Plants that are too far from an adequate light source will respond by accelerating stem growth in order to get closer to the lamp themselves. Especially when there are many other plants. A lack of lighting can easily cause overcrowding in a growing chamber, reducing the steady progression of your crop and the distance ratio between your bulbs and your plants. To address this problem, be sure to provide enough light to your plants to prevent stem growth. At the same time, you should not position your lights too close to your plants either since this would also result in an over-stretching of the stems and in some cases, the loss of your crop. In addition to the distance between the light source and the plant, the type of light you will use also affects the size of the stretching of your crop. The orange and red lights encourage stretching and result in thinner, larger stems. And conversely, blue light stimulates a growth of thicker stems and a smaller size. When a species is ready to enter the vegetative phase and undergo its most drastic stretching period, metal halide lamps can be used to deter far too long stems. THE HEAT Heat is another essential element that can determine the stretch size of your plants during vegetation. Temperatures above 27 degrees push the stems to lengthen more and more and will propel the potential of sativas to push as high as possible. Heat lamps that are positioned too close to plants create an intolerable environment that will grow large, soft plants that will potentially wobble until they fall and lose flowers in its fall. OTHER CAUSES OF STRETCHING There are multiple variables that can lead to the stretching of plants beyond what could normally be expected of the plant. Environmental stressors resulting from transplantation (when a plant passes from one pot to another) can cause the plant to return to shock. This will eventually trigger a reaction causing a stretch. Cannabis plants that are not grown in decent conditions or do not receive enough nutrients will respond in a variety of ways and this includes stretching. Crops that are not spaced far enough apart are likely to stretch to sting the light to other plants. Due to extreme proximity, the plants will fight among themselves to reach the light, forcing them to expand as much as possible throughout the crop. HOW TO CONTROL STRETCHING DURING FLOWERING Stretching during flowering, you guessed it, takes place when you move your plants from the vegetation stage to the flowering stage. This is a completely normal reaction, as your plants are preparing to bear the weight of their heads. Stretching of a plant at the beginning of flowering varies widely; some plants can double in height while others grow only a few centimetres. There are, however, two main variables that can give you at least an idea of how your plants are stretching during flowering, and how much. Here are these two variables: Variety: Genetics has the greatest impact on the size of your plant. In general, sativa varieties stretch more than indicas and tend to develop long, slender stems. Light: Some lights, such as HPS, are more likely to encourage stretching. In addition, great distances between your canopy and your lights will cause the plants to stretch as they try to get closer to the light source. Stretching during flowering usually lasts the first two weeks of the phase. To minimize stretching, keep your lights between 10 (for CFL) and 30 centimetres (for HID) of your canopy. Finally, choose indica varieties if you have a smaller growing space. HOW TO AVOID STRETCHING In many cases, you can expect your cannabis plants to stretch during the flowering phase. Keeping that in mind helps to make a plan in case your species ends up growing much more than you could have imagined. If the information is available, get information on the standard size of your species and compare it to the size of your growing space taking into account the necessary distances between the bulbs and the plants. TRAFFIC While outdoor crop operations benefit from natural air to naturally limit stretching, indoor crops must assume the maintenance of air circulation within a confined space. Basic ventilation is enough to help the cannabis stems strengthen and become thicker rather than too high. In this way, the plants continue to grow vigorously without reaching heights and at the same time, your tolerance ceiling. MANUAL INTERVENTION For growers who want to get their hands dirty, there are physical procedures that can be done to reduce stretching. Similar to the natural effect that the wind has on cannabis plants, manually bending the leaves and stems will cause tiny cracks in the plant's tissues that will cause the plant to focus on regenerating its wounds instead of its vertical growth. THE TOPPING Topping is a form of manual intervention on cannabis to influence its performance, shape or size. In essence, topping is a process in which a new node is cut, growing from the plant to reduce its size and create a "v"-shaped notch that will eventually form two heads. Topping may be an effective measure to combat stretching, but it is important not to do so when the flowering phase begins. In most cases, an abnormal stretch of cannabis plants will not completely destroy your crop. In fact, stretching can indeed help increase your performance. For growers with a growing operation large enough to contain tall plants, stretching can increase the total yield of a species with more vertical space for head formation. In both cases, stretching can easily be planned in advance and there are multiple solutions to help you with this problem which is all too common. May the force be with you 💪

Plants took a few days to get stripped down. Missed the second week of flowering and stretching but oh well there is always next time. Very excited to see this canopy full of uniform buds its going to be a sight to behold haha.

The OLPs are a week behind because the timer in their tent was flipping back and forth between 12-12 and 18-6 for about 10 days.. ooosie! Moms are being maintained as little bonsai plants in solo cups in my back bedroom near the window with a single 100w panel set to 18-6. Being mostly neglected, infrequent watering, lean fertilizer, heavy defoliation.

