Week 1 - 01/01 to 01/08 2021 HUGE THANKS TO @MARSHYDROLED and @VIPARSPECTRALED! New surge protectors/heavy duty timers/the good cords. The Red Poison by @Sweet_Seeds is right on track with the Dark Devil and Purple Lemonade from my other diaries. The LSD is a little behind but the genetics seems to keep it small if you get the wrong pheno. Will give it a week or so for it to really settle in with a root base before cleaning out my 5gal RootPouch pots from the last grow and getting them transferred into their final homes. I have all my seedlings under the P1500 from Vipar as my veg light for the first few weeks to a month. It's SO nice to not have a blurple anymore, the light is way better in my room and on the eyes. The new diodes had every single seedling grow more in 6 hours than it did in the first 7 days under the blurp LED. The Red Poison perked right up and threw another set of leaves in the first 6 hours under the new light just like the Dark Devil and Purple Lemonade. I noticed a bit of spotting on the Dark Devil in my other diary so I added some Hydrogen Peroxide to the spray bottle and it cleared up. All four have been getting constant spritzing from the spray bottle to keep humidity up. Excited to see how big i can get the autos under the new lights, will switch over from the Vipar to the Mars by end of week 2/mid week 3 once I transfer them and give them a day or so settle in. Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. I've been feeding really heavy since my last post.. roughly 1200 ppm (2.4 EC). This is just to keep up with my C02 dosage. I've also been turning up my lights every other day trying to get as much light exposure as possible. Already giving off some awesome colours and odours. Trichome development has started too. I will be watering in some beneficial enzymes at the end of this week. I'm going to keep taking off large fan leaves whenever possible. I added a scrog net for the two plants in the back of the tent. She grew fast, was no trouble. Vegged out around 30 days. Pre flower there wasn't much of a stretch because of the Flming. What was meant to happen was she was meant to stop cold in her tracks growing in height, and she was meant to throw out 4 nodes on top, (tis what happens when you Flming) i knew this wouldn't happen but I was hoping for 1 big superbud. But for that, the nodes needed to grow a few CM, especially the 2 end ones and they were meant to grow some and form a nice big bud on top. But I got a funny shaped unformed total bud. Its okay, it's frosty and she grew no issues, took everything like a champ, a bit of nutrient burn, but, I've come to take that with synthetic nutrients. Had a real easy time with this girl. Pity only 1 out of 3 seeds popped. Well, they popped but failed to throw out any leafs and just died. But for what I did get, I'm super happy with the results. Think she's my best looking grow so far. In the pic its 17g and I smoked more than that, how I know is cause all I had left was the top and I smoked more than half of the nodes while it was drying. She's my favourite so far from FB.

OMG THE CRYSTALS! Wow first time using any carbohydrates on hydro. I even went with a low dose of 5ml per gal to top it off! The buds grew funky shaped not sure why. But they are really filling in now! And the smell is amazing. Prob 5x stronger then the monther plant that finished flowering in soil not hydro. Here we go! All three Tropicana Cookies are progressing through flower with the #3 still struggling. The #1 and #2 plants are both doing well, and are definitely two different phenotypes. The #1 plant is taller, bushier, with leaves that have long thin 'sativa' like fingers. While the #2 pheno is shorter, flowered faster, and has leaves that have more of a 'indica' structure to them. 12/15- I am continuing to drain/clean/refill the reservoir every 5 days and will be doing that first thing tomorrow after their last feed of the cycle. The #3 plant seems to be getting some better color in her lower sections, but still looks like crap up top. The #1 and #2 plants continue to impress me with their vigor and development. 12/17- Yesterday, I drained/cleaned/refilled the AirCube reservoir with 80L of well water, and then added the usual combination of Plagron nutrients ( Cocos 'A' & 'B', Green Sensation and Royal Rush) giving a total solution strength of 950ppm which I then ph'd to 5.6 @ 68℉. 12/19- Week 6 of flower's history and we're only 2-3 more weeks away from the finish for these lovely ladies from FastBuds! 💚 Thank you for checking out my passion in life! The Critical Mass CBD is lookimg good, tric's are clouding up. Keeping flushing with straight tap water. I am not ph'n the water, I figure this is the end and nute lockout should not matter. Would like to know everyone's thoughts on that. I am still waiting for some amber tric's before harvest, looks like it may be another week yet to harvest. I will have to move the plant to the edge of the lights again, new round going in. Thanks for looking.

