4/20 Still having trouble getting seeds to grow! 4 out of 6 seeds from the initial pop have died, so I've popped one more Chemdogging and one more Sour Diesel. Placed the popped seeds directly in the pot they'll stay in for the whole grow per suggestions. Built a 30"x36" trellis out of 3/4" PVC pipe, will install a double trellis netting on it once I set up the Blumat watering system. Also added in a smart power strip that now has built-in timers I can control from my phone. Organized all my extra grow equipment and cleaned up the room! The little pots in the photos are some random seeds I'm starting off in here to give to some friends to grow outdoors. 4/25 - sour diesel popped up today! 5/2 Still no luck getting the Chemdogging to sprout, currently waiting on C-dog and a Blackberry auto to sprout in my other two pots. Set up some random plants from seeds I found in a bag of Black Lime and Cookies, put them in a separate room to flower so I can find out if they're female.

A lot of TLC this week and she has bounced back! 😁Really had to dial in and give her the best environment possible. Flowers started to pop up below the canopy so I’m guessing all the defoliation was successful and she is coming back stronger than ever. Will watch for fox tailing as buds form to see if she is reacting from severe light stress early flowering days. Notes from the week: 9/15: Cut burnt tops off her today. Trimmed a lot of the burnt leaves. 9/19: She has recovered nicely from the light stress/burn. Flower stage does not seem to be affected to much. I have noticed some purple calxys and upper leaves near some tops seem to be fading and showing some purple as well. 😈

Welcome back at week 3 in vegetative stage of the Sensi Amnesia feminized by Sensi Seeds. She did a good progress during last week and developed 5 nodes already. I will give her a little more time before I top her and start the manifold. She is very thirsty in her small pot. I think I will repot her in her final pot before I start mainlining. So far, the conditions seems to fit. 26 C during day and 20 C at night with 50% humidity. Leafs and new branches developed good and she is a strong lady without any issues. Day 23: I repotted her into an 17 Liter pot with BioBizz Light Mix and it was absolutely necessary because the root mass of this lady was insane. Almost the whole pot was with white, healthy roots. I never experienced such a strong root structure in only 3 weeks from seed. She will get 2 days of recovery time before I will top her. Day 26: She got her second cut to develop 4 new main stems. I started my first attempts in mainlining this lady. Hopefully she will recover fast and respond good to this technique. Keep in touch ! Cheers HighZenBerg

For the past month, the humidifier has been an issue putting out way too much humidity; often leaving water in the bottom of the tent. In addition, the temperatures are also out of control. I added an AC last week to keep the temperature below 80. I finally determined the exhaust vent is also broken and has been for some time. AC Infinity does not extend the warranty to the replacement parts. I guess that makes sense since they would be in a state of perpetual free replacements. I bought a new one from Amazon that came with a new controller which is different from the controller 69 currently using. I decided that while it is very inconvenient and inefficient to monitor the tent through the day, I would rather finish this Frostbanger run without introducing a new unknown variable. I will continue using 3 circulating fans, the 4” exhaust vent from my 3x3. I have the AC pushing air in and the exhaust pulling air out. This creates a neutral pressure tent environment-neither positive nor negative. It looks like growth has stopped and plant height has been reached. Now is the time for buds to fatten and frost up. All 6 of them are short remaining less than 3 ft. They range from 15 to 31 inches. #4, 5 &6 are showing some fade, particularly #4. Upon opening the tent, a melon smell comes off the buds if I get close, and more stickiness was observed during the process of defoliation. They are living up to the new strain’s name. #5 is the frostiest followed by #2. Wow week 3 of flower and that much frost already. Before FastBuds announced the strain name and characteristics, I was disappointed that FBA2502 could be an indica sleepy strain but the universe provides what you need at the time. Dropped the seeds in water in the afternoon, the day before yesterday. I just put them in the pots about an hour ago. I am growing 4 in a 4X4. All the seeds were split and showing just a bit of the root. I mixed about a teaspoon of Azos with the soil just where the seeds are, in the center of the pots. I mixed it into a depth of about 3 inches. I am misting with PH (6.4) adjusted water. Will grab some pics when the girls come up. It should just be a couple of days. Update for the week. It's early morning on the 9th, 5 days since planting. All 4 of these Fastberrys were up within 48 hours of going into the ground. They popped within 12 hours of each other. They have now been up for 2 days and are looking good. Still misting with just PH (6.4) adjusted water. I will mist for a couple more days and then start real watering. The first watering will include Mykos WP to help with root growth. So far off to a good start!

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil.