🖐️👨‍🌾 Bienvenidos amantes de la Marihuana, comienzo una nueva temporada de cultivos, primavera/verano 24, con esta cepa que me va a llevar de viaje por el viejo reino de Siam a la búsqueda de la marihuana que pude fumar allí y antaño, tal vez en este camino cargado de recuerdos, me encuentre con otras flores... con más recuerdos. Después de unas semanas de descanso de la temporada anterior, comienzo este nuevo viaje con ganas y la esperanza de conseguir la mejor cosecha hasta el momento. Preparé concienzudamente el sustrato donde puse las semillas de las 9 cepas que voy a cultivar esta temporada, mi intención era emular la germinación espontanea que se produce en el bosque o campo, pensé en reproducir este escenario, mezclé un sustrato "cocinado" durante meses con nutrientes y minerales, añadí fibra de coco inoculada con Microorganismos de Montaña y mi Bio Coco EM que contiene minerales, hormonas, enzimas, etc. puse la semilla en superficie de ese sustrato y lo tapé con materia orgánica seca proveniente de Mulch rescatado de mi anterior temporada de cultivos, a continuación humedecí todo con agua caliente y miel, lo tapé y lo puse al calor de una manta eléctrica, a los 3 días asomó esta semilla de Thai Fantasy, dos días después otra semilla de Colombia Gold también salía del sustrato, pero 8 días después ninguna de las otras 7 semillas germinó, a la vista de una lupa, todas la semillas estaban podridas y con ácaros similares a los que se ven en el compost, el fracaso ha sido total, la ley de la selva a imperado y solo han sobrevivido las más fuertes, estas dos semillas tendrán las mejores macetas, se las han ganado. Ahora he vuelto a poner las semillas a germinar, pero esta vez sobre servilletas húmedas y calor, y prepararé un sustrato menos caliente para el momento del trasplante... adelante! Didn't put on much height during pre flower. 43 cm for the Topped (pheno 2), and 41 for untopped (pheno 1). The pistils surprisingly are 50/50 amber/white. They're in the fattening stage only a few days. I've added co2 for 12hrs and then they are going under my P1000 for 6hrs. Hoping to see some big buds. They are moving quickly. So, let's see. I've added a 13-14 PK booster from plagron with a few of their other products. With the 12hrs of extra heat and co2, they'll be needing a lot more nutrition. Diet/Defoliation/Temperature Was on a Full Plagron natural line and a few of their other products, and I've added a 13/14 PK booster, with fish force and a few others. I done a 10-15% defoliation removing many fan leafs, focusing on the middle to allow better airflow was done after pre flower. And more will be done coming into her next week "10" and light lollipoppoing at the end to clear any possible larf areas was done this wk. So, what's therenow will be brought to harvest, a lot is very far away, so I need to get a blue HID I think to control tight Inter nodes in veg, I'll do this as I gain more experience. 28-29c is maintained for the co2 addition and under the P1000 the temp is brought back down to 26c with no additional co2. And ppfd is lowered to 850 ppfd but its a deep penetrative led light I'll give it that. Actually it carries the highest ppfd into your canopy than any 100w out there, and this is the 2021 version. They've an upgrade. Much respect to Vipar, this light and the Spiderfarmer have been my veg lights the past Yr, and this yr I've used these both and they've produced some quality bud. The cbg is done fully under them and the plant is amazing. Diet, Shes on the Full Plagron Natural line, soil and all. "Pro mix" with mega worms to add later. With PK, green sensation, fish force, power roots, vita race, "dummies sent me 2x of these instead of Start" Silic Rock, Pure Zym Sugar Royal. And Terpinator. "Power Roots has been pult, its time recommended by plagron. The roots are plenty and they drink close to 1L of fluids a day. Normally I don't like given so much stuff. But all are different, (expect Terpinator and SR they've the same purpose but its only 1 feed of the Terpinator a wk, by itself 370ppm 6.1ph 15.5c temp.. Co2 Co2 is maintained at 1000-1300ppm for 12hrs. And then when they go back under my p1000 they get ambient co2 levels 675ppm. The co2 is been ate at 350ppm every hr. Mind you most of these girls aren't hitting a high ppfd that's needed to convert into sugars. I've shuffled my 3 fans. 2 fans 1 on the top left blowing above canopy and 1 on the other side. A small one is at the bottom that keeps the heavy co2 off the ground. And my moving my fans, the co2 went from 1000 to 1300 shows, right air-flow is paramount. Thankfully I've a sensor that reads every second and is so sensitive it allows you to move your fans and shows how much longer co2 lasts if kept at an level with the foliage.. WARNING: Co2, is no joke. You can die from inproper use. I fully advise if anything you get a top sensor at least to known your levels and then you can jerry rig whatever. If not using a full kit. I highly urge to have it only in use while you're there to monitor it. No way should it be left on. As co2 is heavy it'll flow down your stairs and your beloved pets will be the 1st to suffer. It doesn't take a lot of gas even from a 1L bottle to fill a 12x12M room to 500ppm.. mine does 3x1L bursts every hr at 0.00001L a burst. Thanks to my rep James's for the seeds & merch. Has been a bad week for Gorilla Cookies. After further inspection I have discovered russet mites. I treated her with neem for 4 days. I then rinsed it off yesterday. I proceeded to lollipop the plant as well. Hopefully I have killed off the mites. La planta sigue floración de manera correcta, no se ha estresado más que la última vez, ya se pueden ver los tricomas y añado al riego melaza para la formación de resina.

