Microscope shows the telltale amber in some of the trichomes :). Did a full system clean with H2O2, long rinse, and the new solution is just pH balanced water and FloraKleen. Some crispy leaves at the moment but I'm not worried. Harvest is coming soon! Next post will be a harvest post and early smoke report 🙃

11/21/24 Short facts: - Watered: 1 x 0.75L, 1 x 0.75L, 1 x 1.5L, 1 x 1.75L — 4.75L - VPD @ 1.4 — raised by 0.1 - Light @ 80% ~700 to 1050 PPFD - BioBizz Bio-Bloom increased to 3ml/L - BioBizz Bio-Grow increased to 3ml/L - Getting colder! At night between 18 to 19°C --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There isn’t much to report this week. She’s doing fine, buds are getting bigger and thicker! Since the weather is getting quite cold for the region - and we’ve already had a bit of snow - the cellar where my grow tent is set up is cooling down, with nighttime temperatures dropping to 18–19°C. Therefore, I’ve ordered some heat mats, which should arrive tomorrow. I’m aiming to stabilize the root temperature at around 22°C consistently, so the nights won’t be too cold anymore. I’ll go into more detail in next week’s update.

Start of Week 11 - Day 71 07/12: It seems as if Annie’s stretch is slowing down. She’s now at about 30” tall and she has a lot of colas poking out from her base. Aaliyah and Alexis have stopped their height at 34”. Alexis’s buds are starting to get bigger. The buds in Aaliyah’s main cola are starting to connect and are also getting bigger. Aaliyah’s bigger buds are also getting coated in trichomes. The smell is still pretty minimal. Based on the visual changes it appears that Alexis is about a week behind Aaliyah and Annie is about three weeks behind Aaliyah. Since this is my first grow I’m not too sure on harvesting time, but I’d say Aaliyah will be ready first and she still has a few weeks left in her. They are losing some leaves closer to the base, but they are looking amazing overall. It’s hard to believe it’s been 70 days since I put the seeds in water. Time really flies. 07/16: Playing the waiting game and it isn’t easy, but it will be worth it. The ladies are at different stages of flowering, so I’ve decided that next week I’m going to start giving them different doses of nutrients.

