MELs_Garden Welcome to mel's Garden Crazy mix This time we will be following up on these varieties but only the flowering phase. Fertilizers: Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur + Mammoth P Grow tent: 120×240×200 Lights: 600w HPS + 315w LEC Substrate: 50% janeco-light-mix + 50% coco (both from Atami) Pots: 11l Genetics used/seed banks: • Barney Farm (Clone) 2 - Glookies 2 - Strawberry lemonade 5 - Orange sherbet • Humboldt 2 - Bubba Bush 2.0 4 - Chocolate Mint OG • the Outlaw seeds 5 - Berry Mint 1 - Muffin' Berry 1 - Barney Kid The growth, in summary, has been 1 month and a half with coco substrate and Atami light in approximately 50/50 proportions and with the range of nutrients from Advanced Nutrients. Growth in 2l pots and later transplanted to 11l pots. Over the last few weeks, we performed supercropping on several occasions. MELs_Garden Week 2 (April 10 - 16) Very happy with how everything is going. Every day we’re tucking branches through the holes in the net, trying to make the most of the surface area. April 10 We did a spray irrigation with 10ml•l of spruzit for the pests and thrips that won’t give us a break. April 11 Irrigation with water to remove any remnants of the spruzit. We’re keeping an eye on the plants so the light doesn’t burn them, and we’re raising it as they grow. April 12 Today we’re defoliating leaves and pruning some of the lower branches that were left. The Glookies and Orange Sherbert have already sexed, they’re showing the first little hairs that tell us they are females. The temperatures this week range between 25-26.5°C when the lights are on and about 20-22°C when they’re off, with a relative humidity of between 50-60%. April 15 We removed a couple of leaves for better light penetration. We did irrigation: We’ve started giving them (in smaller amounts) flowering fertilizers so they can start preparing. 1.5 A + 1.5 B + 1 candy + 1 B-52 + 1.5 Big Bud + 2 Sensizym + 0.16 Mammoth P pH 6.1 EC 1.5 ms T: 16°C We’re closing out the week. Everything looks great, the plants are healthy and branching a lot and very well, they have a beautiful color, a light green that reflects health. Some Orange Sherbert and Glookies have sexed, but the rest nothing yet, they will continue preparing the spaces for future flowers. The Bubba are the shortest, although they still need to stretch. The Berry Mint are all 5 the same, both in size and phenotypes with lots of branching. In the Chocolate Mint, we differentiate two genotypes. We periodically raise the net to guide the branches. The temperatures have been good, with fairly stable temperatures and no big differences between days, but the heat is coming and we’ll see how we progress.

MELs_Garden Week 3 (April 16 - 22) Pruned some leaves and we sprayed the crop with 10 ml of spruzot and 2 ml of tec fort (per liter) because those damn thrips are still around. I’m super happy with how things are going, the only bad thing I've seen is some thrips, but I'm not giving them a break until I get rid of them. We are (if everything continues like this) facing my best grow yet. It's my first time mostly using coco and I'm really pleased. The plants are responding very well, they have a very healthy color, and there are no signs of deficiencies or excesses. The supercropping we've done so far has paid off, and some plants have responded by branching out like crazy compared to what I'm used to. The plants range from 65 to 105 cm and still have to stretch; the cuttings (orange, strawberry, and glookies) haven't stretched much yet, but since they are 10-week plants, I know they grow at a different pace. I have faith that once they all stretch, they'll have a similar height. MELs_Garden Week 4 (from April 23 to 29) The spaces for the flowers are ready, and the flowers are growing well. April 25 Watering with 1.2l per plant 2A + 2B + 1.5 Candy + 1.5 Big Bud + 1 overdrive + 1 B-52 + 0.16 Mammoth P + 2.5 Calmag pH 6.1 EC: 1.2 T: 20°C We periodically remove leaves that we see are affected or that are in the way. April 25 The thrips are still there, not many, and they don't seem to be thriving too much, but they're there. Foliar watering with spruzit and tec fort to keep them under control, and today we expect diatomaceous earth to arrive to eradicate them completely. We remove the leaves that we see are bothersome or a bit useless because they don't get much light. Every day that passes, we see more flowers and they are getting bigger. • Bad news, the EC meter broke, and the values from the last watering were incorrect, but we already have a new tool and will fix the small issues caused. April 29 Watering with 1.1l per plant 2 A + 2 B + 1.5 Big Bud + 1.5 Overdrive + 1.5 Candy + 2 Sensizym pH 6.1/6.2 EC 1.72/1.8 ms 18/19.8°C Yesterday we set up several blue sticky traps for thrips in case there are any that aren't jumping from plant to plant. Today we will do the last (hopefully) pest control watering, using 1.5ml•l of neem oil and 20g per liter of soil of diatomaceous earth, which they say works wonders. This week the temperatures have risen a bit; when the lights are on, they range between 25-27°C, with the last few days being more like 26-28°C. Everything is going smoothly, some plants like the Bubba seem to be ahead because it's quite fast, 50-55 days, and the Muffin Berry (which we had at 1.2m) we had to bend 45° so it doesn't get too tall. Other than that, you guys let me know 😁