The plant is now in its 3rd week of flowering, they look very healthy and the first pistils can be seen. The smell starts to become slightly sweet. The first signs that the fertilizer is working can also be seen, spores are forming on the soil. I'm very excited to see what these magnificent specimens will bring 💚💚💚

One of my own personally created strains. It definitely has the Jack Herer tall genetics. I topped and defoliated every plant. I'm trying to form them into canna-bushes. Hopefully I'm doing the correct training procedures to make them all grow that way both indoors and out.

9/19 FED TODAY ONLY USED ABOUT A GALLON OF A HALF AND I LEFT OUT BEASTIE BLOOM AS I FORGOT AND WAS IN A HURRY. Wow. Yesterday was quite the day. I smoked a joint of the bud I had taken earlier. It was fire. Trichs look good and I didn't want to risk sustained damage from the storm or earwigs (more later). Took forever but I got the one ten foot blueberry hanging and one of my 5 gallon seedlings. I want to wait a little longer before I took ANYTHING. The seedling is was overdone if anything though. I'll add trichs pics. We are supposed to have some fairly good weather. This brings me to my next point. These earwigs must like blueberries because those three plants are the ones they damaged the most. That and one in a bucket. I mean they fucking strip it. I was going to take a branch off another blueberry as it looked awesome and kept hitting me in the face. I left it. I came back this morning and all the lower part of the branch was stripped. I mean fucking nothing. Im so fucking pissed. You can look on the interior and see secondary and tertiary branches that are just destroyed. Obviously my ice cream cake and a few others need more time. Dreamcatchers are totally unaffected by them. I could take those if I had to but they are fine. I could take the blueberries too if needed but this is when they really bulk up. It's a hard decision to make. Especially when they can work that fast and demolish a plant. If I don't chop I'll be using everything at my disposal today and hunting them after dark. I wonder if they are in the bag? 9/20 Harvested another blueberry yesterday. I left one to maybe catch a frost. I put petroleum jelly on every stalk and branch Of the other plants. Came here this morning to more striped branches further up on the lone blueberry. I don't care about the damage on the 5 gallon small experiment plants but it still sucks. I still don't totally know what is causing this ridiculous damage. As you can see in the pictures the damage is progressing up the plant. I'm cutting the last blueberry today. Trichs are good. It could go another week but with the damage sustained from ONE night I'm not going to risk it. Whatever is eating my plants don't seem to like the dreamcatchers. Luckily. I hope whatever this destructive fucking bug is doesn't move to another plant. I'll be on the look out. I'm ready for this season to end. 9/21 I think I lost a day in my diary. I've been so fucking busy. Took the last blueberry yesterday. Spent hours in the garden. Watered today. Need to do a potassium bicarbonate spray. I'll update later. 9/22 It's raining. Shook off the plants this morning. I cannot believe the rate of flowering. Maybe it's because the last four days I've been working my balls off harvesting and trimming those plants. Ill do a review and a harvest report of the blueberry once it's dry. The stuff is fire. The seedling is crazy too. Trichs are through the roof. I compared with a local dispensary pot and mine was better. Not as good as the dispo I frequent though. There is one on ever corner down here. 9/23 Didn't have time to feed this morning. I'll be back down in a bit and feed. We are expecting rain I guess but I'm not dealing with any mold issues other than the mild WPM. I plan to do a k bicarb spray today. I defoliated everything dead I saw. I've smoked my blueberry and it is amazing. The little seedling experiment I grew in the 5 gallon turned out AMAZING. Some of the densest buds I've grown. Trichs off the charts. Piny citrus taste and heavy sedative effects. Im waiting for the blueberry to at least dry before I do the harvest report. It's nice today. Plants have continued exploding into flower. For now I'll be in trim jail. 9/24 Watered lightly and fed 1 gallon. Started cha ching today at 1/8 tsp. Gallon. Still no idea on mysterious damage. I noticed a bit more. I went over at 4am hoping to find the culprit but nothing was there. We are supposed to have three days of rain. Everyone seems worried. I'm a little worried myself. I cut out a small branch on the middle of the dreamcatcher that had rot. Other than that it's just slight PM on some. I tried to mark damage so I can see what else happens. I'm letting the rest of this stuff ride. I'll do what I can to protect it but it's not coming down early. 9/25 The massive storm descended last night. Winds turned my ice cream cake literally sideways. Dreamcatchers are so fucking sturdy and strong that it would take a tornado to Damage them. The big plant in the fifty gallon pot had some branches that were 90° down. I tried to tie up what I could quickly. I noticed some damage on the ice cream cake. Same as on the blueberry's. I hope I made the right decision waiting this storm out. Defoliated and added supports where I could. Rushed morning.

Last week showed the most progress. Lowered my light to about 22-24” and it just took off from there. The one that was not doing so well has started to show a lot more life this week.

Hello everyone, Another week has passed by and the 3 Afghan skunk plants are doing wonderful especially the one in the 39 liter airpot. I gonna transplant the other 2 within a week still thinking about in which airpot i going to put them in 21 or 39 liter. So I removed the internodes and some leaves did some lst.
