----- WEEK 9 ----- ----- Day 57 ----- Easy day of watching. Just 1 pic today so far. not much reason to go downstairs to take a pic yet. Glookies is turning Purple on sugar and fan leaves now. Harvest is very soon. I'd wager within 7 days now just going to depend on the High I get off tester nugs. ***Update*** I destroyed the trellis and took em out for some pics and vids. Trichs = Tropicana is ready Tuesday, Wedding Cake probably Friday or within that weekend. ----- Day 58 ----- Last couple days. Fed about 30ml of Cal/Mag and 30ml of Molasses. Wanted to just keep the photosynthesis process and the plant in general alive for reveg. Was getting a bit too yellow for my liking. Harvest soon. ----- Day 59 ----- Harvested Tropicanna Glookies today Deleted this week by accident trying to make it a harvest week, so remade it. Will add harvest week once plants are dry and tester has been smoked to give proper info Put some more photos in. Basically the tent is 4 feet wide and the ruler is 12 inches long from bottom of duct tape Really loving the colors of this plant. ------ Day 60 ----- Fed only the Wedding Cake - 5-10ml of Calimagic and 20ml of molasses (NO Liter level marked or PPM or PH, i could cut today its done but im just maturing the trichs) Tropicanna Glookies is a friggin BEAUTIFUL strain. Moved the Wedding Cake in the tent so largest nugs are furthest away from light and dropped light from 1000w to 600w to save electricity Chop on Wedding Cake happens at mostly amber trichs. Prob 5-6 days max for that i'll know when I check trichs tonight and update with photo. ----- Day 61 ----- Wedding Cake is about 5% amber... so prob 6 days or so. Slow day today. ----- Day 62 ----- Feeding is today, going to just use some CaliMagic and Molasses again. Trichs aren't golden yet, so not chop time ... 8-9 weeks is what it is supposed to take, but it's got at least another 5-8+ days until 30-40% amber trichs for Indica couch-lock effect to shine in the Wedding Cake. Tropicanna could still be going right now, but I did not want more than 5-10% amber gold trichs to prevent a couch-lock effect. This has worked very well. On day 64 I will post a smoke report and full harvest/trim details as Saturday/Sunday is trimming. Will have dry weight results of Tropicanna (per plant, and as a whole). Tropicanna being sent to lab for full analysis will post results when they arrive (Usually 2-3 weeks after sending sample via mail) ------ Day 63 ------ Nothing to talk about today, slow day. almost done. *Update* 1 pic, i think it explains everything.

1/11/2024 Vegetation Week 1 Day 1- I have a root almost in the water.. Yay!! Top feeding is almost done. she is looking a little sad as I work the transition Top feeding but once the roots are fully in the water she will start to take off. Ensured my PPFD is set between 250-300 it is set to: 258 1/12/2024 Vegetation Week 1 Day 2- I have a root in the water.... NO TOP FEED TODAY SIR!!! now that a root is touching the water and she looks stable, I am not going to topfeed, I will see how she looks tomorrow and as long as everything looks good I am going to go ahead and do a change and week 1 fill on Nutes.. I know it is a couple of days in but the same Nutes go through Week 2 and get changed at Week 3 So I should be good to go.. I will just ensure I fill to root touching the water when I change tomorrow. 1/13/2024 Vegetation Week 1 Day 3- Water Change Day!! I added 36 Gallons of Water to the system: Silica= .5mil/gal= 18mil CalMag= .75mil/gal = 27mil FloraMicro=3.0mil/gal = 108mil FloraGro=2.0mil/gal = 72mil FloraBloom= 2.0mil/gal = 72mil PH DOWN= 30mil Very important thing with this system is to now wait the 24 hours for the system to adjust.. Do not make any further adjustments to your PH up or Down for 24 hours to allow time for the system to balance. 1/14/2024 Vegetation Week 1 Day 4- Today I just adjusted the PH to ensure that it was right at 6.0 1/15/2024 Vegetation Week 1 Day 5- Today I Cleaned up the lower damaged leaves from the transition from top feeding to roots in the water. She looks good today. 1/16/2024 Vegetation Week 1 Day 6- Today I just took a picture of the beautiful lady for Log. Other than that just normal day to day operations, check the pH, check the Humidifiers and fill as necessary, check level of water in the Res. Everything looks great. onto Tomorrow!! 1/17/2024 Vegetation Week 1 Day 7- Today I filled the humidifers, checked the PH and just let her grow.. Grow baby Grow.....

So I flipped the switch we're now on 12/12 and the stretch is kicking in big time. Plants are very lush growth is aggressive and just simply explosive!! Keep following for the upcoming flower show!!