Transplanted to 40l container on week 4 day 1. Container has approx 30l in it. Also added a photo of the setup for size reference. Let me explain my thinking behind the repotting strategy. Firstly I should say that I am quite an old school kind of grower, although I've never grown cannabis before I have grown hundreds of other plants. Due to my experience with other plants, I understand the value of well planned and executed transplants, they can have an absolutely transformative effect upon root systems when done properly, as far as I know it's the main reason why they are done at all. It is fair to say I have never grown any auto-flowering plant indoors before, and I have read all about how you should not transplant autos, and all the good reasons why not. Ultimately though, as I am not called UnorthadoxDude for nothing, I believe that I can make it work with an auto, and get the benefit of improved root growth pattern, without delaying or interrupting the growth. I want to have my cake and eat it, as it were. So the strategy is to avoid transplant shock, which admittedly I have already failed in the first unplanned transplant, but in my hopeful naivety I still believe I can make the second one work! I'm using coco, and I have had the larger pot prepared and have been watering and feeding them as well as the plant. If I am careful not to disturb the plant at all, and move the entire contents of the pot gently into the larger pot (which is exactly the same medium in broadly the same state), then I may be able to avoid shocking the plant and just let it crack on. We will find out in a few days! If it stops growing or slows at all then I failed, otherwise it worked! A note about my use of organic nutes with coco. I have read a lot about coco and nutes and microbes and PH and TDS and what have you, and I know that the overwhelming majority of people believe that you can't or at least shouldn't use organic nutes with coco. The thing is, I like organic gardening, I prefer to cultivate a beneficial microbiota and keep it healthy. I recycle, and reuse all my compost except where a plant is diseased and this has worked well for me for a long time. I've never grown with coco before though, I always used soil. I wanted to gain the benefits of coco (better drainage, more air to roots, lighter, less inviting to pests, etc) - but I wanted to use a method of nutrition that I was already familiar with. I think I've mentioned that I am not called UnorthadoxDude for nothing, so I am using BioBizz and coco. By adding bacterial, mycorrhizal, and trichoderma inoculants and having the unplanted coco in the tent being fed and watered I hope to have cultivated a nice microbiota which will feed my plant. That's the theory. However just in case, I have a trick up my sleeve. Now, I do not know if you are aware of this, but there is a fiery debate raging on the internet about using BioBizz organic nutes with coco for cannabis. Some people try it, most people shout it down, and I have not found much in the way of solid evidence of it being a good idea. Except one! I found a commercial grower that has used biobizz nutes, and he said that as long as you are using "Acti-Vera" you can use anything from the BioBizz organic range. Apparently the enzymes in the mix break down nutes chemically in a similar way to what the theoretically missing microbes do. So I have ordered a bottle of that, and if my microbial cultivation attempts don't work out, I at least know I have a fallback that should work. Those are my thoughts on it, let's see how it pans out. Oh I should also probably point out that I am growing some companion plants, specifically alfalfa (nitrogen fixing), basil (improved flavour), and German Chamomile (increased essential oil production). Update week 4 day 2 dropped PH to 5.8 after advice from a grow question. Look! It's carried on growing... maybe there was no transplant shock? Update week 4 day 3: Growth continues, interveinal chlorosis lessening. Plant is pushing out node five at the moment. Update week 4 day 4: Growth continues, interveinal chlorosis further lessening. Apologies for the poor quality photos for the last few days, I was lazy and didn't want to move everything out to photograph. Today I have done that and the pic is better. I am declaring the second transplant a complete success. I do not believe that plant was in any way shocked. Update week 4 say 5: I think I've finally managed to overwater. Going to skip watering today. Update week 4 day 6: Photo taken just before lights on hence wilting. Growth continues to accelerate. I believe the alfalfa has been raising the PH so I've removed it. Today I will flush through with PH lowered water and then fertigate. The colour is still too pale but the growth and overall look and feel of the plant screams to me that it's happy and about to explode. Day 27.5 flushed with 30l of PH lowered water then fertigated with 5l. Day 28: Height 12cm Width: 28cm Nodes: 6 Weekly growth data: From 5cm Height to 12cm +140% From 12cm Width to 28cm +133% From 4 primary nodes to 6 +50% Summary: Wow, wow. Wow. What else can I say. What a crazy week, amazing and unexpected given the problems. I am really excited to see what happens over the next seven days!! It looks like it has quite severe chlorosis, but otherwise seems robust and is seriously stretching. Almost unbelievable growth. Pre-flowers appeared a few days ago, so I guess this was the final week of veg. Let's see how the first week of flowering stretch goes! Update 7/2/23: My instincts about this plant on week 4 day 6 were absolutely correct, she was happy and, she was about to explode. Since my early attempts at transplanting, I practiced multiple times with Citronella (a photoperiod plant) and then I did it again with an auto (Polly) - this one went flawlessly and further demonstrates that you can transplant an auto without shocking it. Time will tell, because I can compare Polly to both Misty and Nesia both of whom were sown directly in their final pots.

10/03/2020 Flowering has commenced! And I like how she is stretching, More than my cookie cake did and right at start of flower. I have decided not to top again, but I am going to take clones 2(SOIL) latter in the week, and 1 for DWC. More pics when I take clones (before and after)

