So the Northern Lights free seed from RQS ended up out living all 3 of the Dosidos’ “USA Premium” seeds that all died within the first week of sprouting, hopefully an explanation will be found for this as I have not been able to come to any conclusion as to what happened. Day 17 17/07/24 Wednesday De-chlorinated tap water pH 6 with calmag 5ml -5L. Very humid week, noticed a green turning colour on top of soils where the humidity has been far to high. I have installed door netting and recently left open all day and night now so they can condition over night in colder temps. Growth wise, explosive little seed 👌💚 Day 19 19/07/24 Friday Lite Feed today, 250ml each pot small run off. Seeing excellent start to these babies. PPFD: Direktes Sonnenlicht DLI: Direktes Sonnenlicht -Tag 59 Sie werden naja... aber wir haben die ganze Hoffnung auf die Candy Bubatz XL #3 gesetzt diese sieht schon sehr stabil aus im vergleich zu denn anderen zwei, Sie werden Trotzdem noch etwas wachsen und ein paar kleine Buds abgeben. -Tag 64 die Candy Bubatz #1 ist dünner als die #2, aber beide werden so langsam dichter 😪

Weather was better than before. A couple of sunny and warmer days. Installed the lights with the timer in order to support a 16/8 light cycle with a 1 minute burst of light every two hours at night. Mid week i transplanted them, super happy about that. Cover crop looks great. The placeholder pots have been filled with horsetail, alfalfa, bokashi and worms. Cleared them out to use it as mulch on top. Watered them in with fresh brewed vermicompost tea. The Jamaican Dream CBD will later move into the garden, so the roots can connect with the soil through the bottom of the bag. Plants looking great by the end of week, but still in flower.... started a new run for back up and a friend of mine would give me some very nice seedlings and clones if things go wrong.

Week 9! Day 65: 2L (pH6.8) + mild organic fertiliser from kitchen scraps. Remember the potato water I spoke of earlier? I blended it up with some ruined sweet peppers from the garden and some applecider vinegar & eggshell to give her one last, very diluted nutrient solution. This feed was aimed more at the soil than the plant. Bud bulking has come to a halt, she's fading. Nonetheless, I discovered some purple leaf edges on one of the buds in particular, I wonder if this might be related to nutrition or temperature. Day 67: 2L (pH6.6) + 5ml/l home-made fertiliser. I noticed I accidentally had turned off the timer on the LED, as well as left it on 20% power the entire night. I was expecting to have to disturb her lights off period to look at her, but there she was just chilling in low light conditions. Also, she seems to have no problems running on the very diluted home-made fertiliser so I'm repeating the previous feed - this time being a bit more precise on the dosage: 5ml/l. As I stated, this is more of a fertiliser for the soil microbes than herself. Day 68: Damp, no water Trichomes are still mostly clear, nothing unexpected. Patience is not my strongest virtue.

The tricombe production on this strain is ridiculous! It looks amazing under my microscope. The heads are mostly milky coloured so this may be finishing sooner than expected. The space in the tent is getting a bit tight so I'll be glad to have more room when this lady has done her thing.

I am more than happy with the Strawberry Gorilla from 420Fastbuds This is my first attempt at hydroponics, but it's going well. The plant grows incredibly quickly. I made her a new and stronger nutrient solution. The PH rose to 6.5 over the last night. I check once a day. Now the PH value is back to 5.7. Plant is growing really quick, it started slowly but with a good root system it started to grow and grow non-stop. As you can see at the timelapse of the last week it also went outside of the recording frame. As commentedbefore it had signs of some over fertilization and it still has a bit of it, but i think it will go further. day 27 update. the signs of over fertilization are increasing at some leave tip, but i will wait more to take action. One thing is secure now, this plant needs less nutrients than the GHE table shows. I will wait about 1 week more which according to seed bank and some diaries is the aprox time remaining to start flowering and will apply 70-80% recommended dose.

They are still growing nicely, continuing to bush out since LST. A healthy green & what will be a bunch of future bud sites keep showing up daily.

The Best Elephant Trunk Grow 🏆

Keep getting bigger! The bag seeds have gotten very stretchy and tall/skinny. A couple of the Northern Lights and GDPs have also gotten some very tall colas. The CO2 canister tapped out after about a week and a half instead of two. These things are a pretty big ripoff really. Replaced the contents with alcohol ingredients (fermenting yeast and sugar water to create CO2) until my mushroom bag gets here. Changing the canister caused it to fall and break a bag seed. Taped the splits, so far seem to be recovering fine. Had to take a small branch off, but made it into a little clone to turn into a cannabonsai.

Already showing some flower buds. It's developing well.

Day 71, 19.06.2024 As the new and possibly last week of blooming arrives I am looking at two ladies, that behaved quite well during the last weeks. They grew close and it will be a shame to cut them down in the end. However, what must be done, must be done right? Today there will be the second to last nutrition intake for them. I decided to cut the BioBizz Grow and CalMag completely so they will receive 600ml of 4/4ml (Bloom/TopMax) later today. Also today I saw the first amber trichomes through my pocket microscope. But not enough yet - maybe I will stop feeding nutes after todays "last supper" and start flushing... Day 72, 20.06.2024 No action today. Day 73, 21.06.2024 600ml of water each - no nutes. I think it might be the big finale. I am thinking about harvest next and watching a lot of YouTube about that topic 😂 Day 74, 22.06.2024 No action on the plants but to give them a check up. I finally see the first amber trichomes on both of the plants, woohoo 🙌 Removed 3-5 fan leafs that were starting to get yellow. Time to make up a plan for the harvest I guess! Currently the plan is - to do harvest in 4 days from today in the evening (Wednesday, 26.06. ~1700). - I stop watering immediately - no more soup for you! Maybe I did not do flushing long enough, but my hope is that using organic fertilizer eases the effects - I will not switch off the lights on Monday at 1100 (like usual). Instead I will keep it on until 1700 - then switch them off completely. - 48h later on Wednesday I will harvest I do all this to inflict stress to the ladies. Stress by low water, stress by longer light followed by stress due to no light at all. All this will hopefully lead the plants to 1. produce more trichomes as a defensive reaction and build up bud mass 2. urges the plant to process as much chlorophyll as possible which leads to better taste in the end So much for the plan. Let's see how this turns out. Day 75, 23.06.2024 The good thing about not watering anymore: No action today. But as today would mark the "point of no return" in a way I will double or even triple check for the trichomes. If they are ready, I will commence the plan of not watering and longer lighting tomorrow. If there is doubt I will shift the plan day by day. Aaand here it is: Doubt! After checking the trichomes again I found too much of them clear. I decided to not rush things and thus postpone the harvest for at least 3 days. So today there will be a (late) flush and we will take it from there. Day 76, 24.06.2024 No real action today but to check in trichomes. Erika II has a good number of amber trichomes while Erika I still has too mich clear ones. It's a dilemma. But I will hold on to the plan for now which says: Harvest will be on the weekend (friday presumably)! Day 77, 25.06.2024 Today we reached 30°C outside and it is (finally) getting summer here in germany. This resulted in 28°C inside the tent & it felt good to give the ladies some craved water: ~1000ml went in the pots before the drain started. This was definetly the last drink. Tomorrow the last light cycle will start. Today is tuesday. The plan for harvest is as follows: Wednesday: No action. Thursday: Lights out at 1100. They stay off until the end. Friday: Harvest will begin at around 16:30 after work. Both plants will be harvested & hung up for drying. I am thinking about doing one plant using wet-tim and one plant using dry-trim techniques, just to have the comparison right after the first grow. I guess I need to make up my mind about that...