MELs_Garden Week 5 (April 30 - May 6) 04/30/2020 Foliar watering to clean up residues, you can already see in the photos the remnants of the white powder. We’re giving the Muffin berry a 45° bend because it’s getting out of control, so we’re bending it and supporting it with a wire. 05/04/2020 Several points: • We cleaned the leaves with a brush to remove most of the residue that was on the leaves. • Some fan might have hit a few of them too hard, and it could be that some terpenes have turned orange. • The heat has risen a lot in just two days, and some of the plants closest to the light have burned a bit on some upper leaves, but nothing to worry about. Today we changed the 600w sodium setup for a 315w lec setup with a bell-shaped reflector, to which we’ve added a 125mm tube with an extractor (cold Tube) to suck up as much hot air as possible and keep the temperature in the grow. So we’re left with two 315w lec lights for the entire grow, and it’s a joy that will last longer than one grow. About the varieties: • From the bubba, there’s one that’s producing a nice bud and another that was in a corner that has been left in a "hole." • The Orange and strawberry are very TOP, in the previous grow I wanted to squeeze them more, and in this one we’re satisfied. • The berry mint, there are 3 that aren’t bad, and then we have two that are incredible. • Chocolate Mint, all 4 are very similar, they don’t have anything special, but they don’t have ANYTHING bad, if you know what I mean. • Muffin berry is still bent, it’s the biggest plant I’ve grown so far, and it’s a FREAKING OCTOPUS because it has branches with incredible strength, probably due to the training. • Barney Kid = TOP All the opinions I give are based on how I see them so far and how they have developed. 05/06/2020 Watering with about 2.3l, the girls were thirsty. Since we’ve used just over 40l, the waterings have been in parts, plus I ran out of nutrients from advanced nutrients, so we’ve made do with what we had. • 2 A + 2 B + 2 Overdrive + 2 Big Bud + Candy + 2 Sensizym + 0.16 Mammoth P + 2 magnesium ~ PH 5.78 EC 2.15 ms T: 24.7°C ~ PH 5.82 EC 1.89ms T: 19°C • 4 Bachumus + 3 PK (B.A.C.) + 5 Magnesium ~ PH 5.71 EC 1.95ms T: 18.8°C • 4 Bachumus + 3 PK + 5 PK ~ PH 5.75 EC 1.99 T: 18.9°C The switch from sodium to lec is appreciated, plus by putting an extractor directly on the light, we’ve managed to significantly reduce the heat spots as well as lower the general ambient temperature. These days it’s starting to get really hot, but with the new system, we can be at ease.