Hey now, hope everyone is having a great week. The Glueberry OG is doing well, but it has been a struggle dealing with the heat and humidity in my region during late flower. I have 2 full size basement dehumidifiers running 24X7 and am able to maintain between 42-48% RH in the tent, however the tent is running between 68-80 degrees F, and I would definitely prefer slightly cooler. It is also a bitch to empty both humidifiers twice a day to prevent them from filling up and shutting off. I could build a reservoir and run lines, but I am just done flowering in the summertime, although I said the same thing in summer 2021. I was hoping to harvest her on 4th of July of Weekend, however her trichomes are just not ready. She is literally covered in triches, but not seeing any amber on the colas, just a couple on the leaves. So I will giver her at least another week, and hopefully harvest the following weekend. I check the trichomes every day or two and my new plan is hopefully to start the flush by the 4th depending on the trichomes and harvest the following weekend. Since I am harvesting 3 plants, if I can't get them all trimmed in a day, I plan to just go lights off for the next few days and have an auto or two still in the tent auto feeding on water only, while the Glueberry OG starts to dry, and then harvest the other's in the next couple of days. I figure as long as everything is in complete darkness, and the temp and humidity are stable, it should be fine, as some people swear by a darkness period anyways, although I have never tried it. If anyone has any experience/advice with this hit me up! I am trying to stay patient with this lady, but I am super excited to harvest her. Her Colas just started falling to the floor of the tent yesterday as they continue to pack on weight, Fortunately I saw it via Wyze Cam and was able to tie them up before they reached the floor. This lady smells absolutely amazing, this lady reaks of earthy diesel, and juicy fruit...Super excited to smoke and squeeze some of these nugs. The Glueberry OG Auto is the second auto I have run by Dutch Passion, the other was their Auto Blueberry which was a MASSIVE plant. I definitely prefer Photos as I enjoy mainlining etc, but as far as autos go, I have not seen any stronger genetics than Dutch Passion. I don't want to speculate on a final weight, but she has 12 mains, and I am estimating each main will be in the 1-2 zip range, and that's not even counting all the side branches. I know some people lollipop all the lower branches, but I will be happy to turn the lowers into half melt, canna-sugar,, bubble hash, full melt, rosin, etc. I am still running the Medic Grow Spectrum X at 100% in the F1 mode and running the UV/IR bar for 120 minutes prior to lights off. So far I am super pleased with this light, for the amount of PAR she puts out, she definitely runs cool comparatively to other LED's. Filter sock clogged up again, I just took the whole filter off, I'm not worried about the smell as it's outside in my shed anyway. Still warm and dry out this week, humidifier barely lasts 24 hours and that's just to keep the RH above 40. Trichs developing nicely, few more weeks to go for sure.

Gold sativa has been growing good. I am changing solution about once every 4 days. Which it is a gallon at a time so no biggie really. Wasn't satisfied with the net that came packed with the ACI 4x4 so I modified it with some string and zip ties. I find this works great because I have 2"x2" holes now that are partial elastic making weaving the tops much more forgiving on both me and her. I'm very happy with the direction this grow is heading. Along with the massive undertaking of redirecting all this growth. Roughly 8 hours off and on to redirect, defoliate and remove branches. She had a nutrient change and I moved on to week 5 of the FF Hydro schedule. I added about 1/2 tsp of Fox Farm Sledgehammer to the nutrients in my reservoir and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then pumped out the solution and flushed with roughly 20 gallons of fresh cold 6.0 pH tap water. Then added the new solution with Tiger Bloom.

All round a very good plant to grow , one of them stretched but I lollypopped and topped it late into flower due to outgrowing my tent and she took it well, producing absolutely top quality buds covered in milky thricomes and glistening all over the nuggs. Absolutely frosted. The smell at this point was around 7.8 smelling strong of orange and citrus , the main cola nice and dense, with lots of other colas branching off. Easy strain to grow to this point although I did have a calcium deficiency but it was fairly rectified.

Commencing Week 7: day 43 on January 12th Today I left the dirty girls (I call them that because they are in soil 😋) out of the tent for their first time in their lives to hang out with some new girlfriends (my photoperiod s). They seem very happy to be hanging out with them 👍👍 The other day I took one of my personal photoperiod Crosses and pollinated one of the bottom flowers of the bloody skunk, hopefully seeds will be coming soon :-) Today I started thinking about how much longer they have left and it seems the bloody skunk is nearing the finish Line already. In the beginning of this diary I wanted to achieve the goal of getting some autoflower seeds by taking one of the syrup strains and cross breeding it but none of my syrups strains made it from seed for some reason. So now I'm thinking about taking the top bud off of bloody skunk in the next week or two and letting the rest of the plant go through rodelization so I may still achieve that goal. We shall see.