Welcome to Week 1 of the Sweet Seeds Gorilla Girl XL Autoflowering grow courtesy of the fine folks at Sweet Seeds! This is the second of three consecutive grows/diaries that I am doing to showcase the tried and tested genetics from this reputable seed breeder. My last grow was a smashing success so I have high hopes for this grow as well. Nothing much to report for Week #1 although I will mention that the first watering was only 0.7 of a litre per plant (0.18 of a litre per plant per day) and the second was 1.4 litres per plant (0.35 of a litre per plant per day). I am watering on my usual schedule of every fourth day as this seems to be the sweet spot throughout past grows. I am using the usual- air bubbled tap water that is PH’d to around 6.0 and if need be (over the winter months in Canada) warmed to 68-70 degrees prior to hand watering with a small watering can. The seedling that lost one of it’s cotyledon leaves is fine but still a little smaller than her sisters. So now on to Mom’s tip of the week… Mom’s Tip for Week #1 is- YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR- QUALITY IS KEY!… When considering growing Cannabis, even on a small scale, quality is an important factor in all aspects from the seeds to set up to the supplies used throughout the grow. Starting with seeds from a established breeder will raise the odds considerably in your favour for a successful outcome. Many seed companies are more than willing to ship out freebies while building up their brands which seems attractive to new growers- but use at your own risk! There’s nothing worse than being halfway through a grow and discovering male flowers tucked in amongst the lowest branches or realizing that your beautiful buds have been mysteriously pollinated just weeks before harvest. I know that seeds from a reputable seed breeder are usually more expensive and can be hard to access in certain parts of the world. But purchasing quality seeds from a reputable seed company is the first step towards homegrown Cannabis success. An area that new growers often overlook due to the high price is the quality of crucial components in their set up- including tent, lights, and intake/exhaust fans. Anyone can get away with cheaper pots, oscillating corner fans, water pumps for dechlorination, etc but it’s worth every penny investing into the workhorses of your entire operation. An initial investment of around two thousand dollars will provide serious growers with the longevity and hassle free basics needed. If done right, quality components will pay for themselves within the first 6-12 months of use and continue to serve your needs for 3-5 years to come. Supplies used throughout the grow are the final area where quality is important but somewhat subjective too. Although I’ve already stated that I don’t feel the need to spend big dollars on all the extras (pots, oscillating fans, water pumps for dechlorination, PH/moisture meters, etc- I do believe in doing my homework to make sure that I’m getting the best bang for my buck. I thoroughly research every item purchased and used in my grows by reading customer reviews, speaking with other growers and sometimes even trial and error at my own expense. Making quality an important factor in all aspects of Cannabis cultivation will benefit you, your grows and the planet we live on. 🌳🌎🌳

Week 3 and a repot is done and now in day 3. To push the pest resistance test even further (so far, the plants have shown resilience against fungus gnats, thrips, and excessive humidity), it’s getting too risky to allow the gnats to continue affecting my roots. As a test, I sieved fine sand from my garden and spread it over the soil to eliminate the gnats' living space. I gave the plants a good watering before applying the sand, and now I’ll leave it like this for a week. By the end of the week, I plan to repot them anyway, so we’ll see if this method clears up the gnat problem.

He decidido que esta va a ser la última semana de crecimiento, quiero ver que tal se forman la colas con este tamaño de planta, hay que tener en cuenta que las tengo en tiestos pequeños/medios y tampoco es mi intención crear monstruos por el momento. Con este cultivo simplemente me estoy introduciendo a las técnicas de cultivo y al cultivo de fotodependienes en interior. Day 22. Girls loved LST and now its absolute single bush ;))) Hope they will start stretching a bit otherwise i will have soccer ball size one nugs instead of plant ;))) In plans new wave of heavy training on thursday and feed. Ordered new fans, old ones tend to die in a year of heavy work, theirs speed reduces a lot ... Morning / evening showers and thats all my attention... Can't tuck leaves, can't spread them yet, but hopefully next week all pot space will be taken. Kushes are behind, they will be fimed or toped. My LST style allows new branches to stretch up a bit and on second day i release leaves from prison, despite being lifted from soil, they touch each other and sweat, that brings static moist - highway to mold problems. But on first LST training i touch, bend them a lot, target to free up and expose all branches to light, at this time main top usually lowest. Wash your hands and do it before watering . If you need you can twist stem left or right, to find best position for easy tucking, if you can't - sometimes view leaves has to fall ... Day 24. Heavy training straight before night, hope to make everything : 1. New floor fans 2. New air fans 3. Heavy wave of LST and pot management 4. Watering. All done ! Had no time to make photos, but girls got tie supports around pots, loads of tucking, few soft wires and loads of showers, they will be fed tomorrow .. Don't forget its day 20-22 from first sign of life, both main strains grow amazing and super compact. Kushes a bit struggling, they didn't enjoy 6.0 watering and i think light and humidity is way of range for younger plants... plus sensitive to nutes ? But they fight and grow, will have to top them next week. Day 25. I know sometimes it happens, but one of Cheeses was too fat and thick and snaped during night after heavy LST session. First time in my life, once i snaped myself, now pressure did the thing ... Day 30. Work took me totally away from growing, have no time, just water them and spray twice a day. Tomorrow should be next LST training done. Will upload how they bushed out. Happy growing !!!

Here is a video tour of my back yard jungle. I am in the process of a huge clean-up now that the plants are ripening up and the buds are getting heavy. I'll post some photos tomorrow once the work is done. Some of the fan leaves are coming down now to promote light penetration and air circulation... don't want mildew.
