Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. Start of week six we start seeing rapid growth from all plants in height and bud production. 1 of the ladies is an absolute freak but in all the good ways. Shes reaching a meter in length and is going to have 5 slender long kolers. The rest are all around the 80cm mark minus the two under achievers which are at the 70 cm mark which is amazing as the plants are supposed to be the size at harvest. Not changed much apart from excluding the voodoo juice nutrients ,adding another 600w light to the tent and a tiny bit of defoliation. My flat is starting to smell amazing. Sometimes I bury my nose in the outlet pipe and inhale a deep breath. Haaaah

They started blowing up last week we're in the beginning of the 4th week and there looking good spraying them with Dr zymes ones a week

Little late on the update my bad family. These two are finishing up perfectly and will get the chop this week. One of the three is finished and was just chopped so I'll update as soon as I get all 3's wet weight. Over all I couldn't be happier with how they grew.

Day 42 Crazy it's already week 7, it goes so fast. Rocky has outgrown the other 2 by 7 cm I think. It's hard to measure because her head always shows into one direction, incredible how flexible she is. I have no fear any storm (the 50km/h winds show up daily) could hurt her despite a tornado. Day 43 All the girls are fit, still no leaf lost, bugs etc are down to a minimum. It's a fantastic grow for me and as it looks for them too😁 I want to give a shout out to the breeders, especially Barney's. All the auto varieties I had the pleasure to grow outdoors have performed very good and stable. While it wasn't one totally outstanding, but all on a high level, top consistency. And also Kannabia, I didnt know em, but they have a nice catalogue of genetics that are special, for example some midrange THC strains, which I personally love. More "natural" plants. The Kickass is beautiful with that ol skunky smell 😊 Day 44 Today I accidently poured half of the watering can into Zillas soil, I kind of stumbled and so she got her whole feeding at once 😊 She doesnt show an signs of overwatering. Springbrunnen is infected by mildew on the 5 lowest leaf. I will cut them, it's too much of a risk. All 3 girls get a H2O2 treat and some neem oil. Cut some lower leaves that are either infected or yellow & when they're easily removable. I don't like taking off leaves, it's just painful at least for me. Honestly a lot of that heavy defoliation, topping, you name it, feels like torture to me. I mean yes they can be advantageous in different scenarios but my purpose is to let her grow the way SHE wants to, I just want to assist so she can bring out more of her. Day 45 Only 2h sunlight on average the last 3 days, but we're fit. Did a sunset photo shooting with Rocky, tried to make it real art. Day 46 Bad weather, dark days. Checked for bugs and stuff after the neem oil treat, there's still a few but hey - it's outdoors. They leaves I rubbed with neem oil curled up now, they didn't like it! Day 47 Rocky still working on that storm resistance 😂 Dude she's so tall & thin, several times a day I'm thinking "okay let's move her inside" but they had it hard from the beginning so I keep it that way. Zilla bulked up massively. From my current perspective Rocky needs to speed up to hit that 25.06. new moon harvest day. Increasing fertilizer to 75% because the moon calender said it and I think it's the right timing according to the lifecircle.