So far this week I am starting to germinate 4 seeds. 2 are blue dream matic and the other 2 are pineapple Express auto from Fast Bud genetics. I also did a leak test on my diy undercurrent rdwc set up. I should have seedlings by the end of the week. Update 1. Both blue dream have 1/2inch tap roots and 1 pineapple Express has a 1/4 inch tap root. The other one has just opened up. Hopefully that doesnt mean they are going to be slow growers. Update 2. Sorry I dont have any more pictures this week. I dropped my phone and now my camera doesn't work. The 2 blue dream matic are about an inch tall and in rock wool. The 2 pineapple Express auto have not sprouted yet. The tap roots are slowly getting longer. I think it may be the temp of the seed starter. I purchased a seedling mat and have them on it. So hopefully I will have 2 more sprouts. I also have been fighting with fixing the leaks in the buckets. So I bought some flex seal spray and it worked!

Day 58: Scent has stepped up again and I'm noticing some of bud sites starting to develop frost. Day 58.5 Flushed with 20l of PH & CalMag. Day 59: reorganised tent Day 60: Fertigated 3l. Karen has put on a load of frost in the last 24h. I mean seriously. Smell stepped up again. Height 44cm. Day 60.5: I have had a really good look at other KKA grows. I think Karen is going to need a few extra weeks. I think she will be ready for harvest in about week 14. So I think we have about another 4-5 weeks to go. Day 61: Adjusted the LST a bit. She's frosting rapidly now. 😍😍🤩 Height 45cm. Width: 60cm x 70cm Day 61.5: It is only 8 days since I *heavily* defoliated and I think I probably should do it again already. Things are progressing well at the moment though so I am trying to resist doing it too soon. She is still stretching. Day 61.75: Right, I have done some research and I have made a decision,. I'm going to give Karen 2 full weeks from the last defoliation on day 53, so on day 67 (i.e half way through next week) I will defoliate and perform final LST just to space out the colas a bite more at the "top" of the plant. Incidentally, Nesia is now easily the same spread as Karen.. Nesia is going to be much bigger than Karen. Who knew basil flowers were so pretty? 😊 Day 62: Fertigated 3l Day 63: Height 47cm width 65cm x 75cm Week Summary: Another big week with a plant barely recognisable from herself a week ago. As well as the ongoing stretch she has started to frost over this week and I am hoping this continues because more and more is appearing all over the place.

Day 36 - It's week 5 already! The canopy is really gaining height day by day. Tied some more side branches down and adjusted the tie down on the main branch. Day 37 - Trying to figure out the correct watering amount. 1.5L was too much today will lower tomorrow to 1.2L. Day 38 - Plant is looking good today. Adjusted the tie downs on some branches. Watered with 1.3L and run off was still around 350ml so lowering tomorrow to 1.2L. Day 39 - Watering with 1.2L today. There was still no run off, I'm putting this down to the increased fan speeds, longer open tent periods and the plant growing more vegetation. My 2L watering can should arrive today, so I will be able to mix nutrients in one reservoir and water more accurately. Removed 3 of the bottom most fan leaves which had a branch large enough to support itself. Day 40 - Watered with 1.5L today. Removed 1 fan leaf and tied down a side branch. Run off was around 100ml. I also set the fan speed back to 1, as I think 2 was too strong for the plant and dehydration levels of the soil. Day 41 - Watered with 1.6L today. Run off of 400ml (25%). Getting pretty bushy now almost stretching to all sides of the tent. Day 42 - Watered with 1.4L today. Run off was 150ml (10%). She's now 32cm tall with the light hanging 36cm above the highest tips. That brings us to the end of Week 6. It looks like we are a day or two away from starting to flower properly. Bring on Week 7!

This week I trained in form of bending and defoliated from day to day. Since they fill up the space already I changed the light cycle at 8th of november.
