.
Then it’s a watershed, all over your body, running down the neck, to shoulders, arms, and a wave over your whole body to the toes. My wife was reclining back in her chair and described it as connecting her brain to her whole body, and she could feel every small sensation all at once. I concur!
I am chilled the Fuck out! All my pain is gone; and I live with pain daily. Weed, and a one a day Celebrex are my only pain treatment. My mind is, as I mentioned at the beginning, ABLAZE!! I could tell you how many times I’ve had to stop making this sound like an adventure novel, but believe me, I’m stopping and thinking of shit as I write this and I’m just trying to keep it coherent. If you like weed that sets your creativity ablaze, then look no further! Wow! This is some good shit!
I keep telling myself that it has only been curing for three, yes, 3 days! It’s just going to get better!! I can’t wait, and I’m so glad that she gave me three healthy clones that are growing well right now!
This concludes the smoke report. I think. I still have to proofread and edit, and ….. You all know.
Thank you for taking the time to review my grow diary for this wonderful plant! Happy growing everyone!!