MELs_Garden Week 6 (May 7-13)(days 36 - 42) Happy with how things are going, we removed a few damaged leaves and not much else. 😌😌 11/5/2020 The last watering was quite heavy and we can see how the tips show signs of over-fertilization, so this watering will be lighter. Considering we had the problem of running out of fertilizers and that our supplier has it complicated due to the current COVID situation, we'll work with what we have. Today’s watering is using 40L for 22 plants. Waterings are done in 10L jugs, so the values vary depending on the plants. (Values • l) • 1g of biogreen flower boost + 1ml calcium max + 1ml Mg PH: 5.94 EC: 1.21 T h2O: 18.5°C • 1g of biogreen flower boost + 1ml calcium max + 1ml Mg + 0.2ml Final solution PH: 5.84 EC: 1.00 T h2O: 18°C • 1g of biogreen flower boost + 1ml calcium max + 1ml Mg + 0.2 Final Solution PH: 5.81 EC: 1.18 T h2O: 17.3°C • 1g of biogreen flower boost + 1ml calcium max + 1ml Mg PH: 6 EC: 1.44 T h2O: 17.2°C For some varieties like Bubba and Barney Kid, this will be their last watering with fertilizers; from now on we will do flush waterings until harvest so that no residues remain in our flowers at the final moment. The rest, however, will have around 3-4 weeks at least. This is still progressing and new flowers are still forming, but let's hope this doesn't take long to bulk up, because even though I know they are long-flowering, I feel like they could be better, not sure if it's due to the nutrient change and that I'm not covering all their needs. Despite everything, we have some incredible-looking Orange Sherberts, a powerful Berry Mint, and two Chocolate Mint OGs that look delicious... Just to mention, one of the lights stopped working yesterday 😔 after taking a look and doing some tests, we found out the issue was with the cable and it's already being fixed. 😁😁 I'm really enjoying this grow and learning from the mistakes; just seeing how they are doing and with the things I've learned, I can't wait to start the next grow, but one step at a time. 🤗 By the way, in the last few days the temperature has dropped quite a bit due to the bad weather, which has been great for stabilizing the temperature around 25/26°C when ON and 22/23°C when OFF. In the previous days, it was more around 28/29°C, reaching 30 at some point. A bit of coolness for the garden. And finally, but not least important. My partner, whom I love so much, is going to lend me her phone to take photos. The difference is huge, so we will try to improve the quantity of our content for everyone's benefit. 😁😁

MELs_Garden Week 7 (May 14 - 20) (days 43 - 49) Everything is going pretty well. The thrips refuse to leave the grow, but we'll try to keep the losses to a minimum and keep them as far away as possible. Detail to keep in mind "error." In my previous grow, I put in 2 Glookies and ended up with two phenos; 1 with big, thick buds, and another with small, hard buds with an immense layer of resin... Since we took cuttings without knowing how they would behave and to keep this variety for a future grow... the cuttings came from this second one, so now I know they won't produce fist-sized buds. They are a bit over-fertilized, but day by day they are looking more beautiful. From the Mint Berry, we appreciate 2 phenos that can be seen in the photos, in my opinion, quite clearly. 05/17/2020 .. with everything we have in mind and more.. we didn't see what was right in front of us... a pretty serious over-fertilization.. we focused on the thrips and didn't notice the over-fertilization we were creating. Tomorrow I'll set up a tray and do a root wash until the EC of the incoming and outgoing water equalize.. And think about what they could have been... we'll use the wash to stop fertilizing Bubba and the Barney Kid. May 17 Root wash until the outgoing EC is 0.2ms, which is the water we work with. When working with organic fertilizers, it's possible that residues remain in the substrate, and since we don't want to over-fertilize them again, the next watering will probably be with water. We took advantage of the root wash to reorganize the cabinet. We won't be adding products to some varieties because they don't have much time left until the cut, Barney Kid, Bubba... when the substrate dries, we'll check with the microscope to see how they are doing. The Glookies and an Orange Sherbert are the ones that have struggled the most (before and after the wash). In fact, the Glookies were the ones that triggered the alarm when I saw they weren't standing up, due to severe over-fertilization that blocked nutrient uptake, making deficiencies like lack of calcium or floppy stems visible. The others are doing quite well. The weather is on our side, and we continue with stable temperature/humidity conditions compared to what they used to be.

MELs_Garden Week 8 (May 21-27) (days 50-56) I haven't commented much because I haven't really done anything. After the flush, they've been recovering and maturing. After all the liters we gave them, they're having a hard time soaking it all up, and that's why we've gone the whole week without watering. We harvested: 1 - Orange sherbert (5/22) 1 - Glookies (5/23) 1 - Bubba kush 2.0 (5/24) 1 - Barney Kid (5/24) 1 - Strawberry lemonade (5/24) We'll talk about these later when we harvest more plants of the same variety. Other than that, everything's good, the plants are doing their thing, and I have nothing else to do but wait.
